initramfs: avoid filename buffer overrun

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: initramfs: avoid filename buffer overrun The initramfs filename field is defined in Documentation/driver-api/early-userspace/buffer-format.rst as: 37 cpio_file := ALGN(4) + cpio_header + filename + "\0" + ALGN(4) + data ... 55 ============= ================== ========================= 56 Field name Field size Meaning 57 ============= ================== ========================= ... 70 c_namesize 8 bytes Length of filename, including final \0 When extracting an initramfs cpio archive, the kernel's do_name() path handler assumes a zero-terminated path at @collected, passing it directly to filp_open() / init_mkdir() / init_mknod(). If a specially crafted cpio entry carries a non-zero-terminated filename and is followed by uninitialized memory, then a file may be created with trailing characters that represent the uninitialized memory. The ability to create an initramfs entry would imply already having full control of the system, so the buffer overrun shouldn't be considered a security vulnerability. Append the output of the following bash script to an existing initramfs and observe any created /initramfs_test_fname_overrunAA* path. E.g. ./reproducer.sh | gzip >> /myinitramfs It's easiest to observe non-zero uninitialized memory when the output is gzipped, as it'll overflow the heap allocated @out_buf in __gunzip(), rather than the initrd_start+initrd_size block. ---- reproducer.sh ---- nilchar="A" # change to "\0" to properly zero terminate / pad magic="070701" ino=1 mode=$(( 0100777 )) uid=0 gid=0 nlink=1 mtime=1 filesize=0 devmajor=0 devminor=1 rdevmajor=0 rdevminor=0 csum=0 fname="initramfs_test_fname_overrun" namelen=$(( ${#fname} + 1 )) # plus one to account for terminator printf "%s%08x%08x%08x%08x%08x%08x%08x%08x%08x%08x%08x%08x%08x%s" \ $magic $ino $mode $uid $gid $nlink $mtime $filesize \ $devmajor $devminor $rdevmajor $rdevminor $namelen $csum $fname termpadlen=$(( 1 + ((4 - ((110 + $namelen) & 3)) % 4) )) printf "%.s${nilchar}" $(seq 1 $termpadlen) ---- reproducer.sh ---- Symlink filename fields handled in do_symlink() won't overrun past the data segment, due to the explicit zero-termination of the symlink target. Fix filename buffer overrun by aborting the initramfs FSM if any cpio entry doesn't carry a zero-terminator at the expected (name_len - 1) offset.

ice: fix memory corruption bug with suspend and rebuild

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ice: fix memory corruption bug with suspend and rebuild The ice driver would previously panic after suspend. This is caused from the driver *only* calling the ice_vsi_free_q_vectors() function by itself, when it is suspending. Since commit b3e7b3a6ee92 ("ice: prevent NULL pointer deref during reload") the driver has zeroed out num_q_vectors, and only restored it in ice_vsi_cfg_def(). This further causes the ice_rebuild() function to allocate a zero length buffer, after which num_q_vectors is updated, and then the new value of num_q_vectors is used to index into the zero length buffer, which corrupts memory. The fix entails making sure all the code referencing num_q_vectors only does so after it has been reset via ice_vsi_cfg_def(). I didn't perform a full bisect, but I was able to test against 6.1.77 kernel and that ice driver works fine for suspend/resume with no panic, so sometime since then, this problem was introduced. wifi: ath11k: update channel list in reg notifier instead reg worker

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: ath11k: update channel list in reg notifier instead reg worker Currently when ath11k gets a new channel list, it will be processed according to the following steps: 1. update new channel list to cfg80211 and queue reg_work. 2. cfg80211 handles new channel list during reg_work. 3. update cfg80211's handled channel list to firmware by ath11k_reg_update_chan_list(). But ath11k will immediately execute step 3 after reg_work is just queued. Since step 2 is asynchronous, cfg80211 may not have completed handling the new channel list, which may leading to an out-of-bounds write error: BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in ath11k_reg_update_chan_list Call Trace: ath11k_reg_update_chan_list+0xbfe/0xfe0 [ath11k] kfree+0x109/0x3a0 ath11k_regd_update+0x1cf/0x350 [ath11k] ath11k_regd_update_work+0x14/0x20 [ath11k] process_one_work+0xe35/0x14c0 Should ensure step 2 is completely done before executing step 3. Thus Wen raised patch[1]. When flag NL80211_REGDOM_SET_BY_DRIVER is set, cfg80211 will notify ath11k after step 2 is done. So enable the flag NL80211_REGDOM_SET_BY_DRIVER then cfg80211 will notify ath11k after step 2 is done. At this time, there will be no KASAN bug during the execution of the step 3. media: venus: hfi: add check to handle incorrect queue size

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: venus: hfi: add check to handle incorrect queue size qsize represents size of shared queued between driver and video firmware. Firmware can modify this value to an invalid large value. In such situation, empty_space will be bigger than the space actually available. Since new_wr_idx is not checked, so the following code will result in an OOB write. ... qsize = qhdr->q_size if (wr_idx >= rd_idx) empty_space = qsize - (wr_idx - rd_idx) .... if (new_wr_idx < qsize) { memcpy(wr_ptr, packet, dwords << 2) --> OOB write Add check to ensure qsize is within the allocated size while reading and writing packets into the queue.

iommufd/iova_bitmap: Fix shift-out-of-bounds in iova_bitmap_offset_to_index()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommufd/iova_bitmap: Fix shift-out-of-bounds in iova_bitmap_offset_to_index() Resolve a UBSAN shift-out-of-bounds issue in iova_bitmap_offset_to_index() where shifting the constant "1" (of type int) by bitmap->mapped.pgshift (an unsigned long value) could result in undefined behavior. The constant "1" defaults to a 32-bit "int", and when "pgshift" exceeds 31 (e.g., pgshift = 63) the shift operation overflows, as the result cannot be represented in a 32-bit type. To resolve this, the constant is updated to "1UL", promoting it to an unsigned long type to match the operand's type.

usb: cdc-acm: Check control transfer buffer size before access

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: cdc-acm: Check control transfer buffer size before access If the first fragment is shorter than struct usb_cdc_notification, we can't calculate an expected_size. Log an error and discard the notification instead of reading lengths from memory outside the received data, which can lead to memory corruption when the expected_size decreases between fragments, causing `expected_size - acm->nb_index` to wrap. This issue has been present since the beginning of git history; however, it only leads to memory corruption since commit ea2583529cd1 ("cdc-acm: reassemble fragmented notifications"). A mitigating factor is that acm_ctrl_irq() can only execute after userspace has opened /dev/ttyACM*; but if ModemManager is running, ModemManager will do that automatically depending on the USB device's vendor/product IDs and its other interfaces.

partitions: mac: fix handling of bogus partition table

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: partitions: mac: fix handling of bogus partition table Fix several issues in partition probing: - The bailout for a bad partoffset must use put_dev_sector(), since the preceding read_part_sector() succeeded. - If the partition table claims a silly sector size like 0xfff bytes (which results in partition table entries straddling sector boundaries), bail out instead of accessing out-of-bounds memory. - We must not assume that the partition table contains proper NUL termination - use strnlen() and strncmp() instead of strlen() and strcmp().

sched/fair: Fix potential memory corruption in child_cfs_rq_on_list

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sched/fair: Fix potential memory corruption in child_cfs_rq_on_list child_cfs_rq_on_list attempts to convert a 'prev' pointer to a cfs_rq. This 'prev' pointer can originate from struct rq's leaf_cfs_rq_list, making the conversion invalid and potentially leading to memory corruption. Depending on the relative positions of leaf_cfs_rq_list and the task group (tg) pointer within the struct, this can cause a memory fault or access garbage data. The issue arises in list_add_leaf_cfs_rq, where both cfs_rq->leaf_cfs_rq_list and rq->leaf_cfs_rq_list are added to the same leaf list. Also, rq->tmp_alone_branch can be set to rq->leaf_cfs_rq_list. This adds a check `if (prev == &rq->leaf_cfs_rq_list)` after the main conditional in child_cfs_rq_on_list. This ensures that the container_of operation will convert a correct cfs_rq struct. This check is sufficient because only cfs_rqs on the same CPU are added to the list, so verifying the 'prev' pointer against the current rq's list head is enough. Fixes a potential memory corruption issue that due to current struct layout might not be manifesting as a crash but could lead to unpredictable behavior when the layout changes.

net: hns3: fixed hclge_fetch_pf_reg accesses bar space out of bounds issue

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: hns3: fixed hclge_fetch_pf_reg accesses bar space out of bounds issue The TQP BAR space is divided into two segments. TQPs 0-1023 and TQPs 1024-1279 are in different BAR space addresses. However, hclge_fetch_pf_reg does not distinguish the tqp space information when reading the tqp space information. When the number of TQPs is greater than 1024, access bar space overwriting occurs. The problem of different segments has been considered during the initialization of tqp.io_base. misc: fastrpc: Fix copy buffer page size

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: misc: fastrpc: Fix copy buffer page size For non-registered buffer, fastrpc driver copies the buffer and pass it to the remote subsystem. There is a problem with current implementation of page size calculation which is not considering the offset in the calculation. This might lead to passing of improper and out-of-bounds page size which could result in memory issue. Calculate page start and page end using the offset adjusted address instead of absolute address.

net/sched: fix pedit partial COW leading to page cache corruption

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: fix pedit partial COW leading to page cache corruption tcf_pedit_act() computes the COW range for skb_ensure_writable() once before the key loop using tcfp_off_max_hint, but the hint does not account for the runtime header offset added by typed keys. This can leave part of the write region un-COW'd. Fix by moving skb_ensure_writable() inside the per-key loop where the actual write offset is known, and add overflow checking on the offset arithmetic. For negative offsets (e.g. Ethernet header edits at ingress), use skb_cow() to COW the headroom instead. Guard offset_valid() against INT_MIN, where negation is undefined.

perf/arm-cmn: Reject unsupported hardware configurations

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/arm-cmn: Reject unsupported hardware configurations So far we've been fairly lax about accepting both unknown CMN models (at least with a warning), and unknown revisions of those which we do know, as although things do frequently change between releases, typically enough remains the same to be somewhat useful for at least some basic bringup checks. However, we also make assumptions of the maximum supported sizes and numbers of things in various places, and there's no guarantee that something new might not be bigger and lead to nasty array overflows. Make sure we only try to run on things that actually match our assumptions and so will not risk memory corruption. We have at least always failed on completely unknown node types, so update that error message for clarity and consistency too.

xdp: produce a warning when calculated tailroom is negative

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xdp: produce a warning when calculated tailroom is negative Many ethernet drivers report xdp Rx queue frag size as being the same as DMA write size. However, the only user of this field, namely bpf_xdp_frags_increase_tail(), clearly expects a truesize. Such difference leads to unspecific memory corruption issues under certain circumstances, e.g. in ixgbevf maximum DMA write size is 3 KB, so when running xskxceiver's XDP_ADJUST_TAIL_GROW_MULTI_BUFF, 6K packet fully uses all DMA-writable space in 2 buffers. This would be fine, if only rxq->frag_size was properly set to 4K, but value of 3K results in a negative tailroom, because there is a non-zero page offset. We are supposed to return -EINVAL and be done with it in such case, but due to tailroom being stored as an unsigned int, it is reported to be somewhere near UINT_MAX, resulting in a tail being grown, even if the requested offset is too much (it is around 2K in the abovementioned test). This later leads to all kinds of unspecific calltraces. btrfs: make sure that WRITTEN is set on all metadata blocks

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: make sure that WRITTEN is set on all metadata blocks We previously would call btrfs_check_leaf() if we had the check integrity code enabled, which meant that we could only run the extended leaf checks if we had WRITTEN set on the header flags. This leaves a gap in our checking, because we could end up with corruption on disk where WRITTEN isn't set on the leaf, and then the extended leaf checks don't get run which we rely on to validate all of the item pointers to make sure we don't access memory outside of the extent buffer. However, since 732fab95abe2 ("btrfs: check-integrity: remove CONFIG_BTRFS_FS_CHECK_INTEGRITY option") we no longer call btrfs_check_leaf() from btrfs_mark_buffer_dirty(), which means we only ever call it on blocks that are being written out, and thus have WRITTEN set, or that are being read in, which should have WRITTEN set. Add checks to make sure we have WRITTEN set appropriately, and then make sure __btrfs_check_leaf() always does the item checking. This will protect us from file systems that have been corrupted and no longer have WRITTEN set on some of the blocks. This was hit on a crafted image tweaking the WRITTEN bit and reported by KASAN as out-of-bound access in the eb accessors. The example is a dir item at the end of an eb. An out-of-bounds memory write flaw was found in the Linux kernel’s Kid-friendly Wired Controller driver. This flaw allows a local user to crash or potentially escalate their privileges on the system. It is in bigben_probe of drivers/hid/hid-bigbenff.c. The reason is incorrect assumption - bigben devices all have inputs. However, malicious devices can break this assumption, leaking to out-of-bound write.

mailbox: th1520: Fix memory corruption due to incorrect array size

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mailbox: th1520: Fix memory corruption due to incorrect array size The functions th1520_mbox_suspend_noirq and th1520_mbox_resume_noirq are intended to save and restore the interrupt mask registers in the MBOX ICU0. However, the array used to store these registers was incorrectly sized, leading to memory corruption when accessing all four registers. This commit corrects the array size to accommodate all four interrupt mask registers, preventing memory corruption during suspend and resume operations.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: i2c: ds90ub9x3: Fix extra fwnode_handle_put() The ub913 and ub953 drivers call fwnode_handle_put(priv->sd.fwnode) as part of their remove process, and if the driver is removed multiple times, eventually leads to put "overflow", possibly causing memory corruption or crash. The fwnode_handle_put() is a leftover from commit 905f88ccebb1 ("media: i2c: ds90ub9x3: Fix sub-device matching"), which changed the code related to the sd.fwnode, but missed removing these fwnode_handle_put() calls.

rtc: pcf85063: fix potential OOB write in PCF85063 NVMEM read

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rtc: pcf85063: fix potential OOB write in PCF85063 NVMEM read The nvmem interface supports variable buffer sizes, while the regmap interface operates with fixed-size storage. If an nvmem client uses a buffer size less than 4 bytes, regmap_read will write out of bounds as it expects the buffer to point at an unsigned int. Fix this by using an intermediary unsigned int to hold the value.

bpf: fix OOB devmap writes when deleting elements

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: fix OOB devmap writes when deleting elements Jordy reported issue against XSKMAP which also applies to DEVMAP - the index used for accessing map entry, due to being a signed integer, causes the OOB writes. Fix is simple as changing the type from int to u32, however, when compared to XSKMAP case, one more thing needs to be addressed. When map is released from system via dev_map_free(), we iterate through all of the entries and an iterator variable is also an int, which implies OOB accesses. Again, change it to be u32. Example splat below: [ 160.724676] BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ffffc8fc2c001000 [ 160.731662] #PF: supervisor read access in kernel mode [ 160.736876] #PF: error_code(0x0000) - not-present page [ 160.742095] PGD 0 P4D 0 [ 160.744678] Oops: Oops: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP [ 160.749106] CPU: 1 UID: 0 PID: 520 Comm: kworker/u145:12 Not tainted 6.12.0-rc1+ #487 [ 160.757050] Hardware name: Intel Corporation S2600WFT/S2600WFT, BIOS SE5C620.86B.02.01.0008.031920191559 03/19/2019 [ 160.767642] Workqueue: events_unbound bpf_map_free_deferred [ 160.773308] RIP: 0010:dev_map_free+0x77/0x170 [ 160.777735] Code: 00 e8 fd 91 ed ff e8 b8 73 ed ff 41 83 7d 18 19 74 6e 41 8b 45 24 49 8b bd f8 00 00 00 31 db 85 c0 74 48 48 63 c3 48 8d 04 c7 <48> 8b 28 48 85 ed 74 30 48 8b 7d 18 48 85 ff 74 05 e8 b3 52 fa ff [ 160.796777] RSP: 0018:ffffc9000ee1fe38 EFLAGS: 00010202 [ 160.802086] RAX: ffffc8fc2c001000 RBX: 0000000080000000 RCX: 0000000000000024 [ 160.809331] RDX: 0000000000000000 RSI: 0000000000000024 RDI: ffffc9002c001000 [ 160.816576] RBP: 0000000000000000 R08: 0000000000000023 R09: 0000000000000001 [ 160.823823] R10: 0000000000000001 R11: 00000000000ee6b2 R12: dead000000000122 [ 160.831066] R13: ffff88810c928e00 R14: ffff8881002df405 R15: 0000000000000000 [ 160.838310] FS: 0000000000000000(0000) GS:ffff8897e0c40000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 [ 160.846528] CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 [ 160.852357] CR2: ffffc8fc2c001000 CR3: 0000000005c32006 CR4: 00000000007726f0 [ 160.859604] DR0: 0000000000000000 DR1: 0000000000000000 DR2: 0000000000000000 [ 160.866847] DR3: 0000000000000000 DR6: 00000000fffe0ff0 DR7: 0000000000000400 [ 160.874092] PKRU: 55555554 [ 160.876847] Call Trace: [ 160.879338] <TASK> [ 160.881477] ? __die+0x20/0x60 [ 160.884586] ? page_fault_oops+0x15a/0x450 [ 160.888746] ? search_extable+0x22/0x30 [ 160.892647] ? search_bpf_extables+0x5f/0x80 [ 160.896988] ? exc_page_fault+0xa9/0x140 [ 160.900973] ? asm_exc_page_fault+0x22/0x30 [ 160.905232] ? dev_map_free+0x77/0x170 [ 160.909043] ? dev_map_free+0x58/0x170 [ 160.912857] bpf_map_free_deferred+0x51/0x90 [ 160.917196] process_one_work+0x142/0x370 [ 160.921272] worker_thread+0x29e/0x3b0 [ 160.925082] ? rescuer_thread+0x4b0/0x4b0 [ 160.929157] kthread+0xd4/0x110 [ 160.932355] ? kthread_park+0x80/0x80 [ 160.936079] ret_from_fork+0x2d/0x50 [ 160.943396] ? kthread_park+0x80/0x80 [ 160.950803] ret_from_fork_asm+0x11/0x20 [ 160.958482] </TASK>

iio: dac: ad3552r-hs: fix out-of-bound write in ad3552r_hs_write_data_source

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: dac: ad3552r-hs: fix out-of-bound write in ad3552r_hs_write_data_source When simple_write_to_buffer() succeeds, it returns the number of bytes actually copied to the buffer. The code incorrectly uses 'count' as the index for null termination instead of the actual bytes copied. If count exceeds the buffer size, this leads to out-of-bounds write. Add a check for the count and use the return value as the index. The bug was validated using a demo module that mirrors the original code and was tested under QEMU. Pattern of the bug: - A fixed 64-byte stack buffer is filled using count. - If count > 64, the code still does buf[count] = '\0', causing an - out-of-bounds write on the stack. Steps for reproduce: - Opens the device node. - Writes 128 bytes of A to it. - This overflows the 64-byte stack buffer and KASAN reports the OOB. Found via static analysis. This is similar to the commit da9374819eb3 ("iio: backend: fix out-of-bound write")

clk: clk-loongson2: Fix memory corruption bug in struct loongson2_clk_provider

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clk: clk-loongson2: Fix memory corruption bug in struct loongson2_clk_provider Some heap space is allocated for the flexible structure `struct clk_hw_onecell_data` and its flexible-array member `hws` through the composite structure `struct loongson2_clk_provider` in function `loongson2_clk_probe()`, as shown below: 289 struct loongson2_clk_provider *clp; ... 296 for (p = data; p->name; p++) 297 clks_num++; 298 299 clp = devm_kzalloc(dev, struct_size(clp, clk_data.hws, clks_num), 300 GFP_KERNEL); Then some data is written into the flexible array: 350 clp->clk_data.hws[p->id] = hw; This corrupts `clk_lock`, which is the spinlock variable immediately following the `clk_data` member in `struct loongson2_clk_provider`: struct loongson2_clk_provider { void __iomem *base; struct device *dev; struct clk_hw_onecell_data clk_data; spinlock_t clk_lock; /* protect access to DIV registers */ }; The problem is that the flexible structure is currently placed in the middle of `struct loongson2_clk_provider` instead of at the end. Fix this by moving `struct clk_hw_onecell_data clk_data;` to the end of `struct loongson2_clk_provider`. Also, add a code comment to help prevent this from happening again in case new members are added to the structure in the future. This change also fixes the following -Wflex-array-member-not-at-end warning: drivers/clk/clk-loongson2.c:32:36: warning: structure containing a flexible array member is not at the end of another structure [-Wflex-array-member-not-at-end]

net: pse-pd: Fix out of bound for loop

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: pse-pd: Fix out of bound for loop Adjust the loop limit to prevent out-of-bounds access when iterating over PI structures. The loop should not reach the index pcdev->nr_lines since we allocate exactly pcdev->nr_lines number of PI structures. This fix ensures proper bounds are maintained during iterations.

nilfs2: fix kernel bug due to missing clearing of checked flag

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nilfs2: fix kernel bug due to missing clearing of checked flag Syzbot reported that in directory operations after nilfs2 detects filesystem corruption and degrades to read-only, __block_write_begin_int(), which is called to prepare block writes, may fail the BUG_ON check for accesses exceeding the folio/page size, triggering a kernel bug. This was found to be because the "checked" flag of a page/folio was not cleared when it was discarded by nilfs2's own routine, which causes the sanity check of directory entries to be skipped when the directory page/folio is reloaded. So, fix that. This was necessary when the use of nilfs2's own page discard routine was applied to more than just metadata files.

smb: client: fix OOBs when building SMB2_IOCTL request

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix OOBs when building SMB2_IOCTL request When using encryption, either enforced by the server or when using 'seal' mount option, the client will squash all compound request buffers down for encryption into a single iov in smb2_set_next_command(). SMB2_ioctl_init() allocates a small buffer (448 bytes) to hold the SMB2_IOCTL request in the first iov, and if the user passes an input buffer that is greater than 328 bytes, smb2_set_next_command() will end up writing off the end of @rqst->iov[0].iov_base as shown below: mount.cifs //srv/share /mnt -o ...,seal ln -s $(perl -e "print('a')for 1..1024") /mnt/link BUG: KASAN: slab-out-of-bounds in smb2_set_next_command.cold+0x1d6/0x24c [cifs] Write of size 4116 at addr ffff8881148fcab8 by task ln/859 CPU: 1 UID: 0 PID: 859 Comm: ln Not tainted 6.12.0-rc3 #1 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (Q35 + ICH9, 2009), BIOS 1.16.3-2.fc40 04/01/2014 Call Trace: <TASK> dump_stack_lvl+0x5d/0x80 ? smb2_set_next_command.cold+0x1d6/0x24c [cifs] print_report+0x156/0x4d9 ? smb2_set_next_command.cold+0x1d6/0x24c [cifs] ? __virt_addr_valid+0x145/0x310 ? __phys_addr+0x46/0x90 ? smb2_set_next_command.cold+0x1d6/0x24c [cifs] kasan_report+0xda/0x110 ? smb2_set_next_command.cold+0x1d6/0x24c [cifs] kasan_check_range+0x10f/0x1f0 __asan_memcpy+0x3c/0x60 smb2_set_next_command.cold+0x1d6/0x24c [cifs] smb2_compound_op+0x238c/0x3840 [cifs] ? kasan_save_track+0x14/0x30 ? kasan_save_free_info+0x3b/0x70 ? vfs_symlink+0x1a1/0x2c0 ? do_symlinkat+0x108/0x1c0 ? __pfx_smb2_compound_op+0x10/0x10 [cifs] ? kmem_cache_free+0x118/0x3e0 ? cifs_get_writable_path+0xeb/0x1a0 [cifs] smb2_get_reparse_inode+0x423/0x540 [cifs] ? __pfx_smb2_get_reparse_inode+0x10/0x10 [cifs] ? rcu_is_watching+0x20/0x50 ? __kmalloc_noprof+0x37c/0x480 ? smb2_create_reparse_symlink+0x257/0x490 [cifs] ? smb2_create_reparse_symlink+0x38f/0x490 [cifs] smb2_create_reparse_symlink+0x38f/0x490 [cifs] ? __pfx_smb2_create_reparse_symlink+0x10/0x10 [cifs] ? find_held_lock+0x8a/0xa0 ? hlock_class+0x32/0xb0 ? __build_path_from_dentry_optional_prefix+0x19d/0x2e0 [cifs] cifs_symlink+0x24f/0x960 [cifs] ? __pfx_make_vfsuid+0x10/0x10 ? __pfx_cifs_symlink+0x10/0x10 [cifs] ? make_vfsgid+0x6b/0xc0 ? generic_permission+0x96/0x2d0 vfs_symlink+0x1a1/0x2c0 do_symlinkat+0x108/0x1c0 ? __pfx_do_symlinkat+0x10/0x10 ? strncpy_from_user+0xaa/0x160 __x64_sys_symlinkat+0xb9/0xf0 do_syscall_64+0xbb/0x1d0 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f RIP: 0033:0x7f08d75c13bb

fbdev: sisfb: Fix strbuf array overflow

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fbdev: sisfb: Fix strbuf array overflow The values of the variables xres and yres are placed in strbuf. These variables are obtained from strbuf1. The strbuf1 array contains digit characters and a space if the array contains non-digit characters. Then, when executing sprintf(strbuf, "%ux%ux8", xres, yres); more than 16 bytes will be written to strbuf. It is suggested to increase the size of the strbuf array to 24. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.

bpf: Fix out-of-bounds write in trie_get_next_key()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix out-of-bounds write in trie_get_next_key() trie_get_next_key() allocates a node stack with size trie->max_prefixlen, while it writes (trie->max_prefixlen + 1) nodes to the stack when it has full paths from the root to leaves. For example, consider a trie with max_prefixlen is 8, and the nodes with key 0x00/0, 0x00/1, 0x00/2, ... 0x00/8 inserted. Subsequent calls to trie_get_next_key with _key with .prefixlen = 8 make 9 nodes be written on the node stack with size 8.

drivers: media: dvb-frontends/rtl2832: fix an out-of-bounds write error

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drivers: media: dvb-frontends/rtl2832: fix an out-of-bounds write error Ensure index in rtl2832_pid_filter does not exceed 31 to prevent out-of-bounds access. dev->filters is a 32-bit value, so set_bit and clear_bit functions should only operate on indices from 0 to 31. If index is 32, it will attempt to access a non-existent 33rd bit, leading to out-of-bounds access. Change the boundary check from index > 32 to index >= 32 to resolve this issue. [hverkuil: added fixes tag, rtl2830_pid_filter -> rtl2832_pid_filter in logmsg]
