A vulnerability in the privilege management functionality of all Cisco BroadWorks server types could allow an authenticated, local attacker to elevate privileges to root on an affected system. This vulnerability is due to incorrect implementation of user role permissions. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by authenticating to the application as a user with the BWORKS or BWSUPERADMIN role and issuing crafted commands on an affected system. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute commands beyond the sphere of their intended access level, including initiating installs or running operating system commands with elevated permissions. There are workarounds that address this vulnerability.
In System UI, there is a possible factory reset protection bypass due to a logic error in the code. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.

A vulnerability in the installer script of Cisco AppDynamics PHP Agent could allow an authenticated, local attacker to elevate privileges on an affected device. This vulnerability is due to insufficient permissions that are set by the PHP Agent Installer on the PHP Agent install directory. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by modifying objects in the PHP Agent install directory, which would run with the same privileges as PHP. A successful exploit could allow a lower-privileged attacker to elevate their privileges to root on an affected device.

A privilege escalation attack was found in apport-cli 2.26.0 and earlier which is similar to CVE-2023-26604. If a system is specially configured to allow unprivileged users to run sudo apport-cli, less is configured as the pager, and the terminal size can be set: a local attacker can escalate privilege. It is extremely unlikely that a system administrator would configure sudo to allow unprivileged users to perform this class of exploit.
arch/x86/kernel/entry_64.S in the Linux kernel before 3.17.5 does not properly handle faults associated with the Stack Segment (SS) segment register, which allows local users to gain privileges by triggering an IRET instruction that leads to access to a GS Base address from the wrong space.
A flaw was found in the QEMU Guest Agent service for Windows. A local unprivileged user may be able to manipulate the QEMU Guest Agent's Windows installer via repair custom actions to elevate their privileges on the system.
A flaw was found in automationbroker/apb container in versions up to and including 2.0.4-1. This container grants all users sudoer permissions allowing an unauthorized user with access to the running container the ability to escalate their own privileges. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality and integrity as well as system availability.

An issue was discovered in the changePassword method in file /usr/share/php/openmediavault/system/user.inc in OpenMediaVault 7.4.17 allowing local authenticated attackers to escalate privileges to root.
An issue in the component DirectIo64.sys of PassMark BurnInTest v11.0 Build 1011, OSForensics v11.1 Build 1007, and PerformanceTest v11.1 Build 1004 allows attackers to access kernel memory and escalate privileges via a crafted IOCTL 0x8011E044 call.
An issue was discovered in Acuant AsureID Sentinel before 5.2.149. It allows elevation of privileges because it opens Notepad after the installation of AssureID, Identify x64, and Identify x86, aka CORE-7361.
Juniper Junos OS 13.2 before 13.2R5, 13.2X51, 13.2X52, and 13.3 before 13.3R3 allow local users to bypass intended restrictions and execute arbitrary Python code via vectors involving shell access.
Cellebrite UFED 5.0 to 7.5.0.845 implements local operating system policies that can be circumvented to obtain a command prompt via the Windows file dialog that is reachable via the Certificate-Based Authentication option of the Wireless Network Connection screen.
An issue was discovered in Acuant AcuFill SDK before 10.22.02.03. During installation, an EXE gets executed out of C:\Windows\Temp. A standard user can create the path file ahead of time and obtain elevated code execution. Permissions need to be modified to prevent manipulation.

Proofpoint Enterprise Protection (PPS/PoD) contains a vulnerability which allows the pps user to escalate to root privileges due to unnecessary permissions. This affects all versions 8.19.0 and below.
Local privilege escalation due to insecure driver communication port permissions. The following products are affected: Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office (Windows) before build 40173, Acronis Agent (Windows) before build 30600, Acronis Cyber Protect 15 (Windows) before build 30984.
CloudCTI HIP Integrator Recognition Configuration Tool allows privilege escalation via its EXQUISE integration. This tool communicates with a service (Recognition Update Client Service) via an insecure communication channel (Named Pipe). The data (JSON) sent via this channel is used to import data from CRM software using plugins (.dll files). The plugin to import data from the EXQUISE software (DatasourceExquiseExporter.dll) can be persuaded to start arbitrary programs (including batch files) that are executed using the same privileges as Recognition Update Client Service (NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM), thus elevating privileges. This occurs because a higher-privileged process executes scripts from a directory writable by a lower-privileged user.
Improper privilege management in Windows Remote Access Connection Manager allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges locally.
In loadDescription of DeviceAdminInfo.java, there is a possible persistent package due to improper input validation. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
Local privilege escalation due to insecure folder permissions. The following products are affected: Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office (Windows) before build 39900.
