An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel through 5.11.3. A kernel pointer leak can be used to determine the address of the iscsi_transport structure. When an iSCSI transport is registered with the iSCSI subsystem, the transport's handle is available to unprivileged users via the sysfs file system, at /sys/class/iscsi_transport/$TRANSPORT_NAME/handle. When read, the show_transport_handle function (in drivers/scsi/scsi_transport_iscsi.c) is called, which leaks the handle. This handle is actually the pointer to an iscsi_transport struct in the kernel module's global variables.

WARNING: CPU: 2 PID: 0 at lib/refcount.c:31 refcount_warn_saturate+0xbf/0x1e0 and an endless loop of: ======================================================================= unregister_netdevice: waiting for dummy1 to become free. Usage count = -1073741824 That is because dev_put(real_dev) in vlan_dev_free() be called without dev_hold(real_dev) in register_vlan_dev(). It makes the refcnt of real_dev underflow. Move the dev_hold(real_dev) to vlan_dev_init() which is the call-back of ndo_init(). That makes dev_hold() and dev_put() for vlan's real_dev symmetrical.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Use VM_MAP instead of VM_ALLOC for ringbuf After commit 2fd3fb0be1d1 ("kasan, vmalloc: unpoison VM_ALLOC pages after mapping"), non-VM_ALLOC mappings will be marked as accessible in __get_vm_area_node() when KASAN is enabled. But now the flag for ringbuf area is VM_ALLOC, so KASAN will complain out-of-bound access after vmap() returns. Because the ringbuf area is created by mapping allocated pages, so use VM_MAP instead. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: sr: fix out-of-bounds read when setting HMAC data. The SRv6 layer allows defining HMAC data that can later be used to sign IPv6 Segment Routing Headers. This configuration is realised via netlink through four attributes: SEG6_ATTR_HMACKEYID, SEG6_ATTR_SECRET, SEG6_ATTR_SECRETLEN and SEG6_ATTR_ALGID. Because the SECRETLEN attribute is decoupled from the actual length of the SECRET attribute, it is possible to provide invalid combinations (e.g., secret = "", secretlen = 64). In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix OOB read in smb2_ioctl_query_info QUERY_INFO path smb2_ioctl_query_info() has two response-copy branches: PASSTHRU_FSCTL and the default QUERY_INFO path. The QUERY_INFO branch clamps qi.input_buffer_length to the server-reported OutputBufferLength and then copies qi.input_buffer_length bytes from qi_rsp->Buffer to userspace, but it never verifies that the flexible-array payload actually fits within rsp_iov[1].iov_len. A malicious server can return OutputBufferLength larger than the actual QUERY_INFO response, causing copy_to_user() to walk past the response buffer and expose adjacent kernel heap to userspace. Guard the QUERY_INFO copy with a bounds check on the actual Buffer payload. Use struct_size(qi_rsp, Buffer, qi.input_buffer_length) rather than an open-coded addition so the guard cannot overflow on 32-bit builds.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix unsound scalar forking in maybe_fork_scalars() for BPF_OR maybe_fork_scalars() is called for both BPF_AND and BPF_OR when the source operand is a constant. When dst has signed range [-1, 0], it forks the verifier state: the pushed path gets dst = 0, the current path gets dst = -1. For BPF_AND this is correct: 0 & K == 0. For BPF_OR this is wrong: 0 | K == K, not 0. The pushed path therefore tracks dst as 0 when the runtime value is K, producing an exploitable verifier/runtime divergence that allows out-of-bounds map access. Fix this by passing env->insn_idx (instead of env->insn_idx + 1) to push_stack(), so the pushed path re-executes the ALU instruction with dst = 0 and naturally computes the correct result for any opcode.

bpf: Fix crash due to out of bounds access into reg2btf_ids.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix crash due to out of bounds access into reg2btf_ids. When commit e6ac2450d6de ("bpf: Support bpf program calling kernel function") added kfunc support, it defined reg2btf_ids as a cheap way to translate the verifier reg type to the appropriate btf_vmlinux BTF ID, however commit c25b2ae13603 ("bpf: Replace PTR_TO_XXX_OR_NULL with PTR_TO_XXX | PTR_MAYBE_NULL") moved the __BPF_REG_TYPE_MAX from the last member of bpf_reg_type enum to after the base register types, and defined other variants using type flag composition. However, now, the direct usage of reg->type to index into reg2btf_ids may no longer fall into __BPF_REG_TYPE_MAX range, and hence lead to out of bounds access and kernel crash on dereference of bad pointer.

parport: Proper fix for array out-of-bounds access

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: parport: Proper fix for array out-of-bounds access The recent fix for array out-of-bounds accesses replaced sprintf() calls blindly with snprintf(). However, since snprintf() returns the would-be-printed size, not the actually output size, the length calculation can still go over the given limit. Use scnprintf() instead of snprintf(), which returns the actually output letters, for addressing the potential out-of-bounds access properly.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/x86: Fix potential bad container_of in intel_pmu_hw_config Auto counter reload may have a group of events with software events present within it. The software event PMU isn't the x86_hybrid_pmu and a container_of operation in intel_pmu_set_acr_caused_constr (via the hybrid helper) could cause out of bound memory reads. Avoid this by guarding the call to intel_pmu_set_acr_caused_constr with an is_x86_event check.
