In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_event: Ignore multiple conn complete events When one of the three connection complete events is received multiple times for the same handle, the device is registered multiple times which leads to memory corruptions. Therefore, consequent events for a single connection are ignored. The conn->state can hold different values, therefore HCI_CONN_HANDLE_UNSET is introduced to identify new connections. Denial of service in Exiv2

Exiv2 is a command-line utility and C++ library for reading, writing, deleting, and modifying the metadata of image files. An inefficient algorithm (quadratic complexity) was found in Exiv2 versions v0.27.3 and earlier. The inefficient algorithm is triggered when Exiv2 is used to write metadata into a crafted image file. An attacker could potentially exploit the vulnerability to cause a denial of service, if they can trick the victim into running Exiv2 on a crafted image file. The bug is fixed in version v0.27.4. Note that this bug is only triggered when _writing_ the metadata, which is a less frequently used Exiv2 operation than _reading_ the metadata. For example, to trigger the bug in the Exiv2 command-line application, you need to add an extra command-line argument such as `rm`.

nexthop: Fix memory leaks in nexthop notification chain listeners

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nexthop: Fix memory leaks in nexthop notification chain listeners syzkaller discovered memory leaks [1] that can be reduced to the following commands: # ip nexthop add id 1 blackhole # devlink dev reload pci/0000:06:00.0 As part of the reload flow, mlxsw will unregister its netdevs and then unregister from the nexthop notification chain. Before unregistering from the notification chain, mlxsw will receive delete notifications for nexthop objects using netdevs registered by mlxsw or their uppers. mlxsw will not receive notifications for nexthops using netdevs that are not dismantled as part of the reload flow. For example, the blackhole nexthop above that internally uses the loopback netdev as its nexthop device. One way to fix this problem is to have listeners flush their nexthop tables after unregistering from the notification chain. This is error-prone as evident by this patch and also not symmetric with the registration path where a listener receives a dump of all the existing nexthops. Therefore, fix this problem by replaying delete notifications for the listener being unregistered. This is symmetric to the registration path and also consistent with the netdev notification chain. The above means that unregister_nexthop_notifier(), like register_nexthop_notifier(), will have to take RTNL in order to iterate over the existing nexthops and that any callers of the function cannot hold RTNL. This is true for mlxsw and netdevsim, but not for the VXLAN driver. To avoid a deadlock, change the latter to unregister its nexthop listener without holding RTNL, making it symmetric to the registration path. And RCU_INIT_POINTER() assigns the NULL to dev->ip_ptr. As a result, in_dev cannot be obtained through inetdev_by_index() and then in_dev->mc_list->sources cannot be released by ip_mc_del1_src() in the sock_close. Rough call sequence goes like: sock_close -> __sock_release -> inet_release -> ip_mc_drop_socket -> inetdev_by_index -> ip_mc_leave_src -> ip_mc_del_src -> ip_mc_del1_src So we still need to call ip_mc_clear_src() in ip_mc_destroy_dev() to free in_dev->mc_list->sources.

XStream is a Java library to serialize objects to XML and back again. In XStream before version 1.4.16, there is a vulnerability which may allow a remote attacker to occupy a thread that consumes maximum CPU time and will never return. No user is affected, who followed the recommendation to setup XStream's security framework with a whitelist limited to the minimal required types. If you rely on XStream's default blacklist of the Security Framework, you will have to use at least version 1.4.16.

Synapse is a Matrix reference homeserver written in python (pypi package matrix-synapse). Matrix is an ecosystem for open federated Instant Messaging and VoIP. In Synapse before version 1.33.2 "Push rules" can specify conditions under which they will match, including `event_match`, which matches event content against a pattern including wildcards. Certain patterns can cause very poor performance in the matching engine, leading to a denial-of-service when processing moderate length events. The issue is patched in version 1.33.2. A potential workaround might be to prevent users from making custom push rules, by blocking such requests at a reverse-proxy.

enetc: Fix illegal access when reading affinity_hint

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: enetc: Fix illegal access when reading affinity_hint irq_set_affinity_hit() stores a reference to the cpumask_t parameter in the irq descriptor, and that reference can be accessed later from irq_affinity_hint_proc_show(). Since the cpu_mask parameter passed to irq_set_affinity_hit() has only temporary storage (it's on the stack memory), later accesses to it are illegal. Thus reads from the corresponding procfs affinity_hint file can result in paging request oops. The issue is fixed by the get_cpu_mask() helper, which provides a permanent storage for the cpumask_t parameter.
