A vulnerability exists in SenseLive X3050’s web management interface in which password updates are not reliably applied due to improper handling of credential changes on the backend. After the device undergoes a factory restore using the SenseLive Config 2.0 tool, the interface may indicate that the password update was successful; however, the system may continue to accept the previous or default credentials, demonstrating that the password-change process is not consistently enforced. Even after a factory reset, attempted password changes may fail to propagate correctly.
A vulnerability in SenseLive X3050’s embedded management service allows full administrative control to be established without any form of authentication or authorization on the SenseLive config application. The service accepts management connections from any reachable host, enabling unrestricted modification of critical configuration parameters, operational modes, and device state through a vendor-supplied or compatible client.

An attacker with network access to the device may be able to bypass the intended authentication mechanism and directly interact with sensitive configuration functions.
A vulnerability in SenseLive X3050’s remote management service allows firmware retrieval and update operations to be performed without authentication or authorization. The service accepts firmware-related requests from any reachable host and does not verify user privileges, integrity of uploaded images, or the authenticity of provided firmware.

A vulnerability in the Cisco Small Business Switches software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass the user authentication mechanism of an affected device. The vulnerability exists because under specific circumstances, the affected software enables a privileged user account without notifying administrators of the system. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by using this account to log in to an affected device and execute commands with full admin rights. Cisco has not released software updates that address this vulnerability. This advisory will be updated with fixed software information once fixed software becomes available. There is a workaround to address this vulnerability.

Honeywell ControlEdge through R151.1 uses Hard-coded Credentials. According to FSCT-2022-0056, there is a Honeywell ControlEdge hardcoded credentials issue. The affected components are characterized as: SSH. The potential impact is: Remote code execution, manipulate configuration, denial of service. The Honeywell ControlEdge PLC and RTU product line exposes an SSH service on port 22/TCP. Login as root to this service is permitted and credentials for the root user are hardcoded without automatically changing them upon first commissioning. The credentials for the SSH service are hardcoded in the firmware. The credentials grant an attacker access to a root shell on the PLC/RTU, allowing for remote code execution, configuration manipulation and denial of service.
A hard-coded password vulnerability exists in the telnet functionality of Abode Systems, Inc. iota All-In-One Security Kit 6.9Z. Use of a hard-coded root password can lead to arbitrary command execution. An attacker can authenticate with hard-coded credentials to trigger this vulnerability.
Echelon SmartServer 2.2 with i.LON Vision 2.2 stores cleartext credentials in a file, which could allow an attacker to obtain cleartext usernames and passwords of the SmartServer. If the attacker obtains the file, then the credentials could be used to control the web user interface and file transfer protocol (FTP) server.
The Motorola ACE1000 RTU through 2022-05-02 ships with a hardcoded SSH private key and initialization scripts (such as /etc/init.d/sshd_service) only generate a new key if no private-key file exists. Thus, this hardcoded key is likely to be used by default.
The Motorola ACE1000 RTU through 2022-05-02 uses ECB encryption unsafely. It can communicate with an XRT LAN-to-radio gateway by means of an embedded client. Credentials for accessing this gateway are stored after being encrypted with the Tiny Encryption Algorithm (TEA) in ECB mode using a hardcoded key. Similarly, the ACE1000 RTU can route MDLC traffic over Extended Command and Management Protocol (XCMP) and Network Layer (XNL) networks via the MDLC driver. Authentication to the XNL port is protected by TEA in ECB mode using a hardcoded key.
The Bently Nevada 3700 series of condition monitoring equipment through 2022-04-29 has a maintenance interface on port 4001/TCP with undocumented, hardcoded credentials. An attacker capable of connecting to this interface can thus trivially take over its functionality.
Rundeck is an open source automation service with a web console, command line tools and a WebAPI. Rundeck community and rundeck-enterprise docker images contained a pre-generated SSH keypair. If the id_rsa.pub public key of the keypair was copied to authorized_keys files on remote host, those hosts would allow access to anyone with the exposed private credentials. This misconfiguration only impacts Rundeck Docker instances of PagerDuty® Process Automation On Prem (formerly Rundeck) version 4.0 and earlier, not Debian, RPM or .WAR. Additionally, the id_rsa.pub file would have to be copied from the Docker image filesystem contents without overwriting it and used to configure SSH access on a host. A patch on Rundeck's `main` branch has removed the pre-generated SSH key pair, but it does not remove exposed keys that have been configured. To patch, users must run a script on hosts in their environment to search for exposed keys and rotate them. Two workarounds are available: Do not use any pre-existing public key file from the rundeck docker images to allow SSH access by adding it to authorized_keys files and, if you have copied the public key file included in the docker image, remove it from any authorized_keys files.

TOTOLINK A3100R V4.1.2cu.5050_B20200504 and V4.1.2cu.5247_B20211129 were discovered to contain a hard coded password for root stored in the component /etc/shadow.sample.
An issue was discovered on D-Link DCS-1100 and DCS-1130 devices. The device has a custom telnet daemon as a part of the busybox and retrieves the password from the shadow file using the function getspnam at address 0x00053894. Then performs a crypt operation on the password retrieved from the user at address 0x000538E0 and performs a strcmp at address 0x00053908 to check if the password is correct or incorrect. However, the /etc/shadow file is a part of CRAM-FS filesystem which means that the user cannot change the password and hence a hardcoded hash in /etc/shadow is used to match the credentials provided by the user. This is a salted hash of the string "admin" and hence it acts as a password to the device which cannot be changed as the whole filesystem is read only.
An issue was discovered on Marbella KR8s Dashcam FF 2.0.8 devices. All dashcams were shipped with the same default credentials of 12345678, which creates an insecure-by-default condition. For users who change their passwords, it's limited to 8 characters. These short passwords can be cracked in 8 hours via low-end commercial cloud resources.
The Atlassian Questions For Confluence app for Confluence Server and Data Center creates a Confluence user account in the confluence-users group with the username disabledsystemuser and a hardcoded password. A remote, unauthenticated attacker with knowledge of the hardcoded password could exploit this to log into Confluence and access all content accessible to users in the confluence-users group. This user account is created when installing versions 2.7.34, 2.7.35, and 3.0.2 of the app.
ASUS WebStorage has a hardcoded API Token in the APP source code. An unauthenticated remote attacker can use this token to establish connections with the server and carry out login attempts to general user accounts. A successful login to a general user account allows the attacker to access, modify or delete this user account information.

A remote attacker with the knowledge of the default password may potentially use these accounts to run arbitrary web service and remote procedure calls on the affected system.
DragonWave Horizon 1.01.03 wireless radios have hardcoded login credentials (such as the username of energetic and password of wireless) meant to allow the vendor to access the devices. These credentials can be used in the web interface or by connecting to the device via TELNET. This is fixed in recent versions including 1.4.8.

Trend Micro ServerProtect 6.0/5.8 Information Server uses a static credential to perform authentication when a specific command is typed in the console. An unauthenticated remote attacker with access to the Information Server could exploit this to register to the server and perform authenticated actions.

A successful exploit could allow the attacker to gain full control of an affected device.
Goldshell ASIC Miners v2.1.x was discovered to contain hardcoded credentials which allow attackers to remotely connect via the SSH protocol (port 22).
Schneider Electric SoMachine Basic 1.4 SP1 and Schneider Electric Modicon TM221CE16R 1.3.3.3 devices have a hardcoded-key vulnerability. The Project Protection feature is used to prevent unauthorized users from opening an XML protected project file, by prompting the user for a password. This XML file is AES-CBC encrypted; however, the key used for encryption (SoMachineBasicSoMachineBasicSoMa) cannot be changed. After decrypting the XML file with this key, the user password can be found in the decrypted data. After reading the user password, the project can be opened and modified with the Schneider product.
Baicells Nova436Q and Neutrino 430 devices with firmware through QRTB 2.7.8 have hardcoded credentials that are easily discovered, and can be used by remote attackers to authenticate via ssh. (The credentials are stored in the firmware, encrypted by the crypt function.)

The firmware of all Wattsense Bridge devices contain the same hard-coded user and root credentials. The user password can be easily recovered via password cracking attempts.
