SiYuan before v3.7.2 contains a path traversal vulnerability in the /export/temp/ short-circuit branch of the serveExport handler (kernel/server/serve.go). Unlike the main export branch, this branch joins the raw, percent-decoded request path with util.TempDir and serves the file without the IsSubPath or IsSensitivePath checks added in the earlier export-disclosure hardening (GHSA-6865-qjcf-286f). An authenticated attacker can send percent-encoded traversal sequences (e.g. /export/temp/%2e%2e/.../etc/passwd, where %2e%2e is decoded to '..') to read arbitrary files outside TempDir, including /etc/passwd, SSH keys (~/.ssh/*), and SiYuan workspace *.db and *.log files, bypassing the sensitive-file protection.
SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.7.0, the patch for CVE-2026-41894 ("Path Traversal via Double URL Encoding") sanitized the /export/ route but the identical root cause remains in the /assets/*path route. In publish mode (anonymous read-only HTTP endpoint, default port 6808), an unauthenticated remote attacker can read arbitrary files inside WorkspaceDir — including conf/conf.json (which contains the AccessAuthCode SHA256 hash, API token, and sync keys), temp/siyuan.db, temp/blocktree.db, and siyuan.log — by double-URL-encoding .. segments. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.7.0.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to version 3.1.16, an arbitrary file read vulnerability exists in Siyuan's `/api/template/render` endpoint. The absence of proper validation on the path parameter allows attackers to access sensitive files on the host system. Version 3.1.16 contains a patch for the issue.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to version 3.1.16, SiYuan's /api/export/exportResources endpoint is vulnerable to arbitary file read via path traversal. It is possible to manipulate the paths parameter to access and download arbitrary files from the host system by traversing the workspace directory structure. Version 3.1.16 contains a patch for the issue.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to version 3.1.16, the `/api/asset/upload` endpoint in Siyuan is vulnerable to both arbitrary file write to the host and stored cross-site scripting (via the file write). Version 3.1.16 contains a patch for the issue.
SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.6.5, the fix for CVE-2026-30869 only added a denylist check (IsSensitivePath) but did not address the root cause — a redundant url.PathUnescape() call in serveExport(). An authenticated attacker can use double URL encoding (%252e%252e) to traverse directories and read arbitrary workspace files including the full SQLite database (siyuan.db), kernel log, and all user documents. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.6.5.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to version 3.6.2, the /api/file/readDir interface was used to traverse and retrieve the file names of all documents under a notebook. Version 3.6.2 patches the issue.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to version 3.6.2, the Siyuan kernel exposes an unauthenticated file-serving endpoint under `/appearance/*filepath.` Due to improper path sanitization, attackers can perform directory traversal and read arbitrary files accessible to the server process. Authentication checks explicitly exclude this endpoint, allowing exploitation without valid credentials. Version 3.6.2 fixes this issue.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to version 3.6.2, the `IsSensitivePath()` function in `kernel/util/path.go` uses a denylist approach that was recently expanded (GHSA-h5vh-m7fg-w5h6, commit 9914fd1) but remains incomplete. Multiple security-relevant Linux directories are not blocked, including `/opt` (application data), `/usr` (local configs/binaries), `/home` (other users), `/mnt` and `/media` (mounted volumes). The `globalCopyFiles` and `importStdMd` endpoints rely on `IsSensitivePath` as their primary defense against reading files outside the workspace. Version 3.6.2 contains an updated fix.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. In versions 3.6.0 and below, the globalCopyFiles API eads source files using filepath.Abs() with no workspace boundary check, relying solely on util.IsSensitivePath() whose blocklist omits /proc/, /run/secrets/, and home directory dotfiles. An admin can copy /proc/1/environ or Docker secrets into the workspace and read them via the standard file API. An admin can exfiltrate any file readable by the SiYuan process that falls outside the incomplete blocklist. In containerized deployments this includes all injected secrets and environment variables - a common pattern for passing credentials to containers. The exfiltrated files are then accessible via the standard workspace file API and persist until manually deleted. This issue has been fixed in version 3.6.1.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. In versions 3.6.0 and below, POST /api/import/importStdMd passes the localPath parameter directly to model.ImportFromLocalPath with zero path validation. The function recursively reads every file under the given path and permanently stores their content as SiYuan note documents in the workspace database, making them searchable and accessible to all workspace users. Data persists in the workspace database across restarts and is accessible to Publish Service Reader accounts. Combined with the renderSprig SQL injection ( separate advisory ), a non-admin user can then read all imported secrets without any additional privileges. This issue has been fixed in version 3.6.1.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. In versions 3.6.0 and below, POST /api/import/importSY and POST /api/import/importZipMd write uploaded archives to a path derived from the multipart filename field without sanitization, allowing an admin to write files to arbitrary locations outside the temp directory - including system paths that enable RCE. This can lead to aata destruction by overwriting workspace or application files, and for Docker containers running as root (common default), this grants full container compromise. This issue has been fixed in version 3.6.1.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. In versions 3.6.0 and below, the /api/lute/html2BlockDOM on the desktop copies local files pointed to by file:// links in pasted HTML into the workspace assets directory without validating paths against a sensitive-path list. Together with GET /assets/*path, which only requires authentication, a publish-service visitor can cause the desktop kernel to copy any readable sensitive file and then read it via GET, leading to exfiltration of sensitive files. This issue has been fixed in version 3.6.1.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.5.10, a path traversal vulnerability in the /export endpoint allows an attacker to read arbitrary files from the server filesystem. By exploiting double‑encoded traversal sequences, an attacker can access sensitive files such as conf/conf.json, which contains secrets including the API token, cookie signing key, and workspace access authentication code. Leaking these secrets may enable administrative access to the SiYuan kernel API, and in certain deployment scenarios could potentially be chained into remote code execution (RCE). This vulnerability is fixed in 3.5.10.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.5.5, the /api/file/getFile endpoint uses case-sensitive string equality checks to block access to sensitive files. On case-insensitive file systems such as Windows, attackers can bypass restrictions using mixed-case paths and read protected configuration files. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.5.5.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to version 3.5.5, the /api/file/copyFile endpoint does not validate the dest parameter, allowing authenticated users to write files to arbitrary locations on the filesystem. This can lead to Remote Code Execution (RCE) by writing to sensitive locations such as cron jobs, SSH authorized_keys, or shell configuration files. This issue has been patched in version 3.5.5.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. In versions prior to 3.5.4, the markdown feature allows unrestricted server side html-rendering which allows arbitrary file read (LFD). Version 3.5.4 fixes the issue.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Versions prior to 3.5.4 contain a logic vulnerability in the /api/file/globalCopyFiles endpoint. The function allows authenticated users to copy files from any location on the server's filesystem into the application's workspace without proper path validation. The vulnerability exists in the api/file.go source code. The function globalCopyFiles accepts a list of source paths (srcs) from the JSON request body. While the code checks if the source file exists using filelock.IsExist(src), it fails to validate whether the source path resides within the authorized workspace directory. Version 3.5.4 patches the issue.
SiYuan is self-hosted, open source personal knowledge management software. Versions 0.0.0-20251202123337-6ef83b42c7ce and below contain function importZipMd which is vulnerable to ZipSlips, allowing an authenticated user to overwrite files on the system. An authenticated user with access to the import functionality in notes is able to overwrite any file on the system, and can escalate to full code execution under some circumstances. A fix is planned for version 3.5.0.
SurrealDB before 3.1.5 contains an arbitrary file read vulnerability in the DEFINE ANALYZER mapper filter that allows database users with EDITOR or OWNER roles to read files accessible to the SurrealDB process. Attackers can specify arbitrary file paths in the mapper filter and retrieve file contents through query error messages when the SURREAL_FILE_ALLOWLIST is empty or not configured.
Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. From 0.9.6 before 0.10.0, _sanitize_proxy_path in backend/open_webui/routers/terminals.py decoded proxy paths only eight times, allowing a nine-times percent-encoded ../ traversal value to pass normalization checks and be decoded by the upstream terminal server. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.
SeaweedFS is a distributed storage system. Prior to 4.34, the S3 API gateway does not reject dot-dot path segments in the X-Amz-Copy-Source header used by CopyObject and UploadPartCopy, allowing an authenticated identity scoped to one bucket to read objects from other buckets through server-side copy. This issue is fixed in version 4.34.
Open WebUI is a self-hosted artificial intelligence platform designed to operate entirely offline. Prior to 0.9.6, the terminal-server reverse proxy in `backend/open_webui/routers/terminals.py` does not fully confine the user-controlled `path` segment before forwarding it to an admin-configured terminal server. An authenticated user who has been granted access to a terminal server can craft `path` values containing encoded `../` traversal sequences that escape the intended path (or policy) scope on that server, reaching unintended endpoints and files on the terminal-server host. Where the terminal server fans requests out to internal services, this also gives SSRF-style reach into those services. This is a separate code path from the `/api/v1/retrieval/process/web` SSRF (GHSA-c6xv-rcvw-v685), with its own input. Two distinct vectors are consolidated here: first, raw path forwarding / single-encoded traversal (original report); and second, a bypass of the subsequently-added `_sanitize_proxy_path` mitigation using double-encoded dots (`%252e%252e`). The attacker-controlled input is the request `path`, supplied by the non-admin user, not anything an administrator configures, so this is not an admin-trust / Rule-9 situation. Version 0.9.6 fixes the issue.
A vulnerability in the APIs of HPE Aruba Networking Private 5G Core could potentially expose sensitive information to unauthorized users. A successful exploitation could allow an attacker to iteratively navigate through the filesystem and ultimately download protected system files containing sensitive information.
A path traversal vulnerability has been reported to affect Music Station. If exploited, the vulnerability could allow authenticated users to read the contents of unexpected files and expose sensitive data via a network. We have already fixed the vulnerability in the following version: Music Station 5.3.22 and later

FileBrowser Quantum is a free, self-hosted, web-based file manager. Prior to version 1.4.3-beta, the `subtitlesHandler` endpoint (`GET /api/media/subtitles`) accepts two user-controlled query parameters: `path` and `name`, both of which are used in filesystem operations without sanitization, creating two independent path traversal vectors. The primary vector is the `path` parameter: it is passed directly to `idx.GetRealPath()` without calling `SanitizeUserPath()`, allowing an attacker to escape the storage root and set `parentDir` to any directory on the host. No existing anchor file is required. The secondary vector is the `name` parameter: it is joined with `parentDir` via `filepath.Join(parentDir, name)` without stripping directory components, allowing traversal relative to any resolved `parentDir`. Any authenticated user (regardless of role or permissions) can exploit either vector to read any text file readable by the server process, including `/etc/passwd`, SSH keys, database credentials, and JWT signing keys. Version 1.4.3-beta patches the issue.
A specially crafted url can be created which leads to a directory traversal in the salt file server. A malicious user can read an arbitrary file from a Salt master’s filesystem.
A vulnerability has been identified in Control Center Server (CCS) (All versions < V1.5.0). The Control Center Server (CCS) contains a directory traversal vulnerability in its XML-based communication protocol as provided by default on ports 5444/tcp and 5440/tcp. An authenticated remote attacker with network access to the CCS server could exploit this vulnerability to list arbitrary directories or read files outside of the CCS application context.
The Best WordPress Gallery Plugin – FooGallery plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 2.4.26. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor level or higher to read the contents of arbitrary folders on the server, which can contain sensitive information such as folder structure.
Argo CD before 2.1.9 and 2.2.x before 2.2.4 allows directory traversal related to Helm charts because of an error in helmTemplate in repository.go. For example, an attacker may be able to discover credentials stored in a YAML file.
Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability in Lenderd 1003 Mortgage Application allows Relative Path Traversal. This issue affects 1003 Mortgage Application: from n/a through 1.75.
Tauri is a framework for building binaries for all major desktop platforms. The filesystem glob pattern wildcards `*`, `?`, and `[...]` match file path literals and leading dots by default, which unintentionally exposes sub folder content of allowed paths. Scopes without the wildcards are not affected. As `**` allows for sub directories the behavior there is also as expected. The issue has been patched in the latest release and was backported into the currently supported 1.x branches. There are no known workarounds at the time of publication.
Hermes WebUI before version 0.51.296 contains a workspace boundary bypass vulnerability that allows authenticated attackers to circumvent blocked-root path checks by exploiting an early return in the SSH/remote terminal profile workspace resolution logic within _remote_terminal_workspace_candidate(). Attackers can configure a remote terminal working directory to a system directory such as /etc, causing the workspace resolution path to accept it as a trusted local workspace root before the _is_blocked_workspace_path() guard executes, enabling read access to local system files through workspace file-read helpers.
Kestra is an open-source, event-driven orchestration platform. Prior to 1.0.45 and 1.3.23, the local internal-storage backend validates user-supplied paths for .. traversal before it converts Windows-style backslashes to forward slashes. An attacker can therefore smuggle a traversal sequence past the guard using backslashes (..\..\..\); the guard sees a harmless string, and the path is only rewritten to ../../../ after validation, immediately before the file is opened. Any authenticated user who can view an execution (the lowest-privilege role) can call GET /api/v1/{tenant}/executions/{executionId}/file?path=… and read any file on the server filesystem readable by the Kestra process, outside the storage sandbox and across every tenant and namespace. This includes the embedded H2 database (all flows, all users, all stored secrets), internal storage of every other tenant/namespace, mounted secret files, and the process environment (/proc/self/environ) which contains configured database and secret-backend credentials. It is a complete breach of Kestra's storage isolation and multi-tenancy boundary. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.0.45 and 1.3.23.
Vulnerability in Delinea Centrify PAS v. 21.3 and possibly others. The application is prone to the path traversal vulnerability allowing arbitrary files reading outside the web publish directory. Versions 23.1-HF7 and on have the patch.
n8n is an open source workflow automation platform. Prior to 1.123.48, 2.21.8, and 2.22.4, an authenticated user with permission to create or modify workflows could supply a local filesystem path as the source repository in the Git node's Clone operation, or as the target repository in the Push operation, bypassing the N8N_RESTRICT_FILE_ACCESS_TO file sandbox. This allowed the contents of any local git repository accessible to the n8n process to be cloned into an allowed path and read, circumventing the access restrictions that correctly blocked direct file reads to the same paths. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.123.48, 2.21.8, and 2.22.4.
Craft is a content management system (CMS). The dataUrl function can be exploited if an attacker has write permissions on system notification templates. This function accepts an absolute file path, reads the file's content, and converts it into a Base64-encoded string. By embedding this function within a system notification template, the attacker can exfiltrate the Base64-encoded file content through a triggered system email notification. Once the email is received, the Base64 payload can be decoded, allowing the attacker to read arbitrary files on the server. This is fixed in 5.4.9 and 4.12.8.
In BIG-IP Versions 16.1.x before 16.1.1 and 15.1.x before 15.1.4, when running in Appliance mode, an authenticated attacker may be able to bypass Appliance mode restrictions due to a directory traversal vulnerability in an undisclosed page within iApps. A successful exploit can allow the attacker to cross a security boundary. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated.
Directory Traversal in /SASStudio/sasexec/sessions/{sessionID}/workspace/{InternalPath} in SAS Studio 9.4 allows remote attacker to access internal files by manipulating default path during file download. NOTE: this is disputed by the vendor because these filesystem paths are allowed for authorized users.
Camaleon CMS is a dynamic and advanced content management system based on Ruby on Rails. A path traversal vulnerability accessible via MediaController's download_private_file method allows authenticated users to download any file on the web server Camaleon CMS is running on (depending on the file permissions). This issue may lead to Information Disclosure. This issue has been addressed in release version 2.8.2. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
Arcane is an interface for managing Docker containers, images, networks, and volumes. Prior to 1.19.4, ProjectService.GetProjectFileContent returns the contents of any Docker Compose include directive declared in a project's compose file before any path-traversal validation runs. Because ProjectService.CreateProject writes attacker-supplied compose content to disk without validating include paths, an authenticated user can create a project whose compose file declares include: ['../../../../etc/passwd'], then read the include via the project file API. The result is arbitrary read of any file readable by the Arcane backend process, including /app/data/arcane.db (the SQLite database containing every user's password hash and API key), enabling escalation to admin and, via Arcane's Docker control plane, RCE on the host. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.19.4.
Adobe Commerce versions 2.4.7-p1, 2.4.6-p6, 2.4.5-p8, 2.4.4-p9 and earlier are affected by an Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability that could lead to arbitrary file system read. A low-privileged attacker could exploit this vulnerability to gain access to files and directories that are outside the restricted directory. Exploitation of this issue does not require user interaction and scope is changed.
A Directory Traversal vulnerability in KasmVNC 1.3.1.230e50f7b89663316c70de7b0e3db6f6b9340489 and possibly earlier versions allows remote authenticated attackers to browse parent directories and read the content of files outside the scope of the application.
The Backup Agents section in WBSAirback 21.02.04 is affected by a Path Traversal vulnerability, allowing a user with low privileges to download files from the system.
Kestra is an open-source, event-driven orchestration platform. Prior to 1.0.43 and 1.3.19, several Kestra API endpoints accept a kestra:// URI from the client and pass it through StorageInterface.parentTraversalGuard before reading the underlying file from the local storage backend. The guard only inspects the literal URI.toString(), so a URL-encoded .. written as %2E%2E slips through. The downstream code then calls URI.getPath(), which decodes %2E%2E back to .., and the resulting path is handed to Paths.get(...) without normalization. The OS resolves the .. segments at open(2) time, so an authenticated user with a single execution can read any file the Kestra process has access to on the host filesystem (/etc/passwd, mounted secrets, other tenants' execution outputs, etc.). This vulnerability is fixed in 1.0.43 and 1.3.19.
A user with Viewer permissions can use a path traversal in the Loki data source plugin to reach administrative Loki endpoints and read sensitive backend configuration and internal service information.
Argo CD is a declarative, GitOps continuous delivery tool for Kubernetes. Argo CD starting with version 1.3.0 but before versions 2.1.11, 2.2.6, and 2.3.0 is vulnerable to a path traversal bug, compounded by an improper access control bug, allowing a malicious user with read-only repository access to leak sensitive files from Argo CD's repo-server. A malicious Argo CD user who has been granted `get` access for a repository containing a Helm chart can craft an API request to the `/api/v1/repositories/{repo_url}/appdetails` endpoint to leak the contents of out-of-bounds files from the repo-server. The malicious payload would reference an out-of-bounds file, and the contents of that file would be returned as part of the response. Contents from a non-YAML file may be returned as part of an error message. The attacker would have to know or guess the location of the target file. Sensitive files which could be leaked include files from other Applications' source repositories or any secrets which have been mounted as files on the repo-server. This vulnerability is patched in Argo CD versions 2.1.11, 2.2.6, and 2.3.0. The patches prevent path traversal and limit access to users who either A) have been granted Application `create` privileges or B) have been granted Application `get` privileges and are requesting details for a `repo_url` that has already been used for the given Application. There are currently no known workarounds.
Nimforum is a lightweight alternative to Discourse written in Nim. In versions prior to 2.2.0 any forum user can create a new thread/post with an include referencing a file local to the host operating system. Nimforum will render the file if able. This can also be done silently by using NimForum's post "preview" endpoint. Even if NimForum is running as a non-critical user, the forum.json secrets can be stolen. Version 2.2.0 of NimForum includes patches for this vulnerability. Users are advised to upgrade as soon as is possible. There are no known workarounds for this issue.
OpenClaw before 2026.3.24 contains a path traversal vulnerability in sandbox enforcement allowing sandboxed agents to read arbitrary files from other agents' workspaces via unnormalized mediaUrl or fileUrl parameter keys. Attackers can exploit incomplete parameter validation in normalizeSandboxMediaParams and missing mediaLocalRoots context to access sensitive files including API keys and configuration data outside designated sandbox roots.
