astro allows bypass of image proxy domain validation leading to SSRF and potential XSS

Astro is a web framework that includes an image proxy. In versions 5.13.4 and later before 5.13.10, the image proxy domain validation can be bypassed by using backslashes in the href parameter, allowing server-side requests to arbitrary URLs. This can lead to server-side request forgery (SSRF) and potentially cross-site scripting (XSS). This vulnerability exists due to an incomplete fix for CVE-2025-58179. Fixed in 5.13.10.

Astro: Unauthenticated Path Override via `x-astro-path` / `x_astro_path`

Astro is a web framework. Prior to version 10.0.2, the @astrojs/vercel serverless entrypoint reads the x-astro-path header and x_astro_path query parameter to rewrite the internal request path, with no authentication whatsoever. On deployments without Edge Middleware, this lets anyone bypass Vercel's platform-level path restrictions entirely. The override preserves the original HTTP method and body, so this isn't limited to GET. POST, PUT, DELETE all land on the rewritten path. A Firewall rule blocking /admin/* does nothing when the request comes in as POST /api/health?x_astro_path=/admin/delete-user. This issue has been patched in version 10.0.2.

Astro has an Authentication Bypass via Double URL Encoding, a bypass for CVE-2025-64765

Astro is a web framework. Versions 5.15.7 and below have a double URL encoding bypass which allows any unauthenticated attacker to bypass path-based authentication checks in Astro middleware, granting unauthorized access to protected routes. While the original CVE-2025-64765 was fixed in v5.15.8, the fix is insufficient as it only decodes once. By using double-encoded URLs, attackers can still bypass authentication and access any route protected by middleware pathname checks. This issue is fixed in version 5.15.8.

Astro: URL manipulation via unsanitized headers leads to path-based middleware protections bypass, potential SSRF/cache-poisoning, CVE-2025-61925 bypass

Astro is a web framework. In Astro versions 2.16.0 up to but excluding 5.15.5 which utilizeon-demand rendering, request headers `x-forwarded-proto` and `x-forwarded-port` are insecurely used, without sanitization, to build the URL. This has several consequences, the most important of which are: middleware-based protected route bypass (only via `x-forwarded-proto`), DoS via cache poisoning (if a CDN is present), SSRF (only via `x-forwarded-proto`), URL pollution (potential SXSS, if a CDN is present), and WAF bypass. Version 5.15.5 contains a patch.

@astrojs/netlify broadens Astro image.remotePatterns in Netlify Image CDN config

@astrojs/netlify is an adapter that allows Astro to deploy your hybrid or server rendered site to Netlify. Prior to 7.0.13, @astrojs/netlify converts Astro image.remotePatterns into Netlify Image CDN images.remote_images regular expressions with broader semantics than Astro's canonical matcher. A single wildcard hostname such as *.example.com is converted to an optional subdomain regex, so the apex host matches. A single wildcard pathname such as /ok/* is converted without end anchoring, so deeper paths match by prefix. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.0.13.

Astro: Host-header full-read SSRF in core prerendered error-page fetch (prerenderedErrorPageFetch default + unvalidated createRequestFromNodeRequest URL)

Astro is a web framework. Prior to 6.4.6, Astro SSR apps with prerendered error pages (/404 or /500 using export const prerender = true) fetch those pages over HTTP at runtime when an error occurs. The URL for this fetch is derived from request.url, which in turn gets its origin from the incoming Host header. When the Host header is not validated against allowedDomains, an attacker can point the fetch at an arbitrary host and read the response. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.4.6.

Astro is vulnerable to SSRF due to missing allowlist enforcement in remote image inferSize

Astro is a web framework. In versions 9.0.0 through 9.5.3, a bug in Astro's image pipeline allows bypassing `image.domains` / `image.remotePatterns` restrictions, enabling the server to fetch content from unauthorized remote hosts. Astro provides an `inferSize` option that fetches remote images at render time to determine their dimensions. Remote image fetches are intended to be restricted to domains the site developer has manually authorized (using the `image.domains` or `image.remotePatterns` options). However, when `inferSize` is used, no domain validation is performed — the image is fetched from any host regardless of the configured restrictions. An attacker who can influence the image URL (e.g., via CMS content or user-supplied data) can cause the server to fetch from arbitrary hosts. This allows bypassing `image.domains` / `image.remotePatterns` restrictions to make server-side requests to unauthorized hosts. This includes the risk of server-side request forgery (SSRF) against internal network services and cloud metadata endpoints. Version 9.5.4 fixes the issue.

@astrojs/cloudflare: SSRF via redirect following in Cloudflare image-binding-transform endpoint

@astrojs/cloudflare is an SSR adapter for use with Cloudflare Workers targets. Prior to 13.1.10, the fetch() call for remote images in packages/integrations/cloudflare/src/utils/image-binding-transform.ts uses the default redirect: 'follow' behavior. This allows the Cloudflare Worker to follow HTTP redirects to arbitrary URLs, bypassing the isRemoteAllowed() domain allowlist check which only validates the initial URL. This vulnerabiity is caused by an incomplete fix for CVE-2025-58179. This vulnerability is fixed in 13.1.10.

Astro has Full-Read SSRF in error rendering via Host: header injection

Astro is a web framework. Prior to version 9.5.4, Server-Side Rendered pages that return an error with a prerendered custom error page (eg. `404.astro` or `500.astro`) are vulnerable to SSRF. If the `Host:` header is changed to an attacker's server, it will be fetched on `/500.html` and they can redirect this to any internal URL to read the response body through the first request. An attacker who can access the application without `Host:` header validation (eg. through finding the origin IP behind a proxy, or just by default) can fetch their own server to redirect to any internal IP. With this they can fetch cloud metadata IPs and interact with services in the internal network or localhost. For this to be vulnerable, a common feature needs to be used, with direct access to the server (no proxies). Version 9.5.4 fixes the issue.

SSRF Vulnerability in gradio-app/gradio

An SSRF vulnerability exists in the gradio-app/gradio due to insufficient validation of user-supplied URLs in the `/proxy` route. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by manipulating the `self.replica_urls` set through the `X-Direct-Url` header in requests to the `/` and `/config` routes, allowing the addition of arbitrary URLs for proxying. This flaw enables unauthorized proxying of requests and potential access to internal endpoints within the Hugging Face space. The issue arises from the application's inadequate checking of safe URLs in the `build_proxy_request` function.

The Royal Elementor Addons plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Server-Side Request Forgery in versions up to, and including, 1.7.1057. This is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied URLs in the render_csv_data() function, which can be bypassed by including 'docs.google.com/spreadsheets' in a query parameter, and the subsequent use of these URLs in fopen() calls without blocking internal or private network addresses. ftp client PASV response IP not validated against control peer, enabling SSRF and FTP bounce attacks

Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in Erlang/OTP ftp (ftp_internal module) allows FTP bounce attacks and SSRF via an unvalidated PASV response IP address. The ftp_internal:handle_ctrl_result/2 PASV handler (mode=passive, ipfamily=inet, ftp_extension=false) extracts the IP address from the server's 227 response and passes it directly to gen_tcp:connect/4 without validating it against the control connection peer address. The adjacent EPSV handlers correctly call peername(CSock) to derive the IP from the control connection, but the PASV handler does not. A malicious or compromised FTP server can redirect the client's data connection to an arbitrary internal host and port. On read operations (ftp:ls/1,2, ftp:nlist/1,2, ftp:recv/2,3), data from the redirected target is returned to the caller. On write operations (ftp:send/2,3, ftp:append/2,3), file content is sent to the redirected target. This enables SSRF against internal hosts, cloud metadata endpoints, and FTP bounce attacks against third-party hosts. The vulnerable path is the default configuration (mode=passive, ipfamily=inet, ftp_extension=false). RFC 2577 section 3 explicitly recommends validating the PASV response IP against the control connection peer. The ftp application is deprecated and scheduled for removal in OTP-30. This vulnerability is associated with program files lib/inets/src/ftp/ftp_internal.erl (inets 5.10.4 through 6.5, OTP 17.4 through 20.3) and lib/ftp/src/ftp_internal.erl (ftp 1.0 and later, OTP 21.0 and later). This issue affects OTP from OTP 17.4 before OTP 29.0.2, OTP 28.5.0.2 and OTP 27.3.4.13, corresponding to inets from 5.10.4 before 7.0 and ftp from 1.0 before 1.2.6, 1.2.4.1 and 1.2.3.1.

Coder vulnerable to unauthenticated SSRF via Azure Instance Identity Endpoint

Coder allows organizations to provision remote development environments via Terraform. Versions prior tp 2.24.5, 2.29.13, 2.30.8, 2.31.12, 2.32.2, and 2.33.3 are vulnerable to unauthenticated semi-blind Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) via the Azure instance identity endpoint (`POST /api/v2/workspaceagents/azure-instance-identity`). An external attacker can force the Coder server to issue HTTP GET requests to arbitrary internal or external hosts by submitting a crafted PKCS#7 signature. The server does not return the target's response body, but error messages in the API response reveal whether the target is reachable and what type of failure occurred. Versions 2.24.5, 2.29.13, 2.30.8, 2.31.12, 2.32.2, and 2.33.3 patch the issue. As a workaround, if the Azure identity-auth mechanism is not being used then restrict access to the corresponding endpoint (`/api/v2/workspaceagents/azure-instance-identity`) using ingress firewall and/or proxy ACLs.

web3.py affected by SSRF via CCIP Read (EIP-3668) OffchainLookup URL handling

web3.py allows you to interact with the Ethereum blockchain using Python. From 6.0.0b3 to before 7.15.0 and 8.0.0b2, web3.py implements CCIP Read / OffchainLookup (EIP-3668) by performing HTTP requests to URLs supplied by smart contracts in offchain_lookup_payload["urls"]. The implementation uses these contract-supplied URLs directly (after {sender} / {data} template substitution) without any destination validation. CCIP Read is enabled by default (global_ccip_read_enabled = True on all providers), meaning any application using web3.py's .call() method is exposed without explicit opt-in. This results in Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) when web3.py is used in backend services, indexers, APIs, or any environment that performs eth_call / .call() against untrusted or user-supplied contract addresses. A malicious contract can force the web3.py process to issue HTTP requests to arbitrary destinations, including internal network services and cloud metadata endpoints. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.15.0 and 8.0.0b2.

Chamilo LMS has Unauthenticated SSRF and Open Email Relay via install.ajax.php test_mailer action

Chamilo LMS is an open-source learning management system. In version 2.0-RC.2, the file public/main/inc/ajax/install.ajax.php is accessible without authentication on fully installed instances because, unlike other AJAX endpoints, it does not include the global.inc.php file that performs authentication and installation-completed checks. Its test_mailer action accepts an arbitrary Symfony Mailer DSN string from POST data and uses it to connect to an attacker-specified SMTP server, enabling Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) into internal networks via the SMTP protocol. An unauthenticated attacker can also abuse this to weaponize the Chamilo server as an open email relay for phishing and spam campaigns, with emails appearing to originate from the server's IP address. Additionally, error responses from failed SMTP connections may disclose information about internal network topology and running services. This issue has been fixed in version 2.0.0-RC.3.

Lemmy's Activitypub-Federation has SSRF via 0.0.0.0 bypass in activitypub-federation-rust v4_is_invalid()

Lemmy is a link aggregator and forum for the fediverse. Prior to version 0.7.0-beta.9, the `v4_is_invalid()` function in `activitypub-federation-rust` (`src/utils.rs`) does not check for `Ipv4Addr::UNSPECIFIED` (0.0.0.0). An unauthenticated attacker controlling a remote domain can point it to 0.0.0.0, bypass the SSRF protection introduced by the fix for CVE-2025-25194 (GHSA-7723-35v7-qcxw), and reach localhost services on the target server. Version 0.7.0-beta.9 patches the issue.

AVideo has SSRF Protection Bypass via HTTP Redirect in Image Download Endpoints

WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions up to and including 26.0, `isSSRFSafeURL()` validates URLs against private/reserved IP ranges before fetching, but `url_get_contents()` follows HTTP redirects without re-validating the redirect target. An attacker can bypass SSRF protection by redirecting from a public URL to an internal target. Commit 8b7e9dad359d5fac69e0cbbb370250e0b284bc12 contains a patch.

Faraday: Protocol-relative URI objects still bypass host scoping (possible incomplete fix for GHSA-33mh-2634-fwr2)

Faraday is an HTTP client library abstraction layer that provides a common interface over many adapters. Versions 2.0.0 through 2.14.1 still allow protocol-relative host override when the request target is passed as a URI object (rather than a String) to Faraday::Connection#build_exclusive_url. This bypasses the February 2026 fix for GHSA-33mh-2634-fwr2 and enables off-host request forgery: a request built from a fixed-base Faraday::Connection can be redirected to an attacker-controlled host, forwarding connection-scoped values such as Authorization headers and default query parameters. This issue has been fixed in version 2.14.3.

ZITADEL has potential SSRF via Actions

ZITADEL is an open source identity management platform. Zitadel Action V2 (introduced as early preview in 2.59.0, beta in 3.0.0 and GA in 4.0.0) is a webhook based approach to allow developers act on API request to Zitadel and customize flows such the issue of a token. Zitadel's Action target URLs can point to local hosts, potentially allowing adversaries to gather internal network information and connect to internal services. When the URL points to a local host / IP address, an adversary might gather information about the internal network structure, the services exposed on internal hosts etc. This is sometimes called a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF). Zitadel Actions expect responses according to specific schemas, which reduces the threat vector. The patch in version 4.11.1 resolves the issue by checking the target URL against a denylist. By default localhost, resp. loopback IPs are denied. Note that this fix was only released on v4.x. Due to the stage (preview / beta) in which the functionality was in v2.x and v3.x, the changes that have been applied to it since then and the severity, respectively the actual thread vector, a backport to the corresponding versions was not feasible. Please check the workaround section for alternative solutions if an upgrade to v4.x is not possible. If an upgrade is not possible, prevent actions from using unintended endpoints by setting network policies or firewall rules in one's own infrastructure. Note that this is outside of the functionality provided by Zitadel.

Craft has a SSRF in GraphQL Asset Mutation via HTTP Redirect

Craft is a platform for creating digital experiences. In Craft versions 4.0.0-RC1 through 4.16.17 and 5.0.0-RC1 through 5.8.21, the saveAsset GraphQL mutation validates the initial URL hostname and resolved IP against a blocklist, but Guzzle follows HTTP redirects by default. An attacker can bypass all SSRF protections by hosting a redirect that points to cloud metadata endpoints or any internal IP addresses. This issue is patched in versions 4.16.18 and 5.8.22.

Craft has a SSRF in GraphQL Asset Mutation via Alternative IP Notation

Craft is a platform for creating digital experiences. In Craft versions 4.0.0-RC1 through 4.16.17 and 5.0.0-RC1 through 5.8.21, the saveAsset GraphQL mutation uses filter_var(..., FILTER_VALIDATE_IP) to block a specific list of IP addresses. However, alternative IP notations (hexadecimal, mixed) are not recognized by this function, allowing attackers to bypass the blocklist and access cloud metadata services. This issue is patched in versions 4.16.18 and 5.8.22.
