IBM WebSphere Application Server 7.0, 8.0, 8.5, and 9.0 could allow a remote attacker to traverse directories on the system. An attacker could send a specially-crafted URL request containing "dot dot" sequences (/../) to view arbitrary files on the system.
Directory traversal in the log-download REST API endpoint in ProLion CryptoSpike 3.0.15P2 allows remote authenticated attackers to download host server SSH private keys (associated with a Linux root user) by injecting paths inside REST API endpoint parameters.
Horde IMP before 7.0.1 contains a path traversal vulnerability in lib/Compose.php that allows authenticated attackers to read arbitrary files from the server filesystem by embedding traversal sequences after a CKEditor path prefix in img src URLs. Attackers can bypass the stripos() prefix validation by appending sequences such as traversal segments after the matching prefix, causing file_get_contents() to read sensitive files whose contents are then exfiltrated as MIME parts in outgoing email; unauthenticated exploitation is also achievable via CSRF against an active authenticated session.
IBM Spectrum Protect Plus 10.1.0 through 10.1.6 could allow a remote attacker to traverse directories on the system. An attacker could send a specially-crafted URL request containing "dot dot" sequences (/../) to view arbitrary files on the system. IBM X-Force ID: 187501.
HAX CMS PHP allows users to manage their microsite universe with a PHP backend. Prior to version 11.0.0, an authenticated Local File Inclusion (LFI) vulnerability in the HAXCMS saveOutline endpoint allows a low-privileged user to read arbitrary files on the server by manipulating the location field written into site.json. This enables attackers to exfiltrate sensitive system files such as /etc/passwd, application secrets, or configuration files accessible to the web server (www-data). The vulnerability stems from the way the HAXCMS backend handles the location field in the site's outline. When a user sends a POST request to /system/api/saveOutline, the backend stores the provided location value directly into the site.json file associated with the site, without validating or sanitizing the input. Later the location parameter is interpreted by the CMS to resolve and load the content for a given node. If the location field contains a relative path like `../../../etc/passwd`, the application will attempt to read and render that file. Version 11.0.0 fixes the issue.
An issue in the FTP server of Sky File v2.1.0 allows attackers to perform directory traversal via `/null//` path commands.
SnapGear Management Console SG560 3.1.5 contains a file manipulation vulnerability that allows authenticated users to read, write, and delete files using the edit_config_files CGI script. Attackers can manipulate POST request parameters in /cgi-bin/cgix/edit_config_files to access and modify files outside the intended /etc/config/ directory.
Craft CMS from 4.0.0-RC1 contains an authenticated path traversal vulnerability in the assets/icon endpoint where the extension parameter is not validated before file existence checks. Attackers can bypass extension validation by passing traversal sequences that resolve to existing SVG files, allowing local file read access.
Multiple vulnerabilities in the REST API of Cisco UCS Director and Cisco UCS Director Express for Big Data may allow a remote attacker to bypass authentication or conduct directory traversal attacks on an affected device. For more information about these vulnerabilities, see the Details section of this advisory.
This vulnerability allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on affected installations of SolarWinds Orion Platform 2020.2.1. Authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within ExportToPDF.aspx. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied path prior to using it in file operations. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to disclose information in the context of SYSTEM. Was ZDI-CAN-11917.

hap-wi/roxy-wi is a web interface for managing Haproxy, Nginx, Apache and Keepalived servers. A Path Traversal vulnerability was found in the current version of Roxy-WI (6.3.9.0 at the moment of writing this report). The vulnerability can be exploited via an HTTP request to /app/options.py and the config_file_name parameter. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow an attacker with user level privileges to obtain the content of arbitrary files on the file server within the scope of what the server process has access to. The root-cause of the vulnerability lies in the get_config function of the /app/modules/config/config.py file, which only checks for relative path traversal, but still allows to read files from absolute locations passed via the config_file_name parameter.
An executable used in Rockwell Automation ThinManager ThinServer can be configured to enable an API feature in the HTTPS Server Settings. This feature is disabled by default. When the API is enabled and handling requests, a path traversal vulnerability exists that allows a remote actor to leverage the privileges of the server’s file system and read arbitrary files stored in it. A malicious user could exploit this vulnerability by executing a path that contains manipulating variables.
A vulnerability in the web-based management interface of Cisco SD-WAN vManage Software could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to conduct path traversal attacks and obtain read access to sensitive files on an affected system. The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of HTTP requests. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request that contains directory traversal character sequences to an affected system. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to view arbitrary files on the affected system.

Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability in Apache OpenMeetings. This issue affects Apache OpenMeetings: from 5.0.0 before 9.1.0. An attacker with moderator rights in any room can read arbitrary files accessible to the OS account running the OM server, including credentials and secrets, via a crafted download request. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 9.1.0, which fixes the issue.
Knowage is the professional open source suite for modern business analytics over traditional sources and big data systems. The endpoint `_/knowage/restful-services/dossier/importTemplateFile_` allows authenticated users to download template hosted on the server. However, starting in the 6.x.x branch and prior to version 8.1.8, the application does not sanitize the `_templateName_ `parameter allowing an attacker to use `*../*` in it, and escaping the directory the template are normally placed and download any file from the system. This vulnerability allows a low privileged attacker to exfiltrate sensitive configuration file. This issue has been patched in Knowage version 8.1.8.
Typemill before 2.24.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows authenticated attackers with Author-level privileges to read arbitrary files outside the content directory by supplying traversal sequences in the path query parameter passed to Storage::getFile() with an empty folder argument. Attackers can bypass traversal-prevention controls in Storage::getFolderPath() to access sensitive files.
IBM Financial Transaction Manager (FTM) for Multi-Platform (MP) v2.0.0.0 through 2.0.0.5, v2.1.0.0 through 2.1.0.4, v2.1.1.0 through 2.1.1.4, and v3.0.0.0 through 3.0.0.8 could allow a remote attacker to traverse directories on the system. An attacker could send a specially-crafted URL request containing "dot dot" sequences (/../) to view arbitrary files on the system. IBM X-Force ID: 150946.
The K2 frontend article-save handler accepts an `attachment[N][existing]` POST field that is concatenated with `JPATH_SITE/` and passed to `JFile::copy()`. `JPath::clean` does NOT strip `..`, and there is no allow-list of source paths. An Author can therefore copy `configuration.php` (or any other file readable by the web user — including `../../../etc/passwd`) into `/media/k2/attachments/`, then retrieve the contents via the K2 attachment-download endpoint.
Path traversal vulnerability in Apache MINA SSHD bundle sshd-git. Lack of path validation in git-upload-pack, git-receive-pack, and other git operations allows users authenticated over SSH access to git repositories outside the configured git server root directory. Applications are affected if they use org.apache.sshd:sshd-git. Applications not using sshd-git are not affected. Users are advised to upgrade affected applications to Apche MINA SSHD 2.18.0, which fixes the issue. The issue also is present in the pre-release milestones 3.0.0-M1 to 3.0.0-M3 for a new upcoming new major version 3.0.0. Again, applications are affected only if they use sshd-git. Upgrade affected applications to 3.0.0-M4. We would like to point out that a professional git server should not rely solely on file system layout and permissions, but should implement additional security controls to govern access to git repositories and operations allowed on particular git repositories.
The Post and Page Builder by BoldGrid – Visual Drag and Drop Editor plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Path Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 1.27.6 via the template_via_url() function. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to read the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can contain sensitive information.
A path traversal vulnerability has been reported to affect Qsync Central. If a remote attacker gains a user account, they can then exploit the vulnerability to read the contents of unexpected files or system data. A low-privileged remote attacker can exploit the ubr-logread method in wwwubr.cgi to read arbitrary files on the system. The endpoint accepts a parameter specifying the log file to open (e.g., /tmp/weblog{some_number}), but this parameter is not properly validated, allowing an attacker to modify it to reference any file and retrieve its contents.
Advantech WebAccess/VPN versions prior to 1.1.5 contain an absolute path traversal via AjaxStandaloneVpnClientsController.ajaxDownloadRoadWarriorConfigFileAction() that allows an authenticated network administrator to cause the application to read and return the contents of arbitrary files the web user (www-data) can access.
The Breaking News WP plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Local File Inclusion in all versions up to, and including, 1.3. This is due to the brnwp_ajax_form AJAX endpoint lacking both authorization checks and CSRF verification, combined with insufficient path validation when the brnwp_theme option value is passed directly to an include() statement in the brnwp_show_breaking_news_wp() shortcode handler. While sanitize_text_field() is applied to user input, it does not strip directory traversal sequences (../). This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to overwrite the brnwp_theme option with a directory traversal payload (e.g., ../../../../etc/passwd) and subsequently trigger file inclusion of arbitrary files on the server when the shortcode is rendered.
CISA Thorium does not adequately validate the paths of downloaded files via 'download_ephemeral' and 'download_children'. A remote, authenticated attacker could access arbitrary files subject to file system permissions. Fixed in 1.1.2.
OpenHarness prior to commit dd1d235 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows remote gateway users with chat access to read arbitrary files by supplying path traversal sequences to the /memory show slash command. Attackers can manipulate the path input parameter to escape the project memory directory and access sensitive files accessible to the OpenHarness process without filesystem containment validation.
Path Traversal vulnerability in version 4.4.2236.1 of TESI Gandia Integra Total. This issue allows an authenticated attacker to download a ZIP file containing files from the server, including those located in parent directories (e.g., ..\..\..), by exploiting the “direstudio” parameter in “/encuestas/integraweb[_v4]/integra/html/view/comprimir.php”.
A path traversal vulnerability has been reported to affect Qsync Central. If a remote attacker gains a user account, they can then exploit the vulnerability to read the contents of unexpected files or system data.
