Openshift-console: openshift console: path traversal

A flaw was found in the OpenShift Console, an endpoint for plugins to serve resources in multiple languages: /locales/resources.json. This endpoint's lng and ns parameters are used to construct a filepath in pkg/plugins/handlers unsafely.go#L112 Because of this unsafe filepath construction, an authenticated user can manipulate the path to retrieve any JSON files on the console's pod by using sequences of ../ and valid directory paths.

Keycloak-rhel9: organization data leak after feature disabled in keycloak

A flaw was found in Keycloak. An authenticated user with existing organization membership can exploit this flaw by accessing user-facing APIs, such as the account API or by requesting an OpenID Connect (OIDC) token with the 'organization' scope. This allows organization metadata to be disclosed in tokens, even after an administrator has explicitly disabled the Organizations feature, potentially leading to incorrect authorization decisions by resource servers.

Foreman: foreman: information disclosure via improper validation of nested request parameters

A flaw was found in Foreman. An authenticated user with host-edit permissions could exploit a cross-tenant information disclosure vulnerability. This flaw occurs because the taxonomy_scope controller method does not properly validate organization and location IDs from nested request parameters, bypassing existing authorization checks. This allows the user to leak sensitive infrastructure metadata, including subnet topology, IP ranges, gateways, DNS servers, and VLAN IDs, from organizations and locations they are not authorized to access.

Openshift-controller-manager: openshift container platform: information disclosure via environment variable injection

A flaw was found in the OpenShift Container Platform build system. A user with the `edit` ClusterRole can inject arbitrary environment variables, such as `LD_PRELOAD` or `http_proxy`, into `docker-build` containers through the `buildconfigs/instantiate` API. This incomplete fix for a previous vulnerability allows for information disclosure, specifically impacting the confidentiality of build traffic.

Kernel: nvme: info leak due to out-of-bounds read in nvmet_ctrl_find_get

An out-of-bounds read vulnerability was found in the NVMe-oF/TCP subsystem in the Linux kernel. This issue may allow a remote attacker to send a crafted TCP packet, triggering a heap-based buffer overflow that results in kmalloc data being printed and potentially leaked to the kernel ring buffer (dmesg).

Tempo-operator: serviceaccount token exposure leading to token and subject access reviews in openshift tempo operator

A flaw was found in Tempo Operator, where it creates a ServiceAccount, ClusterRole, and ClusterRoleBinding when a user deploys a TempoStack or TempoMonolithic instance. This flaw allows a user with full access to their namespace to extract the ServiceAccount token and use it to submit TokenReview and SubjectAccessReview requests, potentially revealing information about other users' permissions. While this does not allow privilege escalation or impersonation, it exposes information that could aid in gathering information for further attacks.

Tempo-operator: tempo operator token exposition lead to read sensitive data

A flaw was found in the Tempo Operator. When the Jaeger UI Monitor Tab functionality is enabled in a Tempo instance managed by the Tempo Operator, the Operator creates a ClusterRoleBinding for the Service Account of the Tempo instance to grant the cluster-monitoring-view ClusterRole. This can be exploited if a user has 'create' permissions on TempoStack and 'get' permissions on Secret in a namespace (for example, a user has ClusterAdmin permissions for a specific namespace), as the user can read the token of the Tempo service account and therefore has access to see all cluster metrics.

Keycloak-services: keycloak-services: realm default-group reads disclose hidden groups under fgap v2

A flaw was found in the default-groups REST endpoint and realm representation of Keycloak. This component is responsible for managing groups that are automatically assigned to new users within a realm. The issue allows a delegated administrator with realm-viewing permissions to see the names and identifiers of hidden default groups, even if they lack the specific permissions to view those groups. Keycloak-services: keycloak: fgap v2 parent group children endpoint bypasses per-child view permission filter

A flaw was found in the Fine-Grained Admin Permissions (FGAP) v2 implementation within Keycloak's administrative services. When FGAP v2 is enabled, the system fails to properly filter child groups based on the caller's specific permissions when requested through a parent group. Keycloak-services: keycloak-services: authenticator config endpoint exposes raw recaptcha secrets to view-only admins

A flaw was found in the authentication configuration endpoint of the keycloak-services component, which is the core engine for Red Hat Build of Keycloak identity and access management. A vulnerability was discovered in Keycloak's Admin UI extension that allows certain administrative users to bypass security restrictions. When Fine-Grained Admin Permissions (FGAPv2) are enabled, an administrator who should only be able to search for users (but not view their full details) can use a specific "brute-force-user" endpoint to access a user's full profile. A flaw was found in Keycloak. The User-Managed Access (UMA) 2.0 Protection API endpoint for permission tickets fails to enforce the `uma_protection` role check. This allows any authenticated user with a token issued for a resource server client, even without the `uma_protection` role, to enumerate all permission tickets in the system. This vulnerability partial leads to information disclosure.

A flaw was found in the group search functionality of the Keycloak server's administrative API. When Fine-Grained Admin Permissions (FGAP) v2 is enabled, a delegated administrator can bypass access restrictions to view parent groups they are not authorized to see. By searching for a child group they have permission to view, the system incorrectly returns the full details of the parent group in the response, leading to the disclosure of sensitive group attributes and configuration.

Keycloak-services: keycloak-services: keycloak: fgap v2 role groups endpoint discloses hidden group metadata without group view permission

A vulnerability was discovered in Keycloak's administrative interface that allows certain administrators to see information about groups they shouldn't have access to. When the new Fine-Grained Admin Permissions (FGAP v2) are turned on, an administrator who is allowed to see a specific "role" can also see a list of all groups assigned to that role. The system fails to check if the administrator has permission to see those specific groups. This could allow a restricted administrator to discover "hidden" groups and see their details, such as internal names and custom settings, which might contain sensitive deployment information.

fast-uri vulnerable to path traversal via percent-encoded dot segments

fast-uri decoded percent-encoded path separators and dot segments before applying dot-segment removal in its normalize() and equal() functions. Encoded path data was treated like real slashes and parent-directory references, so distinct URIs could collapse onto the same normalized path. Applications that normalize or compare attacker-controlled URLs to enforce path-based policy can be bypassed, with a path that appears confined under an allowed prefix normalizing to a different location. Traefik StripPrefix Route-Level Auth Bypass via Path Normalization

Traefik is an HTTP reverse proxy and load balancer. Prior to 2.11.48, 3.6.19, and 3.7.3, there is a high severity vulnerability in Traefik's StripPrefix middleware that allows an unauthenticated attacker to bypass route-level authentication and authorization. When a public router matches on a PathPrefix rule and applies the StripPrefix middleware, a request path containing .. or its percent-encoded form %2e%2e can match the public route at routing time and then, after the prefix is stripped and the path is normalized, resolve to a path served by a separate, authenticated router. As a result, an attacker can reach protected backend paths — such as admin or internal configuration endpoints — without satisfying the authentication middleware attached to the protected router. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.11.48, 3.6.19, and 3.7.3.

Podman: buildah: cri-o: symlink traversal vulnerability in the containers/storage library can cause denial of service (dos)

A vulnerability was found in Podman, Buildah, and CRI-O. A symlink traversal vulnerability in the containers/storage library can cause Podman, Buildah, and CRI-O to hang and result in a denial of service via OOM kill when running a malicious image using an automatically assigned user namespace (`--userns=auto` in Podman and Buildah). The containers/storage library will read /etc/passwd inside the container, but does not properly validate if that file is a symlink, which can be used to cause the library to read an arbitrary file on the host.

React Router has Path Traversal in File Session Storage

React Router is a router for React. In @react-router/node versions 7.0.0 through 7.9.3, @remix-run/deno prior to version 2.17.2, and @remix-run/node prior to version 2.17.2, if createFileSessionStorage() is being used from @react-router/node (or @remix-run/node/@remix-run/deno in Remix v2) with an unsigned cookie, it is possible for an attacker to cause the session to try to read/write from a location outside the specified session file directory. The success of the attack would depend on the permissions of the web server process to access those files. Read files cannot be returned directly to the attacker. Session file reads would only succeed if the file matched the expected session file format. If the file matched the session file format, the data would be populated into the server side session but not directly returned to the attacker unless the application logic returned specific session information. This issue has been patched in @react-router/node version 7.9.4, @remix-run/deno version 2.17.2, and @remix-run/node version 2.17.2.

Ansible-lightspeed: ansible lightspeed mcp server: remote code execution and data exfiltration via path traversal

A flaw was found in the Ansible Lightspeed Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. This vulnerability, known as path traversal, allows an attacker to manipulate an AI agent through indirect prompt injection. By doing so, the attacker can cause the server to write files to unauthorized locations on the user's system. This can result in the exposure of sensitive host information and enable the attacker to execute malicious commands, potentially leading to a full system compromise.

Spice-vdagent: path traversal in file transfer via unsanitized filename

A path traversal vulnerability was found in spice-vdagent. This flaw allows a malicious or compromised SPICE host to write arbitrary files to any location on the guest operating system. This occurs because the filename provided by the SPICE host during file transfers is not properly sanitized before being used. An attacker could exploit this to write to sensitive locations with the privileges of the spice-vdagent process, typically the logged-in user. This issue requires the SPICE host to be untrusted or compromised for exploitation.

Helm has a path traversal in plugin metadata version enables arbitrary file write outside Helm plugin directory

Helm is a package manager for Charts for Kubernetes. From 4.0.0 to 4.1.3, a specially crafted Helm plugin, when installed or updated, will cause Helm to write the contents of the plugin to an arbitrary filesystem location. To prevent this, validate that the plugin.yaml of the Helm plugin does not include a version: field containing POSIX dot-dot path separators ie. "/../". This vulnerability is fixed in 4.1.4.

Ray Dashboard <= 2.8.0 Path Traversal Leading to Local File Disclosure

A path traversal vulnerability was identified in Ray Dashboard (default port 8265) in Ray versions prior to 2.8.1. Due to improper validation and sanitization of user-supplied paths in the static file handling mechanism, an attacker can use traversal sequences (e.g., ../) to access files outside the intended static directory, resulting in local file disclosure.

NLTK: URL-Encoded Path Traversal in nltk.data.load() Allows Arbitrary Local File Read

NLTK (Natural Language Toolkit) is a suite of open source Python modules, data sets, and tutorials supporting research and development in Natural Language Processing. Prior to 3.10.0-rc1, nltk.data.load() in NLTK is vulnerable to path traversal via URL-encoded path separators and traversal segments when using the nltk: URL scheme. The unsafe-path regex check is performed before url2pathname() decodes the %xx sequences (a classic decode-after-check / TOCTOU-style flaw), allowing an attacker to bypass the protection documented in NLTK's SECURITY.md and read arbitrary files from the filesystem. While literal traversal strings such as ../../../etc/passwd are correctly blocked, encoded variants such as %2fetc%2fpasswd, %2e%2e%2f..., and ..%2f..%2f slip past the regex and are subsequently decoded into a real filesystem path. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.10.0-rc1.
