mySCADA myPRO versions prior to 8.20.0 allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to upload arbitrary files to the file system.
mySCADA myDESIGNER Versions 8.20.0 and prior fails to properly validate contents of an imported project file, which may make the product vulnerable to a path traversal payload. This vulnerability may allow an attacker to plant files on the file system in arbitrary locations or overwrite existing files, resulting in remote code execution.
mySCADA myDESIGNER 8.20.0 and below allows Directory Traversal attacks when importing project files. If an attacker can trick a victim into importing a malicious mep file, then they gain the ability to write arbitrary files to OS locations where the user has permission. This would typically lead to code execution.
The Wire application before 2018-03-07 for Android allows attackers to write to pathnames outside of the downloads directory via a ../ in a filename of a received file, related to AssetService.scala.

Marvell QConvergeConsole decryptFile Directory Traversal Arbitrary File Write Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to create arbitrary files on affected installations of Marvell QConvergeConsole. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the implementation of the decryptFile method. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied path prior to using it in file operations. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to write files in the context of SYSTEM. Was ZDI-CAN-24979.
Marvell QConvergeConsole saveNICParamsToFile Directory Traversal Arbitrary File Write Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to create arbitrary files on affected installations of Marvell QConvergeConsole. Authentication is not required to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the implementation of the saveNICParamsToFile method. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied path prior to using it in file operations. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to write files in the context of SYSTEM. Was ZDI-CAN-24921.
pyLoad is a free and open-source Download Manager written in pure Python. In version 0.5.0b3.dev89, an authenticated path traversal vulnerability exists in the /json/upload endpoint of pyLoad. By manipulating the filename of an uploaded file, an attacker can traverse out of the intended upload directory, allowing them to write arbitrary files to any location on the system accessible to the pyLoad process. This may lead to: Remote Code Execution (RCE), local privilege escalation, system-wide compromise, persistence, and backdoors. This is fixed in version 0.5.0b3.dev90.
A path traversal vulnerability exists in rsync. It stems from behavior enabled by the `--inc-recursive` option, a default-enabled option for many client options and can be enabled by the server even if not explicitly enabled by the client. When using the `--inc-recursive` option, a lack of proper symlink verification coupled with deduplication checks occurring on a per-file-list basis could allow a server to write files outside of the client's intended destination directory. A malicious server could write malicious files to arbitrary locations named after valid directories/paths on the client.
An Improper Link Resolution Before File Access ("Link Following") and Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ("Path Traversal"). This vulnerability occurs when extracting a maliciously crafted tar file, which can result in unauthorized file writes or overwrites outside the intended extraction directory. The issue is associated with index.js in the tar-fs package. This issue affects tar-fs: from 0.0.0 before 1.16.4, from 2.0.0 before 2.1.2, from 3.0.0 before 3.0.8.
A flaw was found in rsync. When using the `--safe-links` option, the rsync client fails to properly verify if a symbolic link destination sent from the server contains another symbolic link within it. This results in a path traversal vulnerability, which may lead to arbitrary file write outside the desired directory.
The WP Hide & Security Enhancer plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file contents deletion due to a missing authorization and insufficient file path validation in the file-process.php in all versions up to, and including, 2.5.1. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can break the site or lead to data loss.
There exists a Path Traversal vulnerability in Safearchive on Platforms with Case-Insensitive Filesystems (e.g., NTFS). This allows Attackers to Write Arbitrary Files via Archive Extraction containing symbolic links. We recommend upgrading past commit f7ce9d7b6f9c6ecd72d0b0f16216b046e55e44dc

The MW WP Form plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion in all versions up to, and including, 5.0.3. This is due to the plugin not properly validating the path of an uploaded file prior to deleting it. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete arbitrary files, including the wp-config.php file, which can make site takeover and remote code execution possible.
The Backup Migration plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Path Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 1.3.9 via the 'content-backups' and 'content-name', 'content-manifest', or 'content-bmitmp' and 'content-identy' HTTP headers. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete arbitrary files, including the wp-config.php file, which can make site takeover and remote code execution possible.

tecrail Responsive FileManager 9.13.4 allows remote attackers to write to an arbitrary image file (jpg/jpeg/png) via path traversal with the path parameter, through the save_img action in ajax_calls.php.
SharpZipLib (or #ziplib) is a Zip, GZip, Tar and BZip2 library. Starting version 1.0.0 and prior to version 1.3.3, a check was added if the destination file is under a destination directory. However, it is not enforced that `_baseDirectory` ends with slash. If the _baseDirectory is not slash terminated like `/home/user/dir` it is possible to create a file with a name thats begins as the destination directory one level up from the directory, i.e. `/home/user/dir.sh`. Because of the file name and destination directory constraints, the arbitrary file creation impact is limited and depends on the use case. Version 1.3.3 fixed this vulnerability.
An attacker could utilize a function in MDT AutoSave versions prior to v6.02.06 that permits changing a designated path to another path and traversing the directory, allowing the replacement of an existing file with a malicious file.
In Indo-Sol PROFINET-INspektor NT through 2.4.0, a path traversal vulnerability in the httpuploadd service of the firmware allows remote attackers to write to arbitrary files via a crafted filename parameter in requests to the /upload endpoint.
In pkg/tool/path.go in Gogs before 0.11.82.1218, a directory traversal in the file-upload functionality can allow an attacker to create a file under data/sessions on the server, a similar issue to CVE-2018-18925.
In Django 2.2 before 2.2.18, 3.0 before 3.0.12, and 3.1 before 3.1.6, the django.utils.archive.extract method (used by "startapp --template" and "startproject --template") allows directory traversal via an archive with absolute paths or relative paths with dot segments.
Allows the extraction filter to be ignored, allowing symlink targets to point outside the destination directory, and the modification of some file metadata. You are affected by this vulnerability if using the tarfile module to extract untrusted tar archives using TarFile.extractall() or TarFile.extract() using the filter= parameter with a value of "data" or "tar". See the tarfile extraction filters documentation https://docs.python.org/3/library/tarfile.html#tarfile-extraction-filter for more information. Note that for Python 3.14 or later the default value of filter= changed from "no filtering" to `"data", so if you are relying on this new default behavior then your usage is also affected. Note that none of these vulnerabilities significantly affect the installation of source distributions which are tar archives as source distributions already allow arbitrary code execution during the build process. However when evaluating source distributions it's important to avoid installing source distributions with suspicious links.
