systemd before 247 does not adequately block local privilege escalation for some Sudo configurations, e.g., plausible sudoers files in which the "systemctl status" command may be executed. Specifically, systemd does not set LESSSECURE to 1, and thus other programs may be launched from the less program. This presents a substantial security risk when running systemctl from Sudo, because less executes as root when the terminal size is too small to show the complete systemctl output.
An insecure temporary file vulnerability in Palo Alto Networks Traps allows a local authenticated Windows user to escalate privileges or overwrite system files. This issue affects Palo Alto Networks Traps 5.0 versions before 5.0.8; 6.1 versions before 6.1.4 on Windows. This issue does not affect Cortex XDR 7.0. This issue does not affect Traps for Linux or MacOS.

An issue was discovered in the Hyundai Gen5W_L in-vehicle infotainment system AE_E_PE_EUR.S5W_L001.001.211214. The AppUpgrade binary file, which is used during the firmware installation process, can be modified by an attacker to bypass the version check in order to install any firmware version (e.g., newer, older, or customized). This indirectly allows an attacker to install custom firmware in the IVI system.
PackageKit's apt backend mistakenly treated all local debs as trusted. The apt security model is based on repository trust and not on the contents of individual files. On sites with configured PolicyKit rules this may allow users to install malicious packages.
An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists when the Windows AppX Deployment Extensions improperly performs privilege management, resulting in access to system files. To exploit this vulnerability, an authenticated attacker would need to run a specially crafted application to elevate privileges. A privilege escalation vulnerability exists in the WinRing0x64 Driver Privileged I/O Write IRPs functionality of NZXT CAM 4.8.0. A specially crafted I/O request packet (IRP) can cause increased privileges. Using the IRP 0x9c40a0e0 gives a low privilege user direct access to the OUT instruction that is completely unrestrained at an elevated privilege level. An attacker can send a malicious IRP to trigger this vulnerability.

NVIDIA DGX A100/A800 contains a vulnerability in SBIOS where an attacker may cause execution with unnecessary privileges by leveraging a weakness whereby proper input parameter validation is not performed. A successful exploit of this vulnerability may lead to denial of service, information disclosure, and data tampering.
An issue was discovered on NOKIA Airscale ASIKA Single RAN devices before 21B. A mobile network solution internal fault was found in Nokia Single RAN software releases. Certain software processes in the BTS internal software design have unnecessarily high privileges to BTS embedded operating system (OS) resources.
An issue was discovered on NOKIA Airscale ASIKA Single RAN devices before 21B. If/when CSP (as a BTS administrator) removes security hardenings from the Nokia Single RAN BTS baseband unit, the BTS baseband unit diagnostic tool AaShell (which is by default disabled) allows unauthenticated access from the mobile network solution internal BTS management network to the BTS embedded Linux operating-system level.
The Client-Server Run-time Subsystem (CSRSS) in Microsoft Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 Gold and R2, Windows RT 8.1, and Windows 10 Gold and 1511 mismanages process tokens, which allows local users to gain privileges via a crafted application, aka "Windows CSRSS Security Feature Bypass Vulnerability."
Nokia MantaRay NM is vulnerable to a sudo privilege escalation vulnerability where a local attacker possessing administrative (local admin) privileges can escalate to full root privileges on the host. Successful exploitation results in root-level access to the filesystem and the ability to execute actions as root. The risk can be temporarily mitigated by restricting the set of commands permitted via sudo for the affected accounts.
A vulnerability exists in Quick Heal Total Security 23.0.0 in the quarantine management component where insufficient validation of restore paths and improper permission handling allow a low-privileged local user to restore quarantined files into protected system directories. This behavior can be abused by a local attacker to place files in high-privilege locations, potentially leading to privilege escalation.
On affected modular platforms running Arista EOS equipped with both redundant supervisor modules and having the redundancy protocol configured with RPR or SSO, an existing unprivileged user can login to the standby supervisor as a root user, leading to a privilege escalation. Valid user credentials are required in order to exploit this vulnerability.

CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager Agent through 25.10.0 allows a local user to achieve privilege escalation through policy elevation of an Administration task.
Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. An issue in versions prior to 6.0.6 and 6.19.0 affects any Incus user in an environment where an unprivileged user may have root access to a container with an attached custom storage volume that has the `security.shifted` property set to `true` as well as access to the host as an unprivileged user. The most common case for this would be systems using `incus-user` with the less privileged `incus` group to provide unprivileged users with an isolated restricted access to Incus. Such users may be able to create a custom storage volume with the necessary property (depending on kernel and filesystem support) and can then write a setuid binary from within the container which can be executed as an unprivileged user on the host to gain root privileges. A patch for this issue is expected in versions 6.0.6 and 6.19.0. As a workaround, permissions can be manually restricted until a patched version of Incus is deployed.
IBM Turbonomic prometurbo agent 8.16.0 through 8.17.6 IBM Turbonomic Application Resource Management grants excessive cluster‑wide permissions, including unrestricted read access to all secrets.
