rbd: fix null-ptr-deref when device_add_disk() fails

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rbd: fix null-ptr-deref when device_add_disk() fails do_rbd_add() publishes the device with device_add() before calling device_add_disk(). If device_add_disk() fails after device_add() succeeds, the error path calls rbd_free_disk() directly and then later falls through to rbd_dev_device_release(), which calls rbd_free_disk() again. This double teardown can leave blk-mq cleanup operating on invalid state and trigger a null-ptr-deref in __blk_mq_free_map_and_rqs(), reached from blk_mq_free_tag_set(). Fix this by following the normal remove ordering: call device_del() before rbd_dev_device_release() when device_add_disk() fails after device_add(). That keeps the teardown sequence consistent and avoids re-entering disk cleanup through the wrong path. The bug was first flagged by an experimental analysis tool we are developing for kernel memory-management bugs while analyzing v6.13-rc1. The tool is still under development and is not yet publicly available. We reproduced the bug on v7.0 with a real Ceph backend and a QEMU x86_64 guest booted with KASAN and CONFIG_FAILSLAB enabled. The reproducer confines failslab injections to the __add_disk() range and injects fail-nth while mapping an RBD image through /sys/bus/rbd/add_single_major. On the unpatched kernel, fail-nth=4 reliably triggered the fault: Oops: general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address 0xdffffc0000000000: 0000 [#1] SMP KASAN NOPTI KASAN: null-ptr-deref in range [0x0000000000000000-0x0000000000000007] CPU: 0 UID: 0 PID: 273 Comm: bash Not tainted 7.0.0-01247-gd60bc1401583 #6 PREEMPT(lazy) Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (Q35 + ICH9, 2009), BIOS 1.15.0-1 04/01/2014 RIP: 0010:__blk_mq_free_map_and_rqs+0x8c/0x240 Code: 00 00 48 8b 6b 60 41 89 f4 49 c1 e4 03 4c 01 e5 45 85 ed 0f 85 0a 01 00 00 48 b8 00 00 00 00 00 fc ff df 48 89 e9 48 c1 e9 03 <80> 3c 01 00 0f 85 31 01 00 00 4c 8b 6d 00 4d 85 ed 0f 84 e2 00 00 RSP: 0018:ff1100000ab0fac8 EFLAGS: 00000246 RAX: dffffc0000000000 RBX: ff1100000c4806a0 RCX: 0000000000000000 RDX: 0000000000000002 RSI: 0000000000000000 RDI: ff1100000c4806f4 RBP: 0000000000000000 R08: 0000000000000001 R09: ffe21c000189001b R10: ff1100000c4800df R11: ff1100006cf37be0 R12: 0000000000000000 R13: 0000000000000000 R14: ff1100000c480700 R15: ff1100000c480004 FS: 00007f0fbe8fe740(0000) GS:ff110000e5851000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 CR2: 00007fe53473b2e0 CR3: 0000000012eef000 CR4: 00000000007516f0 PKRU: 55555554 Call Trace: <TASK> blk_mq_free_tag_set+0x77/0x460 do_rbd_add+0x1446/0x2b80 ? __pfx_do_rbd_add+0x10/0x10 ? lock_acquire+0x18c/0x300 ? find_held_lock+0x2b/0x80 ? sysfs_file_kobj+0xb6/0x1b0 ? __pfx_sysfs_kf_write+0x10/0x10 kernfs_fop_write_iter+0x2f4/0x4a0 vfs_write+0x98e/0x1000 ? expand_files+0x51f/0x850 ? __pfx_vfs_write+0x10/0x10 ksys_write+0xf2/0x1d0 ? __pfx_ksys_write+0x10/0x10 do_syscall_64+0x115/0x690 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f RIP: 0033:0x7f0fbea15907 Code: 10 00 f7 d8 64 89 02 48 c7 c0 ff ff ff ff eb b7 0f 1f 00 f3 0f 1e fa 64 8b 04 25 18 00 00 00 85 c0 75 10 b8 01 00 00 00 0f 05 <48> 3d 00 f0 ff ff 77 51 c3 48 83 ec 28 48 89 54 24 18 48 89 74 24 RSP: 002b:00007ffe22346ea8 EFLAGS: 00000246 ORIG_RAX: 0000000000000001 RAX: ffffffffffffffda RBX: 0000000000000058 RCX: 00007f0fbea15907 RDX: 0000000000000058 RSI: 0000563ace6c0ef0 RDI: 0000000000000001 RBP: 0000563ace6c0ef0 R08: 0000563ace6c0ef0 R09: 6b6435726d694141 R10: 5250337279762f78 R11: 0000000000000246 R12: 0000000000000058 R13: 00007f0fbeb1c780 R14: ff1100000c480700 R15: ff1100000c480004 </TASK> With this fix applied, rerunning the reproducer over fail-nth=1..256 yields no KASAN reports. On the unpatched kernel, fail-nth=4 reliably triggered the fault: Oops: general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address 0xdffffc0000000000: 0000 [#1] SMP KASAN NOPTI KASAN: null-ptr-deref in range [0x0000000000000000-0x0000000000000007] CPU: 0 UID: 0 PID: 273 Comm: bash Not tainted 7.0.0-01247-gd60bc1401583 #6 PREEMPT(lazy) Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (Q35 + ICH9, 2009), BIOS 1.15.0-1 04/01/2014 RIP: 0010:__blk_mq_free_map_and_rqs+0x8c/0x240 Code: 00 00 48 8b 6b 60 41 89 f4 49 c1 e4 03 4c 01 e5 45 85 ed 0f 85 0a 01 00 00 48 b8 00 00 00 00 00 fc ff df 48 89 e9 48 c1 e9 03 <80> 3c 01 00 0f 85 31 01 00 00 4c 8b 6d 00 4d 85 ed 0f 84 e2 00 00 RSP: 0018:ff1100000ab0fac8 EFLAGS: 00000246 RAX: dffffc0000000000 RBX: ff1100000c4806a0 RCX: 0000000000000000 RDX: 0000000000000002 RSI: 0000000000000000 RDI: ff1100000c4806f4 RBP: 0000000000000000 R08: 0000000000000001 R09: ffe21c000189001b R10: ff1100000c4800df R11: ff1100006cf37be0 R12: 0000000000000000 R13: 0000000000000000 R14: ff1100000c480700 R15: ff1100000c480004 FS: 00007f0fbe8fe740(0000) GS:ff110000e5851000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 CR2: 00007fe53473b2e0 CR3: 0000000012eef000 CR4: 00000000007516f0 PKRU: 55555554 Call Trace: <TASK> blk_mq_free_tag_set+0x77/0x460 do_rbd_add+0x1446/0x2b80 ? __pfx_do_rbd_add+0x10/0x10 ? lock_acquire+0x18c/0x300 ? find_held_lock+0x2b/0x80 ? sysfs_file_kobj+0xb6/0x1b0 ? __pfx_sysfs_kf_write+0x10/0x10 kernfs_fop_write_iter+0x2f4/0x4a0 vfs_write+0x98e/0x1000 ? expand_files+0x51f/0x850 ? __pfx_vfs_write+0x10/0x10 ksys_write+0xf2/0x1d0 ? __pfx_ksys_write+0x10/0x10 do_syscall_64+0x115/0x690 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f RIP: 0033:0x7f0fbea15907 Code: 10 00 f7 d8 64 89 02 48 c7 c0 ff ff ff ff eb b7 0f 1f 00 f3 0f 1e fa 64 8b 04 25 18 00 00 00 85 c0 75 10 b8 01 00 00 00 0f 05 <48> 3d 00 f0 ff ff 77 51 c3 48 83 ec 28 48 89 54 24 18 48 89 74 24 RSP: 002b:00007ffe22346ea8 EFLAGS: 00000246 ORIG_RAX: 0000000000000001 RAX: ffffffffffffffda RBX: 0000000000000058 RCX: 00007f0fbea15907 RDX: 0000000000000058 RSI: 0000563ace6c0ef0 RDI: 0000000000000001 RBP: 0000563ace6c0ef0 R08: 0000563ace6c0ef0 R09: 6b6435726d694141 R10: 5250337279762f78 R11: 0000000000000246 R12: 0000000000000058 R13: 00007f0fbeb1c780 R14: ff1100000c480700 R15: ff1100000c480004 </TASK> With this fix applied, rerunning the reproducer over fail-nth=1..256 yields no KASAN reports. xfrm: policy: fix metadata dst->dev xmit null pointer dereference

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: policy: fix metadata dst->dev xmit null pointer dereference When we try to transmit an skb with metadata_dst attached (i.e. dst->dev == NULL) through xfrm interface we can hit a null pointer dereference[1] in xfrmi_xmit2() -> xfrm_lookup_with_ifid() due to the check for a loopback skb device when there's no policy which dereferences dst->dev unconditionally. Not having dst->dev can be interepreted as it not being a loopback device, so just add a check for a null dst_orig->dev. With this fix xfrm interface's Tx error counters go up as usual. crypto: af_alg - Fix missing initialisation affecting gcm-aes-s390

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: af_alg - Fix missing initialisation affecting gcm-aes-s390 Fix af_alg_alloc_areq() to initialise areq->first_rsgl.sgl.sgt.sgl to point to the scatterlist array in areq->first_rsgl.sgl.sgl. Without this, the gcm-aes-s390 driver will oops when it tries to do gcm_walk_start() on req->dst because req->dst is set to the value of areq->first_rsgl.sgl.sgl by _aead_recvmsg() calling aead_request_set_crypt(). The problem comes if an empty ciphertext is passed: the loop in af_alg_get_rsgl() just passes straight out and doesn't set areq->first_rsgl up. This isn't a problem on x86_64 using gcmaes_crypt_by_sg() because, as far as I can tell, that ignores req->dst and only uses req->src[*]. [*] Is this a bug in aesni-intel_glue.c? The s390x oops looks something like: Unable to handle kernel pointer dereference in virtual kernel address space Failing address: 0000000a00000000 TEID: 0000000a00000803 Fault in home space mode while using kernel ASCE. skbuff: skb_segment, Call zero copy functions before using skbuff frags

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: skbuff: skb_segment, Call zero copy functions before using skbuff frags Commit bf5c25d60861 ("skbuff: in skb_segment, call zerocopy functions once per nskb") added the call to zero copy functions in skb_segment(). The change introduced a bug in skb_segment() because skb_orphan_frags() may possibly change the number of fragments or allocate new fragments altogether leaving nrfrags and frag to point to the old values. This can cause a panic with stacktrace like the one below. [ 193.894380] BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 00000000000000bc [ 193.895273] CPU: 13 PID: 18164 Comm: vh-net-17428 Kdump: loaded Tainted: G O 5.15.123+ #26 [ 193.903919] RIP: 0010:skb_segment+0xb0e/0x12f0 [ 194.021892] Call Trace: [ 194.027422] <TASK> [ 194.072861] tcp_gso_segment+0x107/0x540 [ 194.082031] inet_gso_segment+0x15c/0x3d0 [ 194.090783] skb_mac_gso_segment+0x9f/0x110 [ 194.095016] __skb_gso_segment+0xc1/0x190 [ 194.103131] netem_enqueue+0x290/0xb10 [sch_netem] [ 194.107071] dev_qdisc_enqueue+0x16/0x70 [ 194.110884] __dev_queue_xmit+0x63b/0xb30 [ 194.121670] bond_start_xmit+0x159/0x380 [bonding] [ 194.128506] dev_hard_start_xmit+0xc3/0x1e0 [ 194.131787] __dev_queue_xmit+0x8a0/0xb30 [ 194.138225] macvlan_start_xmit+0x4f/0x100 [macvlan] [ 194.141477] dev_hard_start_xmit+0xc3/0x1e0 [ 194.144622] sch_direct_xmit+0xe3/0x280 [ 194.147748] __dev_queue_xmit+0x54a/0xb30 [ 194.154131] tap_get_user+0x2a8/0x9c0 [tap] [ 194.157358] tap_sendmsg+0x52/0x8e0 [tap] [ 194.167049] handle_tx_zerocopy+0x14e/0x4c0 [vhost_net] [ 194.173631] handle_tx+0xcd/0xe0 [vhost_net] [ 194.176959] vhost_worker+0x76/0xb0 [vhost] [ 194.183667] kthread+0x118/0x140 [ 194.190358] ret_from_fork+0x1f/0x30 [ 194.193670] </TASK> In this case calling skb_orphan_frags() updated nr_frags leaving nrfrags local variable in skb_segment() stale. This resulted in the code hitting i >= nrfrags prematurely and trying to move to next frag_skb using list_skb pointer, which was NULL, and caused kernel panic. Move the call to zero copy functions before using frags and nr_frags.

net: fix NULL pointer in skb_segment_list

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: fix NULL pointer in skb_segment_list Commit 3a1296a38d0c ("net: Support GRO/GSO fraglist chaining.") introduced UDP listifyed GRO. The segmentation relies on frag_list being untouched when passing through the network stack. This assumption can be broken sometimes, where frag_list itself gets pulled into linear area, leaving frag_list being NULL. When this happens it can trigger following NULL pointer dereference, and panic the kernel. Reverse the test condition should fix it. x86/i8259: Mark legacy PIC interrupts with IRQ_LEVEL

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/i8259: Mark legacy PIC interrupts with IRQ_LEVEL Baoquan reported that after triggering a crash the subsequent crash-kernel fails to boot about half of the time. It triggers a NULL pointer dereference in the periodic tick code. This happens because the legacy timer interrupt (IRQ0) is resent in software which happens in soft interrupt (tasklet) context. In this context get_irq_regs() returns NULL which leads to the NULL pointer dereference. The reason for the resend is a spurious APIC interrupt on the IRQ0 vector which is captured and leads to a resend when the legacy timer interrupt is enabled. This is wrong because the legacy PIC interrupts are level triggered and therefore should never be resent in software, but nothing ever sets the IRQ_LEVEL flag on those interrupts, so the core code does not know about their trigger type. Ensure that IRQ_LEVEL is set when the legacy PCI interrupts are set up.

pwm: lpc32xx: Remove handling of PWM channels

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: pwm: lpc32xx: Remove handling of PWM channels Because LPC32xx PWM controllers have only a single output which is registered as the only PWM device/channel per controller, it is known in advance that pwm->hwpwm value is always 0. On basis of this fact simplify the code by removing operations with pwm->hwpwm, there is no controls which require channel number as input. Even though I wasn't aware at the time when I forward ported that patch, this fixes a null pointer dereference as lpc32xx->chip.pwms is NULL before devm_pwmchip_add() is called.

ALSA: hda: fix a possible null-pointer dereference due to data race in snd_hdac_regmap_sync()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: hda: fix a possible null-pointer dereference due to data race in snd_hdac_regmap_sync() The variable codec->regmap is often protected by the lock codec->regmap_lock when is accessed. However, it is accessed without holding the lock when is accessed in snd_hdac_regmap_sync(): if (codec->regmap) In my opinion, this may be a harmful race, because if codec->regmap is set to NULL right after the condition is checked, a null-pointer dereference can occur in the called function regcache_sync(): map->lock(map->lock_arg); --> Line 360 in drivers/base/regmap/regcache.c To fix this possible null-pointer dereference caused by data race, the mutex_lock coverage is extended to protect the if statement as well as the function call to regcache_sync(). [ Note: the lack of the regmap_lock itself is harmless for the current codec driver implementations, as snd_hdac_regmap_sync() is only for PM runtime resume that is prohibited during the codec probe. But the change makes the whole code more consistent, so it's merged as is -- tiwai ]

fscrypt: destroy keyring after security_sb_delete()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fscrypt: destroy keyring after security_sb_delete() fscrypt_destroy_keyring() must be called after all potentially-encrypted inodes were evicted; otherwise it cannot safely destroy the keyring. Since inodes that are in-use by the Landlock LSM don't get evicted until security_sb_delete(), this means that fscrypt_destroy_keyring() must be called *after* security_sb_delete(). This fixes a WARN_ON followed by a NULL dereference, only possible if Landlock was being used on encrypted files.

bcache: Fix __bch_btree_node_alloc to make the failure behavior consistent

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bcache: Fix __bch_btree_node_alloc to make the failure behavior consistent In some specific situations, the return value of __bch_btree_node_alloc may be NULL. This may lead to a potential NULL pointer dereference in caller function like a calling chain : btree_split->bch_btree_node_alloc->__bch_btree_node_alloc. Fix it by initializing the return value in __bch_btree_node_alloc.

usb: ucsi: Fix NULL pointer deref in ucsi_connector_change()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: usb: ucsi: Fix NULL pointer deref in ucsi_connector_change() When ucsi_init() fails, ucsi->connector is NULL, yet in case of ucsi_acpi we may still get events which cause the ucs_acpi code to call ucsi_connector_change(), which then derefs the NULL ucsi->connector pointer. Fix this by not setting ucsi->ntfy inside ucsi_init() until ucsi_init() has succeeded, so that ucsi_connector_change() ignores the events because UCSI_ENABLE_NTFY_CONNECTOR_CHANGE is not set in the ntfy mask.

md/raid10: fix null-ptr-deref of mreplace in raid10_sync_request

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: md/raid10: fix null-ptr-deref of mreplace in raid10_sync_request There are two check of 'mreplace' in raid10_sync_request(). In the first check, 'need_replace' will be set and 'mreplace' will be used later if no-Faulty 'mreplace' exists, In the second check, 'mreplace' will be set to NULL if it is Faulty, but 'need_replace' will not be changed accordingly. null-ptr-deref occurs if Faulty is set between two check. Fix it by merging two checks into one. And replace 'need_replace' with 'mreplace' because their values are always the same.

ext4: update s_journal_inum if it changes after journal replay

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: update s_journal_inum if it changes after journal replay When mounting a crafted ext4 image, s_journal_inum may change after journal replay, which is obviously unreasonable because we have successfully loaded and replayed the journal through the old s_journal_inum. And the new s_journal_inum bypasses some of the checks in ext4_get_journal(), which may trigger a null pointer dereference problem. So if s_journal_inum changes after the journal replay, we ignore the change, and rewrite the current journal_inum to the superblock.

media: cx23885: Fix a null-ptr-deref bug in buffer_prepare() and buffer_finish()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: cx23885: Fix a null-ptr-deref bug in buffer_prepare() and buffer_finish() When the driver calls cx23885_risc_buffer() to prepare the buffer, the function call dma_alloc_coherent may fail, resulting in a empty buffer risc->cpu. Later when we free the buffer or access the buffer, null ptr deref is triggered. This bug is similar to the following one: https://git.linuxtv.org/media_stage.git/commit/?id=2b064d91440b33fba5b452f2d1b31f13ae911d71. We believe the bug can be also dynamically triggered from user side. Similarly, we fix this by checking the return value of cx23885_risc_buffer() and the value of risc->cpu before buffer free.

media: vsp1: Replace vb2_is_streaming() with vb2_start_streaming_called()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: vsp1: Replace vb2_is_streaming() with vb2_start_streaming_called() The vsp1 driver uses the vb2_is_streaming() function in its .buf_queue() handler to check if the .start_streaming() operation has been called, and decide whether to just add the buffer to an internal queue, or also trigger a hardware run. vb2_is_streaming() relies on the vb2_queue structure's streaming field, which used to be set only after calling the .start_streaming() operation. Commit a10b21532574 ("media: vb2: add (un)prepare_streaming queue ops") changed this, setting the .streaming field in vb2_core_streamon() before enqueuing buffers to the driver and calling .start_streaming(). This broke the vsp1 driver which now believes that .start_streaming() has been called when it hasn't, leading to a crash: [ 881.058705] Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0000000000000020 [ 881.067495] Mem abort info: [ 881.070290] ESR = 0x0000000096000006 [ 881.074042] EC = 0x25: DABT (current EL), IL = 32 bits [ 881.079358] SET = 0, FnV = 0 [ 881.082414] EA = 0, S1PTW = 0 [ 881.085558] FSC = 0x06: level 2 translation fault [ 881.090439] Data abort info: [ 881.093320] ISV = 0, ISS = 0x00000006 [ 881.097157] CM = 0, WnR = 0 [ 881.100126] user pgtable: 4k pages, 48-bit VAs, pgdp=000000004fa51000 [ 881.106573] [0000000000000020] pgd=080000004f36e003, p4d=080000004f36e003, pud=080000004f7ec003, pmd=0000000000000000 [ 881.117217] Internal error: Oops: 0000000096000006 [#1] PREEMPT SMP [ 881.123494] Modules linked in: rcar_fdp1 v4l2_mem2mem [ 881.128572] CPU: 0 PID: 1271 Comm: yavta Tainted: G B 6.2.0-rc1-00023-g6c94e2e99343 #556 [ 881.138061] Hardware name: Renesas Salvator-X 2nd version board based on r8a77965 (DT) [ 881.145981] pstate: 400000c5 (nZcv daIF -PAN -UAO -TCO -DIT -SSBS BTYPE=--) [ 881.152951] pc : vsp1_dl_list_add_body+0xa8/0xe0 [ 881.157580] lr : vsp1_dl_list_add_body+0x34/0xe0 [ 881.162206] sp : ffff80000c267710 [ 881.165522] x29: ffff80000c267710 x28: ffff000010938ae8 x27: ffff000013a8dd98 [ 881.172683] x26: ffff000010938098 x25: ffff000013a8dc00 x24: ffff000010ed6ba8 [ 881.179841] x23: ffff00000faa4000 x22: 0000000000000000 x21: 0000000000000020 [ 881.186998] x20: ffff00000faa4000 x19: 0000000000000000 x18: 0000000000000000 [ 881.194154] x17: 0000000000000000 x16: 0000000000000000 x15: 0000000000000000 [ 881.201309] x14: 0000000000000000 x13: 746e696174206c65 x12: ffff70000157043d [ 881.208465] x11: 1ffff0000157043c x10: ffff70000157043c x9 : dfff800000000000 [ 881.215622] x8 : ffff80000ab821e7 x7 : 00008ffffea8fbc4 x6 : 0000000000000001 [ 881.222779] x5 : ffff80000ab821e0 x4 : ffff70000157043d x3 : 0000000000000020 [ 881.229936] x2 : 0000000000000020 x1 : ffff00000e4f6400 x0 : 0000000000000000 [ 881.237092] Call trace: [ 881.239542] vsp1_dl_list_add_body+0xa8/0xe0 [ 881.243822] vsp1_video_pipeline_run+0x270/0x2a0 [ 881.248449] vsp1_video_buffer_queue+0x1c0/0x1d0 [ 881.253076] __enqueue_in_driver+0xbc/0x260 [ 881.257269] vb2_start_streaming+0x48/0x200 [ 881.261461] vb2_core_streamon+0x13c/0x280 [ 881.265565] vb2_streamon+0x3c/0x90 [ 881.269064] vsp1_video_streamon+0x2fc/0x3e0 [ 881.273344] v4l_streamon+0x50/0x70 [ 881.276844] __video_do_ioctl+0x2bc/0x5d0 [ 881.280861] video_usercopy+0x2a8/0xc80 [ 881.284704] video_ioctl2+0x20/0x40 [ 881.288201] v4l2_ioctl+0xa4/0xc0 [ 881.291525] __arm64_sys_ioctl+0xe8/0x110 [ 881.295543] invoke_syscall+0x68/0x190 [ 881.299303] el0_svc_common.constprop.0+0x88/0x170 [ 881.304105] do_el0_svc+0x4c/0xf0 [ 881.307430] el0_svc+0x4c/0xa0 [ 881.310494] el0t_64_sync_handler+0xbc/0x140 [ 881.314773] el0t_64_sync+0x190/0x194 [ 881.318450] Code: d50323bf d65f03c0 91008263 f9800071 (885f7c60) [ 881.324551] ---[ end trace 0000000000000000 ]--- [ 881.329173] note: yavta[1271] exited with preempt_count 1 A different r ---truncated---

FS: JFS: Fix null-ptr-deref Read in txBegin

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: FS: JFS: Fix null-ptr-deref Read in txBegin Syzkaller reported an issue where txBegin may be called on a superblock in a read-only mounted filesystem which leads to NULL pointer deref. This could be solved by checking if the filesystem is read-only before calling txBegin, and returning with appropiate error code.

kobject: Add sanity check for kset->kobj.ktype in kset_register()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: kobject: Add sanity check for kset->kobj.ktype in kset_register() When I register a kset in the following way: static struct kset my_kset; kobject_set_name(&my_kset.kobj, "my_kset"); ret = kset_register(&my_kset); A null pointer dereference exception is occurred: [ 4453.568337] Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at \ virtual address 0000000000000028 ... ... Drivers: vmbus: Check for channel allocation before looking up relids

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Drivers: vmbus: Check for channel allocation before looking up relids relid2channel() assumes vmbus channel array to be allocated when called. However, in cases such as kdump/kexec, not all relids will be reset by the host. When the second kernel boots and if the guest receives a vmbus interrupt during vmbus driver initialization before vmbus_connect() is called, before it finishes, or if it fails, the vmbus interrupt service routine is called which in turn calls relid2channel() and can cause a null pointer dereference. Print a warning and error out in relid2channel() for a channel id that's invalid in the second kernel.

drm/mediatek: dp: Only trigger DRM HPD events if bridge is attached

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/mediatek: dp: Only trigger DRM HPD events if bridge is attached The MediaTek DisplayPort interface bridge driver starts its interrupts as soon as its probed. However when the interrupts trigger the bridge might not have been attached to a DRM device. As drm_helper_hpd_irq_event() does not check whether the passed in drm_device is valid or not, a NULL pointer passed in results in a kernel NULL pointer dereference in it. Check whether the bridge is attached and only trigger an HPD event if it is.

regulator: da9063: better fix null deref with partial DT

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: regulator: da9063: better fix null deref with partial DT Two versions of the original patch were sent but V1 was merged instead of V2 due to a mistake. So update to V2. The advantage of V2 is that it completely avoids dereferencing the pointer, even just to take the address, which may fix problems with some compilers. Both versions work on my gcc 9.4 but use the safer one.

drm/amdgpu: drop redundant sched job cleanup when cs is aborted

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amdgpu: drop redundant sched job cleanup when cs is aborted Once command submission failed due to userptr invalidation in amdgpu_cs_submit, legacy code will perform cleanup of scheduler job. However, it's not needed at all, as former commit has integrated job cleanup stuff into amdgpu_job_free. Otherwise, because of double free, a NULL pointer dereference will occur in such scenario. Bug: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/2457
