btrfs: qgroup: fix qgroup prealloc rsv leak in subvolume operations

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: qgroup: fix qgroup prealloc rsv leak in subvolume operations Create subvolume, create snapshot and delete subvolume all use btrfs_subvolume_reserve_metadata() to reserve metadata for the changes done to the parent subvolume's fs tree, which cannot be mediated in the normal way via start_transaction. When quota groups (squota or qgroups) are enabled, this reserves qgroup metadata of type PREALLOC. Once the operation is associated to a transaction, we convert PREALLOC to PERTRANS, which gets cleared in bulk at the end of the transaction. However, the error paths of these three operations were not implementing this lifecycle correctly. They unconditionally converted the PREALLOC to PERTRANS in a generic cleanup step regardless of errors or whether the operation was fully associated to a transaction or not. This resulted in error paths occasionally converting this rsv to PERTRANS without calling record_root_in_trans successfully, which meant that unless that root got recorded in the transaction by some other thread, the end of the transaction would not free that root's PERTRANS, leaking it. Ultimately, this resulted in hitting a WARN in CONFIG_BTRFS_DEBUG builds at unmount for the leaked reservation. The fix is to ensure that every qgroup PREALLOC reservation observes the following properties: 1. any failure before record_root_in_trans is called successfully results in freeing the PREALLOC reservation. 2. after record_root_in_trans, we convert to PERTRANS, and now the transaction owns freeing the reservation. This patch enforces those properties on the three operations. Without it, generic/269 with squotas enabled at mkfs time would fail in ~5-10 runs on my system. With this patch, it ran successfully 1000 times in a row.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: of: dynamic: Synchronize of_changeset_destroy() with the devlink removals In the following sequence: 1) of_platform_depopulate() 2) of_overlay_remove() During the step 1, devices are destroyed and devlinks are removed. During the step 2, OF nodes are destroyed but __of_changeset_entry_destroy() can raise warnings related to missing of_node_put(): ERROR: memory leak, expected refcount 1 instead of 2 ... Indeed, during the devlink removals performed at step 1, the removal itself releasing the device (and the attached of_node) is done by a job queued in a workqueue and so, it is done asynchronously with respect to function calls. When the warning is present, of_node_put() will be called but wrongly too late from the workqueue job. In order to be sure that any ongoing devlink removals are done before the of_node destruction, synchronize the of_changeset_destroy() with the devlink removals.

mlxsw: spectrum_acl_tcam: Fix memory leak when canceling rehash work

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mlxsw: spectrum_acl_tcam: Fix memory leak when canceling rehash work The rehash delayed work is rescheduled with a delay if the number of credits at end of the work is not negative as supposedly it means that the migration ended. Otherwise, it is rescheduled immediately. After "mlxsw: spectrum_acl_tcam: Fix possible use-after-free during rehash" the above is no longer accurate as a non-negative number of credits is no longer indicative of the migration being done. It can also happen if the work encountered an error in which case the migration will resume the next time the work is scheduled. The significance of the above is that it is possible for the work to be pending and associated with hints that were allocated when the migration started. This leads to the hints being leaked [1] when the work is canceled while pending as part of ACL region dismantle. Fix by freeing the hints if hints are associated with a work that was canceled while pending. Blame the original commit since the reliance on not having a pending work associated with hints is fragile. x86/mm/pat: fix VM_PAT handling in COW mappings

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/mm/pat: fix VM_PAT handling in COW mappings PAT handling won't do the right thing in COW mappings: the first PTE (or, in fact, all PTEs) can be replaced during write faults to point at anon folios. Reliably recovering the correct PFN and cachemode using follow_phys() from PTEs will not work in COW mappings. Using follow_phys(), we might just get the address+protection of the anon folio (which is very wrong), or fail on swap/nonswap entries, failing follow_phys() and triggering a WARN_ON_ONCE() in untrack_pfn() and track_pfn_copy(), not properly calling free_pfn_range(). In free_pfn_range(), we either wouldn't call memtype_free() or would call it with the wrong range, possibly leaking memory. To fix that, let's update follow_phys() to refuse returning anon folios, and fallback to using the stored PFN inside vma->vm_pgoff for COW mappings if we run into that. We will now properly handle untrack_pfn() with COW mappings, where we don't need the cachemode. We'll have to fail fork()->track_pfn_copy() if the first page was replaced by an anon folio, though: we'd have to store the cachemode in the VMA to make this work, likely growing the VMA size. For now, lets keep it simple and let track_pfn_copy() just fail in that case: it would have failed in the past with swap/nonswap entries already, and it would have done the wrong thing with anon folios. In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: af_unix: Call kfree_skb() for dead unix_(sk)->oob_skb in GC. syzbot reported a warning [0] in __unix_gc() with a repro, which creates a socketpair and sends one socket's fd to itself using the peer. socketpair(AF_UNIX, SOCK_STREAM, 0, [3, 4]) = 0 sendmsg(4, {msg_name=NULL, msg_namelen=0, msg_iov=[{iov_base="\360", iov_len=1}], msg_iovlen=1, msg_control=[{cmsg_len=20, cmsg_level=SOL_SOCKET, cmsg_type=SCM_RIGHTS, cmsg_data=[3]}], msg_controllen=24, msg_flags=0}, MSG_OOB|MSG_PROBE|MSG_DONTWAIT|MSG_ZEROCOPY) = 1 This forms a self-cyclic reference that GC should finally untangle but does not due to lack of MSG_OOB handling, resulting in memory leak. Recently, commit 11498715f266 ("af_unix: Remove io_uring code for GC.") removed io_uring's dead code in GC and revealed the problem. The code was executed at the final stage of GC and unconditionally moved all GC candidates from gc_candidates to gc_inflight_list. That papered over the reported problem by always making the following WARN_ON_ONCE(!list_empty(&gc_candidates)) false. The problem has been there since commit 2aab4b969002 ("af_unix: fix struct pid leaks in OOB support") added full scm support for MSG_OOB while fixing another bug. To fix this problem, we must call kfree_skb() for unix_sk(sk)->oob_skb if the socket still exists in gc_candidates after purging collected skb. Then, we need to set NULL to oob_skb before calling kfree_skb() because it calls last fput() and triggers unix_release_sock(), where we call duplicate kfree_skb(u->oob_skb) if not NULL. Note that the leaked socket remained being linked to a global list, so kmemleak also could not detect it. We need to check /proc/net/protocol to notice the unfreed socket. Synchronously, dma info is updated based on use_dma_api judgment This bug does not occur, because no driver use the premapped with indirect.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/smc: fix connection leak There's a potential leak issue under following execution sequence : smc_release smc_connect_work if (sk->sk_state == SMC_INIT) send_clc_confirim tcp_abort(); ... sk.sk_state = SMC_ACTIVE smc_close_active switch(sk->sk_state) { ... case SMC_ACTIVE: smc_close_final() // then wait peer closed Unfortunately, tcp_abort() may discard CLC CONFIRM messages that are still in the tcp send buffer, in which case our connection token cannot be delivered to the server side, which means that we cannot get a passive close message at all. Therefore, it is impossible for the to be disconnected at all. This patch tries a very simple way to avoid this issue, once the state has changed to SMC_ACTIVE after tcp_abort(), we can actively abort the smc connection, considering that the state is SMC_INIT before tcp_abort(), abandoning the complete disconnection process should not cause too much problem. In fact, this problem may exist as long as the CLC CONFIRM message is not received by the server. Whether a timer should be added after smc_close_final() needs to be discussed in the future. But even so, this patch provides a faster release for connection in above case, it should also be valuable.

btrfs: fix leak of kobject name for sub-group space_info

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: btrfs: fix leak of kobject name for sub-group space_info When create_space_info_sub_group() allocates elements of space_info->sub_group[], kobject_init_and_add() is called for each element via btrfs_sysfs_add_space_info_type(). However, when check_removing_space_info() frees these elements, it does not call btrfs_sysfs_remove_space_info() on them. As a result, kobject_put() is not called and the associated kobj->name objects are leaked. This memory leak is reproduced by running the blktests test case zbd/009 on kernels built with CONFIG_DEBUG_KMEMLEAK.
