The pcre_compile2 function in PCRE before 8.37 allows context-dependent attackers to compile incorrect code and cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read) via regular expression with a group containing both a forward referencing subroutine call and a recursive back reference, as demonstrated by "((?+1)(\1))/".

lib/logmatcher.c in Balabit syslog-ng before 3.2.4, when the global flag is set and when using PCRE 8.12 and possibly other versions, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via a message that does not match a regular expression.
Perl-Compatible Regular Expression (PCRE) library before 7.0 does not properly calculate the amount of memory needed for a compiled regular expression pattern when the (1) -x or (2) -i UTF-8 options change within the pattern, which allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (PCRE or glibc crash) via crafted regular expressions.
Perl-Compatible Regular Expression (PCRE) library before 6.2 does not properly count the number of named capturing subpatterns, which allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a regular expression with a large number of named subpatterns, which triggers a buffer overflow. NOTE: this issue was originally subsumed by CVE-2006-7224, but that CVE has been REJECTED and split.

The compile_branch function in PCRE before 8.37 allows context-dependent attackers to compile incorrect code, cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds heap read and crash), or possibly have other unspecified impact via a regular expression with a group containing a forward reference repeated a large number of times within a repeated outer group that has a zero minimum quantifier.
An out-of-bounds read vulnerability was discovered in the PCRE2 library in the compile_xclass_matchingpath() function of the pcre2_jit_compile.c file. This involves a unicode property matching issue in JIT-compiled regular expressions. The issue occurs because the character was not fully read in case-less matching within JIT.
An out-of-bounds read vulnerability was discovered in the PCRE2 library in the get_recurse_data_length() function of the pcre2_jit_compile.c file. This issue affects recursions in JIT-compiled regular expressions caused by duplicate data transfers.
An out-of-bounds read was discovered in PCRE before 10.34 when the pattern \X is JIT compiled and used to match specially crafted subjects in non-UTF mode. Applications that use PCRE to parse untrusted input may be vulnerable to this flaw, which would allow an attacker to crash the application. The flaw occurs in do_extuni_no_utf in pcre2_jit_compile.c.
The PCRE2 library is a set of C functions that implement regular expression pattern matching. In version 10.45, a heap-buffer-overflow read vulnerability exists in the PCRE2 regular expression matching engine, specifically within the handling of the (*scs:...) (Scan SubString) verb when combined with (*ACCEPT) in src/pcre2_match.c. This vulnerability may potentially lead to information disclosure if the out-of-bounds data read during the memcmp affects the final match result in a way observable by the attacker. This issue has been resolved in version 10.46.

A heap-based buffer over-read was triggered in the function dlt_en10mb_encode() of the file plugins/dlt_en10mb/en10mb.c, due to inappropriate values in the function memmove(). The length (pktlen + ctx -> l2len) can be larger than source value (packet + ctx->l2len) because the function fails to ensure the length of a packet is valid. This leads to Denial of Service.

Exiv2 is a command-line utility and C++ library for reading, writing, deleting, and modifying the metadata of image files. An out-of-bounds read was found in Exiv2 versions v0.27.4 and earlier. The out-of-bounds read is triggered when Exiv2 is used to print the metadata of a crafted image file. An attacker could potentially exploit the vulnerability to cause a denial of service, if they can trick the victim into running Exiv2 on a crafted image file. Note that this bug is only triggered when printing the image ICC profile, which is a less frequently used Exiv2 operation that requires an extra command line option (`-p C`). The bug is fixed in version v0.27.5.
