The Migration, Backup, Staging – WPvivid plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Object Injection in all versions up to, and including, 0.9.107 via deserialization of untrusted input in the 'replace_row_data' and 'replace_serialize_data' functions. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject a PHP Object. No known POP chain is present in the vulnerable software. If a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it could allow the attacker to delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code. An administrator must create a staging site to trigger the exploit.

Hugging Face Transformers MobileViTV2 Deserialization of Untrusted Data Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Hugging Face Transformers. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the handling of configuration files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in deserialization of untrusted data. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current user. Was ZDI-CAN-24322.
In Progress Telerik UI for WinForms versions prior to 2024 Q4 (2024.4.1113), a code execution attack is possible through an insecure deserialization vulnerability.
Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability in yolo 5 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted yaml file.
A deserialization flaw is present in Taoensso Nippy before 2.14.2. In some circumstances, it is possible for an attacker to create a malicious payload that, when deserialized, will allow arbitrary code to be executed. This occurs because there is automatic use of the Java Serializable interface.
A CWE-502: Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability exists which could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the targeted system with SYSTEM privileges when placing a malicious user to be authenticated for this vulnerability to be successfully exploited. Affected Product: Schneider Electric Software Update (SESU) SUT Service component (V2.1.1 to V2.3.0)
A CWE-502 Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability exists in SCADAPack x70 Security Administrator (V1.2.0 and prior) which could allow arbitrary code execution when an attacker builds a custom .SDB file containing a malicious serialized buffer.
IBM Security Identity Manager 6.0.0 could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by the deserialization of untrusted data. By persuading a victim to visit a specially crafted Web site, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the system. IBM X-Force ID: 166456.
Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF), Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability in ThemeHigh Job Manager & Career – Manage job board listings, and recruitments. This issue affects Job Manager & Career – Manage job board listings, and recruitments: from n/a through 1.4.4.
An issue was discovered in Public Knowledge Project (PKP) pkp-lib before 3.1.2-2, as used in Open Journal Systems (OJS) before 3.1.2-2. Code injection can occur in the OJS report generator if an authenticated Journal Manager user visits a crafted URL, because unserialize is used.
Eclipse Memory Analyzer version 1.9.1 and earlier is subject to a deserialization vulnerability if an index file of a parsed heap dump is replaced by a malicious version and the heap dump is reopened in Memory Analyzer. The user must chose to reopen an already parsed heap dump with an untrusted index for the problem to occur. The problem can be averted if the index files from an untrusted source are deleted and the heap dump is opened and reparsed. Also some local configuration data is subject to a deserialization vulnerability if the local data were to be replaced with a malicious version. This can be averted if the local configuration data stored on the file system cannot be changed by an attacker. The vulnerability could possibly allow code execution on the local system.
The Windows component of Centrify Authentication and Privilege Elevation Services 3.4.0, 3.4.1, 3.4.2, 3.4.3, 3.5.0, 3.5.1 (18.8), 3.5.2 (18.11), and 3.6.0 (19.6) does not properly handle an unspecified exception during use of partially trusted assemblies to serialize input data, which allows attackers to execute arbitrary code inside the Centrify process via (1) a crafted application that makes a pipe connection to the process and sends malicious serialized data or (2) a crafted Microsoft Management Console snap-in control file.
Connected Components Workbench (v13.00.00 and prior), ISaGRAF Workbench (v6.0 though v6.6.9), and Safety Instrumented System Workstation (v1.2 and prior (for Trusted Controllers)) do not limit the objects that can be deserialized. This allows attackers to craft a malicious serialized object that, if opened by a local user in Connected Components Workbench, may result in arbitrary code execution. This vulnerability requires user interaction to be successfully exploited
mintinstall (aka Software Manager) 7.9.9 for Linux Mint allows code execution if a REVIEWS_CACHE file is controlled by an attacker, because an unpickle occurs. This is resolved in 8.0.0 and backports.
Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability in webdevstudios Constant Contact for WordPress allows Object Injection. This issue affects Constant Contact for WordPress: from n/a through 4.1.1.
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Laravel 5.1. Affected is an unknown function. The manipulation leads to deserialization. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The identifier of this vulnerability is VDB-206688.
A deserialization vulnerability in a .NET framework class used and not properly checked by Safety Designer all versions up to and including 1.11.0 allows an attacker to craft malicious project files. Opening/importing such a malicious project file would execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the current user when opened or imported by the Safety Designer. This compromises confidentiality integrity and availability. For the attack to succeed a user must manually open a malicious project file.
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of OPC Labs QuickOPC 2022.1. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The specific flaw exists within the processing of XML files in Connectivity Explorer. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in deserialization of untrusted data. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-16596.
Rockwell Automation ISaGRAF Workbench software versions 6.0 through 6.6.9 are affected by a Deserialization of Untrusted Data vulnerability. ISaGRAF Workbench does not limit the objects that can be deserialized. This vulnerability allows attackers to craft a malicious serialized object that, if opened by a local user in ISaGRAF Workbench, may result in remote code execution. This vulnerability requires user interaction to be successfully exploited.
LlamaIndex (run-llama/llama_index) versions up to and including 0.11.6 contain an unsafe deserialization vulnerability in BGEM3Index.load_from_disk() in llama_index/indices/managed/bge_m3/base.py. The function uses pickle.load() to deserialize multi_embed_store.pkl from a user-supplied persist_dir without validation. An attacker who can provide a crafted persist directory containing a malicious pickle file can trigger arbitrary code execution when the victim loads the index from disk.
Delta Electronics InfraSuite Device Master versions 00.00.01a and prior deserialize network packets without proper verification. If the device connects to an attacker-controlled server, the attacker could send maliciously crafted packets that would be deserialized and executed, leading to remote code execution.
Jooby is a web framework for Java and Kotlin. The pac4j io.jooby.internal.pac4j.SessionStoreImpl#get module deserializes untrusted data. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.17.0 (2.x) and 3.7.0 (3.x).
opensearch-ruby is a community-driven, open source fork of elasticsearch-ruby. In versions prior to 2.0.1 the ruby `YAML.load` function was used instead of `YAML.safe_load`. As a result opensearch-ruby 2.0.0 and prior can lead to unsafe deserialization using YAML.load if the response is of type YAML. An attacker must be in control of an opensearch server and convince the victim to connect to it in order to exploit this vulnerability. The problem has been patched in opensearch-ruby gem version 2.0.1. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this issue.
A vulnerability in the Snake YAML parser of Magnolia CMS v6.2.3 and below allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted YAML file.
An issue was discovered in Spipu HTML2PDF before 5.2.4. Attackers can trigger deserialization of arbitrary data via the injection of a malicious <link> tag in the converted HTML document.
Project files are stored memory objects in the form of binary serialized data that can later be read and deserialized again to instantiate the original objects in memory. Malicious manipulation of these files may allow an attacker to corrupt memory.
Nameko through 2.13.0 can be tricked into performing arbitrary code execution when deserializing the config file.
Lexmark Markvision Enterprise before 2.3.0 misuses the Apache Commons Collections Library, leading to remote code execution because of Java deserialization.
The Drag and Drop Multiple File Upload for Contact Form 7 plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to PHP Object Injection in all versions up to, and including, 1.3.8.7 via deserialization of untrusted input from the 'dnd_upload_cf7_upload' function. This makes it possible for attackers to inject a PHP Object through a PHAR file. No known POP chain is present in the vulnerable software, which means this vulnerability has no impact unless another plugin or theme containing a POP chain is installed on the site. If a POP chain is present via an additional plugin or theme installed on the target system, it may allow the attacker to perform actions like delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code depending on the POP chain present. This vulnerability may be exploited by unauthenticated attackers when a form is present on the site with the file upload action. The Flamingo plugin must be installed and activated in order to exploit the vulnerability. The vulnerability was partially patched in version 1.3.8.8.
In Progress Telerik UI for WPF versions prior to 2024 Q3 (2024.3.924), a code execution attack is possible through an insecure deserialization vulnerability.
There exists a use after free vulnerability in Reverb. Reverb supports the VARIANT datatype, which is supposed to represent an arbitrary object in C++. When a tensor proto of type VARIANT is unpacked, memory is first allocated to store the entire tensor, and a ctor is called on each instance. Afterwards, Reverb copies the content in tensor_content to the previously mentioned pre-allocated memory, which results in the bytes in tensor_content overwriting the vtable pointers of all the objects which were previously allocated. Reverb exposes 2 relevant gRPC endpoints: InsertStream and SampleStream. The attacker can insert this stream into the server’s database, then when the client next calls SampleStream they will unpack the tensor into RAM, and when any method on that object is called (including its destructor) the attacker gains control of the Program Counter.
