An issue was discovered in the box application on HiSilicon based IPTV/H.264/H.265 video encoders. Attackers can use hard-coded credentials in HTTP requests to perform any administrative task on the device including retrieving the device's configuration (with the cleartext admin password), and uploading a custom firmware update, to ultimately achieve arbitrary code execution.

An issue was discovered in the box application on HiSilicon based IPTV/H.264/H.265 video encoders. Attackers can send a crafted unauthenticated RTSP request to cause a buffer overflow and application crash. The device will not be able to perform its main purpose of video encoding and streaming for up to a minute, until it automatically reboots. Attackers can send malicious requests once a minute, effectively disabling the device.

An issue was discovered in the box application on HiSilicon based IPTV/H.264/H.265 video encoders. The file-upload endpoint does not enforce authentication. Attackers can send an unauthenticated HTTP request to upload a custom firmware component, possibly in conjunction with command injection, to achieve arbitrary code execution.

KubePi's Hardcoded Jwtsigkeys allows malicious actor to login with a forged JWT token

KubePi is a k8s panel. The jwt authentication function of KubePi through version 1.6.2 uses hard-coded Jwtsigkeys, resulting in the same Jwtsigkeys for all online projects. This means that an attacker can forge any jwt token to take over the administrator account of any online project. Furthermore, they may use the administrator to take over the k8s cluster of the target enterprise. `session.go`, the use of hard-coded JwtSigKey, allows an attacker to use this value to forge jwt tokens arbitrarily. The JwtSigKey is confidential and should not be hard-coded in the code. The vulnerability has been fixed in 1.6.3. In the patch, JWT key is specified in app.yml. If the user leaves it blank, a random key will be used. There are no workarounds aside from upgrading.

Weak JWT Secret vulnerabilitiy in EasyVirt DCScope <= 8.6.0 and CO2Scope <= 1.3.0 allows remote attackers to generate JWT for privilege escalation. The HMAC secret used for generating tokens is hardcoded as "somerandomaccesstoken". A weak HMAC secret poses a risk because attackers can use the predictable secret to create valid JSON Web Tokens (JWTs), allowing them access to important information and actions within the application.

An issue was discovered on D-Link DCS-1100 and DCS-1130 devices. The device has a custom telnet daemon as a part of the busybox and retrieves the password from the shadow file using the function getspnam at address 0x00053894. Then performs a crypt operation on the password retrieved from the user at address 0x000538E0 and performs a strcmp at address 0x00053908 to check if the password is correct or incorrect. However, the /etc/shadow file is a part of CRAM-FS filesystem which means that the user cannot change the password and hence a hardcoded hash in /etc/shadow is used to match the credentials provided by the user. This is a salted hash of the string "admin" and hence it acts as a password to the device which cannot be changed as the whole filesystem is read only.

Impersonation through User-Controlled Token

Code Dx versions prior to 2023.4.2 are vulnerable to user impersonation attack where a malicious actor is able to gain access to another user's account by crafting a custom "Remember Me" token. This is possible due to the use of a hard-coded cipher which was used when generating the token. A malicious actor who creates this token can supply it to a separate Code Dx system, provided they know the username they want to impersonate, and impersonate the user.  Score 6.7 CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N/E:P/RL:O/RC:C
