Aggregation sub-pipeline null dereference may allow DoS via crafted getMore

In MongoDB Server 8.0, an aggregation stage can leave its _subPipeline field null during processing of certain pipelines. If a getMore is subsequently issued on the same cursor, the server may dereference this null sub-pipeline when reattaching to the operation context, accessing an invalid address and crashing the process. This issue allows an authenticated user who can run aggregation pipelines to cause a denial of service by issuing a specially crafted aggregation followed by getMore on affected versions.

The $_internalConvertBucketIndexStats stage used PauseExecution as a way to signal "skip this document" when an index stats conversion failed. SurrealDB before v2.6.1 (and before v3.0.0-beta.3) contains a denial of service vulnerability in its embedded JavaScript scripting engine, which is enabled via the --allow-scripting capability (disabled by default). Any user able to execute arbitrary queries — including unauthenticated guests when --allow-guests is enabled — can use built-in string functions to construct a large string and pass it to the JavaScript runtime for compilation, triggering a null pointer dereference in the underlying QuickJS-NG engine. This causes the server process to terminate immediately without graceful shutdown, requiring a manual restart. The issue was fixed by updating the rquickjs dependency from v0.9.0 to v0.11.0.

Envoy crashes when JWT authentication is configured with the remote JWKS fetching

Envoy is a high-performance edge/middle/service proxy. In 1.33.12, 1.34.10, 1.35.6, 1.36.2, and earlier, Envoy crashes when JWT authentication is configured with the remote JWKS fetching, allow_missing_or_failed is enabled, multiple JWT tokens are present in the request headers and the JWKS fetch fails. This is caused by a re-entry bug in the JwksFetcherImpl. When the first token's JWKS fetch fails, onJwksError() callback triggers processing of the second token, which calls fetch() again on the same fetcher object. The original callback's reset() then clears the second fetch's state (receiver_ and request_) which causes a crash when the async HTTP response arrives.

Icinga 2 Denial of Service (DoS) By Dereferencing Invalid Reference

Icinga 2 is an open source monitoring system. From 2.10.0 to before 2.15.1, 2.14.7, and 2.13.13, when creating an invalid reference, such as a reference to null, dereferencing results in a segmentation fault. This can be used by any API user with access to an API endpoint that allows specifying a filter expression to crash the Icinga 2 daemon. A fix is included in the following Icinga 2 versions: 2.15.1, 2.14.7, and 2.13.13.
