The main function in tools/hv/hv_kvp_daemon.c in hypervkvpd, as distributed in the Linux kernel before 3.4.5, does not validate the origin of Netlink messages, which allows local users to spoof Netlink communication via a crafted connector message.
On Linux running on PowerPC hardware (Power8 or later) a user process can craft a signal frame and then do a sigreturn so that the kernel will take an exception (interrupt), and use the r1 value *from the signal frame* as the kernel stack pointer. As part of the exception entry the content of the signal frame is written to the kernel stack, allowing an attacker to overwrite arbitrary locations with arbitrary values. The exception handling does produce an oops, and a panic if panic_on_oops=1, but only after kernel memory has been over written. This flaw was introduced in commit: "5d176f751ee3 (powerpc: tm: Enable transactional memory (TM) lazily for userspace)" which was merged upstream into v4.9-rc1. Please note that kernels built with CONFIG_PPC_TRANSACTIONAL_MEM=n are not vulnerable.
A local attacker can trick the Mozilla Maintenance Service into applying an unsigned update file by pointing the service at an update file on a malicious SMB server. The update file can be replaced after the signature check, before the use, because the write-lock requested by the service does not work on a SMB server. *Note: This attack requires local system access and only affects Windows. Other operating systems are not affected.* This vulnerability affects Firefox < 112, Firefox ESR < 102.10, and Thunderbird < 102.10.

NTFS file system in Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 SP2 allows local attackers to hide file usage activities via a hard link to the target file, which causes the link to be recorded in the audit trail instead of the target file.
The encrypted loop device in Linux kernel 2.4.10 and earlier does not authenticate the entity that is encrypting data, which allows local users to modify encrypted data without knowing the key.
It was discovered in the Linux kernel before 4.11-rc8 that root can gain direct access to an internal keyring, such as '.dns_resolver' in RHEL-7 or '.builtin_trusted_keys' upstream, by joining it as its session keyring. This allows root to bypass module signature verification by adding a new public key of its own devising to the keyring.
An interaction between Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA) with RSA SecurID allows local users to bypass the SecurID authentication for a previous user via several submissions of an OWA Authentication request with the proper OWA password for the previous user, which is eventually accepted by OWA.
Linux kernel 2.2.19 enables CAP_SYS_RESOURCE for setuid processes, which allows local users to exceed disk quota restrictions during execution of setuid programs.
The change password option in the Windows Security interface for Windows 2000 allows attackers to use the option to attempt to change passwords of other users on other systems or identify valid accounts by monitoring error messages, possibly due to a problem in the NetuserChangePassword function.

This can fix below calltrace: amdgpu 0000:00:08.0: GFX9+ requires FB check based on format modifier WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 1023 at drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdgpu/amdgpu_display.c:1150 amdgpu_display_framebuffer_init+0x8e7/0xb40 [amdgpu] v2: check adev->enable_virtual_display instead as vkms can be enabled in bare metal as well.

MySQL 4.0.23 and earlier, and 4.1.x up to 4.1.10, uses predictable file names when creating temporary tables, which allows local users with CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE privileges to overwrite arbitrary files via a symlink attack.
The Mozilla Updater can be made to choose an arbitrary target working directory for output files resulting from the update process. This vulnerability requires local system access. Note: this issue only affects Windows operating systems. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird < 45.5, Firefox ESR < 45.5, and Firefox < 50.

GoCD is a continuous delivery server. Windows installations via either the server or agent installers for GoCD prior to 22.2.0 do not adequately restrict permissions when installing outside of the default location. This could allow a malicious user with local access to the server GoCD Server or Agent are installed on to modify executables or components of the installation. This does not affect zip file-based installs, installations to other platforms, or installations inside `Program Files` or `Program Files (x86)`. This issue is fixed in GoCD 22.2.0 installers. As a workaround, if the server or agent is installed outside of `Program Files (x86)`, verify the the permission of the Server or Agent installation directory to ensure the `Everyone` user group does not have `Full Control`, `Modify` or `Write` permissions.
A vulnerability in the system scanning component of Cisco Immunet and Cisco Advanced Malware Protection (AMP) for Endpoints running on Microsoft Windows could allow a local attacker to disable the scanning functionality of the product. This could allow executable files to be launched on the system without being analyzed for threats. The vulnerability is due to improper process resource handling. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by gaining local access to a system running Microsoft Windows and protected by Cisco Immunet or Cisco AMP for Endpoints and executing a malicious file. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to prevent the scanning services from functioning properly and ultimately prevent the system from being protected from further intrusion.
