A vulnerability in the OSPF Version 2 (OSPFv2) implementation of Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) Software and Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause an affected device to reload, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition. The vulnerability is due to incomplete input validation when the affected software processes certain OSPFv2 packets with Link-Local Signaling (LLS) data. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a malformed OSPFv2 packet to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to cause an affected device to reload, resulting in a DoS condition.
A vulnerability in the packet processing functionality of Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on an affected device. The vulnerability is due to inefficient memory management. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a high rate of IPv4 or IPv6 traffic through an affected device. This traffic would need to match a configured block action in an access control policy. An exploit could allow the attacker to cause a memory exhaustion condition on the affected device, which would result in a DoS for traffic transiting the device, as well as sluggish performance of the management interface. Once the flood is stopped, performance should return to previous states.
kittoframework kitto version 0.5.1 is vulnerable to memory exhaustion in the router resulting in DoS
Denial of Service attack when the switch rejects to receive packets from the controller. Component: This vulnerability affects OpenDaylight odl-l2switch-switch, which is the feature responsible for the OpenFlow communication. Version: OpenDaylight versions 3.3 (Lithium-SR3), 3.4 (Lithium-SR4), 4.0 (Beryllium), 4.1 (Beryllium-SR1), 4.2 (Beryllium-SR2), and 4.4 (Beryllium-SR4) are affected by this flaw. Java version is openjdk version 1.8.0_91.
Undertow in Red Hat wildfly before version 11.0.0.Beta1 is vulnerable to a resource exhaustion resulting in a denial of service. Undertow keeps a cache of seen HTTP headers in persistent connections. It was found that this cache can easily exploited to fill memory with garbage, up to "max-headers" (default 200) * "max-header-size" (default 1MB) per active TCP connection.
A denial of service flaw was found in OpenSSL 0.9.8, 1.0.1, 1.0.2 through 1.0.2h, and 1.1.0 in the way the TLS/SSL protocol defined processing of ALERT packets during a connection handshake. A remote attacker could use this flaw to make a TLS/SSL server consume an excessive amount of CPU and fail to accept connections from other clients.
An issue was discovered in Schneider Electric Magelis HMI Magelis GTO Advanced Optimum Panels, all versions, Magelis GTU Universal Panel, all versions, Magelis STO5xx and STU Small panels, all versions, Magelis XBT GH Advanced Hand-held Panels, all versions, Magelis XBT GK Advanced Touchscreen Panels with Keyboard, all versions, Magelis XBT GT Advanced Touchscreen Panels, all versions, and Magelis XBT GTW Advanced Open Touchscreen Panels (Windows XPe). An attacker can open multiple connections to a targeted web server and keep connections open preventing new connections from being made, rendering the web server unavailable during an attack.
An issue has been found in PowerDNS Authoritative Server before 3.4.11 and 4.0.2 allowing a remote, unauthenticated attacker to cause a denial of service by opening a large number of TCP connections to the web server. If the web server runs out of file descriptors, it triggers an exception and terminates the whole PowerDNS process. While it's more complicated for an unauthorized attacker to make the web server run out of file descriptors since its connection will be closed just after being accepted, it might still be possible.
A Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability exists in the brycedrennan/imaginairy repository, version 15.0.0. The vulnerability is present in the `/api/stablestudio/generate` endpoint, which can be exploited by sending an invalid request. This causes the server process to terminate abruptly, outputting `KILLED` in the terminal, and results in the unavailability of the server. This issue disrupts the server's functionality, affecting all users.
Knot DNS before 2.3.0 allows remote DNS servers to cause a denial of service (memory exhaustion and slave server crash) via a large zone transfer for (1) DDNS, (2) AXFR, or (3) IXFR.
Realchar version v0.0.4 is vulnerable to an unauthenticated denial of service (DoS) attack. The vulnerability exists in the file upload request handling, where appending characters, such as dashes (-), to the end of a multipart boundary in an HTTP request causes the server to continuously process each character. This leads to excessive resource consumption and renders the service unavailable. The issue is unauthenticated and does not require any user interaction, impacting all users of the service.
A flaw was found in JBossWeb in versions before 7.5.31.Final-redhat-3. The fix for CVE-2020-13935 was incomplete in JBossWeb, leaving it vulnerable to a denial of service attack when sending multiple requests with invalid payload length in a WebSocket frame. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to system availability.
The __decode_dotted function in libc/inet/resolv.c in uClibc-ng before 1.0.12 allows remote DNS servers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop) via vectors involving compressed items in a reply.
Play Framework is a web framework for Java and Scala. A denial of service vulnerability has been discovered in verions 2.8.3 through 2.8.15 of Play's forms library, in both the Scala and Java APIs. This can occur when using either the `Form#bindFromRequest` method on a JSON request body or the `Form#bind` method directly on a JSON value. If the JSON data being bound to the form contains a deeply-nested JSON object or array, the form binding implementation may consume all available heap space and cause an `OutOfMemoryError`. If executing on the default dispatcher and `akka.jvm-exit-on-fatal-error` is enabled—as it is by default—then this can crash the application process. `Form.bindFromRequest` is vulnerable when using any body parser that produces a type of `AnyContent` or `JsValue` in Scala, or one that can produce a `JsonNode` in Java. This includes Play's default body parser. This vulnerability been patched in version 2.8.16. There is now a global limit on the depth of a JSON object that can be parsed, which can be configured by the user if necessary. As a workaround, applications that do not need to parse a request body of type `application/json` can switch from the default body parser to another body parser that supports only the specific type of body they expect.
NLTK (Natural Language Toolkit) is a suite of open source Python modules, data sets, and tutorials supporting research and development in Natural Language Processing. Versions prior to 3.6.5 are vulnerable to regular expression denial of service (ReDoS) attacks. The vulnerability is present in PunktSentenceTokenizer, sent_tokenize and word_tokenize. Any users of this class, or these two functions, are vulnerable to the ReDoS attack. In short, a specifically crafted long input to any of these vulnerable functions will cause them to take a significant amount of execution time. If your program relies on any of the vulnerable functions for tokenizing unpredictable user input, then we would strongly recommend upgrading to a version of NLTK without the vulnerability. For users unable to upgrade the execution time can be bounded by limiting the maximum length of an input to any of the vulnerable functions. Our recommendation is to implement such a limit.
In version v0.3.32 of open-webui/open-webui, the application allows users to submit large payloads in the email and password fields during the sign-in process due to the lack of character length validation on these inputs. This vulnerability can lead to a Denial of Service (DoS) condition when a user submits excessively large strings, exhausting server resources such as CPU, memory, and disk space, and rendering the service unavailable for legitimate users. This makes the server susceptible to resource exhaustion attacks without requiring authentication.
net/http in Go before 1.16.12 and 1.17.x before 1.17.5 allows uncontrolled memory consumption in the header canonicalization cache via HTTP/2 requests.
Bitcoin Core before v0.13.0 allows denial of service (memory exhaustion) triggered by the remote network alert system (deprecated since Q1 2016) if an attacker can sign a message with a certain private key that had been known by unintended actors, because of an infinitely sized map. This affects other uses of the codebase, such as Bitcoin Knots before v0.13.0.knots20160814 and many altcoins.
A vulnerability in aimhubio/aim version 3.25.0 allows for a denial of service (DoS) attack. The issue arises when a large number of tracked metrics are retrieved simultaneously from the Aim web API, causing the web server to become unresponsive. The root cause is the lack of a limit on the number of metrics that can be requested per call, combined with the server's single-threaded nature, leading to excessive resource consumption and blocking of the server.
A Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability was discovered in the file upload feature of netease-youdao/qanything version v2.0.0. The vulnerability is due to improper handling of form-data with a large filename in the file upload request. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a large filename, causing the server to become overwhelmed and unavailable for legitimate users. This attack does not require authentication, making it highly scalable and increasing the risk of exploitation.
A Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability exists in the file upload feature of imartinez/privategpt version v0.6.2. The vulnerability is due to improper handling of form-data with a large filename in the file upload request. An attacker can exploit this by sending a payload with an excessively large filename, causing the server to become overwhelmed and unavailable to legitimate users.
GitLab through 12.9 is affected by a potential DoS in repository archive download.
GJSON before 1.9.3 allows a ReDoS (regular expression denial of service) attack.
A Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability exists in the file upload feature of haotian-liu/llava, specifically in Release v1.2.0 (LLaVA-1.6). The vulnerability is due to improper handling of form-data with a large filename in the file upload request. By sending a payload with an excessively large filename, the server becomes overwhelmed and unresponsive, leading to unavailability for legitimate users. This issue can be exploited without authentication, making it highly scalable and increasing the risk of exploitation.

A Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability exists in the file upload feature of lm-sys/fastchat version 0.2.36. The vulnerability is due to improper handling of form-data with a large filename in the file upload request. An attacker can exploit this by sending a payload with an excessively large filename, causing the server to become overwhelmed and unavailable to legitimate users.
The resolver in nginx before 1.8.1 and 1.9.x before 1.9.10 does not properly limit CNAME resolution, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (worker process resource consumption) via vectors related to arbitrary name resolution.
In lm-sys/fastchat Release v0.2.36, the server fails to handle excessive characters appended to the end of multipart boundaries. This flaw can be exploited by sending malformed multipart requests with arbitrary characters at the end of the boundary. Each extra character is processed in an infinite loop, leading to excessive resource consumption and a complete denial of service (DoS) for all users. The vulnerability is unauthenticated, meaning no user login or interaction is required for an attacker to exploit this issue.
A vulnerability in danny-avila/librechat version git a1647d7 allows an unauthenticated attacker to cause a denial of service by sending a crafted payload to the server. The middleware `checkBan` is not surrounded by a try-catch block, and an unhandled exception will cause the server to crash. This issue is fixed in version 0.7.6.
A Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability in the multipart request boundary processing mechanism of eosphoros-ai/db-gpt v0.6.0 allows unauthenticated attackers to cause excessive resource consumption. The server fails to handle excessive characters appended to the end of multipart boundaries, leading to an infinite loop and complete denial of service for all users. This vulnerability affects all endpoints processing multipart/form-data requests.
A vulnerability in binary-husky/gpt_academic version 3.83 allows an attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by adding excessive characters to the end of a multipart boundary during file upload. This results in the server continuously processing each character and displaying warnings, rendering the application inaccessible. The issue occurs when the terminal shows a warning: 'multipart.multipart Consuming a byte '0x2d' in end state'.
An unauthenticated Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability was identified in ChuanhuChatGPT version 20240918, which could be exploited by sending large data payloads using a multipart boundary. Although a patch was applied for CVE-2024-7807, the issue can still be exploited by sending data in groups with 10 characters in a line, with multiple lines. This can cause the system to continuously process these characters, resulting in prolonged unavailability of the service. The exploitation now requires low privilege if authentication is enabled due to a version upgrade in Gradio.
An issue was discovered in Mattermost Server before 1.2.0. It allows attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via a small compressed file that has a large size when uncompressed.
Argo Events is an event-driven workflow automation framework for Kubernetes. Prior to version 1.7.1, several `HandleRoute` endpoints make use of the deprecated `ioutil.ReadAll()`. `ioutil.ReadAll()` reads all the data into memory. As such, an attacker who sends a large request to the Argo Events server will be able to crash it and cause denial of service. A patch for this vulnerability has been released in Argo Events version 1.7.1.
Fluentd collects events from various data sources and writes them to files to help unify logging infrastructure. The parser_apache2 plugin in Fluentd v0.14.14 to v1.14.1 suffers from a regular expression denial of service (ReDoS) vulnerability. A broken apache log with a certain pattern of string can spend too much time in a regular expression, resulting in the potential for a DoS attack. This issue is patched in version 1.14.2 There are two workarounds available. Either don't use parser_apache2 for parsing logs (which cannot guarantee generated by Apache), or put patched version of parser_apache2.rb into /etc/fluent/plugin directory (or any other directories specified by the environment variable `FLUENT_PLUGIN` or `--plugin` option of fluentd).
A uncontrolled resource consumption in Fortinet FortiWeb version 6.4.1 and below, 6.3.15 and below allows an unauthenticated attacker to make the httpsd daemon unresponsive via huge HTTP packets
Sandstorm Cap'n Proto before 0.4.1.1 and 0.5.x before 0.5.1.2, when an application invokes the totalSize method on an object reader, allows remote peers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) via a crafted small message, which triggers a "tight" for loop. NOTE: this vulnerability exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2015-2312.
A Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) vulnerability exists in the gradio-app/gradio repository, affecting the gr.Datetime component. The affected version is git commit 98cbcae. The vulnerability arises from the use of a regular expression `^(?:\s*now\s*(?:-\s*(\d+)\s*([dmhs]))?)?\s*$` to process user input. In Python's default regex engine, this regular expression can take polynomial time to match certain crafted inputs. An attacker can exploit this by sending a crafted HTTP request, causing the gradio process to consume 100% CPU and potentially leading to a Denial of Service (DoS) condition on the server.
modern-async is an open source JavaScript tooling library for asynchronous operations using async/await and promises. In affected versions a bug affecting two of the functions in this library: forEachSeries and forEachLimit. They should limit the concurrency of some actions but, in practice, they don't. Any code calling these functions will be written thinking they would limit the concurrency but they won't. This could lead to potential security issues in other projects. The problem has been patched in 1.0.4. There is no workaround.
The DynamicPageList3 extension is a reporting tool for MediaWiki, listing category members and intersections with various formats and details. In affected versions unsanitised input of regular expression date within the parameters of the DPL parser function, allowed for the possibility of ReDoS (Regex Denial of Service). This has been resolved in version 3.3.6. If you are unable to update you may also set `$wgDplSettings['functionalRichness'] = 0;` or disable DynamicPageList3 to mitigate.
In CODESYS Gateway Server V2 an insufficient check for the activity of TCP client connections allows an unauthenticated attacker to consume all available TCP connections and prevent legitimate users or clients from establishing a new connection to the CODESYS Gateway Server V2. Existing connections are not affected and therefore remain intact.
FreeSWITCH is a Software Defined Telecom Stack enabling the digital transformation from proprietary telecom switches to a software implementation that runs on any commodity hardware. FreeSWITCH prior to version 1.10.7 is susceptible to Denial of Service via SIP flooding. When flooding FreeSWITCH with SIP messages, it was observed that after a number of seconds the process was killed by the operating system due to memory exhaustion. By abusing this vulnerability, an attacker is able to crash any FreeSWITCH instance by flooding it with SIP messages, leading to Denial of Service. The attack does not require authentication and can be carried out over UDP, TCP or TLS. This issue was patched in version 1.10.7.
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Tongda OA 2017 up to 11.7. This issue affects some unknown processing of the file /inc/package_static_resources.php. The manipulation leads to resource consumption. The attack may be initiated remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used.
NTP before 4.2.8p6 and 4.3.0 before 4.3.90 allows a remote attackers to cause a denial of service (stack exhaustion) via an ntpdc relist command, which triggers recursive traversal of the restriction list.
A vulnerability was found in RESTEasy, where RootNode incorrectly caches routes. This issue results in hash flooding, leading to slower requests with higher CPU time spent searching and adding the entry. This flaw allows an attacker to cause a denial of service.
In CmpBlkDrvTcp of CODESYS V3 in multiple versions an uncontrolled ressource consumption allows an unauthorized attacker to block new TCP connections. Existing connections are not affected.
RSSHub is an open source, extensible RSS feed generator. In commits prior to 5c4177441417 passing some special values to the `filter` and `filterout` parameters can cause an abnormally high CPU. This results in an impact on the performance of the servers and RSSHub services which may lead to a denial of service. This issue has been fixed in commit 5c4177441417 and all users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this issue.
MinIO is a multi-cloud object storage solution. Starting with version RELEASE.2019-09-25T18-25-51Z and ending with version RELEASE.2022-06-02T02-11-04Z, MinIO is vulnerable to an unending go-routine buildup while keeping connections established due to HTTP clients not closing the connections. Public-facing MinIO deployments are most affected. Users should upgrade to RELEASE.2022-06-02T02-11-04Z to receive a patch. One possible workaround is to use a reverse proxy to limit the number of connections being attempted in front of MinIO, and actively rejecting connections from such malicious clients.
A Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability was discovered in the /api/v1/boards/{board_id} endpoint of invoke-ai/invokeai version v5.0.2. This vulnerability occurs when an excessively large payload is sent in the board_name field during a PATCH request. By sending a large payload, the UI becomes unresponsive, rendering it impossible for users to interact with or manage the affected board. Additionally, the option to delete the board becomes inaccessible, amplifying the severity of the issue.
A Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability in the multipart request boundary processing mechanism of the Invoke-AI server (version v5.0.1) allows unauthenticated attackers to cause excessive resource consumption. The server fails to handle excessive characters appended to the end of multipart boundaries, leading to an infinite loop and a complete denial of service for all users. The affected endpoint is `/api/v1/images/upload`.
