When configuring SSL bundles in Spring Cloud Gateway by using the configuration property spring.ssl.bundle, the configuration was silently ignored and the default SSL configuration was used instead. Note: The 4.2.x branch is no longer under open source support. If you are using Spring Cloud Gateway 4.2.0 and are not an enterprise customer, you can upgrade to any Spring Cloud Gateway 4.2.x release newer than 4.2.0 available on Maven Centeral https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/org/springframework/cloud/spring-cloud-gateway/ . Ideally if you are not an enterprise customer, you should be upgrading to 5.0.2 or 5.1.1 which are the current supported open source releases.
Directory traversal vulnerability in minion id validation in SaltStack Salt before 2016.11.7 and 2017.7.x before 2017.7.1 allows remote minions with incorrect credentials to authenticate to a master via a crafted minion ID.
A specially crafted url can be created which leads to a directory traversal in the salt file server. A malicious user can read an arbitrary file from a Salt master’s filesystem.
File contents overwrite the VirtKey class is called when “on-demand pillar” data is requested and uses un-validated input to create paths to the “pki directory”. The functionality is used to auto-accept Minion authentication keys based on a pre-placed “authorization file” at a specific location and is present in the default configuration.
Arbitrary directory creation or file deletion. In the find_file method of the GitFS class, a path is created using os.path.join using unvalidated input from the “tgt_env” variable. This can be exploited by an attacker to delete any file on the Master's process has permissions to.
Directory traversal attack in minion file cache creation. The master's default cache is vulnerable to a directory traversal attack. Which could be leveraged to write or overwrite 'cache' files outside of the cache directory.
Directory Traversal vulnerability in salt-api in SaltStack Salt before 2017.7.8 and 2018.3.x before 2018.3.3 allows remote attackers to determine which files exist on the server.
VMware Avi Load Balancer contains a directory traversal vulnerability. Flaws in file path validation allow malicious, authenticated network users to perform directory traversal attacks. Affected versions: 32.1.1 (fixed in 32.1.2) 31.1.1 through 31.2.2 (fixed in 31.2.2-2p3) 30.1.1 through 30.2.6 (fixed in 30.2.7) 22.1.1 through 22.1.7 (fixed in 30.2.7)
Directory traversal vulnerability in minion id validation in SaltStack Salt before 2016.3.8, 2016.11.x before 2016.11.8, and 2017.7.x before 2017.7.2 allows remote minions with incorrect credentials to authenticate to a master via a crafted minion ID. NOTE: this vulnerability exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2017-12791.
Syndic cache directory creation is vulnerable to a directory traversal attack in salt project which can lead a malicious attacker to create an arbitrary directory on a Salt master.
A zip-slip path traversal vulnerability in Spring Data Geode's import snapshot functionality allows attackers to write files outside the intended extraction directory. This vulnerability appears to be susceptible on Windows OS only.
Spring Framework MVC applications can be vulnerable to a “Path Traversal Vulnerability” when deployed on a non-compliant Servlet container. An application can be vulnerable when all the following are true: * the application is deployed as a WAR or with an embedded Servlet container * the Servlet container does not reject suspicious sequences https://jakarta.ee/specifications/servlet/6.1/jakarta-servlet-spec-6.1.html#uri-path-canonicalization * the application serves static resources https://docs.spring.io/spring-framework/reference/web/webmvc/mvc-config/static-resources.html#page-title with Spring resource handling We have verified that applications deployed on Apache Tomcat or Eclipse Jetty are not vulnerable, as long as default security features are not disabled in the configuration. Because we cannot check exploits against all Servlet containers and configuration variants, we strongly recommend upgrading your application.
VMware Cloud Foundation contains a directory traversal vulnerability. A malicious actor with network access to port 443 on VMware Cloud Foundation may exploit this issue to access certain internal services.
An issue was discovered in through SaltStack Salt before 3002.5. The salt.wheel.pillar_roots.write method is vulnerable to directory traversal.
An issue was discovered in SaltStack Salt before 2019.2.4 and 3000 before 3000.2. The salt-master process ClearFuncs class allows access to some methods that improperly sanitize paths. These methods allow arbitrary directory access to authenticated users.
Bower before 1.8.8 has a path traversal vulnerability permitting file write in arbitrary locations via install command, which allows attackers to write arbitrary files when a malicious package is extracted.
The use of the deprecated API `process.binding()` can bypass the permission model through path traversal. This vulnerability affects all users using the experimental permission model in Node.js 20.x. Please note that at the time this CVE was issued, the permission model is an experimental feature of Node.js.
mindsdb is a Machine Learning platform to help developers build AI solutions. In affected versions an unsafe extraction is being performed using `tarfile.extractall()` from a remotely retrieved tarball. Which may lead to the writing of the extracted files to an unintended location. Sometimes, the vulnerability is called a TarSlip or a ZipSlip variant. An attacker may leverage this vulnerability to overwrite any local file which the server process has access to. There is no risk of file exposure with this vulnerability. This issue has been addressed in release `23.2.1.0 `. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
RDF4J 2.4.2 allows Directory Traversal via ../ in an entry in a ZIP archive.
fast-uri decoded percent-encoded path separators and dot segments before applying dot-segment removal in its normalize() and equal() functions. Encoded path data was treated like real slashes and parent-directory references, so distinct URIs could collapse onto the same normalized path. Applications that normalize or compare attacker-controlled URLs to enforce path-based policy can be bypassed, with a path that appears confined under an allowed prefix normalizing to a different location. Versions <= 3.1.0 are affected. Update to 3.1.1 or later.
Git is a revision control system. Prior to versions 2.30.9, 2.31.8, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, 2.34.8, 2.35.8, 2.36.6, 2.37.7, 2.38.5, 2.39.3, and 2.40.1, by feeding specially crafted input to `git apply --reject`, a path outside the working tree can be overwritten with partially controlled contents (corresponding to the rejected hunk(s) from the given patch). A fix is available in versions 2.30.9, 2.31.8, 2.32.7, 2.33.8, 2.34.8, 2.35.8, 2.36.6, 2.37.7, 2.38.5, 2.39.3, and 2.40.1. As a workaround, avoid using `git apply` with `--reject` when applying patches from an untrusted source. Use `git apply --stat` to inspect a patch before applying; avoid applying one that create a conflict where a link corresponding to the `*.rej` file exists.
A directory traversal vulnerability exists in MetInfo 5.3.17. A remote attacker can use ..\ to delete any .zip file via the filenames parameter to /admin/system/database/filedown.php.
Sustainable Irrigation Platform (SIP) through version 5.2.16 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows attackers with access to the restore functionality to write files to arbitrary locations by uploading crafted JSON backup files with unvalidated keys used to construct file paths. Attackers can exploit the lack of key validation in the JSON restore process, combined with the absence of a required passphrase in the default configuration or the default passphrase 'opendoor', to write arbitrary JSON files outside the intended data directory.
Chef Software's mixlib-archive versions 0.3.0 and older are vulnerable to a directory traversal attack allowing attackers to overwrite arbitrary files by using ".." in tar archive entries
Nextcloud server is a self hosted home cloud product. In affected versions the `OC\Files\Node\Folder::getFullPath()` function was validating and normalizing the string in the wrong order. The function is used in the `newFile()` and `newFolder()` items, which may allow to creation of paths outside of ones own space and overwriting data from other users with crafted paths. This issue has been addressed in versions 25.0.2, 24.0.8, and 23.0.12. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this issue.

By feeding a crafted input to `git apply`, a path outside the working tree can be overwritten as the user who is running `git apply`. A fix has been prepared and will appear in v2.39.2, v2.38.4, v2.37.6, v2.36.5, v2.35.7, v2.34.7, v2.33.7, v2.32.6, v2.31.7, and v2.30.8. As a workaround, use `git apply --stat` to inspect a patch before applying; avoid applying one that creates a symbolic link and then creates a file beyond the symbolic link.
The issue was addressed with improved checks. This issue is fixed in iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia 15. An app may be able to record the screen without an indicator.
Path traversal in the sshd-scp component of Apache MINA SSHD. Apache MINA SSHD is a Java library for client-side and server-side SSH. The implementation of receiving files or directories via SCP did not validate filenames in SCP "C" or "D" commands. A malicious sender could send filenames containing paths, resulting in files to be written in attacker-controlled places. The issue affects only * applications that use no longer supported Apache MINA SSHD versions < 2.0.0 and use the SCP functions to receive files, * or applications using sshd-scp in Apache MINA SSHD >= 2.0.0 to receive files. Applications using Apache MINA SSHD >= 2.0.0 not using sshd-scp are not affected. The issue is fixed in Apache MINA 2.19.0 and 3.0.0-M5. Affected applications are advised to upgrade to these versions.
Trivy is a security scanner. Prior to 0.71.1, when Trivy downloads an OCI artifact, it uses the org.opencontainers.image.title annotation from the artifact manifest as the destination filename without validation. An attacker who can make Trivy fetch an attacker-controlled artifact can supply a crafted annotation that resolves to a path outside the intended destination, causing Trivy to write the layer content to an arbitrary location on the host filesystem. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.71.1.
Rapid7 Insight Agent token handler versions 3.2.6 and below, suffer from a Directory Traversal vulnerability whereby unsanitized input from a CLI argument flows into io.ioutil.WriteFile, where it is used as a path. This can result in a Path Traversal vulnerability and allow an attacker to write arbitrary files. This issue is remediated in version 3.3.0 via safe guards that reject inputs that attempt to do path traversal.
The pip package before 19.2 for Python allows Directory Traversal when a URL is given in an install command, because a Content-Disposition header can have ../ in a filename, as demonstrated by overwriting the /root/.ssh/authorized_keys file. This occurs in _download_http_url in _internal/download.py.
Tekton Pipelines project provides k8s-style resources for declaring CI/CD-style pipelines. Starting in version 1.0.0 and prior to versions 1.0.1, 1.3.3, 1.6.1, 1.9.2, and 1.10.2, the Tekton Pipelines git resolver is vulnerable to path traversal via the `pathInRepo` parameter. A tenant with permission to create `ResolutionRequests` (e.g. by creating `TaskRuns` or `PipelineRuns` that use the git resolver) can read arbitrary files from the resolver pod's filesystem, including ServiceAccount tokens. The file contents are returned base64-encoded in `resolutionrequest.status.data`. Versions 1.0.1, 1.3.3, 1.6.1, 1.9.2, and 1.10.2 contain a patch.
An issue in the component admin_template.php of SUCMS v1.0 allows attackers to execute a directory traversal and arbitrary file deletion via a crafted GET request.

Portainer before 1.22.1 allows Directory Traversal.
A flaw was found in rsync. When using the `--safe-links` option, the rsync client fails to properly verify if a symbolic link destination sent from the server contains another symbolic link within it. This results in a path traversal vulnerability, which may lead to arbitrary file write outside the desired directory.
In the ARforms plugin 3.7.1 for WordPress, arf_delete_file in arformcontroller.php allows unauthenticated deletion of an arbitrary file by supplying the full pathname.
A path traversal vulnerability exists in rsync. It stems from behavior enabled by the `--inc-recursive` option, a default-enabled option for many client options and can be enabled by the server even if not explicitly enabled by the client. When using the `--inc-recursive` option, a lack of proper symlink verification coupled with deduplication checks occurring on a per-file-list basis could allow a server to write files outside of the client's intended destination directory. A malicious server could write malicious files to arbitrary locations named after valid directories/paths on the client.
NETSAS Enigma NMS 65.0.0 and prior suffers from a directory traversal vulnerability that can allow an authenticated user to access files and directories stored outside of the web root folder. By exploiting this vulnerability, it is possible for an attacker to list operating-system directory contents on the server, create directories and upload files in permissible locations, and modify filenames and delete files that are accessible by the user running the web server instance.
The WP Hide & Security Enhancer plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file contents deletion due to a missing authorization and insufficient file path validation in the file-process.php in all versions up to, and including, 2.5.1. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete the contents of arbitrary files on the server, which can break the site or lead to data loss.
An Arbitrary File Deletion vulnerability in the Nevma Adaptive Images plugin before 0.6.67 for WordPress allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary files via the $REQUEST['adaptive-images-settings'] parameter in adaptive-images-script.php.
There exists a Path Traversal vulnerability in Safearchive on Platforms with Case-Insensitive Filesystems (e.g., NTFS). This allows Attackers to Write Arbitrary Files via Archive Extraction containing symbolic links. We recommend upgrading past commit f7ce9d7b6f9c6ecd72d0b0f16216b046e55e44dc
Adobe Commerce versions 2.4.8-beta1, 2.4.7-p3, 2.4.6-p8, 2.4.5-p10, 2.4.4-p11 and earlier are affected by an Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability that could lead to a security feature bypass. An unauthenticated attacker could exploit this vulnerability to modify files that are stored outside the restricted directory. Exploitation of this issue does not require user interaction.
Butor Portal before 1.0.27 is affected by a Path Traversal vulnerability leading to a pre-authentication arbitrary file download. Effectively, a remote anonymous user can download any file on servers running Butor Portal. WhiteLabelingServlet is responsible for this vulnerability. It does not properly sanitize user input on the theme t parameter before reusing it in a path. This path is then used without validation to fetch a file and return its raw content to the user via the /wl?t=../../...&h= substring followed by a filename.
The File Repository Server (FRS) CORBA listener in SAP BussinessObjects Edge 4.0 allows remote attackers to write to arbitrary files via a full pathname, aka SAP Note 2018681.
nsGreen.dll in Naver Vaccine 2.1.4 allows remote attackers to overwrite arbitary files via directory traversal sequences in a filename within nsz archive.
The MW WP Form plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion in all versions up to, and including, 5.0.3. This is due to the plugin not properly validating the path of an uploaded file prior to deleting it. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete arbitrary files, including the wp-config.php file, which can make site takeover and remote code execution possible.
A directory traversal vulnerability in remote access to backup & restore in earlier versions than ProSyst mBS SDK 8.2.6 and Bosch IoT Gateway Software 9.2.0 allows remote attackers to write or delete files at any location.
A Directory Traversal vulnerability exists in the GNU patch before 2.7.4. A remote attacker can write to arbitrary files via a symlink attack in a patch file. NOTE: this issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2015-1196.
An issue was discovered in zzcms 8.2. user/adv.php allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary files via directory traversal sequences in the oldimg parameter. This can be leveraged for database access by deleting install.lock.
