Bugsink: SSRF bypass in `validate_webhook_url`

Bugsink is a self-hosted error tracking tool. Prior to 2.1.3, Bugsink’s webhook URL validation could be (partially) bypassed because of a mismatch in URL parsing. The original validation logic parsed webhook URLs with Python’s urllib.parse.urlparse, then sent the request with requests.post. For malformed inputs involving backslashes and @, those components can disagree about where the authority ends and which hostname is the real target. A URL may therefore appear to target an allowlisted public hostname during validation, while the HTTP client actually connects to a different host. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.1.3.

Openshift/router: openshift/router: cloud metadata ssrf via fqdn-typed endpointslice bypasses destination validation

A flaw was found in the OpenShift Router. A user with EndpointSlice write access can exploit this vulnerability by creating a Service backed by an FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) EndpointSlice that resolves to a cloud metadata endpoint. This allows the router to proxy requests to the cloud metadata endpoint, leading to the disclosure of instance credentials and other sensitive metadata. This bypasses previous security measures for validating IP addresses.

Lemmy: SSRF and internal image disclosure in post link metadata via unvalidated og:image

Lemmy is a link aggregator and forum for the fediverse. Prior to version 0.19.18, Lemmy fetches metadata for user-supplied post URLs and, under the default StoreLinkPreviews image mode, downloads the preview image through local pict-rs. While the top-level page URL is checked against internal IP ranges, the extracted og:image URL is not subject to the same restriction. As a result, an authenticated low-privileged user can submit an attacker-controlled public page whose Open Graph image points to an internal image endpoint. Lemmy will fetch that internal image server-side and store a local thumbnail that can then be served back to users. This issue has been patched in version 0.19.18.

Wallos: SSRF CGNAT Bypass in subscription/payments Logo URL — is_cgnat_ip() Not Used in Inline Checks

Wallos is an open-source, self-hostable personal subscription tracker. Prior to version 4.8.1, the SSRF protection in endpoints/subscription/add.php (line 42) and endpoints/payments/add.php (line 40) uses an inline IP validation check (FILTER_FLAG_NO_PRIV_RANGE | FILTER_FLAG_NO_RES_RANGE) that does not block CGNAT addresses (100.64.0.0/10, RFC 6598). The includes/ssrf_helper.php file explicitly defines is_cgnat_ip() to cover this gap (used by notification endpoints), but the logo/icon URL fetching in subscription and payment endpoints performs its own inline validation that misses this range. This allows authenticated users to perform Blind SSRF to internal services in Tailscale, Carrier-Grade NAT, and other environments using 100.64.0.0/10 addresses. This issue has been patched in version 4.8.1.

AVideo's SSRF via same-domain hostname with alternate port bypasses isSSRFSafeURL

WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions 29.0 and below, the `isSSRFSafeURL()` function in `objects/functions.php` contains a same-domain shortcircuit (lines 4290-4296) that allows any URL whose hostname matches `webSiteRootURL` to bypass all SSRF protections. Because the check compares only the hostname and ignores the port, an attacker can reach arbitrary ports on the AVideo server by using the site's public hostname with a non-standard port. The response body is saved to a web-accessible path, enabling full exfiltration. Commit a0156a6398362086390d949190f9d52a823000ba fixes the issue.

Potential access to sensitive URLs via CKAN extensions (SSRF)

CKAN is an open-source data management system for powering data hubs and data portals. There are a number of CKAN plugins, including XLoader, DataPusher, Resource proxy and ckanext-archiver, that work by downloading the contents of local or remote files in order to perform some actions with their contents (e.g. pushing to the DataStore, streaming contents or saving a local copy). All of them use the resource URL, and there are currently no checks to limit what URLs can be requested. This means that a malicious (or unaware) user can create a resource with a URL pointing to a place where they should not have access in order for one of the previous tools to retrieve it (known as a Server Side Request Forgery). Users wanting to protect against these kinds of attacks can use one or a combination of the following approaches: (1) Use a separate HTTP proxy like Squid that can be used to allow / disallow IPs, domains etc as needed, and make CKAN extensions aware of this setting via the ckan.download_proxy config option. (2) Implement custom firewall rules to prevent access to restricted resources. (3) Use custom validators on the resource url field to block/allow certain domains or IPs. All latest versions of the plugins listed above support the ckan.download_proxy settings. Support for this setting in the Resource Proxy plugin was included in CKAN 2.10.5 and 2.11.0.

WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions 26.0 and prior, the Live restream log callback flow accepted an attacker-controlled restreamerURL and later fetched that stored URL server-side, enabling stored SSRF for authenticated streamers. DHIS 2 is an open source information system for data capture, management, validation, analytics and visualization. In affected versions an authenticated DHIS2 user can craft a request to DHIS2 to instruct the server to make requests to external resources (like third party servers). This could allow an attacker, for example, to identify vulnerable services which might not be otherwise exposed to the public internet or to determine whether a specific file is present on the DHIS2 server. DHIS2 administrators should upgrade to the following hotfix releases: 2.36.12.1, 2.37.8.1, 2.38.2.1, 2.39.0.1. At this time, there is no known workaround or mitigation for this vulnerability.

Zammad is a web based open source helpdesk/customer support system. Prior to 7.0.1 and 6.5.4, the webhook model was missing a proper validation for loop back addresses, or link-local addresses — only the URL scheme (HTTP/HTTPS) as well as the hostname was checked. This could end up in retrieving confidential metadata of cloud/hosting providers. The existing check is now extended and is applied when configuring webhooks as well as triggering webhook jobs. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.0.1 and 6.5.4.

Lychee is a free, open-source photo-management tool. Prior to version 7.5.2, the SSRF protection in `PhotoUrlRule.php` can be bypassed using DNS rebinding. The IP validation check (line 86-89) only activates when the hostname is an IP address. When a domain name is used, `filter_var($host, FILTER_VALIDATE_IP)` returns `false`, skipping the entire check. AVideo: Stored SSRF via Video EPG Link Missing isSSRFSafeURL() Validation

WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions 26.0 and prior, the EPG (Electronic Program Guide) link feature in AVideo allows authenticated users with upload permissions to store arbitrary URLs that the server fetches on every EPG page visit. The URL is validated only with PHP's FILTER_VALIDATE_URL, which accepts internal network addresses. Although AVideo has a dedicated isSSRFSafeURL() function for preventing SSRF, it is not called in this code path. This results in a stored server-side request forgery vulnerability that can be used to scan internal networks, access cloud metadata services, and interact with internal services. At time of publication, there are no publicly available patches.

WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. Prior to version 26.0, the BulkEmbed plugin's save endpoint (`plugin/BulkEmbed/save.json.php`) fetches user-supplied thumbnail URLs via `url_get_contents()` without SSRF protection. Unlike all six other URL-fetching endpoints in AVideo that were hardened with `isSSRFSafeURL()`, this code path was missed. WeKnora is an LLM-powered framework designed for deep document understanding and semantic retrieval. Prior to version 0.3.0, a DNS rebinding vulnerability in the web_fetch tool allows an unauthenticated attacker to bypass URL validation and access internal resources on the server, including private IP addresses (e.g., 127.0.0.1, 192.168.x.x). By crafting a malicious domain that resolves to a public IP during validation and subsequently resolves to a private IP during execution, an attacker can access sensitive local services and potentially exfiltrate data. This issue has been patched in version 0.3.0.

HomeBox affected by Blind SSRF

HomeBox is a home inventory and organization system. Prior to 0.24.0-rc.1, the notifier functionality allows authenticated users to specify arbitrary URLs to which the application sends HTTP POST requests. No validation or restriction is applied to the supplied host, IP address, or port. Although the application does not return the response body from the target service, its UI behavior differs depending on the network state of the destination. This creates a behavioral side-channel that enables internal service enumeration. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.24.0-rc.1.

Indico has Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) in multiple places

Indico is an event management system that uses Flask-Multipass, a multi-backend authentication system for Flask. Versions prior to 3.3.10 are vulnerable to server-side request forgery. Indico makes outgoing requests to user-provides URLs in various places. This is mostly intentional and part of Indico's functionality but is never intended to let users access "special" targets such as localhost or cloud metadata endpoints. Users should upgrade to version 3.3.10 to receive a patch. Those who do not have IPs that expose sensitive data without authentication (typically because they do not host Indico on AWS) are not affected. Only event organizers can access endpoints where SSRF could be used to actually see the data returned by such a request. For those who trust their event organizers, the risk is also very limited. For additional security, both before and after patching, one may also use the common proxy-related environment variables (in particular `http_proxy` and `https_proxy`) to force outgoing requests to go through a proxy that limits requests in whatever way you deem useful/necessary. These environment variables would need to be set both on the indico-uwsgi and indico-celery services.

In Craft versions 3.5.0 through 4.16.17 and 5.0.0-RC1 through 5.8.21, the save_images_Asset GraphQL mutation can be abused to fetch internal URLs by providing a domain name that resolves to an internal IP address, bypassing hostname validation. When a non-image file extension such as .txt is allowed, downstream image validation is bypassed, which can allow an authenticated attacker with permission to use save_images_Asset to retrieve sensitive data such as AWS instance metadata credentials from the underlying host. This issue is patched in versions 4.16.18 and 5.8.22.
