The YOP Poll WordPress plugin before 6.3.1 is affected by a stored Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability, which exists in the Admin preview module where a user with a role as low as author is allowed to execute arbitrary script code within the context of the application. This vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of question and answer text parameters in Create Poll module.

The serialize-javascript npm package before version 2.1.1 is vulnerable to Cross-site Scripting (XSS). It does not properly mitigate against unsafe characters in serialized regular expressions. This vulnerability is not affected on Node.js environment since Node.js's implementation of RegExp.prototype.toString() backslash-escapes all forward slashes in regular expressions. If serialized data of regular expression objects are used in an environment other than Node.js, it is affected by this vulnerability.

WordPress users with lower privileges (like contributors) can inject JavaScript code in the block editor using a specific payload, which is executed within the dashboard. This can lead to XSS if an admin opens the post in the editor. Execution of this attack does require an authenticated user. This has been patched in WordPress 5.3.1, along with all the previous WordPress versions from 3.7 to 5.3 via a minor release. Automatic updates are enabled by default for minor releases and we strongly recommend that you keep them enabled.

The image_url parameter of the AJAX call to the editimage_bwg action of admin-ajax.php is vulnerable to reflected Cross Site Scripting. The value of the image_url parameter is embedded within an existing JavaScript within the response allowing arbitrary JavaScript to be inserted and executed. The attacker must target a an authenticated user with permissions to access this component to exploit this issue.

The image upload component allows SVG files and the regular expression used to remove script tags can be bypassed by using a Cross Site Scripting payload which does not match the regular expression; one example of this is the inclusion of whitespace within the script tag. An attacker must target an authenticated user with permissions to access this feature, however once uploaded the payload is also accessible to unauthenticated users.
