An issue was discovered in the Cloud Controller API in Cloud Foundry Foundation CAPI-release versions prior to v1.35.0 and cf-release versions prior to v268. A filesystem traversal vulnerability exists in the Cloud Controller that allows a space developer to escalate privileges by pushing a specially crafted application that can write arbitrary files to the Cloud Controller VM.
A path traversal vulnerability exists in Esri ArcGIS Earth versions 1.11.0 and below which allows arbitrary file creation on an affected system through crafted input. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to gain arbitrary code execution under security context of the user running ArcGIS Earth by inducing the user to upload a crafted file to an affected system.
A CWE-22: Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal) vulnerability exists that could cause malicious script to be deployed in an unauthorized location and may result in code execution on the engineering workstation when a malicious project file is loaded in the engineering software. Affected Product: EcoStruxure Control Expert (V15.0 SP1 and prior, including former Unity Pro), EcoStruxure Process Expert (2020 and prior, including former HDCS), SCADAPack RemoteConnect for x70 (All versions)
FlightCrew v0.9.2 and older are vulnerable to a directory traversal, allowing attackers to write arbitrary files via a ../ (dot dot slash) in a ZIP archive entry that is mishandled during extraction.
A path traversal vulnerability was identified in ReFirm Labs binwalk from version 2.1.2b through 2.3.3 included. By crafting a malicious PFS filesystem file, an attacker can get binwalk's PFS extractor to extract files at arbitrary locations when binwalk is run in extraction mode (-e option). Remote code execution can be achieved by building a PFS filesystem that, upon extraction, would extract a malicious binwalk module into the folder .config/binwalk/plugins. This vulnerability is associated with program files src/binwalk/plugins/unpfs.py. This issue affects binwalk from 2.1.2b through 2.3.3 included.
A vulnerability was found in cbeust testng 7.5.0/7.6.0/7.6.1/7.7.0. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is the function testngXmlExistsInJar of the file testng-core/src/main/java/org/testng/JarFileUtils.java of the component XML File Parser. The manipulation leads to path traversal. The attack can be launched remotely. Upgrading to version 7.5.1 and 7.7.1 is able to address this issue. The patch is named 9150736cd2c123a6a3b60e6193630859f9f0422b. It is recommended to upgrade the affected component. The associated identifier of this vulnerability is VDB-214027.
CWE-22: Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability exists that could result in remote code execution when an authenticated user executes a saved project file that has been tampered by a malicious actor.
Acrobat Reader DC versions 2021.005.20054 (and earlier), 2020.004.30005 (and earlier) and 2017.011.30197 (and earlier) are affected by a Path traversal vulnerability. An unauthenticated attacker could leverage this vulnerability to achieve arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.
Microsoft Exchange Server Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
In Progress® Telerik® UI for WinForms, versions prior to 2025 Q1 (2025.1.211), using the improper limitation of a target path can lead to decompressing an archive's content into a restricted directory.
SMARTBEAR SoapUI unpackageAll Directory Traversal Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of SMARTBEAR SoapUI. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the unpackageAll function. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied path prior to using it in file operations. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current user. Was ZDI-CAN-19060.
In MindManager Windows versions prior to 24.1.150, attackers could potentially write to unexpected directories in victims' machines via directory traversal if victims opened file attachments located in malicious mmap files.
An issue was discovered in decode_utf8 in base/gp_utf8.c in Artifex Ghostscript before 10.04.0. Overlong UTF-8 encoding leads to possible ../ directory traversal.
A path handling issue was addressed with improved logic. This issue is fixed in visionOS 2.1, iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1, macOS Ventura 13.7.1, macOS Sonoma 14.7.1, watchOS 11.1, tvOS 18.1. A malicious app may be able to run arbitrary shortcuts without user consent.
webcrack is a tool for reverse engineering javascript. An arbitrary file write vulnerability exists in the webcrack module when processing specifically crafted malicious code on Windows systems. This vulnerability is triggered when using the unpack bundles feature in conjunction with the saving feature. If a module name includes a path traversal sequence with Windows path separators, an attacker can exploit this to overwrite files on the host system. This vulnerability allows an attacker to write arbitrary `.js` files to the host system, which can be leveraged to hijack legitimate Node.js modules to gain arbitrary code execution. This vulnerability has been patched in version 2.14.1.
Directory traversal vulnerability in the TS WebProxy (aka TSWbPrxy) component in Microsoft Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 Gold and R2, and Windows RT Gold and 8.1 allows remote attackers to gain privileges via a crafted pathname in an executable file, as demonstrated by a transition from Low Integrity to Medium Integrity, aka "Directory Traversal Elevation of Privilege Vulnerability."
Gitlab Community and Enterprise Editions version 10.3.3 is vulnerable to an Insecure Temporary File in the project import component resulting remote code execution.
Apktool is a tool for reverse engineering Android APK files. In versions 2.9.1 and prior, Apktool infers resource files' output path according to their resource names which can be manipulated by attacker to place files at desired location on the system Apktool runs on. Affected environments are those in which an attacker may write/overwrite any file that user has write access, and either user name is known or cwd is under user folder. Commit d348c43b24a9de350ff6e5bd610545a10c1fc712 contains a patch for this issue.
A directory path traversal vulnerability exists when loading a vsmodel file in NI VeriStand that may result in remote code execution. Successful exploitation requires an attacker to get a user to open a specially crafted .vsmodel file. This vulnerability affects VeriStand 2024 Q2 and prior versions.
Path traversal in Ivanti Endpoint Manager before 2024 November Security Update or 2022 SU6 November Security Update allows a local unauthenticated attacker to achieve code execution. User interaction is required.
Path traversal in Ivanti Endpoint Manager before 2024 November Security Update or 2022 SU6 November Security Update allows a local unauthenticated attacker to achieve code execution. User interaction is required.
There are multiple ways in LCDS LAquis SCADA for an attacker to access locations outside of their own directory.
Deutsche Post Mailoptimizer 4.3 before 2020-11-09 allows Directory Traversal via a crafted ZIP archive to the Upload feature or the MO Connect component. This can lead to remote code execution.
