Improper Authorization (CWE-285) in Kibana can lead to privilege escalation (CAPEC-233) by allowing an authenticated user to change a document's sharing type to "global," even though they do not have permission to do so, making it visible to everyone in the space via a crafted a HTTP request.
Origin Validation Error in Kibana can lead to Server-Side Request Forgery via a forged Origin HTTP header processed by the Observability AI Assistant.
Unrestricted file upload in Kibana allows an authenticated attacker to compromise software integrity by uploading a crafted malicious file due to insufficient server-side validation.
URL redirection to an untrusted site ('Open Redirect') in Kibana can lead to sending a user to an arbitrary site and server-side request forgery via a specially crafted URL.
A server side request forgery vulnerability was identified in Kibana where the /api/fleet/health_check API could be used to send requests to internal endpoints. Due to the nature of the underlying request, only endpoints available over https that return JSON could be accessed. This can be carried out by users with read access to Fleet.
A flaw was discovered in Kibana in which users with Read access to the Uptime feature could modify alerting rules. A user with this privilege would be able to create new alerting rules or overwrite existing ones. However, any new or modified rules would not be enabled, and a user with this privilege could not modify alerting connectors. This effectively means that Read users could disable existing alerting rules.
Improper Authorization (CWE-285) in Kibana can lead to privilege escalation (CAPEC-233) by allowing an authenticated user to bypass intended permission restrictions via a crafted HTTP request. This allows an attacker who lacks the live queries - read permission to successfully retrieve the list of live queries.
Incomplete List of Disallowed Inputs (CWE-184) in Kibana can allow an authenticated attacker with access to the Reporting feature to bypass outbound request restrictions configured by an administrator, causing the reporting service to send requests to network destinations that should be denied by the configured security policy.
Incorrect Authorization (CWE-863) in Elasticsearch can allow an authenticated user with limited index privileges to exploit insufficient authorization controls in the ingest simulation feature. By targeting indices they are not authorized to access directly, the user can cause those indices' configured ingest pipelines to execute and return their output, potentially disclosing data processed or enriched by those pipelines. Additionally, the same feature can be used to retrieve index mapping metadata for indices the user are not authorized to access directly.
Improper Access Control (CWE-284) in Kibana can lead to unauthorized modification of Entity Analytics Watchlist configuration and potential information disclosure. A low-privileged authenticated user with read-only Security Solution access could perform write operations on watchlist data that should require elevated privileges. Under specific deployment conditions, this could also allow such a user to access data beyond their authorized scope.
Incorrect Authorization (CWE-863) in Elastic Defend can lead to unauthorized information disclosure via Accessing Functionality Not Properly Constrained by ACLs (CAPEC-1). Under certain conditions, a low-privileged authenticated user can access response action data that they are not authorized to view.
Unintended Proxy or Intermediary ('Confused Deputy') (CWE-441) in Kibana can lead to unauthorized information exposure via Accessing Functionality Not Properly Constrained by ACLs (CAPEC-1). Under certain conditions, a lower-privileged user can cause data from sources they are not authorized to access to be processed using another user's privileges.
Incorrect Authorization (CWE-863) in Kibana can lead to information disclosure via Privilege Abuse (CAPEC-122). A user with limited Fleet privileges can exploit an internal API endpoint to retrieve sensitive configuration data, including private keys and authentication tokens, that should only be accessible to users with higher-level settings privileges. The endpoint composes its response by fetching full configuration objects and returning them directly, bypassing the authorization checks enforced by the dedicated settings APIs.
Incorrect Authorization (CWE-863) in Kibana can lead to cross-space information disclosure via Privilege Abuse (CAPEC-122). A user with Fleet agent management privileges in one Kibana space can retrieve Fleet Server policy details from other spaces through an internal enrollment endpoint. The endpoint bypasses space-scoped access controls by using an unscoped internal client, returning operational identifiers, policy names, management state, and infrastructure linkage details from spaces the user is not authorized to access.
Improper Authorization in Elastic Cloud Enterprise can lead to Privilege Escalation where the built-in readonly user can call APIs that should not be allowed. The list of APIs that are affected by this issue is: post:/platform/configuration/security/service-accounts delete:/platform/configuration/security/service-accounts/{user_id} patch:/platform/configuration/security/service-accounts/{user_id} post:/platform/configuration/security/service-accounts/{user_id}/keys delete:/platform/configuration/security/service-accounts/{user_id}/keys/{api_key_id} patch:/user post:/users post:/users/auth/keys delete:/users/auth/keys delete:/users/auth/keys/_all delete:/users/auth/keys/{api_key_id} delete:/users/{user_id}/auth/keys delete:/users/{user_id}/auth/keys/{api_key_id} delete:/users/{user_name} patch:/users/{user_name}
Incorrect authorization in Kibana can lead to privilege escalation via the built-in reporting_user role which incorrectly has the ability to access all Kibana Spaces.
Incorrect Authorization issue exists in the API key based security model for Remote Cluster Security, which is currently in Beta, in Elasticsearch 8.10.0 and before 8.13.0. This allows a malicious user with a valid API key for a remote cluster configured to use the new Remote Cluster Security to read arbitrary documents from any index on the remote cluster, and only if they use the Elasticsearch custom transport protocol to issue requests with the target index ID, the shard ID and the document ID. None of Elasticsearch REST API endpoints are affected by this issue.
An issue was discovered where improper authorization controls affected certain queries that could allow a malicious actor to circumvent Document Level Security in Elasticsearch and get access to documents that their roles would normally not allow.
A document disclosure flaw was found in Elasticsearch versions after 7.6.0 and before 7.11.0 when Document or Field Level Security is used. Get requests do not properly apply security permissions when executing a query against a recently updated document. This affects documents that have been updated and not yet refreshed in the index. This could result in the search disclosing the existence of documents and fields the attacker should not be able to view.
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in linlinjava litemall 1.8.0. Affected is an unknown function of the file /wx/comment/post. The manipulation of the argument adminComment leads to improper authorization. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
In “Dolibarr” application, 2.8.1 to 13.0.4 don’t restrict or incorrectly restricts access to a resource from an unauthorized actor. A low privileged attacker can modify the Private Note which only an administrator has rights to do, the affected field is at “/adherents/note.php?id=1” endpoint.
In the Redirection for Contact Form 7 WordPress plugin before 2.3.4, any authenticated user, such as a subscriber, could use the delete_action_post AJAX action to delete any post on a target site.
Improper validation of invited users' email address in GitLab EE affecting all versions since 12.2 allowed projects to add members with email address domain that should be blocked by group settings
By default, the WP Page Builder WordPress plugin before 1.2.4 allows subscriber-level users to edit and make changes to any and all posts pages - user roles must be specifically blocked from editing posts and pages.
Mattermost Plugins versions <=11.5 11.1.5 10.13.11 11.3.4.0 fail to have API-level checks on which groups the user can create issues or attach comments to which allows a user that is member of multiple groups to create issues to a locked group via direct API requests. Mattermost Advisory ID: MMSA-2026-00602

Mattermost Advisory ID: MMSA-2026-00601
SurrealDB versions before 3.2.0 contain a permissions bypass vulnerability where data-modifying statements within PERMISSIONS clauses execute with enforcement disabled. Attackers with permission to perform a guarded operation can write to tables they lack permission for by embedding CREATE, UPDATE, DELETE, or UPSERT statements in the PERMISSIONS clause, causing unintended writes and data corruption.
GitLab has remediated an issue in GitLab EE affecting all versions from 13.9 before 18.10.8, 18.11 before 18.11.5, and 19.0 before 19.0.2 that under certain conditions could have allowed an authenticated user with Security Manager-role permissions to manage project security configuration even when the relevant feature was in a disabled state, due to incorrect authorization enforcement.
Abnormal Security /v1.0/rbac/users_v2/{USER_ID}/ before 2025-02-19 allows downgrading the privileges of other user accounts.
An issue has been discovered in GitLab EE affecting all versions from 18.1 before 18.3.6, 18.4 before 18.4.4, and 18.5 before 18.5.2 that, under certain circumstances, could have allowed an attacker to remove Duo flows of another user.
Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. Prior to 0.10.0, the file upload path accepted metadata.knowledge_id and auto-linked uploaded files to a target knowledge base without applying the write-access check used by /api/v1/knowledge//file/add, allowing read-only knowledge-base users to add arbitrary files. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.
Wekan is open source kanban built with Meteor. Prior to 9.64, Wekan has a cross-board authorization bypass in the direct Meteor collection allow rules for Checklists and ChecklistItems because updates are authorized only against the current source doc.cardId and do not inspect the destination cardId or boardId in the update modifier, allowing a low-privileged authenticated user with write access to one board and knowledge of a target private card id to create checklist data on an accessible card and move it into a private board where they are not a member. This issue is fixed in version 9.64.
GitLab has remediated an issue in GitLab CE/EE affecting all versions from 17.11 before 18.11.6, 19.0 before 19.0.3, and 19.1 before 19.1.1 that under certain conditions could have allowed an authenticated user with developer-role permissions to bypass package protection rules and overwrite protected Maven package metadata due to incorrect authorization checks.
A vulnerability in the scheduled meeting template feature of Cisco Webex Meetings could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to delete a scheduled meeting template that belongs to another user in their organization. The vulnerability is due to insufficient authorization enforcement for requests to delete scheduled meeting templates. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted request to the Webex Meetings interface to delete a scheduled meeting template. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to delete a scheduled meeting template that belongs to a user other than themselves.
A vulnerability in the scheduled meeting template feature of Cisco Webex Meetings could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to create a scheduled meeting template that would belong to another user in their organization. The vulnerability is due to insufficient authorization enforcement for the creation of scheduled meeting templates. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted request to the Webex Meetings interface to create a scheduled meeting template. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to create a scheduled meeting template that would belong to a user other than themselves.
Mattermost versions 10.5.x <= 10.5.5, 9.11.x <= 9.11.15, 10.8.x <= 10.8.0, 10.7.x <= 10.7.2, 10.6.x <= 10.6.5 fail to properly validate channel membership when retrieving playbook run metadata, allowing authenticated users who are playbook members but not channel members to access sensitive information about linked private channels including channel name, display name, and participant count through the run metadata API endpoint.
The Folderly plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized modification of data due to an insufficient capability check on the /wp-json/folderly/v1/config/clear-all-data REST API endpoint in all versions up to, and including, 0.3. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Author-level access and above, to clear all data like terms and categories.
Snipe-IT is an IT asset/license management system. Prior to 8.6.2, the legacy single-seat license checkin flow authorizes the action with the checkout permission instead of the checkin permission, allowing a user who can assign licenses but not unassign them to directly access the old checkin endpoint and reclaim a license seat assigned to another user or asset. This issue is fixed in version 8.6.2.
SAP S/4HANA (Manage Processing Rules - For Bank Statements) allows an authenticated attacker with basic privileges to delete conditions from any shared rule of any user by tampering the request parameter. Due to missing authorization check, the attacker can delete shared rule conditions that should be restricted, compromising the integrity of the application without affecting its confidentiality or availability.
A missing permission check in Jenkins Mac Plugin 1.1.0 and earlier allows attackers with Overall/Read permission to connect to an attacker-specified SSH server using attacker-specified credentials.
The MultiVendorX – WooCommerce Multivendor Marketplace Solutions plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized loss of data due to a misconfigured capability check on the 'delete_fpm_product' function in all versions up to, and including, 4.2.22. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to delete arbitrary posts, pages, attachments, and products. The vulnerability was partially patched in version 4.2.22.
Jenkins 2.218 and earlier, LTS 2.204.1 and earlier allowed users with Overall/Read access to view a JVM memory usage chart.
The Poll, Survey & Quiz Maker Plugin by Opinion Stage plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized modification of data due to a misconfigured capability check on several functions in all versions up to, and including, 19.9.0. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to change the email address for the account connection, and disconnect the plugin. Previously created content will still be displayed and functional if the account is disconnected.
A vulnerability was discovered in GitLab versions before 13.1.10, 13.2.8 and 13.3.4. An unauthorized project maintainer could edit the subgroup badges due to the lack of authorization control.
Improper group membership validation when deleting a user account in GitLab >=7.12 allows a user to delete own account without deleting/transferring their group.
Traccar is an open source GPS tracking system. Prior to 6.13.0, DeviceResource.uploadImage authorizes the target device only through Condition.Permission(User.class, getUserId(), Device.class) and then immediately streams the uploaded body into mediaManager.createFileStream(...). Unlike the generic mutation path in BaseObjectResource.update and the explicit device mutation handler updateAccumulators, this route never invokes permissionsService.checkEdit(getUserId(), Device.class, false, false). The skipped guard is exactly where Traccar enforces readonly and deviceReadonly restrictions for non-admin users. An unauthorized user can replace a device’s stored image file under the server media directory. This allows modification of UI-visible device media and any downstream workflows that rely on the persisted image, despite other device update paths correctly rejecting the same identity. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.13.0.
Mattermost versions 10.6.x <= 10.6.1, 10.5.x <= 10.5.2, 10.4.x <= 10.4.4, 9.11.x <= 9.11.11 fail to check the correct permissions which allows authenticated users who only have permission to invite non-guest users to a team to add guest users to that team via the API to add a single user to a team.
A flaw was found in Moodle. Additional checks were required to prevent users from deleting course sections they did not have permission to modify.
Mattermost versions 11.5.x <= 11.5.1 fail to validate team-level run_create permission against the target team when creating a playbook run which allows an authenticated team member to create runs in teams where they lack permission via specifying a different team ID in the run creation API request. Mattermost Advisory ID: MMSA-2026-00629
A vulnerability has been identified in SINEMA Remote Connect Server (All versions < V3.2 SP4). Affected applications do not properly validate license restrictions against the database, allowing direct modification of the system_ticketinfo table to bypass license limitations without proper enforcement checks. This could allow with database access to circumvent licensing restrictions by directly modifying database values and potentially enabling unauthorized use beyond the permitted scope.
