The Ultimate Member plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Account Takeover via Password Reset Link Disclosure in all versions up to and including 2.11.4. This is due to a chain of three logic bugs: (1) an MD5 hash fallback in get_directory_by_hash() that allows any post to be used as a member directory by computing SUBSTRING(MD5(post_id), 11, 5), (2) a strstr() parsing logic flaw in post_data() that allows bypassing WordPress's protected meta key restrictions by placing '_um_' anywhere in the meta key name rather than at the start, and (3) missing field name validation in build_user_card_data() that allows arbitrary field names including 'password_reset_link' to be passed to um_filtered_value(). This makes it possible for authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access and above to create a malicious post via XMLRPC with crafted meta fields, use the MD5 fallback to point the member directory AJAX handler to their post, inject 'password_reset_link' into the tagline_fields configuration, and leak live password reset URLs for all users in the member directory response, including administrators.

Zulip is an open-source team collaboration tool. A vulnerability in version 8.0 is similar to CVE-2023-32677, but applies to multi-use invitations, not single-use invitation links as in the prior CVE. Specifically, it applies when the installation has configured non-admins to be able to invite users and create multi-use invitations, and has also configured only admins to be able to invite users to streams. As in CVE-2023-32677, this does not let users invite new users to arbitrary streams, only to streams that the inviter can already see. Version 8.1 fixes this issue. As a workaround, administrators can limit sending of invitations down to users who also have the permission to add users to streams.

The Hydra Booking plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation due to a missing capability check on the tfhb_reset_password_callback() function in versions 1.1.0 to 1.1.18. The Dataverse Integration plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation due to missing authorization checks within its reset_password_link REST endpoint in versions 2.77 through 2.81. The endpoint’s handler accepts a client-supplied id, email, or login, looks up that user, and calls get_password_reset_key() unconditionally. Because it only checks that the caller is authenticated, and not that they own or may edit the target account, any authenticated attacker, with Subscriber-level access and above, can obtain a password reset link for an administrator and hijack that account.
