crypto: ccp - Use kzalloc for sev ioctl interfaces to prevent kernel memory leak

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: ccp - Use kzalloc for sev ioctl interfaces to prevent kernel memory leak For some sev ioctl interfaces, input may be passed that is less than or equal to SEV_FW_BLOB_MAX_SIZE, but larger than the data that PSP firmware returns. In this case, kmalloc will allocate memory that is the size of the input rather than the size of the data. Since PSP firmware doesn't fully overwrite the buffer, the sev ioctl interfaces with the issue may return uninitialized slab memory. Currently, all of the ioctl interfaces in the ccp driver are safe, but to prevent future problems, change all ioctl interfaces that allocate memory with kmalloc to use kzalloc and memset the data buffer to zero in sev_ioctl_do_platform_status.

r6040: Fix kmemleak in probe and remove

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: r6040: Fix kmemleak in probe and remove There is a memory leaks reported by kmemleak: unreferenced object 0xffff888116111000 (size 2048): comm "modprobe", pid 817, jiffies 4294759745 (age 76.502s) hex dump (first 32 bytes): 00 c4 0a 04 81 88 ff ff 08 10 11 16 81 88 ff ff ................ 08 10 11 16 81 88 ff ff 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ backtrace: [<ffffffff815bcd82>] kmalloc_trace+0x22/0x60 [<ffffffff827e20ee>] phy_device_create+0x4e/0x90 [<ffffffff827e6072>] get_phy_device+0xd2/0x220 [<ffffffff827e7844>] mdiobus_scan+0xa4/0x2e0 [<ffffffff827e8be2>] __mdiobus_register+0x482/0x8b0 [<ffffffffa01f5d24>] r6040_init_one+0x714/0xd2c [r6040] ... The problem occurs in probe process as follows: r6040_init_one: mdiobus_register mdiobus_scan <- alloc and register phy_device, the reference count of phy_device is 3 r6040_mii_probe phy_connect <- connect to the first phy_device, so the reference count of the first phy_device is 4, others are 3 register_netdev <- fault inject succeeded, goto error handling path // error handling path err_out_mdio_unregister: mdiobus_unregister(lp->mii_bus); err_out_mdio: mdiobus_free(lp->mii_bus); <- the reference count of the first phy_device is 1, it is not released and other phy_devices are released // similarly, the remove process also has the same problem The root cause is traced to the phy_device is not disconnected when removes one r6040 device in r6040_remove_one() or on error handling path after r6040_mii probed successfully. In r6040_mii_probe(), a net ethernet device is connected to the first PHY device of mii_bus, in order to notify the connected driver when the link status changes, which is the default behavior of the PHY infrastructure to handle everything. Therefore the phy_device should be disconnected when removes one r6040 device or on error handling path. Fix it by adding phy_disconnect() when removes one r6040 device or on error handling path after r6040_mii probed successfully.

ALSA: aoa: i2sbus: fix possible memory leak in i2sbus_add_dev()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: aoa: i2sbus: fix possible memory leak in i2sbus_add_dev() dev_set_name() in soundbus_add_one() allocates memory for name, it need be freed when of_device_register() fails, call soundbus_dev_put() to give up the reference that hold in device_initialize(), so that it can be freed in kobject_cleanup() when the refcount hit to 0. And other resources are also freed in i2sbus_release_dev(), so it can return 0 directly.

staging: greybus: audio_helper: remove unused and wrong debugfs usage

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: greybus: audio_helper: remove unused and wrong debugfs usage In the greybus audio_helper code, the debugfs file for the dapm has the potential to be removed and memory will be leaked. There is also the very real potential for this code to remove ALL debugfs entries from the system, and it seems like this is what will really happen if this code ever runs. This all is very wrong as the greybus audio driver did not create this debugfs file, the sound core did and controls the lifespan of it. So remove all of the debugfs logic from the audio_helper code as there's no way it could be correct. If this really is needed, it can come back with a fixup for the incorrect usage of the debugfs_lookup() call which is what caused this to be noticed at all.

staging: rtl8723bs: fix potential memory leak in rtw_init_drv_sw()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: rtl8723bs: fix potential memory leak in rtw_init_drv_sw() In rtw_init_drv_sw(), there are various init functions are called to populate the padapter structure and some checks for their return value. However, except for the first one error path, the other five error paths do not properly release the previous allocated resources, which leads to various memory leaks. This patch fixes them and keeps the success and error separate. Note that these changes keep the form of `rtw_init_drv_sw()` in "drivers/staging/r8188eu/os_dep/os_intfs.c". As there is no proper device to test with, no runtime testing was performed.

kunit: executor: Fix a memory leak on failure in kunit_filter_tests

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: kunit: executor: Fix a memory leak on failure in kunit_filter_tests It's possible that memory allocation for 'filtered' will fail, but for the copy of the suite to succeed. In this case, the copy could be leaked. Properly free 'copy' in the error case for the allocation of 'filtered' failing. Note that there may also have been a similar issue in kunit_filter_subsuites, before it was removed in "kunit: flatten kunit_suite*** to kunit_suite** in .kunit_test_suites". lib/string_helpers: fix not adding strarray to device's resource list

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: lib/string_helpers: fix not adding strarray to device's resource list Add allocated strarray to device's resource list. This is a must to automatically release strarray when the device disappears. Without this fix we have a memory leak in the few drivers which use devm_kasprintf_strarray().

iavf: Fix handling of dummy receive descriptors

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iavf: Fix handling of dummy receive descriptors Fix memory leak caused by not handling dummy receive descriptor properly. iavf_get_rx_buffer now sets the rx_buffer return value for dummy receive descriptors. Without this patch, when the hardware writes a dummy descriptor, iavf would not free the page allocated for the previous receive buffer. This is an unlikely event but can still happen. nfc: nfcmrvl: Fix memory leak in nfcmrvl_play_deferred

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nfc: nfcmrvl: Fix memory leak in nfcmrvl_play_deferred Similar to the handling of play_deferred in commit 19cfe912c37b ("Bluetooth: btusb: Fix memory leak in play_deferred"), we thought a patch might be needed here as well. Currently usb_submit_urb is called directly to submit deferred tx urbs after unanchor them. So the usb_giveback_urb_bh would failed to unref it in usb_unanchor_urb and cause memory leak. Put those urbs in tx_anchor to avoid the leak, and also fix the error handling.

ibmvnic: Free rwi on reset success

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ibmvnic: Free rwi on reset success Free the rwi structure in the event that the last rwi in the list processed successfully. The logic in commit 4f408e1fa6e1 ("ibmvnic: retry reset if there are no other resets") introduces an issue that results in a 32 byte memory leak whenever the last rwi in the list gets processed.
