A flaw was found in Libsoup. The server-side digest authentication implementation in the SoupAuthDomainDigest class does not properly track issued nonces or enforce the required incrementing nonce-count (nc) attribute. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to capture a single valid authentication header and replay it repeatedly. Consequently, the attacker can bypass authentication and gain unauthorized access to protected resources, impersonating the legitimate user.
A flaw was found in Red Hat Enterprise Application Platform 8. When an OIDC app that serves multiple tenants attempts to access the second tenant, it should prompt the user to log in again since the second tenant is secured with a different OIDC configuration. The underlying issue is in OidcSessionTokenStore when determining if a cached token should be used or not. This logic needs to be updated to take into account the new "provider-url" option in addition to the "realm" option. EAP-7 does not provide the vulnerable provider-url configuration option in its OIDC implementation and is not affected by this flaw.
If kdcproxy receives a request for a realm which does not have server addresses defined in its configuration, by default, it will query SRV records in the DNS zone matching the requested realm name. This creates a server-side request forgery vulnerability, since an attacker could send a request for a realm matching a DNS zone where they created SRV records pointing to arbitrary ports and hostnames (which may resolve to loopback or internal IP addresses). This vulnerability can be exploited to probe internal network topology and firewall rules, perform port scanning, and exfiltrate data. Deployments where the "use_dns" setting is explicitly set to false are not affected.
A flaw was found in Keycloak. An authenticated attacker can perform Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) by manipulating the `client_session_host` parameter during refresh token requests. This occurs when a Keycloak client is configured to use the `backchannel.logout.url` with the `application.session.host` placeholder. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to make HTTP requests from the Keycloak server’s network context, potentially probing internal networks or internal APIs, leading to information disclosure.
A flaw was identified in Keycloak, an identity and access management solution, where it improperly follows HTTP redirects when processing certain client configuration requests. This behavior allows an attacker to trick the server into making unintended requests to internal or restricted resources. As a result, sensitive internal services such as cloud metadata endpoints could be accessed. This issue may lead to information disclosure and enable attackers to map internal network infrastructure.
A flaw was found in the OpenShift Router. A user with EndpointSlice write access can exploit this vulnerability by creating a Service backed by an FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) EndpointSlice that resolves to a cloud metadata endpoint. This allows the router to proxy requests to the cloud metadata endpoint, leading to the disclosure of instance credentials and other sensitive metadata. This bypasses previous security measures for validating IP addresses.
A flaw was found in Red Hat Quay's Proxy Cache configuration feature. When an organization administrator configures an upstream registry for proxy caching, Quay makes a network connection to the specified registry hostname without verifying that it points to a legitimate external service. An attacker with organization administrator privileges could supply a crafted hostname to force the Quay server to make requests to internal network services, cloud infrastructure endpoints, or other resources that should not be accessible from the Quay application.
A flaw was found in the FTP GVfs backend. A malicious FTP server can exploit this vulnerability by providing an arbitrary IP address and port in its passive mode (PASV) response. The client unconditionally trusts this information and attempts to connect to the specified endpoint, allowing the malicious server to probe for open ports accessible from the client's network.
A flaw was found in mirror-registry. Authenticated users can exploit the log export feature by providing a specially crafted web address (URL). This allows the application's backend to make arbitrary requests to internal network resources, a vulnerability known as Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF). This could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive information or other internal systems.
A flaw was found in ose-openshift-apiserver. This vulnerability allows internal network enumeration, service discovery, limited information disclosure, and potential denial-of-service (DoS) through Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) due to missing IP address and network-range validation when processing user-supplied image references.
A flaw was found in Keycloak’s CIBA feature where insufficient validation of client-configured backchannel notification endpoints could allow blind server-side requests to internal services.
A flaw was identified in Keycloak’s OpenID Connect Dynamic Client Registration feature when clients authenticate using private_key_jwt. The issue allows a client to specify an arbitrary jwks_uri, which Keycloak then retrieves without validating the destination. This enables attackers to coerce the Keycloak server into making HTTP requests to internal or restricted network resources. As a result, attackers can probe internal services and cloud metadata endpoints, creating an information disclosure and reconnaissance risk.
A flaw was found in Clair. The fetcher component makes outbound HTTP requests to attacker-supplied URIs from manifest layer descriptors without IP or scheme filtering. When PSK authentication is not configured (opt-in, not enforced by default), an unauthenticated attacker can submit a manifest with a URI pointing to internal services or cloud metadata endpoints. The SSRF is reflective for non-200 responses, leaking up to 256 bytes of error body content via CheckResponse error messages. Operator-managed Red Hat Quay deployments auto-configure PSK and are not exposed to the unauthenticated attack vector.
A flaw was found in OpenShift Console. A Server Side Request Forgery (SSRF) attack can happen if an attacker supplies all or part of a URL to the server to query. The server is considered to be in a privileged network position and can often reach exposed services that aren't readily available to clients due to network filtering. Leveraging such an attack vector, the attacker can have an impact on other services and potentially disclose information or have other nefarious effects on the system. The /api/dev-console/proxy/internet endpoint on the OpenShift Console allows authenticated users to have the console's pod perform arbitrary and fully controlled HTTP(s) requests. The full response to these requests is returned by the endpoint. While the name of this endpoint suggests the requests are only bound to the internet, no such checks are in place. An authenticated user can therefore ask the console to perform arbitrary HTTP requests from outside the cluster to a service inside the cluster.
A Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability exists in the MediaConnector class within the vLLM project's multimodal feature set. The load_from_url and load_from_url_async methods fetch and process media from user-provided URLs without adequate restrictions on the target hosts. This allows an attacker to coerce the vLLM server into making arbitrary requests to internal network resources.
A flaw was found in the Quay config-tool's LDAP and SMTP validation functions. An attacker with config editor access can exploit these functions, which make outbound connections to user-supplied endpoints without proper IP or host filtering. This allows the attacker to perform internal network reconnaissance from the Quay pod's network position, potentially mapping the internal network infrastructure.

As this project is retired, we do not plan to release a version that fixes this issue. Users are recommended to find an alternative or restrict access to the instance to trusted users. NOTE: This vulnerability only affects products that are no longer supported by the maintainer.
The W3C XML Signature Syntax and Processing (XMLDsig) specification, starting with 1.0, was originally published with a "RetrievalMethod is a URI ... that may be used to obtain key and/or certificate information" statement and no accompanying information about SSRF risks, and this may have contributed to vulnerable implementations such as those discussed in CVE-2023-36661 and CVE-2024-21893. NOTE: this was mitigated in 1.1 and 2.0 via a directly referenced Best Practices document that calls on implementers to be wary of SSRF.
