ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Versions up to and including 1.4.2 of the `@apostrophecms/seo` package injects the Google Analytics Tracking ID (`seoGoogleTrackingId`) and Google Tag Manager ID (`seoGoogleTagManager`) directly into `<script>` tag bodies using JavaScript template literals without any sanitization or validation. Any user with editor-level access (the default role for content managers) can set these fields to a malicious value, resulting in stored XSS that executes on every page for every visitor of the site. As of time of publication, no known patched versions are available.
ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system, and sanitize-html provides a simple HTML sanitizer with a clear API. Versions of sanitize-html prior to 2.17.5 use `allowedSchemesAppliedToAttributes` (default: `['href', 'src', 'cite']`) to gate the `naughtyHref()` function that blocks dangerous URI schemes like `javascript:` and `vbscript:`. The HTML specification defines 10+ attributes that accept URIs (`action`, `formaction`, `data`, `poster`, `background`, `ping`, `xlink:href`, `dynsrc`, `lowsrc`), but none of these are included in the default gate list. When a developer allows any of these attributes in their configuration, `javascript:` URIs pass through completely unmodified, enabling XSS. Version 2.17.5 patches the issue.
`sanitize-html` prior to version 2.0.0-beta is vulnerable to Cross-site Scripting (XSS). The `sanitizeHtml()` function in `index.js` does not sanitize content when using the custom `transformTags` option, which is intended to convert attribute values into text. As a result, malicious input can be transformed into executable code.
ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system, and sanitize-html provides a simple HTML sanitizer with a clear API. Under the default configuration, versions of `sanitize-html` prior to 2.17.4 can turn attacker-controlled content inside a disallowed `xmp` element into live HTML or JavaScript. This is a sanitizer bypass in the default `disallowedTagsMode: 'discard'` path and can lead to stored XSS in applications that render sanitized output back to users. Version 2.17.4 patches the issue.
ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Version 4.29.0 has a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the image widget functionality. A user with the Editor role can configure an image widget link to use a javascript: URL payload. Because editors have permission to publish pages, the malicious widget can be published to the live site. When another user, including an administrator or public visitor, clicks the affected image/link, arbitrary JavaScript executes in the victim’s browser. As of time of publication, no known patched versions are available.
ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Versions up to and including 4.29.0 are vulnerable to stored cross-site scripting via unsanitized user display name in draft version tooltip. As of time of publication, no known patched versions are available.
ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. A regression introduced in commit 49d0bb7, included in versions 2.17.1 of the ApostropheCMS-maintained sanitize-html package bypasses allowedTags enforcement for text inside nonTextTagsArray elements (textarea and option). ApostropheCMS version 4.28.0 is affected through its dependency on the vulnerable sanitize-html version. The code at packages/sanitize-html/index.js:569-573 incorrectly assumes that htmlparser2 does not decode entities inside these elements and skips escaping, but htmlparser2 10.x does decode entities before passing text to the ontext callback. As a result, entity-encoded HTML is decoded by the parser and then written directly to the output as literal HTML characters, completely bypassing the allowedTags filter. An attacker can inject arbitrary tags including XSS payloads through any allowed option or textarea element using entity encoding. This affects non-default configurations where option or textarea are included in allowedTags, which is common in form builders and CMS platforms. This issue has been fixed in version 2.17.2 of sanitize-html and 4.29.0 of ApostropheCMS.
ApostropheCMS is an open-source Node.js content management system. Versions 4.28.0 and prior contain a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the @apostrophecms/color-field module, where color values prefixed with -- bypass TinyColor validation intended for CSS custom properties, and the launder.string() call performs only type coercion without stripping HTML metacharacters. These unsanitized values are then concatenated directly into <style> tags both in per-widget style elements rendered for all visitors and in the global stylesheet rendered for editors, with the output marked as safe HTML. An editor can inject a value which closes the style tag and executes arbitrary JavaScript in the browser of every visitor to any page containing the affected widget. This enables mass session hijacking, cookie theft, and privilege escalation to administrative control if an admin views draft content. This issue has been fixed in version 4.29.0.
sanitize-html before 1.4.3 has XSS.
'sanitize-html' prior to version 1.0.3 is vulnerable to Cross-site Scripting (XSS). The function 'naughtyHref' doesn't properly validate the hyperreference (`href`) attribute in anchor tags (`<a>`), allowing bypasses that contain different casings, whitespace characters, or hexadecimal encodings.
Apostrophe CMS versions between 2.63.0 to 3.3.1 are vulnerable to Stored XSS where an editor uploads an SVG file that contains malicious JavaScript onto the Images module, which triggers XSS once viewed.

The Web Application component of TIBCO Software Inc.'s TIBCO EBX and TIBCO Product and Service Catalog powered by TIBCO EBX contains an easily exploitable vulnerability that allows a low privileged attacker with network access to execute a stored XSS on the affected system. Affected releases are TIBCO Software Inc.'s TIBCO EBX: versions 5.9.22 and below, versions 6.0.13 and below and TIBCO Product and Service Catalog powered by TIBCO EBX: versions 5.0.0 and below.
A stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in the mintplex-labs/anything-llm application, affecting versions up to and including the latest before 1.0.0. The vulnerability arises from the application's failure to properly sanitize and validate user-supplied URLs before embedding them into the application UI as external links with custom icons. Specifically, the application does not prevent the inclusion of 'javascript:' protocol payloads in URLs, which can be exploited by a user with manager role to execute arbitrary JavaScript code in the context of another user's session. This flaw can be leveraged to steal the admin's authorization token by crafting malicious URLs that, when clicked by the admin, send the token to an attacker-controlled server. The attacker can then use this token to perform unauthorized actions, escalate privileges to admin, or directly take over the admin account. The vulnerability is triggered when the malicious link is opened in a new tab using either the CTRL + left mouse button click or the mouse scroll wheel click, or in some non-updated versions of modern browsers, by directly clicking on the link.
GitLab has remediated an issue in GitLab EE affecting all versions from 18.7 before 18.9.7, 18.10 before 18.10.6, and 18.11 before 18.11.3 that could have allowed an authenticated user to execute arbitrary JavaScript in other users' browsers due to improper input sanitization.
ZITADEL users can upload their own avatar image and various image types are allowed. Due to a missing check, an attacker could upload HTML and pretend it is an image to gain access to the victim's account in certain scenarios. A possible victim would need to directly open the supposed image in the browser, where a session in ZITADEL needs to be active for this exploit to work. The exploit could only be reproduced if the victim was using Firefox. Chrome, Safari as well as Edge did not execute the code. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.48.3, 2.47.8, 2.46.5, 2.45.5, 2.44.7, 2.43.11, and 2.42.17.
An issue has been discovered in GitLab CE/EE affecting all versions starting from 15.11 before 15.11.7, all versions starting from 16.0 before 16.0.2. ESPHome is a system to control your ESP8266/ESP32 for Home Automation systems. Starting in version 2023.12.9 and prior to version 2024.2.2, editing the configuration file API in dashboard component of ESPHome version 2023.12.9 (command line installation and Home Assistant add-on) serves unsanitized data with `Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8`, allowing a remote authenticated user to inject arbitrary web script and exfiltrate session cookies via Cross-Site scripting. It is possible for a malicious authenticated user to inject arbitrary Javascript in configuration files using a POST request to the /edit endpoint, the configuration parameter allows to specify the file to write. To trigger the XSS vulnerability, the victim must visit the page` /edit?configuration=[xss file]`. Abusing this vulnerability a malicious actor could perform operations on the dashboard on the behalf of a logged user, access sensitive information, create, edit and delete configuration files and flash firmware on managed boards. In addition to this, cookies are not correctly secured, allowing the exfiltration of session cookie values. Version 2024.2.2 contains a patch for this issue.
Plate is a rich-text editor with AI and shadcn/ui. From 53.0.0 until 53.1.4, the media embed renderer trusts serialized provider or sourceUrl metadata in useMediaState and skips parseMediaUrl protocol validation, allowing a crafted Plate document to set a known video provider while keeping url as a javascript: iframe source that the registry MediaEmbedElement renders directly as an iframe src when a victim opens the document. This issue is fixed in version 53.1.4.
view_component is a framework for building reusable, testable, and encapsulated view components in Ruby on Rails. From 4.0.0 until 4.12.0, ViewComponent::Base#around_render can return HTML-unsafe strings that bypass the escaping behavior applied to normal #call return values. This creates an XSS risk when downstream applications use around_render to wrap, replace, instrument, or conditionally return content that includes user-controlled data, and ViewComponent::Collection#render_in can amplify the issue by joining per-item results and marking the entire output html_safe, converting raw unsafe output into an ActiveSupport::SafeBuffer. This issue is fixed in version 4.12.0.
