ipv6: sr: fix memleak in seg6_hmac_init_algo

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: sr: fix memleak in seg6_hmac_init_algo seg6_hmac_init_algo returns without cleaning up the previous allocations if one fails, so it's going to leak all that memory and the crypto tfms. Update seg6_hmac_exit to only free the memory when allocated, so we can reuse the code directly.

iavf: Fix handling of dummy receive descriptors

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iavf: Fix handling of dummy receive descriptors Fix memory leak caused by not handling dummy receive descriptor properly. iavf_get_rx_buffer now sets the rx_buffer return value for dummy receive descriptors. Without this patch, when the hardware writes a dummy descriptor, iavf would not free the page allocated for the previous receive buffer. This is an unlikely event but can still happen. net/smc: fix connection leak

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/smc: fix connection leak There's a potential leak issue under following execution sequence : smc_release smc_connect_work if (sk->sk_state == SMC_INIT) send_clc_confirim tcp_abort(); ... sk.sk_state = SMC_ACTIVE smc_close_active switch(sk->sk_state) { ... case SMC_ACTIVE: smc_close_final() // then wait peer closed Unfortunately, tcp_abort() may discard CLC CONFIRM messages that are still in the tcp send buffer, in which case our connection token cannot be delivered to the server side, which means that we cannot get a passive close message at all. Therefore, it is impossible for the to be disconnected at all. This patch tries a very simple way to avoid this issue, once the state has changed to SMC_ACTIVE after tcp_abort(), we can actively abort the smc connection, considering that the state is SMC_INIT before tcp_abort(), abandoning the complete disconnection process should not cause too much problem. In fact, this problem may exist as long as the CLC CONFIRM message is not received by the server. Whether a timer should be added after smc_close_final() needs to be discussed in the future. But even so, this patch provides a faster release for connection in above case, it should also be valuable.

fs/ntfs3: provide block_invalidate_folio to fix memory leak

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: fs/ntfs3: provide block_invalidate_folio to fix memory leak The ntfs3 filesystem lacks the 'invalidate_folio' method and it causes memory leak. If you write to the filesystem and then unmount it, the cached written data are not freed and they are permanently leaked.

scsi: storvsc: Fix swiotlb bounce buffer leak in confidential VM

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: storvsc: Fix swiotlb bounce buffer leak in confidential VM storvsc_queuecommand() maps the scatter/gather list using scsi_dma_map(), which in a confidential VM allocates swiotlb bounce buffers. If the I/O submission fails in storvsc_do_io(), the I/O is typically retried by higher level code, but the bounce buffer memory is never freed. The mostly like cause of I/O submission failure is a full VMBus channel ring buffer, which is not uncommon under high I/O loads. Eventually enough bounce buffer memory leaks that the confidential VM can't do any I/O. The same problem can arise in a non-confidential VM with kernel boot parameter swiotlb=force. Fix this by doing scsi_dma_unmap() in the case of an I/O submission error, which frees the bounce buffer memory.

MIPS: pgalloc: fix memory leak caused by pgd_free()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: MIPS: pgalloc: fix memory leak caused by pgd_free() pgd page is freed by generic implementation pgd_free() since commit f9cb654cb550 ("asm-generic: pgalloc: provide generic pgd_free()"), however, there are scenarios that the system uses more than one page as the pgd table, in such cases the generic implementation pgd_free() won't be applicable anymore. For example, when PAGE_SIZE_4KB is enabled and MIPS_VA_BITS_48 is not enabled in a 64bit system, the macro "PGD_ORDER" will be set as "1", which will cause allocating two pages as the pgd table. Well, at the same time, the generic implementation pgd_free() just free one pgd page, which will result in the memory leak. The memory leak can be easily detected by executing shell command: "while true; do ls > /dev/null; grep MemFree /proc/meminfo; done"

net: mdiobus: fix unbalanced node reference count

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: mdiobus: fix unbalanced node reference count I got the following report while doing device(mscc-miim) load test with CONFIG_OF_UNITTEST and CONFIG_OF_DYNAMIC enabled: OF: ERROR: memory leak, expected refcount 1 instead of 2, of_node_get()/of_node_put() unbalanced - destroy cset entry: attach overlay node /spi/soc@0/mdio@7107009c/ethernet-phy@0 If the 'fwnode' is not an acpi node, the refcount is get in fwnode_mdiobus_phy_device_register(), but it has never been put when the device is freed in the normal path. So call fwnode_handle_put() in phy_device_release() to avoid leak. If it's an acpi node, it has never been get, but it's put in the error path, so call fwnode_handle_get() before phy_device_register() to keep get/put operation balanced.

block: fix memory leak in disk_register_independent_access_ranges

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: block: fix memory leak in disk_register_independent_access_ranges kobject_init_and_add() takes reference even when it fails. According to the doc of kobject_init_and_add() If this function returns an error, kobject_put() must be called to properly clean up the memory associated with the object. Fix this issue by adding kobject_put(). Callback function blk_ia_ranges_sysfs_release() in kobject_put() can handle the pointer "iars" properly.

bpf, sockmap: Fix memleak in tcp_bpf_sendmsg while sk msg is full

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf, sockmap: Fix memleak in tcp_bpf_sendmsg while sk msg is full If tcp_bpf_sendmsg() is running while sk msg is full. When sk_msg_alloc() returns -ENOMEM error, tcp_bpf_sendmsg() goes to wait_for_memory. If partial memory has been alloced by sk_msg_alloc(), that is, msg_tx->sg.size is greater than osize after sk_msg_alloc(), memleak occurs. To fix we use sk_msg_trim() to release the allocated memory, then goto wait for memory. Other call paths of sk_msg_alloc() have the similar issue, such as tls_sw_sendmsg(), so handle sk_msg_trim logic inside sk_msg_alloc(), as Cong Wang suggested. This issue can cause the following info: WARNING: CPU: 3 PID: 7950 at net/core/stream.c:208 sk_stream_kill_queues+0xd4/0x1a0 Call Trace: <TASK> inet_csk_destroy_sock+0x55/0x110 __tcp_close+0x279/0x470 tcp_close+0x1f/0x60 inet_release+0x3f/0x80 __sock_release+0x3d/0xb0 sock_close+0x11/0x20 __fput+0x92/0x250 task_work_run+0x6a/0xa0 do_exit+0x33b/0xb60 do_group_exit+0x2f/0xa0 get_signal+0xb6/0x950 arch_do_signal_or_restart+0xac/0x2a0 exit_to_user_mode_prepare+0xa9/0x200 syscall_exit_to_user_mode+0x12/0x30 do_syscall_64+0x46/0x80 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x44/0xae </TASK> WARNING: CPU: 3 PID: 2094 at net/ipv4/af_inet.c:155 inet_sock_destruct+0x13c/0x260 Call Trace: <TASK> __sk_destruct+0x24/0x1f0 sk_psock_destroy+0x19b/0x1c0 process_one_work+0x1b3/0x3c0 kthread+0xe6/0x110 ret_from_fork+0x22/0x30 </TASK>

netfilter: nf_tables: fix memleak in map from abort path

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_tables: fix memleak in map from abort path The delete set command does not rely on the transaction object for element removal, therefore, a combination of delete element + delete set from the abort path could result in restoring twice the refcount of the mapping. Check for inactive element in the next generation for the delete element command in the abort path, skip restoring state if next generation bit has been already cleared. This is similar to the activate logic using the set walk iterator. gss_mech_free in net/sunrpc/auth_gss/gss_mech_switch.c in the rpcsec_gss_krb5 implementation in the Linux kernel through 5.6.10 lacks certain domain_release calls, leading to a memory leak. Note: This was disputed with the assertion that the issue does not grant any access not already available. It is a problem that on unloading a specific kernel module some memory is leaked, but loading kernel modules is a privileged operation. A user could also write a kernel module to consume any amount of memory they like and load that replicating the effect of this bug

HV: hv_balloon: fix memory leak with using debugfs_lookup()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HV: hv_balloon: fix memory leak with using debugfs_lookup() When calling debugfs_lookup() the result must have dput() called on it, otherwise the memory will leak over time. To make things simpler, just call debugfs_lookup_and_remove() instead which handles all of the logic at once.
