SiYuan: SiYuan publish-mode Reader can mutate Conf and SQL index via 8 ungated APIs

SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.7.0, SiYuan publish-mode Reader can mutate Conf and SQL index via 8 ungated APIs. POST /api/graph/getGraph, POST /api/graph/getLocalGraph, POST /api/sync/setSyncInterval, POST /api/storage/updateRecentDocViewTime, POST /api/storage/updateRecentDocCloseTime, POST /api/storage/updateRecentDocOpenTime, POST /api/storage/batchUpdateRecentDocCloseTime, and POST /api/search/updateEmbedBlock are registered with model.CheckAuth only, omitting both model.CheckAdminRole and model.CheckReadonly. Each of them writes server-side state, including atomic rewrites of <workspace>/conf/conf.json via model.Conf.Save(). Any caller whose JWT passes CheckAuth, including a publish-service RoleReader (the role assigned to anonymous publish visitors) and a RoleEditor against a workspace where Editor.ReadOnly = true, can hit them This vulnerability is fixed in 3.7.0.

SiYuan before v3.7.2 Unauthenticated Administrator Takeover via MCP

SiYuan before v3.7.2 contains a missing authorization vulnerability in the POST /mcp kernel endpoint, which is gated only by a general auth check (model.CheckAuth) with no admin-role or read-only enforcement. This exposes 31 MCP tools, including a file tool with list/read/write/delete/rename/copy actions across the entire workspace. When the Publish server is enabled in anonymous mode (Conf.Publish.Enable=true and Conf.Publish.Auth.Enable=false), the Publish reverse proxy attaches an anonymous RoleReader JWT to proxied requests, allowing a remote unauthenticated attacker to reach /mcp. The attacker can read conf/conf.json to extract accessAuthCode, api.token, and cookieKey in plaintext, write arbitrary files in the workspace, and plant a plugin into data/plugins/ that executes with nodeIntegration:true and no contextIsolation on the next desktop launch, leading to administrator takeover.

SiYuan: Publish-mode Reader can exfiltrate private saved-search Criteria via /api/storage/getCriteria (missing publish-access filter)

SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.7.1, the /api/storage/getCriteria endpoint returns saved search criteria from data/storage/criteria.json without the publish-access filtering used by sibling storage endpoints, allowing a publish-mode Reader to read private document paths, notebook, document, and block IDs, and search and replace keywords for unpublished documents. This issue is fixed in versions 3.7.1.

SiYuan: Broken access control in SiYuan `/api/tag/getTag` — Reader role can mutate `Conf.Tag.Sort` and persist to disk

SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.7.0, POST /api/tag/getTag is registered with model.CheckAuth only, omitting both model.CheckAdminRole and model.CheckReadonly, despite the handler performing a configuration write that is normally guarded by both. Any authenticated user — including publish-service RoleReader accounts and RoleEditor accounts on a read-only workspace — can call this endpoint with a sort argument to mutate model.Conf.Tag.Sort and trigger model.Conf.Save(), which atomically rewrites the entire workspace conf.json. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.7.0.

SiYuan: Publish Reader Can Arbitrarily Delete Attribute View Files via removeUnusedAttributeView API

SiYuan is an open-source personal knowledge management system. In versions 3.6.3 and below, the /api/av/removeUnusedAttributeView endpoint is protected only by generic authentication that accepts publish-service RoleReader tokens. The handler passes a caller-controlled id directly to a model function that unconditionally deletes the corresponding attribute view file from the workspace without verifying that the caller has write privileges or that the target attribute view is actually unused. An authenticated publish-service reader can permanently delete arbitrary attribute view definitions by extracting publicly exposed data-av-id values from published content, causing breakage of database views and workspace rendering until manually restored. This issue has been fixed in version 3.6.4.

SiYuan Note publish service authorization bypass allows low-privilege users to modify notebook content

SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.5.10, a privilege escalation vulnerability exists in the publish service of SiYuan Note that allows low-privilege publish accounts (RoleReader) to modify notebook content via the /api/block/appendHeadingChildren API endpoint. The endpoint requires only the model.CheckAuth role, which accepts RoleReader sessions, but it does not enforce stricter checks, such as CheckAdminRole or CheckReadonly. This allows remote authenticated publish users with read-only privileges to append new blocks to existing documents, compromising the integrity of stored notes.

SiYuan renderSprig: missing admin check allows any user to read full workspace DB

SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.6.1, POST /api/template/renderSprig lacks model.CheckAdminRole, allowing any authenticated user to execute arbitrary SQL queries against the SiYuan workspace database and exfiltrate all note content, metadata, and custom attributes. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.6.1.

Capgo - Unauthorized Channel Overwrite and Ownership Takeover via POST /channel Name Collision

Capgo before 12.128.2 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability in the channel creation endpoint that allows authenticated users to overwrite existing channels by reusing their names. Attackers with app.create_channel permission can exploit a logic mismatch between existence validation and upsert operations to reassign channel ownership and modify critical production channel configurations.
