A shortcoming in the HMEF package of poi-scratchpad (Apache POI) allows an attacker to cause an Out of Memory exception. This package is used to read TNEF files (Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange Server). If an application uses poi-scratchpad to parse TNEF files and the application allows untrusted users to supply them, then a carefully crafted file can cause an Out of Memory exception. This issue affects poi-scratchpad version 5.2.0 and prior versions. Users are recommended to upgrade to poi-scratchpad 5.2.1.

Huawei smartphone Lion-AL00C with versions earlier than 10.0.0.205(C00E202R7P2) have a denial of service vulnerability. An attacker crafted specially file to the affected device. Due to insufficient input validation of the value when executing the file, successful exploit may cause device abnormal.
SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer, version - 9, allows a user to open manipulated Right Computer Graphics Metafile (.cgm) file received from untrusted sources which results in crashing of the application and becoming temporarily unavailable until the user restarts the application, this is caused due to Improper Input Validation.
An issue was discovered on Samsung mobile devices with Q(10.0) software. Attackers can trigger an out-of-bounds access and device reset via a 4K wallpaper image because ImageProcessHelper mishandles boundary checks. The Samsung ID is SVE-2020-18056 (July 2020).
Improper Input Validation, Uncontrolled Resource Consumption vulnerability in Apache Commons Compress in TAR parsing. This issue affects Apache Commons Compress: from 1.22 before 1.24.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 1.24.0, which fixes the issue. A third party can create a malformed TAR file by manipulating file modification times headers, which when parsed with Apache Commons Compress, will cause a denial of service issue via CPU consumption. In version 1.22 of Apache Commons Compress, support was added for file modification times with higher precision (issue # COMPRESS-612 [1]). The format for the PAX extended headers carrying this data consists of two numbers separated by a period [2], indicating seconds and subsecond precision (for example “1647221103.5998539”). The impacted fields are “atime”, “ctime”, “mtime” and “LIBARCHIVE.creationtime”. No input validation is performed prior to the parsing of header values. Parsing of these numbers uses the BigDecimal [3] class from the JDK which has a publicly known algorithmic complexity issue when doing operations on large numbers, causing denial of service (see issue # JDK-6560193 [4]). A third party can manipulate file time headers in a TAR file by placing a number with a very long fraction (300,000 digits) or a number with exponent notation (such as “9e9999999”) within a file modification time header, and the parsing of files with these headers will take hours instead of seconds, leading to a denial of service via exhaustion of CPU resources. This issue is similar to CVE-2012-2098 [5]. [1]: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/COMPRESS-612 [2]: https://pubs.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/9699919799/utilities/pax.html#tag_20_92_13_05 [3]: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/8/docs/api/java/math/BigDecimal.html [4]: https://bugs.openjdk.org/browse/JDK-6560193 [5]: https://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2012-2098 Only applications using CompressorStreamFactory class (with auto-detection of file types), TarArchiveInputStream and TarFile classes to parse TAR files are impacted. Since this code was introduced in v1.22, only that version and later versions are impacted.
InDesign Desktop versions ID20.0, ID19.5.1 and earlier are affected by an Improper Input Validation vulnerability that could result in an application denial-of-service condition. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause the application to crash, resulting in a denial of service. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.
Winamp Pro 5.66 Build 3512 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted WAV, WMV, AU, ASF, AIFF, or AIF file.
Joplin is a free, open source note taking and to-do application, which can handle a large number of notes organised into notebooks. Joplin's HTML sanitizer allows the `name` attribute to be specified. If `name` is set to the same value as an existing `document` property (e.g. `querySelector`), that property is replaced with the element. This vulnerability's only known impact is denial of service. The note viewer fails to refresh until closed and re-opened with a different note. This issue has been addressed in version 3.2.8 and all users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
jadx is a set of command line and GUI tools for producing Java source code from Android Dex and Apk files. versions prior to 1.4.5 are subject to a Denial of Service when opening zip files with HTML sequences. This issue has been patched in version 1.4.5. There are no known workarounds.
In loadLabel of PackageItemInfo.java, there is a possible way to DoS a device by having a long label in an app due to incorrect input validation. This could lead to local denial of service with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is needed for exploitation.Product: AndroidVersions: Android-11 Android-9 Android-10Android ID: A-67013844
kbx/keybox-search.c in GnuPG before 1.4.19, 2.0.x before 2.0.27, and 2.1.x before 2.1.2 does not properly handle bitwise left-shifts, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (invalid read operation) via a crafted keyring file, related to sign extensions and "memcpy with overlapping ranges."

Acrobat Reader T5 (MSFT Edge) versions 120.0.2210.91 and earlier are affected by an Improper Input Validation vulnerability. An unauthenticated attacker could leverage this vulnerability to achieve an application denial-of-service in the context of the current user. Exploitation of this issue requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.

Huawei Honor 10 smartphones with versions earlier than 10.0.0.178(C00E178R1P4) have a denial of service vulnerability. Certain service in the system does not sufficiently validate certain parameter which is received, the attacker should trick the user into installing a malicious application, successful exploit could cause a denial of service condition.
