In Trusted Firmware Mbed TLS 2.24.0, a side-channel vulnerability in base64 PEM file decoding allows system-level (administrator) attackers to obtain information about secret RSA keys via a controlled-channel and side-channel attack on software running in isolated environments that can be single stepped, especially Intel SGX.
An issue was discovered in Open Ticket Request System (OTRS) 7.0.x through 7.0.8, and Community Edition 5.0.x through 5.0.36 and 6.0.x through 6.0.19. An attacker who is logged into OTRS as an agent user with appropriate permissions can leverage OTRS notification tags in templates in order to disclose hashed user passwords.
An issue was discovered in OpenStack Nova before 17.0.12, 18.x before 18.2.2, and 19.x before 19.0.2. If an API request from an authenticated user ends in a fault condition due to an external exception, details of the underlying environment may be leaked in the response, and could include sensitive configuration or other data.
Yaws 1.91 has a directory traversal vulnerability in the way certain URLs are processed. A remote authenticated user could use this flaw to obtain content of arbitrary local files via specially-crafted URL request.
In trytond/model/modelstorage.py in Tryton 4.2 before 4.2.21, 4.4 before 4.4.19, 4.6 before 4.6.14, 4.8 before 4.8.10, and 5.0 before 5.0.6, an authenticated user can order records based on a field for which he has no access right. This may allow the user to guess values.
ansible-playbook -k and ansible cli tools, all versions 2.8.x before 2.8.4, all 2.7.x before 2.7.13 and all 2.6.x before 2.6.19, prompt passwords by expanding them from templates as they could contain special characters. Passwords should be wrapped to prevent templates trigger and exposing them.
Vulnerability in the Java SE, Java SE Embedded, JRockit component of Oracle Java SE (subcomponent: LDAP). Supported versions that are affected are Java SE: 6u171, 7u161, 8u152 and 9.0.1; Java SE Embedded: 8u151; JRockit: R28.3.16. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows low privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise Java SE, Java SE Embedded, JRockit. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized read access to a subset of Java SE, Java SE Embedded, JRockit accessible data. Note: This vulnerability applies to client and server deployment of Java. This vulnerability can be exploited through sandboxed Java Web Start applications and sandboxed Java applets. It can also be exploited by supplying data to APIs in the specified Component without using sandboxed Java Web Start applications or sandboxed Java applets, such as through a web service. CVSS 3.0 Base Score 4.3 (Confidentiality impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:N).
Security constraints defined by annotations of Servlets in Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.4, 8.5.0 to 8.5.27, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.49 and 7.0.0 to 7.0.84 were only applied once a Servlet had been loaded. Because security constraints defined in this way apply to the URL pattern and any URLs below that point, it was possible - depending on the order Servlets were loaded - for some security constraints not to be applied. This could have exposed resources to users who were not authorised to access them.
An issue was discovered in Linaro LAVA before 2018.5.post1. Because of support for URLs in the submit page, a user can forge an HTTP request that will force lava-server-gunicorn to return any file on the server that is readable by lavaserver and valid yaml.
A flaw was found in the way dic_unserialize function of glusterfs does not handle negative key length values. An attacker could use this flaw to read memory from other locations into the stored dict value.
An information disclosure vulnerability was discovered in glusterfs server. An attacker could issue a xattr request via glusterfs FUSE to determine the existence of any file.
The Samba Active Directory LDAP server was vulnerable to an information disclosure flaw because of missing access control checks. An authenticated attacker could use this flaw to extract confidential attribute values using LDAP search expressions. Samba versions before 4.6.16, 4.7.9 and 4.8.4 are vulnerable.
In GNU Mailman before 2.1.36, the CSRF token for the Cgi/admindb.py admindb page contains an encrypted version of the list admin password. This could potentially be cracked by a moderator via an offline brute-force attack.
GNU Mailman before 2.1.35 may allow remote Privilege Escalation. A certain csrf_token value is derived from the admin password, and may be useful in conducting a brute-force attack against that password.
In Mosquitto before 1.4.12, pattern based ACLs can be bypassed by clients that set their username/client id to '#' or '+'. This allows locally or remotely connected clients to access MQTT topics that they do have the rights to. The same issue may be present in third party authentication/access control plugins for Mosquitto.
In Drupal core 8.x prior to 8.3.4 and Drupal core 7.x prior to 7.56; Private files that have been uploaded by an anonymous user but not permanently attached to content on the site should only be visible to the anonymous user that uploaded them, rather than all anonymous users. Drupal core did not previously provide this protection, allowing an access bypass vulnerability to occur. This issue is mitigated by the fact that in order to be affected, the site must allow anonymous users to upload files into a private file system.
In Open Ticket Request System (OTRS) through 3.3.20, 4 through 4.0.26, 5 through 5.0.24, and 6 through 6.0.1, an attacker who is logged in as a customer can use the ticket search form to disclose internal article information of their customer tickets.
Redis is an open source, in-memory database that persists on disk. When using the Redis Lua Debugger, users can send malformed requests that cause the debugger’s protocol parser to read data beyond the actual buffer. This issue affects all versions of Redis with Lua debugging support (3.2 or newer). The problem is fixed in versions 6.2.6, 6.0.16 and 5.0.14.
An issue was discovered in Symfony before 2.7.38, 2.8.31, 3.2.14, 3.3.13, 3.4-BETA5, and 4.0-BETA5. When a form is submitted by the user, the request handler classes of the Form component merge POST data and uploaded files data into one array. This big array forms the data that are then bound to the form. At this stage there is no difference anymore between submitted POST data and uploaded files. A user can send a crafted HTTP request where the value of a "FileType" is sent as normal POST data that could be interpreted as a local file path on the server-side (for example, "file:///etc/passwd"). If the application did not perform any additional checks about the value submitted to the "FileType", the contents of the given file on the server could have been exposed to the attacker.
Wordpress is an open source CMS. A user with the ability to upload files (like an Author) can exploit an XML parsing issue in the Media Library leading to XXE attacks. This requires WordPress installation to be using PHP 8. Access to internal files is possible in a successful XXE attack. This has been patched in WordPress version 5.7.1, along with the older affected versions via a minor release. We strongly recommend you keep auto-updates enabled.
lilo-uuid-diskid causes lilo.conf to be world-readable in lilo 23.1.
An issue was discovered in the AbuseFilter extension for MediaWiki through 1.35.2. The Special:AbuseFilter/examine form allowed for the disclosure of suppressed MediaWiki usernames to unprivileged users.
The dump_resource function in dird/dird_conf.c in Bacula before 5.2.11 does not properly enforce ACL rules, which allows remote authenticated users to obtain resource dump information via unspecified vectors.
It was found that libpam4j up to and including 1.8 did not properly validate user accounts when authenticating. A user with a valid password for a disabled account would be able to bypass security restrictions and possibly access sensitive information.
An issue was discovered in the AbuseFilter extension for MediaWiki before 1.39.9, 1.40.x and 1.41.x before 1.41.3, and 1.42.x before 1.42.2. An API caller can match a filter condition against AbuseFilter logs even if the caller is not authorized to view the log details for the filter.
An issue was discovered in the CheckUser extension for MediaWiki through 1.42.1. The API can expose suppressed information for log events. (The log_deleted attribute is not applied to entries.)
A security flaw was found in Ansible Engine, all Ansible 2.7.x versions prior to 2.7.17, all Ansible 2.8.x versions prior to 2.8.11 and all Ansible 2.9.x versions prior to 2.9.7, when managing kubernetes using the k8s module. Sensitive parameters such as passwords and tokens are passed to kubectl from the command line, not using an environment variable or an input configuration file. This will disclose passwords and tokens from process list and no_log directive from debug module would not have any effect making these secrets being disclosed on stdout and log files.
A flaw was found in the Ansible Engine when using module_args. Tasks executed with check mode (--check-mode) do not properly neutralize sensitive data exposed in the event data. This flaw allows unauthorized users to read this data. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to confidentiality.
cifs-utils through 6.14, with verbose logging, can cause an information leak when a file contains = (equal sign) characters but is not a valid credentials file.
An Improper Output Neutralization for Logs flaw was found in Ansible when using the uri module, where sensitive data is exposed to content and json output. This flaw allows an attacker to access the logs or outputs of performed tasks to read keys used in playbooks from other users within the uri module. The highest threat from this vulnerability is to data confidentiality.
In support.c in pam_tacplus 1.3.8 through 1.5.1, the TACACS+ shared secret gets logged via syslog if the DEBUG loglevel and journald are used.
An issue was discovered in through SaltStack Salt before 3002.5. salt.modules.cmdmod can log credentials to the info or error log level.
aria2c in aria2 1.33.1, when --log is used, can store an HTTP Basic Authentication username and password in a file, which might allow local users to obtain sensitive information by reading this file.
__btrfs_free_extent in fs/btrfs/extent-tree.c in the Linux kernel through 5.3.12 calls btrfs_print_leaf in a certain ENOENT case, which allows local users to obtain potentially sensitive information about register values via the dmesg program. NOTE: The BTRFS development team disputes this issues as not being a vulnerability because “1) The kernel provide facilities to restrict access to dmesg - dmesg_restrict=1 sysctl option. So it's really up to the system administrator to judge whether dmesg access shall be disallowed or not. 2) WARN/WARN_ON are widely used macros in the linux kernel. If this CVE is considered valid this would mean there are literally thousands CVE lurking in the kernel - something which clearly is not the case.
An issue was discovered in the AbuseFilter extension for MediaWiki. includes/special/SpecialAbuseLog.php allows attackers to obtain sensitive information, such as deleted/suppressed usernames and summaries, from AbuseLog revision data. This affects REL1_32 and REL1_33.
In Ansible, all Ansible Engine versions up to ansible-engine 2.8.5, ansible-engine 2.7.13, ansible-engine 2.6.19, were logging at the DEBUG level which lead to a disclosure of credentials if a plugin used a library that logged credentials at the DEBUG level. This flaw does not affect Ansible modules, as those are executed in a separate process.
An issue was discovered in the CheckUser extension for MediaWiki through 1.42.1. The Special:Investigate feature can expose suppressed information for log events. (TimelineService does not support properly suppressing.)
A flaw was found in python-oslo-utils. Due to improper parsing, passwords with a double quote ( " ) in them cause incorrect masking in debug logs, causing any part of the password after the double quote to be plaintext.
Ansible 2.5 prior to 2.5.5, and 2.4 prior to 2.4.5, do not honor the no_log task flag for failed tasks. When the no_log flag has been used to protect sensitive data passed to a task from being logged, and that task does not run successfully, Ansible will expose sensitive data in log files and on the terminal of the user running Ansible.
In Redmine before 3.2.6 and 3.3.x before 3.3.3, remote attackers can obtain sensitive information (password reset tokens) by reading a Referer log, because account/lost_password does not use a redirect.
VMware Cloud Foundation contains an information disclosure vulnerability due to logging of credentials in plain-text within multiple log files on the SDDC Manager. A malicious actor with root access on VMware Cloud Foundation SDDC Manager may be able to view credentials in plaintext within one or more log files.
myFax version 229 logs sensitive information in the export log module which allows any user to access critical information.
An information exposure through log file vulnerability where sensitive fields are recorded in the configuration log without masking on Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS software when the after-change-detail custom syslog field is enabled for configuration logs and the sensitive field appears multiple times in one log entry. The first instance of the sensitive field is masked but subsequent instances are left in clear text. This issue impacts: PAN-OS 8.1 versions earlier than PAN-OS 8.1.16; PAN-OS 9.0 versions earlier than PAN-OS 9.0.10; PAN-OS 9.1 versions earlier than PAN-OS 9.1.4.
An information exposure through log file vulnerability where an administrator's password or other sensitive information may be logged in cleartext while using the CLI in Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS software. The opcmdhistory.log file was introduced to track operational command (op-command) usage but did not mask all sensitive information. The opcmdhistory.log file is removed in PAN-OS 9.1 and later PAN-OS versions. Command usage is recorded, instead, in the req_stats.log file in PAN-OS 9.1 and later PAN-OS versions. This issue impacts: PAN-OS 8.1 versions earlier than PAN-OS 8.1.16; PAN-OS 9.0 versions earlier than PAN-OS 9.0.10; PAN-OS 9.1 versions earlier than PAN-OS 9.1.3.
Multiple vulnerabilities in the API and web-based management interfaces of Cisco Expressway Series and Cisco TelePresence Video Communication Server (VCS) could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to write files or disclose sensitive information on an affected device. For more information about these vulnerabilities, see the Details section of this advisory.
Brocade Fabric OS versions before Brocade Fabric OS v7.4.2g could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to view a user password in cleartext. The vulnerability is due to incorrectly logging the user password in log files.
In Octopus Deploy 2018.8.0 through 2019.x before 2019.12.2, an authenticated user with could trigger a deployment that leaks the Helm Chart repository password.
IBM Security Access Manager Appliance 8.0.0 through 8.0.1.6, and 9.0.0 through 9.0.3.1 stores potentially sensitive information in log files that could be read by a remote user. IBM X-Force ID: 128617.
