Prior to 7.0.8, a specially crafted TCP stream can lead to a very large buffer overflow while being zero-filled during initialization with memset due to an unsigned integer underflow. A vulnerability in bmcweb of OpenBMC Project allows user to cause denial of service. This vulnerability was identified during mitigation for CVE-2022-2809. When fuzzing the multipart_parser code using AFL++ with address sanitizer enabled to find smallest memory corruptions possible. It detected problem in how multipart_parser handles unclosed http headers. If long enough http header is passed in the multipart form without colon there is one byte overwrite on heap. It can be conducted multiple times in a loop to cause DoS.

Suricata is a network IDS, IPS and NSM engine developed by the OISF (Open Information Security Foundation) and the Suricata community. Prior to versions 7.0.13 and 8.0.2, a single byte read heap overflow when logging the verdict in eve.alert and eve.drop records can lead to crashes. This requires the per packet alert queue to be filled with alerts and then followed by a pass rule. This issue has been patched in versions 7.0.13 and 8.0.2. To reduce the likelihood of this issue occurring, the alert queue size a should be increased (packet-alert-max in suricata.yaml) if verdict is enabled.
