Junos OS: EX4600 Series and QFX5000 Series: An attacker with physical access can open a persistent backdoor

An Origin Validation Error vulnerability in an insufficient protected file of Juniper Networks Junos OS on EX4600 Series and QFX5000 Series allows an unauthenticated attacker with physical access to the device to create a backdoor which allows complete control of the system. When a device isn't configured with a root password, an attacker can modify a specific file. It's contents will be added to the Junos configuration of the device without being visible. This allows for the addition of any configuration unknown to the actual operator, which includes users, IP addresses and other configuration which could allow unauthorized access to the device. This exploit is persistent across reboots and even zeroization. The indicator of compromise is a modified /etc/config/<platform>-defaults[-flex].conf file. Review that file for unexpected configuration statements, or compare it to an unmodified version which can be extracted from the original Juniper software image file. For details on the extraction procedure please contact Juniper Technical Assistance Center (JTAC). To restore the device to a trusted initial configuration the system needs to be reinstalled from physical media.  This issue affects Junos OS on EX4600 Series and QFX5000 Series: * All versions before 21.4R3, * 22.2 versions before 22.2R3-S3.

Junos OS: EX2300, EX3400, EX4000 Series, QFX5k Series: Receipt of a specific DHCP packet causes FPC crash when DHCP Option 82 is enabled

A Heap-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability in the flexible PIC concentrator (FPC) of Juniper Networks Junos OS on EX2300, EX3400, EX4100, EX4300, EX4300MP, EX4400, EX4600, EX4650-48Y, and QFX5k Series allows an attacker to send a specific DHCP packet to the device, leading to an FPC crash and restart, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS). Continued receipt and processing of this packet will create a sustained Denial of Service (DoS) condition. Under a rare timing scenario outside the attacker's control, memory corruption may be observed when DHCP Option 82 is enabled, leading to an FPC crash and affecting packet forwarding. Due to the nature of the heap-based overflow, exploitation of this vulnerability could also lead to remote code execution within the FPC, resulting in complete control of the vulnerable component. This issue affects Junos OS on EX2300, EX3400, EX4100, EX4300, EX4300MP, EX4400, EX4600, EX4650-48Y, and QFX5k Series: * All versions before 21.4R3-S9,  * from 22.2 before 22.2R3-S5,  * from 22.4 before 22.4R3-S5,  * from 23.2 before 23.2R2-S3,  * from 23.4 before 23.4R2-S3,  * from 24.2 before 24.2R2.

Junos OS Evolved: QFX5000 Series: Configured MAC learning and move limits are not in effect

An Unimplemented or Unsupported Feature in UI vulnerability in the CLI of Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved on QFX5000 Series allows an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker to cause a Denial-of-Service (DoS). Several configuration statements meant to enforce limits on MAC learning and moves can be configured but do not take effect. This can lead to control plane overload situations which will severely impact the ability of the device to processes legitimate traffic. This issue affects Junos OS Evolved on QFX5000 Series: * All versions before 21.4R3-S8-EVO, * 22.2-EVO versions before 22.2R3-S5-EVO, * 22.4-EVO versions before 22.4R3-EVO, * 23.2-EVO versions before 23.2R2-EVO.

Junos OS: SRX Series, QFX Series, MX Series and EX Series: Receiving specific HTTPS traffic causes resource exhaustion

An Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability in the http daemon (httpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS on SRX Series, QFX Series, MX Series and EX Series allows an unauthenticated, network-based attacker to cause Denial-of-Service (DoS). An attacker can send specific HTTPS connection requests to the device, triggering the creation of processes that are not properly terminated. Over time, this leads to resource exhaustion, ultimately causing the device to crash and restart. The following command can be used to monitor the resource usage: user@host> show system processes extensive | match mgd | count This issue affects Junos OS on SRX Series and EX Series: All versions before 21.4R3-S7, from 22.2 before 22.2R3-S4, from 22.3 before 22.3R3-S3, from 22.4 before 22.4R3-S2, from 23.2 before 23.2R2-S1, from 23.4 before 23.4R1-S2, 23.4R2.

Junos OS: QFX5000 Series and EX4600 Series: Output firewall filter is not applied if certain match criteria are used

An Unimplemented or Unsupported Feature in the UI vulnerability in Juniper Networks Junos OS on QFX5000 Series and EX4600 Series allows an unauthenticated, network-based attacker to cause a minor integrity impact to downstream networks. If one or more of the following match conditions ip-source-address ip-destination-address arp-type which are not supported for this type of filter, are used in an ethernet switching filter, and then this filter is applied as an output filter, the configuration can be committed but the filter will not be in effect. This issue affects Junos OS on QFX5000 Series and EX4600 Series: * All version before 21.2R3-S7,  * 21.4 versions before 21.4R3-S6, * 22.1 versions before 22.1R3-S5, * 22.2 versions before 22.2R3-S3, * 22.3 versions before 22.3R3-S2,  * 22.4 versions before 22.4R3, * 23.2 versions before 23.2R2. Please note that the implemented fix ensures these unsupported match conditions cannot be committed anymore.

Junos OS: QFX5000 Series and EX Series: Specific malformed LACP packets will cause flaps

An Improper Isolation or Compartmentalization vulnerability in the Packet Forwarding Engine (pfe) of Juniper Networks Junos OS on QFX5000 Series and EX Series allows an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS). If a specific malformed LACP packet is received by a QFX5000 Series, or an EX4400, EX4100 or EX4650 Series device, an LACP flap will occur resulting in traffic loss. This issue affects Junos OS on QFX5000 Series, and on EX4400, EX4100 or EX4650 Series: * 20.4 versions from 20.4R3-S4 before 20.4R3-S8, * 21.2 versions from 21.2R3-S2 before 21.2R3-S6, * 21.4 versions from 21.4R2 before 21.4R3-S4, * 22.1 versions from 22.1R2 before 22.1R3-S3, * 22.2 versions before 22.2R3-S1, * 22.3 versions before 22.3R2-S2, 22.3R3, * 22.4 versions before 22.4R2-S1, 22.4R3.
