WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions 29.0 and below, the directory traversal fix introduced in commit 2375eb5e0 for `objects/aVideoEncoderReceiveImage.json.php` only checks the URL path component (via `parse_url($url, PHP_URL_PATH)`) for `..` sequences. However, the downstream function `try_get_contents_from_local()` in `objects/functionsFile.php` uses `explode('/videos/', $url)` on the **full URL string** including the query string. An attacker can place the `/videos/../../` traversal payload in the query string to bypass the security check and read arbitrary files from the server filesystem. Commit bd11c16ec894698e54e2cdae25026c61ad1ed441 contains an updated fix.

Backstage is an open framework for building developer portals. When using the AWS S3 or GCS storage provider for TechDocs it is possible to access content in the entire storage bucket. SciTokens is a reference library for generating and using SciTokens. Prior to version 1.9.7, the Enforcer is vulnerable to a path traversal attack where an attacker can use dot-dot (..) in the scope claim of a token to escape the intended directory restriction. This occurs because the library normalizes both the authorized path (from the token) and the requested path (from the application) before comparing them using startswith. This issue has been patched in version 1.9.7.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. In versions 3.6.0 and below, the /api/lute/html2BlockDOM on the desktop copies local files pointed to by file:// links in pasted HTML into the workspace assets directory without validating paths against a sensitive-path list. Together with GET /assets/*path, which only requires authentication, a publish-service visitor can cause the desktop kernel to copy any readable sensitive file and then read it via GET, leading to exfiltration of sensitive files. This issue has been fixed in version 3.6.1.

Versions prior to 0.44.0 are vulnerable to path traversal in the picture and movie API endpoints, suhc as /picture/{id}/preview/{filename}. Neither the API handlers, nor the mediafiles.py functions such as get_media_preview() check for .. sequences in the filename parameter, except for get_media_content(). This allows an authenticated user with normal (non-admin) privileges to read arbitrary files from the filesystem as the motionEye process user, such as: /etc/passwd, /etc/shadow, motionEye config files containing password hashes and plaintext passwords, SSH keys, and other cameras' surveillance footage. This issue has been fixed in version 0.44.0.

Flare is a Next.js-based, self-hostable file sharing platform that integrates with screenshot tools. Prior to 1.7.3, an authenticated path traversal vulnerability in /api/avatars/[filename] allows any logged-in user to read arbitrary files from within the application container. The filename URL parameter is passed to path.join() without sanitization, and getFileStream() performs no path validation, enabling %2F-encoded ../ sequences to escape the uploads/avatars/ directory and read any file accessible to the nextjs process under /app/. Authentication is enforced by Next.js middleware. However, on instances with open registration enabled (the default), any attacker can self-register and immediately exploit this. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.7.3.

In versions prior to 2.7.1 a user who has permission to create a resource file through UI operations is able to append a path to their submission query which will be read by the system and displayed to the user. This allows a users of the system to read arbitrary files on the filesystem of the server so long as the server process itself has permission to read the requested files. This issue has been addressed in version 2.7.1. All users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this issue.
