Coder's unbounded memory allocation in provisioner file upload allows authenticated denial of service

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Starting in version 2.24.0 and prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, `NewDataBuilder` in `provisionersdk/proto/dataupload.go` allocated a byte slice using the client-supplied `FileSize` from a `DataUpload` message without an upper-bound check. Although the DRPC wire limit is 4 MiB, the `FileSize` value itself was unconstrained. The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 validates `FileSize` against an upper bound (`MaxFileSize = 100 MiB`) before allocation. As a workaround, restrict access to the provisioner daemon serve endpoint to trusted provisioner daemon service accounts.

Coder: Zip upload decompression lacks aggregate size limit, enabling denial of service

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Starting in version 2.17.0 and prior to versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2, `POST /api/v2/files` converts zip uploads to tar in memory via `CreateTarFromZip`, which enforced a per-entry size limit but no aggregate limit on total decompressed output, writing to an unbounded in-memory buffer. Exploitation requires authenticated file-upload access and the impact is limited to availability (denial of service). The fix in versions 2.29.7, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, and 2.34.2 adds a metadata preflight check that sums projected entry sizes and a streaming writer that enforces the aggregate limit during decompression. As a workaround, restrict file-upload permissions to trusted users or place a reverse proxy with request-body size limits in front of `coderd`.

Coder vulnerable to denial of service via unbounded request body in AI Bridge provider endpoints

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Starting in version 2.33.0 and prior to versions 2.33.8 and 2.34.2, AI Bridge provider handlers read request bodies with `io.ReadAll` without a maximum size so an authenticated user with AI Bridge access could send an arbitrarily large body and exhaust memory. Exploitation requires authenticated access to the AI Bridge endpoints and the impact is limited to availability (denial of service). Versions 2.33.8 and 2.34.2 patch the issue. No known workarounds are available.

In version from 3.0.0 to 3.5.3 of Eclipse Vert.x, the WebSocket HTTP upgrade implementation buffers the full http request before doing the handshake, holding the entire request body in memory. There should be a reasonnable limit (8192 bytes) above which the WebSocket gets an HTTP response with the 413 status code and the connection gets closed.

An issue was discovered in MariaDB Server before 11.4.10, 11.5.x through 11.8.x before 11.8.6, and 12.x before 12.2.2. If the caching_sha2_password authentication plugin is installed, and some user accounts are configured to use it, a large packet can crash the server because sha256_crypt_r uses alloca.

File Browser Vulnerable to Uncontrolled Memory Consumption Due to Oversized File Processing

File Browser provides a file managing interface within a specified directory and it can be used to upload, delete, preview, rename, and edit files. In version 2.38.0, a Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability exists in the file processing logic when reading a file on endpoint `Filebrowser-Server-IP:PORT/files/{file-name}` . While the server correctly handles and stores uploaded files, it attempts to load the entire content into memory during read operations without size checks or resource limits. This allows an authenticated user to upload a large file and trigger uncontrolled memory consumption on read, potentially crashing the server and making it unresponsive. As of time of publication, no known patches are available.

Sliver Vulnerable to Authenticated OOM via Memory Exhaustion in mTLS/WireGuard Transports

Sliver is a command and control framework that uses a custom Wireguard netstack. Versions 1.7.3 and below contain a Remote OOM (Out-of-Memory) vulnerability in the Sliver C2 server's mTLS and WireGuard C2 transport layer. The socketReadEnvelope and socketWGReadEnvelope functions trust an attacker-controlled 4-byte length prefix to allocate memory, with ServerMaxMessageSize allowing single allocations of up to ~2 GiB. A compromised implant or an attacker with valid credentials can exploit this by sending fabricated length prefixes over concurrent yamux streams (up to 128 per connection), forcing the server to attempt allocating ~256 GiB of memory and triggering an OS OOM kill. This crashes the Sliver server, disrupts all active implant sessions, and may degrade or kill other processes sharing the same host. The same pattern also affects all implant-side readers, which have no upper-bound check at all. The issue was not fixed at the the time of publication.

Navidrome affected by Denial of Service and disk exhaustion via oversized `size` parameter in `/rest/getCoverArt` and `/share/img/<token>` endpoints

Navidrome is an open source web-based music collection server and streamer. Prior to version 0.60.0, authenticated users can crash the Navidrome server by supplying an excessively large size parameter to /rest/getCoverArt or to a shared-image URL (/share/img/<token>). When processing such requests, the server attempts to create an extremely large resized image, causing uncontrolled memory growth. This triggers the Linux OOM killer, terminates the Navidrome process, and results in a full service outage. If the system has sufficient memory and survives the allocation, Navidrome then writes these extremely large resized images into its cache directory, allowing an attacker to rapidly exhaust server disk space as well. This issue has been patched in version 0.60.0.
