NULL Pointer Dereference in REST API properties_parse via Malformed user_properties

In nanomq versions 0.24.11 and earlier, a NULL pointer dereference in `properties_parse()` allows an authenticated attacker to crash the NanoMQ broker by sending a POST request to `/api/v4/mqtt/publish` with `user_properties` as a JSON array instead of a JSON object. The crash occurs because `strlen()` is called on a NULL `item->string` pointer when iterating over array elements. An authenticated attacker can exploit this to crash the NanoMQ broker process. This is patched in version 0.24.14.

nanomq: OOB Read / Crash (DoS) via Malformed MQTT Remaining Length over WebSocket

NanoMQ MQTT Broker (NanoMQ) is an all-around Edge Messaging Platform. Prior to version 0.24.8, NanoMQ’s MQTT-over-WebSocket transport can be crashed by sending an MQTT packet with a deliberately large Remaining Length in the fixed header while providing a much shorter actual payload. The code path copies Remaining Length bytes without verifying that the current receive buffer contains that many bytes, resulting in an out-of-bounds read (ASAN reports OOB / crash). This is remotely triggerable over the WebSocket listener. This issue has been patched in version 0.24.8.

nanomq NULL Pointer Dereference in MQTTv5 Client CONNECT Decoder Leading to Remote DoS

In nanomq versions 0.24.11 and earlier, a NULL pointer dereference in `nni_mqttv5_msg_decode_connect()` allows a malicious MQTT broker to crash any connecting NanoMQ MQTTv5 client (including bridge mode) with a single packet, causing remote denial of service via SIGSEGV. In `nni_mqttv5_msg_decode_connect()` (`mqtt_codec.c:1863`), the code iterates over CONNECT properties using variable `prop` when it should use `will_prop`. When a CONNECT packet has no connect-level properties (`prop == NULL`) but has will properties (`will_prop != NULL`), dereferencing `prop->next` causes SIGSEGV at address `0x38` (NULL + `offsetof(property, next)`). This affects both `nanomq_cli` and **NanoMQ bridge mode** (Core component), as both use the same `mqtt_client.c` receive path. This can lead to remote DoS if a malicious MQTT broker can crash the client process with a single 35-byte packet and persistent DoS if auto-reconnect causes infinite crash loop.

NanoMQ: NULL Pointer Dereference Crash in tcptran_pipe_peer During Session Restore

NanoMQ MQTT Broker (NanoMQ) is an all-around Edge Messaging Platform. In versions 0.24.10 and below, when NanoMQ handles high-concurrency reconnect traffic using a reconnect-collision payload, the broker can crash due to a NULL pointer dereference during MQTT session resumption for clean_start=0 clients. The transport's p_peer callback (tcptran_pipe_peer()) iterates cpipe->subinfol while copying session metadata from the cached old pipe to the new reconnecting pipe, without checking whether the pointer is NULL. Under a reconnect race, cpipe->subinfol can be freed and set to NULL before session restore invokes this function, resulting in a remote unauthenticated Denial-of-Service (process crash) condition. This issue has been fixed in version 0.24.11.

NanoMQ $share/ Subscription Validation and Forwarding Parsing Inconsistency: NULL Pointer Increment Causes Crash

NanoMQ MQTT Broker (NanoMQ) is an all-around Edge Messaging Platform. In version 0.24.6, NanoMQ has a protocol parsing / forwarding inconsistency when handling shared subscriptions ($share/). A malformed SUBSCRIBE topic such as $share/ab (missing the second /) is not strictly validated during the subscription stage, so the invalid Topic Filter is stored into the subscription table. Later, when any PUBLISH matches this subscription, the broker send path (nmq_pipe_send_start_v4/v5) performs a second $share/ parsing using strchr() and increments the returned pointer without NULL checks. If the second strchr() returns NULL, sub_topic++ turns the pointer into an invalid address (e.g. 0x1). This invalid pointer is then passed into topic_filtern(), which triggers strlen() and crashes with SIGSEGV. The crash is stable and remotely triggerable. This issue has been patched in version 0.24.7.

Envoy crashes when JWT authentication is configured with the remote JWKS fetching

Envoy is a high-performance edge/middle/service proxy. In 1.33.12, 1.34.10, 1.35.6, 1.36.2, and earlier, Envoy crashes when JWT authentication is configured with the remote JWKS fetching, allow_missing_or_failed is enabled, multiple JWT tokens are present in the request headers and the JWKS fetch fails. This is caused by a re-entry bug in the JwksFetcherImpl. When the first token's JWKS fetch fails, onJwksError() callback triggers processing of the second token, which calls fetch() again on the same fetcher object. The original callback's reset() then clears the second fetch's state (receiver_ and request_) which causes a crash when the async HTTP response arrives.

Wazuh is a free and open source platform used for threat prevention, detection, and response. A NULL pointer dereference was detected during fuzzing of the analysis engine, allowing malicious clients to DoS the analysis engine. The bug occurs when `analysisd` receives a syscollector message with the `hotfix` `msg_type` but lacking a `timestamp`. It uses `cJSON_GetObjectItem()` to get the `timestamp` object item and dereferences it without checking for a `NULL` value. A malicious client can DoS the analysis engine. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.7.1.

Cisco SPA100 Series Analog Telephone Adapters Web Management Interface Denial of Service Vulnerability

A vulnerability in the web-based management interface of Cisco SPA100 Series Analog Telephone Adapters (ATAs) could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service condition on an affected device. The vulnerability is due to improper validation of user-supplied requests to the web-based management interface. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted request to the web-based management interface of an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause the device to stop responding, requiring manual intervention for recovery.

Post-auth null pointer dereference when aggregating against a view with empty search pipeline

An authenticated user can crash mongod when running $rankFusion or $scoreFusion with an empty pipeline on a view. When resolving a view, the server inspects the aggregation pipeline to determine whether it begins with an Atlas Search stage. For $rankFusion and $scoreFusion, this inspection reads the first element on each stage’s input pipeline array without first verifying that the array is non-empty. Supplying an empty pipeline causes a null pointer dereference and crashes the server. This issue affects MongoDB Server 8.2 versions prior to 8.2.7.
