@fastify/static up to and including version 10.1.0 fails to reject dot-dot path segments in request pathnames before the file-resolution stage. This is a bypass of the earlier fix for CVE-2026-6414, which only covered encoded forward slashes. Because the underlying send library normalizes dot segments before applying its own path-traversal guard, an unauthenticated attacker can bypass any route-scoped middleware and read files inside the static root that live under the guarded URL prefix. The bypass does not allow access outside the configured static root by itself, it defeats route-guard filtering only. The issue is patched in @fastify/static 10.1.1.
@fastify/static versions 8.0.0 through 9.1.0 allow path traversal when directory listing is enabled via the list option. The dirList.path() function resolves directories outside the configured static root using path.join() without a containment check. A remote unauthenticated attacker can obtain directory listings for arbitrary directories accessible to the Node.js process, disclosing directory and file names. File contents are not disclosed. Upgrade to @fastify/static 9.1.1 to fix this issue. As a workaround, disable directory listing by removing the list option from the plugin configuration.
The WP User Manager – User Profile Builder & Membership plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Local File Inclusion in all versions up to, and including, 2.9.17 via the (profile template scope) function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to include and execute arbitrary .php files on the server, allowing the execution of any PHP code in those files. This can be used to bypass access controls, obtain sensitive data, or achieve code execution in cases where .php file types can be uploaded and included.
Versions less than 0.1.4 of the static file server module fancy-server are vulnerable to directory traversal. An attacker can provide input such as `../` to read files outside of the served directory.
Esri ArcGIS Server contains a directory traversal vulnerability. ArcGIS Enterprise on Kubernetes is not impacted. An unauthenticated attacker could exploit this issue by sending crafted path parameters. Successful exploitation could allow overwriting sensitive files on the system. Abuse of this issue can allow full administrative access to ArcGIS Server, with high impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability. This issue impacts all versions of ArcGIS Server on Windows and Linux 12.0 and prior. This issue does not impact ArcGIS Enterprise for Kubernetes.
IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.10.0 allows an authenticated attacker to read arbitrary files including the JWT signing key and forge authentication tokens for any user.
Allows the extraction filter to be ignored, allowing symlink targets to point outside the destination directory, and the modification of some file metadata. You are affected by this vulnerability if using the tarfile module to extract untrusted tar archives using TarFile.extractall() or TarFile.extract() using the filter= parameter with a value of "data" or "tar". See the tarfile extraction filters documentation https://docs.python.org/3/library/tarfile.html#tarfile-extraction-filter for more information. Note that for Python 3.14 or later the default value of filter= changed from "no filtering" to `"data", so if you are relying on this new default behavior then your usage is also affected. Note that none of these vulnerabilities significantly affect the installation of source distributions which are tar archives as source distributions already allow arbitrary code execution during the build process. However when evaluating source distributions it's important to avoid installing source distributions with suspicious links.
The epic theme through 2014-09-07 for WordPress allows arbitrary file downloads via the file parameter to includes/download.php.
A vulnerability was found in tombh jekbox. It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects some unknown processing of the file lib/server.rb. The manipulation leads to exposure of information through directory listing. The attack may be initiated remotely. The patch is named 64eb2677671018fc08b96718b81e3dbc83693190. It is recommended to apply a patch to fix this issue. The associated identifier of this vulnerability is VDB-218375.
Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Download in WP Media folder Addon <= 4.0.1 versions.
External input could be used on TEL-STER TelWin SCADA WebInterface to construct paths to files and directories without properly neutralizing special elements within the pathname, which could allow an unauthenticated attacker to read files on the system.
Zephyr's HTTP server (subsys/net/lib/http) provides a static-filesystem resource type (HTTP_RESOURCE_TYPE_STATIC_FS, available when CONFIG_FILE_SYSTEM is enabled) that serves files from a configured root directory. Before this fix, both the HTTP/1 and HTTP/2 front-ends placed the raw, attacker-controlled request path into client->url_buffer (assembled in on_url() for HTTP/1 and copied verbatim from the :path pseudo-header for HTTP/2) without resolving ./.. segments. The static-FS handler then built the on-disk filename by directly concatenating the configured root with that raw URL (snprintk(fname, ..., "%s%s", static_fs_detail->fs_path, client->url_buffer) at http_server_http1.c:603 and http_server_http2.c:490) and opened it with fs_open(fname, FS_O_READ). Because the handler is reached via wildcard/leading-dir (fnmatch FNM_LEADING_DIR) or fallback resource matching, a request such as GET /<prefix>/../../<file> is dispatched to the handler and, after the underlying filesystem (e.g. LittleFS/FAT) resolves the .. segments, escapes the configured web root, letting an unauthenticated remote client read arbitrary readable files on the mounted volume (information disclosure). The HTTP server requires no TLS or authentication to reach this path. The fix adds http_server_remove_dot_segments(), which canonicalizes the path portion of the URL before resource lookup in both protocol handlers, neutralizing the traversal. Affects releases v4.0.0 through v4.4.0 for deployments that register a static-filesystem resource.
OpenWrt luci-app-bmx7 before commit 5890760a454dad2cb00389dba2cdc5e779e0ffdd contains a path traversal vulnerability in the bmx7-info CGI script that allows unauthenticated attackers to read files outside the configured runtimeDir. Attackers can supply directory traversal sequences in the query string to escape the intended directory and read sensitive files accessible to the CGI process.
Grav CMS 2.0.10 contains a path traversal vulnerability in ImageMedium::watermark(), which passes its unsanitized $image argument to RocketTheme\Toolbox\ResourceLocator\UniformResourceLocator::findResource(). Because the file:// scheme branch only lexically collapses '..' segments without a realpath/containment check, an editor authoring Markdown image syntax with traversal sequences can cause arbitrary image files outside Grav's media sandbox to be composited into a carrier image, which is then cached and served from a public, unauthenticated URL — disclosing those files to anonymous visitors.
art-template's sub-template resolution logic (src/compile/adapter/resolve-filename.js), used by both the include() and extend() template directives, resolves the target file path via path.resolve(root, filename) with no check afterward that the result remains inside root. Because path.resolve() discards root entirely when filename is an absolute path, and does not block '../' traversal sequences, and the resolved path is passed directly to fs.readFileSync() in loader.js with its contents compiled and rendered, an application that lets a sub-template name be influenced by external input (e.g. a query parameter passed into {{include page}}) allows an attacker to read arbitrary files on disk that the Node process can access.
Pre-authentication path traversal vulnerability in SMA1000 firmware version 12.4.2, which allows an unauthenticated attacker to access arbitrary files and directories stored outside the web root directory.
Meshery before 1.0.57 contains an unauthenticated arbitrary file read vulnerability in the /api/system/fileView and /api/system/fileDownload endpoints that pass user-supplied file parameters directly to os.Open without path validation. Attackers can supply absolute paths or traversal sequences in the file parameter to read arbitrary files from the host filesystem without authentication.
Kyocera Command Center RX ECOSYS M2035dn contains a directory traversal vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to read sensitive system files by manipulating file paths under the /js/ path. Attackers can exploit the issue by sending requests like /js/../../../../.../etc/passwd%00.jpg (null-byte appended traversal) to access critical files such as /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow.
Microweber CMS through 2.0.20 contains a path traversal vulnerability in the static file controller that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to read arbitrary files by supplying directory traversal sequences in the path query parameter. Attackers can send a single unauthenticated HTTP GET request exploiting the failure of normalize_path() to strip traversal sequences, disclosing sensitive files such as environment configuration files containing credentials and system files.
Joomla Extension - balbooa.com - Unauthenticated arbitrary file read in Gridbox < 2.20.2 - The photo viewer allows unauthenticated attackers to view arbitrary files.
The Salon Booking System – Free Version plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Arbitrary File Read in versions up to, and including, 10.30.25. This is due to the public booking flow accepting attacker-controlled file-field values and later using those stored values as trusted paths for email attachments. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to read arbitrary local files and exfiltrate them via booking confirmation email attachments.
Banks generates meaningful LLM prompts using a simple template language. In versions prior to 2.4.4, all four media filters (image, audio, video, document) in banks accept untrusted user input as file paths via Path(value) and pass them directly to open(file_path, "rb") without any path sanitization, canonicalization, or directory restriction. An attacker who controls template variables passed to a banks Prompt can use path traversal (../) to read arbitrary files accessible to the Python process—including .env files, SSH keys, cloud credentials, source code, /etc/passwd, and /etc/shadow—with the content returned base64-encoded in the rendered prompt output, making exfiltration trivial. This is particularly dangerous for applications that use banks to process user-provided template variables before sending prompts to an LLM. This issue has been fixed in version 2.4.4.
Weaver (Fanwei) E-cology 9.5 versions prior to 10.52 contain an arbitrary file read vulnerability in the XmlRpcServlet interface at the XML-RPC endpoint that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to read arbitrary files by supplying file paths to the WorkflowService.getAttachment and WorkflowService.LoadTemplateProp methods. Attackers can exploit these methods without authentication to retrieve sensitive files including system configuration files and database credentials from the server. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2022-12-14 (UTC).
WordPress 6.9.x before 6.9.5 and 7.0.x before 7.0.2 is affected by a REST API batch endpoint route confusion issue which, combined with the author__not_in WP_Query SQL Injection (CVE-2026-60137), could allow an attacker to perform SQL Injection and achieve Remote Code Execution.
The Quick Playground plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Path Traversal in versions up to and including 1.3.3. This is due to insufficient path validation in the qckply_zip_theme() function, which appends a user-controlled 'stylesheet' parameter directly to the theme root directory path without sanitizing directory traversal sequences. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to trigger the creation of a ZIP archive containing arbitrary files from the server's filesystem — including wp-config.
Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability in Apache Jena Fuseki. This issue affects Apache Jena Fuseki: through 6.1.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 6.2.0, which fixes the issue.
An issue was discovered in CMS Made Simple 2.2.8. It is possible to achieve unauthenticated path traversal in the CGExtensions module (in the file action.setdefaulttemplate.php) with the m1_filename parameter; and through the action.showmessage.php file, it is possible to read arbitrary file content (by using that path traversal with m1_prefname set to cg_errormsg and m1_resettodefault=1).
WordPress Plugin HB Audio Gallery Lite 1.0.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to download arbitrary files by manipulating the file_path parameter. Attackers can send requests to the audio-download.php endpoint with directory traversal sequences to access sensitive files like wp-config.php outside the intended gallery directory.
Directory traversal vulnerability in the web interface in AVTECH PageR Enterprise before 5.0.7 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via directory traversal sequences in the URI.
Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability in Arture B.V. StoreContrl Woocommerce storecontrl-wp-connection allows Path Traversal. This issue affects StoreContrl Woocommerce: from n/a through <= 4.1.3.
Cockpit CMS through 2.14.0 contains a path traversal and local file inclusion vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to read arbitrary files or execute PHP files by including unvalidated PATH_INFO derived from REQUEST_URI in filesystem path construction without containment checks. Attackers can inject dot-dot sequences into the URL to traverse outside the designated spaces directory, and when the resolved path ends with a .php extension, the application passes it to include(), enabling local file inclusion on deployments using the PHP built-in server or certain non-default Nginx configurations.
ComfyUI is a modular diffusion model GUI, api and backend with a graph/nodes interface. Prior to 0.28.0, get_model_preview in app/model_manager.py joins an unrestricted filename route capture to a selected model directory without a containment check, allowing an unauthenticated remote attacker to use traversal, encoded traversal, absolute paths, or an unbounded path_index to read image-decodable files and enumerate host paths. get_model_preview (app/model_manager.py) built the path with os.path.join(folder, filename) where filename is an unrestricted {filename:.*} route capture. Literal ../, percent-encoded %2e%2e%2f, and absolute paths all escaped the model directory; path_index was also unbounded. The target file is piped through Pillow and re-encoded as WEBP, so disclosure is limited to image-decodable files plus a file-existence/enumeration oracle (and internal-path leakage via path_index errors). This issue is fixed in version 0.28.0.
StreamX applications from versions 6.02.01 to 6.04.34 are affected by a logic bug that allows to bypass the implemented authentication scheme. StreamX applications using StreamView HTML component with the public web server feature activated are affected.
ComfyUI is a modular diffusion model GUI, API, and backend with a graph-and-node interface. Prior to 0.28.0, folder_paths.get_annotated_filepath and exists_annotated_filepath join workflow-controlled annotated filenames to a base directory without a containment check, allowing an unauthenticated crafted POST /prompt workflow using LoadImage or sibling nodes to probe arbitrary host paths and exfiltrate image-format files through /view. LoadImage defines a VALIDATE_INPUTS method, which causes the execution engine to skip COMBO (input-directory) validation. Affected nodes include LoadImage, LoadImageMask, LoadImageOutput, LoadAudio, LoadLatent, LoadVideo, and Load3D. This issue is fixed in version 0.28.0.
3CX before 18 Hotfix 1 build 18.0.3.461 on Windows allows unauthenticated remote attackers to read %WINDIR%\system32 files via /Electron/download directory traversal in conjunction with a path component that has a drive letter and uses backslash characters. NOTE: this issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2022-28005.
datamodel-code-generator generates Python data models from schema definitions. From 0.59.0 until 0.62.0, XML Schema parsing in src/datamodel_code_generator/parser/xmlschema.py for --input-file-type xmlschema resolves xs:include, xs:import, xs:redefine, and xs:override schemaLocation values outside the input base path, allowing arbitrary local files to be read and reflected into generated models. This issue is fixed in version 0.62.0.
Handlebars.java provides logic-less and semantic Mustache templates with Java. Prior to 4.5.2, applications that pass user-controlled input to Handlebars.compile() using FileTemplateLoader or ClassPathTemplateLoader are vulnerable to path traversal, allowing arbitrary file read through template names derived from URL path parameters, request parameters, or other user-controlled sources. This issue is fixed in version 4.5.2.
Echo is a Go web framework. Prior to 4.15.3 and 5.2.0, Echo's router and static file handler disagree on URL path decoding. The router matches routes using the raw encoded path (preserving %2F as-is), while StaticDirectoryHandler unescapes %2F to / before resolving filesystem paths. This allows an attacker to bypass route-level access controls and read static files without authorization. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.15.3 and 5.2.0.
AeroCMS v0.0.1 is vulnerable to Directory Traversal. The impact is: obtain sensitive information (remote). The component is: AeroCMS v0.0.1.
Kodexplorer is a chinese language web based file manager and browser based code editor. Versions prior to 4.50 did not prevent unauthenticated users from requesting arbitrary files from the host OS file system. As a result any files available to the host process may be accessed by arbitrary users. This issue has been addressed in version 4.50. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this issue.
NLTK (Natural Language Toolkit) is a suite of open source Python modules, data sets, and tutorials supporting research and development in Natural Language Processing. Prior to 3.10.0-rc1, nltk.data.load() in NLTK is vulnerable to path traversal via URL-encoded path separators and traversal segments when using the nltk: URL scheme. The unsafe-path regex check is performed before url2pathname() decodes the %xx sequences (a classic decode-after-check / TOCTOU-style flaw), allowing an attacker to bypass the protection documented in NLTK's SECURITY.md and read arbitrary files from the filesystem. While literal traversal strings such as ../../../etc/passwd are correctly blocked, encoded variants such as %2fetc%2fpasswd, %2e%2e%2f..., and ..%2f..%2f slip past the regex and are subsequently decoded into a real filesystem path. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.10.0-rc1.
An issue was discovered on the D-Link DWR-932B router. qmiweb allows file reading with ..%2f traversal.
IdentityIQ 8.3 and all 8.3 patch levels prior to 8.3p2, IdentityIQ 8.2 and all 8.2 patch levels prior to 8.2p5, IdentityIQ 8.1 and all 8.1 patch levels prior to 8.1p7, IdentityIQ 8.0 and all 8.0 patch levels prior to 8.0p6 allow access to arbitrary files in the application server filesystem due to a path traversal vulnerability in JavaServer Faces (JSF) 2.2.20 documented in CVE-2020-6950.
Black Box KVM Firmware version 3.4.31307 on models ACR1000A-R-R2, ACR1000A-T-R2, ACR1002A-T, ACR1002A-R, and ACR1020A-T is vulnerable to path traversal, which may allow an attacker to steal user credentials and other sensitive information through local file inclusion.
An issue was discovered on the D-Link DWR-932B router. qmiweb allows directory listing with ../ traversal.
WebP Server Go through 0.14.4 contains a path traversal vulnerability on Windows that allows unauthenticated attackers to read files outside the configured IMG_PATH directory by sending requests with percent-encoded backslashes (%5C) that bypass the path.Clean() sanitization in handler/router.go. Attackers can exploit the discrepancy between Go's forward-slash-only path normalization and Windows file system APIs that treat backslashes and forward slashes as equivalent to access arbitrary files on the host filesystem accessible to the server process.
A vulnerability in the descarga_etiqueta.php component of Correos Prestashop 1.7.x allows attackers to execute a directory traversal.
The Forminator Forms – Contact Form, Payment Form & Custom Form Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Path Traversal in versions up to, and including, 1.52.1 via the 'upload-1[file][file_path]' parameter. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information. Successful exploitation requires a publicly accessible form with a File Upload field where Save and Continue is enabled in that form's Behavior settings and the Save and Continue email notification is configured to attach uploaded files in Email Notifications.
Caddy is an extensible server platform that uses TLS by default. Prior to 2.11.4, on Windows, Caddy path matchers treat /private\secret.txt as outside /private/*, but file_server later resolves the same request path as private\secret.txt on disk. An unauthenticated remote client can bypass Caddy path-scoped auth/deny routes protecting /private/*. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.11.4.
Music Player Daemon (MPD) before version 0.24.11 contains a path traversal vulnerability in LocalStorage::MapFSOrThrow and LocalStorage::MapUTF8 within the local storage plugin, where the on-disk path is constructed by joining the storage root with a user-supplied URI as plain strings without canonicalization, allowing '..' segments to survive into the resolved path and be flattened by the kernel at openat() time. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this flaw using the listfiles command to enumerate names, sizes, and modification times of arbitrary directories readable by the MPD process, and the albumart command to read image files in any attacker-chosen directory outside the configured music_directory.
