ipv6: fix memory leak in fib6_rule_suppress

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: fix memory leak in fib6_rule_suppress The kernel leaks memory when a `fib` rule is present in IPv6 nftables firewall rules and a suppress_prefix rule is present in the IPv6 routing rules (used by certain tools such as wg-quick). In such scenarios, every incoming packet will leak an allocation in `ip6_dst_cache` slab cache. After some hours of `bpftrace`-ing and source code reading, I tracked down the issue to ca7a03c41753 ("ipv6: do not free rt if FIB_LOOKUP_NOREF is set on suppress rule"). The problem with that change is that the generic `args->flags` always have `FIB_LOOKUP_NOREF` set[1][2] but the IPv6-specific flag `RT6_LOOKUP_F_DST_NOREF` might not be, leading to `fib6_rule_suppress` not decreasing the refcount when needed. How to reproduce: - Add the following nftables rule to a prerouting chain: meta nfproto ipv6 fib saddr . mark . iif oif missing drop This can be done with: sudo nft create table inet test sudo nft create chain inet test test_chain '{ type filter hook prerouting priority filter + 10; policy accept; }' sudo nft add rule inet test test_chain meta nfproto ipv6 fib saddr . mark . iif oif missing drop - Run: sudo ip -6 rule add table main suppress_prefixlength 0 - Watch `sudo slabtop -o | grep ip6_dst_cache` to see memory usage increase with every incoming ipv6 packet. This patch exposes the protocol-specific flags to the protocol specific `suppress` function, and check the protocol-specific `flags` argument for RT6_LOOKUP_F_DST_NOREF instead of the generic FIB_LOOKUP_NOREF when decreasing the refcount, like this. vsock/virtio: free queued packets when closing socket

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vsock/virtio: free queued packets when closing socket As reported by syzbot [1], there is a memory leak while closing the socket. We partially solved this issue with commit ac03046ece2b ("vsock/virtio: free packets during the socket release"), but we forgot to drain the RX queue when the socket is definitely closed by the scheduled work. To avoid future issues, let's use the new virtio_transport_remove_sock() to drain the RX queue before removing the socket from the af_vsock lists calling vsock_remove_sock(). scsi: core: Fix error handling of scsi_host_alloc()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: core: Fix error handling of scsi_host_alloc() After device is initialized via device_initialize(), or its name is set via dev_set_name(), the device has to be freed via put_device(). Otherwise device name will be leaked because it is allocated dynamically in dev_set_name(). Fix the leak by replacing kfree() with put_device(). Since scsi_host_dev_release() properly handles IDA and kthread removal, remove special-casing these from the error handling as well.

hugetlb, userfaultfd: fix reservation restore on userfaultfd error

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: hugetlb, userfaultfd: fix reservation restore on userfaultfd error Currently in the is_continue case in hugetlb_mcopy_atomic_pte(), if we bail out using "goto out_release_unlock;" in the cases where idx >= size, or !huge_pte_none(), the code will detect that new_pagecache_page == false, and so call restore_reserve_on_error(). In this case I see restore_reserve_on_error() delete the reservation, and the following call to remove_inode_hugepages() will increment h->resv_hugepages causing a 100% reproducible leak. We should treat the is_continue case similar to adding a page into the pagecache and set new_pagecache_page to true, to indicate that there is no reservation to restore on the error path, and we need not call restore_reserve_on_error(). Rename new_pagecache_page to page_in_pagecache to make that clear.

perf bpf: Avoid memory leak from perf_env__insert_btf()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf bpf: Avoid memory leak from perf_env__insert_btf() perf_env__insert_btf() doesn't insert if a duplicate BTF id is encountered and this causes a memory leak. Modify the function to return a success/error value and then free the memory if insertion didn't happen. v2. Adds a return -1 when the insertion error occurs in perf_env__fetch_btf. This doesn't affect anything as the result is never checked.

If it finds an nfs4_openowner that is not marked as NFS4_OO_CONFIRMED, this nfs4_openowner will released. Since two rpc_task can attempt to open the same file simultaneously from the client to server, and because two instances of nfsd can run concurrently, this situation can lead to lots of memory leak. Additionally, when we echo 0 to /proc/fs/nfsd/threads, warning will be triggered. NFS SERVER nfsd1 nfsd2 echo 0 > /proc/fs/nfsd/threads nfsd4_open nfsd4_process_open1 find_or_alloc_open_stateowner // alloc oo1, stateid1 nfsd4_open nfsd4_process_open1 find_or_alloc_open_stateowner // find oo1, without NFS4_OO_CONFIRMED release_openowner unhash_openowner_locked list_del_init(&oo->oo_perclient) // cannot find this oo // from client, LEAK!!! alloc_stateowner // alloc oo2 nfsd4_process_open2 init_open_stateid // associate oo1 // with stateid1, stateid1 LEAK!!! nfs4_get_vfs_file // alloc nfsd_file1 and nfsd_file_mark1 // all LEAK!!! nfsd4_process_open2 ... write_threads ... nfsd_destroy_serv nfsd_shutdown_net nfs4_state_shutdown_net nfs4_state_destroy_net destroy_client __destroy_client // won't find oo1!!! nfsd_shutdown_generic nfsd_file_cache_shutdown kmem_cache_destroy for nfsd_file_slab and nfsd_file_mark_slab // bark since nfsd_file1 // and nfsd_file_mark1 // still alive ======================================================================= BUG nfsd_file (Not tainted): Objects remaining in nfsd_file on __kmem_cache_shutdown() ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Slab 0xffd4000004438a80 objects=34 used=1 fp=0xff11000110e2ad28 flags=0x17ffffc0000240(workingset|head|node=0|zone=2|lastcpupid=0x1fffff) CPU: 4 UID: 0 PID: 757 Comm: sh Not tainted 6.12.0-rc6+ #19 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS 1.16.1-2.fc37 04/01/2014 Call Trace: <TASK> dum ---truncated---

drm/i915: Fix a memory leak with reused mmap_offset

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/i915: Fix a memory leak with reused mmap_offset drm_vma_node_allow() and drm_vma_node_revoke() should be called in balanced pairs. We call drm_vma_node_allow() once per-file everytime a user calls mmap_offset, but only call drm_vma_node_revoke once per-file on each mmap_offset. As the mmap_offset is reused by the client, the per-file vm_count may remain non-zero and the rbtree leaked. Call drm_vma_node_allow_once() instead to prevent that memory leak.

x86/MCE/AMD: Fix memory leak when threshold_create_bank() fails

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/MCE/AMD: Fix memory leak when threshold_create_bank() fails In mce_threshold_create_device(), if threshold_create_bank() fails, the previously allocated threshold banks array @bp will be leaked because the call to mce_threshold_remove_device() will not free it. This happens because mce_threshold_remove_device() fetches the pointer through the threshold_banks per-CPU variable but bp is written there only after the bank creation is successful, and not before, when threshold_create_bank() fails. Add a helper which unwinds all the bank creation work previously done and pass into it the previously allocated threshold banks array for freeing. [ bp: Massage. ]

can: can327: can327_feed_frame_to_netdev(): fix potential skb leak when netdev is down

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: can327: can327_feed_frame_to_netdev(): fix potential skb leak when netdev is down In can327_feed_frame_to_netdev(), it did not free the skb when netdev is down, and all callers of can327_feed_frame_to_netdev() did not free allocated skb too. That would trigger skb leak. Fix it by adding kfree_skb() in can327_feed_frame_to_netdev() when netdev is down. Not tested, just compiled.

amt: fix possible memory leak in amt_rcv()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: amt: fix possible memory leak in amt_rcv() If an amt receives packets and it finds socket. If it can't find a socket, it should free a received skb. But it doesn't. So, a memory leak would possibly occur.
