IOWOW is a C utility library and persistent key/value storage engine. Versions 1.4.15 and prior contain a stack buffer overflow vulnerability that allows for Denial of Service (DOS) when it parses scientific notation numbers present in JSON. A patch for this issue is available at commit a79d31e4cff1d5a08f665574b29fd885897a28fd in the `master` branch of the repository. There are no workarounds other than applying the patch.
Cloudflare version of zlib library was found to be vulnerable to memory corruption issues affecting the deflation algorithm implementation (deflate.c). The issues resulted from improper input validation and heap-based buffer overflow. A local attacker could exploit the problem during compression using a crafted malicious file potentially leading to denial of service of the software. Patches: The issue has been patched in commit 8352d10 https://github.com/cloudflare/zlib/commit/8352d108c05db1bdc5ac3bdf834dad641694c13c . The upstream repository is not affected.

TensorFlow is an open source platform for machine learning. In affected versions the shape inference function for `Transpose` is vulnerable to a heap buffer overflow. This occurs whenever `perm` contains negative elements. The shape inference function does not validate that the indices in `perm` are all valid. The fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.7.0. We will also cherrypick this commit on TensorFlow 2.6.1, TensorFlow 2.5.2, and TensorFlow 2.4.4, as these are also affected and still in supported range.

An attacker can send a specially crafted packet to trigger the parsing of this cache file.The destination buffer sp+0x440 is overflowed with the call to sprintf() for any type values that are greater than 1024-len(‘/etc/config-tools/config_interfaces interface=X1 state=enabled config-type=‘) in length. A type value of length 0x3d9 will cause the service to crash.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: lpfc: Fix list_add() corruption in lpfc_drain_txq() When parsing the txq list in lpfc_drain_txq(), the driver attempts to pass the requests to the adapter. If such an attempt fails, a local "fail_msg" string is set and a log message output. The job is then added to a completions list for cancellation. Processing of any further jobs from the txq list continues, but since "fail_msg" remains set, jobs are added to the completions list regardless of whether a wqe was passed to the adapter. If successfully added to txcmplq, jobs are added to both lists resulting in list corruption. Fix by clearing the fail_msg string after adding a job to the completions list. This stops the subsequent jobs from being added to the completions list unless they had an appropriate failure.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFS: fix an incorrect limit in filelayout_decode_layout() The "sizeof(struct nfs_fh)" is two bytes too large and could lead to memory corruption. It should be NFS_MAXFHSIZE because that's the size of the ->data[] buffer. I reversed the size of the arguments to put the variable on the left.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ubifs: Fix races between xattr_{set|get} and listxattr operations UBIFS may occur some problems with concurrent xattr_{set|get} and listxattr operations, such as assertion failure, memory corruption, stale xattr value[1]. Fix it by importing a new rw-lock in @ubifs_inode to serilize write operations on xattr, concurrent read operations are still effective, just like ext4. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mptcp: fix data stream corruption Maxim reported several issues when forcing a TCP transparent proxy to use the MPTCP protocol for the inbound connections. He also provided a clean reproducer. The problem boils down to 'mptcp_frag_can_collapse_to()' assuming that only MPTCP will use the given page_frag. If others - e.g. the plain TCP protocol - allocate page fragments, we can end-up re-using already allocated memory for mptcp_data_frag. Panda3D versions up to and including 1.10.16 egg-mkfont contains a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability due to use of an unbounded sprintf() call with attacker-controlled input. When constructing glyph filenames, egg-mkfont formats a user-supplied glyph pattern (-gp) into a fixed-size stack buffer without length validation. Supplying an excessively long glyph pattern string can overflow the stack buffer, resulting in memory corruption and a deterministic crash. Depending on build configuration and execution environment, the overflow may also be exploitable for arbitrary code execution.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vmxnet3: Fix packet corruption in vmxnet3_xdp_xmit_frame Andrew and Nikolay reported connectivity issues with Cilium's service load-balancing in case of vmxnet3. If a BPF program for native XDP adds an encapsulation header such as IPIP and transmits the packet out the same interface, then in case of vmxnet3 a corrupted packet is being sent and subsequently dropped on the path. vmxnet3_xdp_xmit_frame() which is called e.g. via vmxnet3_run_xdp() through vmxnet3_xdp_xmit_back() calculates an incorrect DMA address: page = virt_to_page(xdpf->data); tbi->dma_addr = page_pool_get_dma_addr(page) + VMXNET3_XDP_HEADROOM; dma_sync_single_for_device(&adapter->pdev->dev, tbi->dma_addr, buf_size, DMA_TO_DEVICE); The above assumes a fixed offset (VMXNET3_XDP_HEADROOM), but the XDP BPF program could have moved xdp->data. While the passed buf_size is correct (xdpf->len), the dma_addr needs to have a dynamic offset which can be calculated as xdpf->data - (void *)xdpf, that is, xdp->data - xdp->data_hard_start.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: MIPS: ftrace: Fix memory corruption when kernel is located beyond 32 bits Since commit e424054000878 ("MIPS: Tracing: Reduce the overhead of dynamic Function Tracer"), the macro UASM_i_LA_mostly has been used, and this macro can generate more than 2 instructions. At the same time, the code in ftrace assumes that no more than 2 instructions can be generated, which is why it stores them in an int[2] array. However, as previously noted, the macro UASM_i_LA_mostly (and now UASM_i_LA) causes a buffer overflow when _mcount is beyond 32 bits. This leads to corruption of the variables located in the __read_mostly section. This corruption was observed because the variable __cpu_primary_thread_mask was corrupted, causing a hang very early during boot. This fix prevents the corruption by avoiding the generation of instructions if they could exceed 2 instructions in length. Fortunately, insn_la_mcount is only used if the instrumented code is located outside the kernel code section, so dynamic ftrace can still be used, albeit in a more limited scope. This is still preferable to corrupting memory and/or crashing the kernel.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: vivid: fix buffer overwrite when using > 32 buffers The maximum number of buffers that can be requested was increased to 64 for the video capture queue. But video capture used a must_blank array that was still sized for 32 (VIDEO_MAX_FRAME). This caused an out-of-bounds write when using buffer indices >= 32. Create a new define MAX_VID_CAP_BUFFERS that is used to access the must_blank array and set max_num_buffers for the video capture queue.
