RubyGems version 2.6.12 and earlier fails to validate specification names, allowing a maliciously crafted gem to potentially overwrite any file on the filesystem.
call is an HTTP router that is primarily used by the hapi framework. There exists a bug in call versions 2.0.1-3.0.1 that does not validate empty parameters, which could result in invalid input bypassing the route validation rules.
Improper input validator in Nextcloud Server prior to 12.0.3 and 11.0.5 could lead to an attacker's actions not being logged in the audit log.
Due to a bug in the the default sign in functionality in the keystone node module before 0.3.16, incomplete email addresses could be matched. A correct password is still required to complete sign in.
A prototype pollution vulnerability was found in module mpath <0.5.1 that allows an attacker to inject arbitrary properties onto Object.prototype.
secure-compare 3.0.0 and below do not actually compare two strings properly. compare was actually comparing the first argument with itself, meaning the check passed for any two strings of the same length.
Improper authorization in aedes version <0.35.0 will publish a LWT in a channel when a client is not authorized.
The static-eval module is intended to evaluate statically-analyzable expressions. In affected versions, untrusted user input is able to access the global function constructor, effectively allowing arbitrary code execution.
The parsejson module is vulnerable to regular expression denial of service when untrusted user input is passed into it to be parsed.
Request is an http client. If a request is made using ```multipart```, and the body type is a ```number```, then the specified number of non-zero memory is passed in the body. This affects Request >=2.2.6 <2.47.0 || >2.51.0 <=2.67.0.
Decamelize is used to convert a dash/dot/underscore/space separated string to camelCase. Decamelize 1.1.0 through 1.1.1 uses regular expressions to evaluate a string and takes unescaped separator values, which can be used to create a denial of service attack.
hapi is a web and services application framework. When hapi >= 15.0.0 <= 16.1.0 encounters a malformed `accept-encoding` header an uncaught exception is thrown. This may cause hapi to crash or to hang the client connection until the timeout period is reached.
Denial of Service attack in airMAX < 8.3.2 , airMAX < 6.0.7 and EdgeMAX < 1.9.7 allow attackers to use the Discovery Protocol in amplification attacks.
Since "algorithm" isn't enforced in jwt.decode()in jwt-simple 0.3.0 and earlier, a malicious user could choose what algorithm is sent sent to the server. If the server is expecting RSA but is sent HMAC-SHA with RSA's public key, the server will think the public key is actually an HMAC private key. This could be used to forge any data an attacker wants.
ansi2html is vulnerable to regular expression denial of service (ReDoS) when certain types of user input is passed in.
mixin-deep node module before 1.3.1 suffers from a Modification of Assumed-Immutable Data (MAID) vulnerability, which allows a malicious user to modify the prototype of "Object" via __proto__, causing the addition or modification of an existing property that will exist on all objects.
jshamcrest is vulnerable to regular expression denial of service (ReDoS) when certain types of user input is passed in to the emailAddress validator.
Minimatch is a minimal matching utility that works by converting glob expressions into JavaScript `RegExp` objects. The primary function, `minimatch(path, pattern)` in Minimatch 3.0.1 and earlier is vulnerable to ReDoS in the `pattern` parameter.
jadedown is vulnerable to regular expression denial of service (ReDoS) when certain types of user input is passed in.
ws is a "simple to use, blazing fast and thoroughly tested websocket client, server and console for node.js, up-to-date against RFC-6455". By sending an overly long websocket payload to a `ws` server, it is possible to crash the node process. This affects ws 1.1.0 and earlier.
negotiator is an HTTP content negotiator for Node.js and is used by many modules and frameworks including Express and Koa. The header for "Accept-Language", when parsed by negotiator 0.6.0 and earlier is vulnerable to Regular Expression Denial of Service via a specially crafted string.
uws is a WebSocket server library. By sending a 256mb websocket message to a uws server instance with permessage-deflate enabled, there is a possibility used compression will shrink said 256mb down to less than 16mb of websocket payload which passes the length check of 16mb payload. This data will then inflate up to 256mb and crash the node process by exceeding V8's maximum string size. This affects uws >=0.10.0 <=0.10.8.
Certain input strings when passed to new Date() or Date.parse() in ecstatic node module before 1.4.0 will cause v8 to raise an exception. This leads to a crash and denial of service in ecstatic when this input is passed into the server via the If-Modified-Since header.
In jsonwebtoken node module before 4.2.2 it is possible for an attacker to bypass verification when a token digitally signed with an asymmetric key (RS/ES family) of algorithms but instead the attacker send a token digitally signed with a symmetric algorithm (HS* family).
defaults-deep node module before 0.2.4 suffers from a Modification of Assumed-Immutable Data (MAID) vulnerability, which allows a malicious user to modify the prototype of "Object" via __proto__, causing the addition or modification of an existing property that will exist on all objects.
The merge.recursive function in the merge package <1.2.1 can be tricked into adding or modifying properties of the Object prototype. These properties will be present on all objects allowing for a denial of service attack.
This vulnerability allows local attackers to escalate privileges on vulnerable installations of Joyent SmartOS release-20170803-20170803T064301Z. An attacker must first obtain the ability to execute low-privileged code on the target system in order to exploit this vulnerability. The specific flaw exists within the SMBIOC_TREE_RELE ioctl. The issue results from the lack of validating the existence of an object prior to performing operations on the object. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code under the context of the host OS. Was ZDI-CAN-4984.
Certain input passed into the If-Modified-Since or Last-Modified headers will cause an 'illegal access' exception to be raised. Instead of sending a HTTP 500 error back to the sender, hapi node module before 11.1.3 will continue to hold the socket open until timed out (default node timeout is 2 minutes).
The (1) get and (2) log methods in the AgentController in Red Hat CloudForms 3.0 Management Engine (CFME) 5.x allow remote attackers to insert arbitrary text into log files via unspecified vectors.
cPanel before 62.0.17 allows does not preserve security policy questions across an account rename (SEC-223).
HashiCorp Consul and Consul Enterprise did not appropriately enforce scope for local tokens issued by a primary data center, where replication to a secondary data center was not enabled. Introduced in 1.4.0, fixed in 1.6.6 and 1.7.4.
libseccomp-golang 0.9.0 and earlier incorrectly generates BPFs that OR multiple arguments rather than ANDing them. A process running under a restrictive seccomp filter that specified multiple syscall arguments could bypass intended access restrictions by specifying a single matching argument.
An issue was discovered in Aviatrix Controller through 5.1. An attacker with any signed SAML assertion from the Identity Provider can establish a connection (even if that SAML assertion has expired or is from a user who is not authorized to access Aviatrix), aka XML Signature Wrapping.
The scp client in OpenSSH 8.2 incorrectly sends duplicate responses to the server upon a utimes system call failure, which allows a malicious unprivileged user on the remote server to overwrite arbitrary files in the client's download directory by creating a crafted subdirectory anywhere on the remote server. The victim must use the command scp -rp to download a file hierarchy containing, anywhere inside, this crafted subdirectory. NOTE: the vendor points out that "this attack can achieve no more than a hostile peer is already able to achieve within the scp protocol" and "utimes does not fail under normal circumstances.
In OASIS Digital Signature Services (DSS) 1.0, an attacker can control the validation outcome (i.e., trigger either a valid or invalid outcome for a valid or invalid signature) via a crafted XML signature, when the InlineXML option is used. This defeats the expectation of non-repudiation.
Hyperledger Indy Node is the server portion of a distributed ledger purpose-built for decentralized identity. In Hyperledger Indy before version 1.12.4, there is lack of signature verification on a specific transaction which enables an attacker to make certain unauthorized alterations to the ledger. Updating a DID with a nym transaction will be written to the ledger if neither ROLE or VERKEY are being changed, regardless of sender. A malicious DID with no particular role can ask an update for another DID (but cannot modify its verkey or role). This is bad because 1) Any DID can write a nym transaction to the ledger (i.e., any DID can spam the ledger with nym transactions), 2) Any DID can change any other DID's alias, 3) The update transaction modifies the ledger metadata associated with a DID.
An issue was discovered in Joomla! before 3.9.17. Improper input validations in the usergroup table class could lead to a broken ACL configuration.
A flaw was found in Hibernate Validator version 6.1.2.Final. A bug in the message interpolation processor enables invalid EL expressions to be evaluated as if they were valid. This flaw allows attackers to bypass input sanitation (escaping, stripping) controls that developers may have put in place when handling user-controlled data in error messages.
The JSON gem through 2.2.0 for Ruby, as used in Ruby 2.4 through 2.4.9, 2.5 through 2.5.7, and 2.6 through 2.6.5, has an Unsafe Object Creation Vulnerability. This is quite similar to CVE-2013-0269, but does not rely on poor garbage-collection behavior within Ruby. Specifically, use of JSON parsing methods can lead to creation of a malicious object within the interpreter, with adverse effects that are application-dependent.
cPanel before 64.0.21 allows demo and suspended accounts to use SSH port forwarding (SEC-247).
Firefox will accept any registered Program ID as an external protocol handler and offer to launch this local application when given a matching URL on Windows operating systems. This should only happen if the program has specifically registered itself as a "URL Handler" in the Windows registry. *Note: This issue only affects Windows operating systems. Other operating systems are unaffected.*. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird < 60.6, Firefox ESR < 60.6, and Firefox < 66.
ios/CDVFileTransfer.m in the Apache Cordova File-Transfer standalone plugin (org.apache.cordova.file-transfer) before 0.4.2 for iOS and the File-Transfer plugin for iOS from Cordova 2.4.0 through 2.9.0 might allow remote attackers to spoof SSL servers by leveraging a default value of true for the trustAllHosts option.
The installUpdates function in yum-cron/yum-cron.py in yum 3.4.3 and earlier does not properly check the return value of the sigCheckPkg function, which allows remote attackers to bypass the RMP package signing restriction via an unsigned package.
Improper input validation vulnerability in header parsing of Apache Traffic Server allows an attacker to smuggle requests. This issue affects Apache Traffic Server 8.0.0 to 8.1.2 and 9.0.0 to 9.0.1.
Improper Verification of a Cryptographic Signature in OpenPGP.js <=4.1.2 allows an attacker to pass off unsigned data as signed.
Improper Verification of a Cryptographic Signature in OpenPGP.js <=4.1.2 allows an attacker to forge signed messages by replacing its signatures with a "standalone" or "timestamp" signature.
A logic issue was addressed with improved validation. This issue is fixed in macOS Mojave 10.14.5, Security Update 2019-003 High Sierra, Security Update 2019-003 Sierra. A sandboxed process may be able to circumvent sandbox restrictions.
An issue was discovered on Samsung mobile devices with N(7.0) (Qualcomm chipsets) software. There is an RKP kernel protection bypass (in which unwanted memory mappings may occur) because of a lack of MSR trapping. The Samsung ID is SVE-2016-7901 (April 2017).
cPanel before 64.0.21 allows demo accounts to execute SSH API commands (SEC-248).
The invite-anyone plugin before 1.3.16 for WordPress has incorrect escaping of untrusted Dashboard and front-end input.
