Effect Bug: `AsyncLocalStorage` context lost/contaminated inside Effect fibers under concurrent load with RPC

Effect is a TypeScript framework that consists of several packages that work together to help build TypeScript applications. Prior to version 3.20.0, when using `RpcServer.toWebHandler` (or `HttpApp.toWebHandlerRuntime`) inside a Next.js App Router route handler, any Node.js `AsyncLocalStorage`-dependent API called from within an Effect fiber can read another concurrent request's context — or no context at all. Under production traffic, `auth()` from `@clerk/nextjs/server` returns a different user's session. Version 3.20.0 contains a fix for the issue.

Race condition in Zulip

Zulip is an open source group chat application. Starting with version 4.0 and prior to version 4.11, Zulip is vulnerable to a race condition during account deactivation, where a simultaneous access by the user being deactivated may, in rare cases, allow continued access by the deactivated user. A patch is available in version 4.11 on the 4.x branch and version 5.0-rc1 on the 5.x branch. Upgrading to a fixed version will, as a side effect, deactivate any cached sessions that may have been leaked through this bug. There are currently no known workarounds.

Parse Server OAuth2 adapter shares mutable state across providers via singleton instance

Parse Server is an open source backend that can be deployed to any infrastructure that can run Node.js. Prior to 9.6.0-alpha.11 and 8.6.37, Parse Server's built-in OAuth2 auth adapter exports a singleton instance that is reused directly across all OAuth2 provider configurations. Under concurrent authentication requests for different OAuth2 providers, one provider's token validation may execute using another provider's configuration, potentially allowing a token that should be rejected by one provider to be accepted because it is validated against a different provider's policy. Deployments that configure multiple OAuth2 providers via the oauth2: true flag are affected. This vulnerability is fixed in 9.6.0-alpha.11 and 8.6.37.

BuildKit possible race condition with accessing subpaths from cache mounts

BuildKit is a toolkit for converting source code to build artifacts in an efficient, expressive and repeatable manner. Two malicious build steps running in parallel sharing the same cache mounts with subpaths could cause a race condition that can lead to files from the host system being accessible to the build container. The issue has been fixed in v0.12.5. Workarounds include, avoiding using BuildKit frontend from an untrusted source or building an untrusted Dockerfile containing cache mounts with --mount=type=cache,source=... options.

Race Condition allows Bypass of Trust Restrictions

In Eclipse Jersey versions 2.45, 3.0.16, 3.1.9 a race condition can cause ignoring of critical SSL configurations - such as mutual authentication, custom key/trust stores, and other security settings. This issue may result in SSLHandshakeException under normal circumstances, but under certain conditions, it could lead to unauthorized trust in insecure servers (see PoC)
