slab: ensure slab->obj_exts is clear in a newly allocated slab page

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: slab: ensure slab->obj_exts is clear in a newly allocated slab page ktest recently reported crashes while running several buffered io tests with __alloc_tagging_slab_alloc_hook() at the top of the crash call stack. The signature indicates an invalid address dereference with low bits of slab->obj_exts being set. The bits were outside of the range used by page_memcg_data_flags and objext_flags and hence were not masked out by slab_obj_exts() when obtaining the pointer stored in slab->obj_exts. The typical crash log looks like this: 00510 Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0000000000000010 00510 Mem abort info: 00510 ESR = 0x0000000096000045 00510 EC = 0x25: DABT (current EL), IL = 32 bits 00510 SET = 0, FnV = 0 00510 EA = 0, S1PTW = 0 00510 FSC = 0x05: level 1 translation fault 00510 Data abort info: 00510 ISV = 0, ISS = 0x00000045, ISS2 = 0x00000000 00510 CM = 0, WnR = 1, TnD = 0, TagAccess = 0 00510 GCS = 0, Overlay = 0, DirtyBit = 0, Xs = 0 00510 user pgtable: 4k pages, 39-bit VAs, pgdp=0000000104175000 00510 [0000000000000010] pgd=0000000000000000, p4d=0000000000000000, pud=0000000000000000 00510 Internal error: Oops: 0000000096000045 [#1] SMP 00510 Modules linked in: 00510 CPU: 10 UID: 0 PID: 7692 Comm: cat Not tainted 6.15.0-rc1-ktest-g189e17946605 #19327 NONE 00510 Hardware name: linux,dummy-virt (DT) 00510 pstate: 20001005 (nzCv daif -PAN -UAO -TCO -DIT +SSBS BTYPE=--) 00510 pc : __alloc_tagging_slab_alloc_hook+0xe0/0x190 00510 lr : __kmalloc_noprof+0x150/0x310 00510 sp : ffffff80c87df6c0 00510 x29: ffffff80c87df6c0 x28: 000000000013d1ff x27: 000000000013d200 00510 x26: ffffff80c87df9e0 x25: 0000000000000000 x24: 0000000000000001 00510 x23: ffffffc08041953c x22: 000000000000004c x21: ffffff80c0002180 00510 x20: fffffffec3120840 x19: ffffff80c4821000 x18: 0000000000000000 00510 x17: fffffffec3d02f00 x16: fffffffec3d02e00 x15: fffffffec3d00700 00510 x14: fffffffec3d00600 x13: 0000000000000200 x12: 0000000000000006 00510 x11: ffffffc080bb86c0 x10: 0000000000000000 x9 : ffffffc080201e58 00510 x8 : ffffff80c4821060 x7 : 0000000000000000 x6 : 0000000055555556 00510 x5 : 0000000000000001 x4 : 0000000000000010 x3 : 0000000000000060 00510 x2 : 0000000000000000 x1 : ffffffc080f50cf8 x0 : ffffff80d801d000 00510 Call trace: 00510 __alloc_tagging_slab_alloc_hook+0xe0/0x190 (P) 00510 __kmalloc_noprof+0x150/0x310 00510 __bch2_folio_create+0x5c/0xf8 00510 bch2_folio_create+0x2c/0x40 00510 bch2_readahead+0xc0/0x460 00510 read_pages+0x7c/0x230 00510 page_cache_ra_order+0x244/0x3a8 00510 page_cache_async_ra+0x124/0x170 00510 filemap_readahead.isra.0+0x58/0xa0 00510 filemap_get_pages+0x454/0x7b0 00510 filemap_read+0xdc/0x418 00510 bch2_read_iter+0x100/0x1b0 00510 vfs_read+0x214/0x300 00510 ksys_read+0x6c/0x108 00510 __arm64_sys_read+0x20/0x30 00510 invoke_syscall.constprop.0+0x54/0xe8 00510 do_el0_svc+0x44/0xc8 00510 el0_svc+0x18/0x58 00510 el0t_64_sync_handler+0x104/0x130 00510 el0t_64_sync+0x154/0x158 00510 Code: d5384100 f9401c01 b9401aa3 b40002e1 (f8227881) 00510 ---[ end trace 0000000000000000 ]--- 00510 Kernel panic - not syncing: Oops: Fatal exception 00510 SMP: stopping secondary CPUs 00510 Kernel Offset: disabled 00510 CPU features: 0x0000,000000e0,00000410,8240500b 00510 Memory Limit: none Investigation indicates that these bits are already set when we allocate slab page and are not zeroed out after allocation. arm64: Don't call NULL in do_compat_alignment_fixup()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: arm64: Don't call NULL in do_compat_alignment_fixup() do_alignment_t32_to_handler() only fixes up alignment faults for specific instructions; it returns NULL otherwise (e.g. LDREX). When that's the case, signal to the caller that it needs to proceed with the regular alignment fault handling (i.e. SIGBUS). net/sched: sch_qfq: Fix NULL deref when deactivating inactive aggregate in qfq_reset

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/sched: sch_qfq: Fix NULL deref when deactivating inactive aggregate in qfq_reset `qfq_class->leaf_qdisc->q.qlen > 0` does not imply that the class itself is active. Two qfq_class objects may point to the same leaf_qdisc. This happens when: 1. one QFQ qdisc is attached to the dev as the root qdisc, and 2. another QFQ qdisc is temporarily referenced (e.g., via qdisc_get() / qdisc_put()) and is pending to be destroyed, as in function tc_new_tfilter. When packets are enqueued through the root QFQ qdisc, the shared leaf_qdisc->q.qlen increases. At the same time, the second QFQ qdisc triggers qdisc_put and qdisc_destroy: the qdisc enters qfq_reset() with its own q->q.qlen == 0, but its class's leaf qdisc->q.qlen > 0. Therefore, the qfq_reset would wrongly deactivate an inactive aggregate and trigger a null-deref in qfq_deactivate_agg: [ 0.903172] BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000000 [ 0.903571] #PF: supervisor write access in kernel mode [ 0.903860] #PF: error_code(0x0002) - not-present page [ 0.904177] PGD 10299b067 P4D 10299b067 PUD 10299c067 PMD 0 [ 0.904502] Oops: Oops: 0002 [#1] SMP NOPTI [ 0.904737] CPU: 0 UID: 0 PID: 135 Comm: exploit Not tainted 6.19.0-rc3+ #2 NONE [ 0.905157] Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS rel-1.17.0-0-gb52ca86e094d-prebuilt.qemu.org 04/01/2014 [ 0.905754] RIP: 0010:qfq_deactivate_agg (include/linux/list.h:992 (discriminator 2) include/linux/list.h:1006 (discriminator 2) net/sched/sch_qfq.c:1367 (discriminator 2) net/sched/sch_qfq.c:1393 (discriminator 2)) [ 0.906046] Code: 0f 84 4d 01 00 00 48 89 70 18 8b 4b 10 48 c7 c2 ff ff ff ff 48 8b 78 08 48 d3 e2 48 21 f2 48 2b 13 48 8b 30 48 d3 ea 8b 4b 18 0 Code starting with the faulting instruction =========================================== 0: 0f 84 4d 01 00 00 je 0x153 6: 48 89 70 18 mov %rsi,0x18(%rax) a: 8b 4b 10 mov 0x10(%rbx),%ecx d: 48 c7 c2 ff ff ff ff mov $0xffffffffffffffff,%rdx 14: 48 8b 78 08 mov 0x8(%rax),%rdi 18: 48 d3 e2 shl %cl,%rdx 1b: 48 21 f2 and %rsi,%rdx 1e: 48 2b 13 sub (%rbx),%rdx 21: 48 8b 30 mov (%rax),%rsi 24: 48 d3 ea shr %cl,%rdx 27: 8b 4b 18 mov 0x18(%rbx),%ecx ... RDMA/mlx5: Move events notifier registration to be after device registration

iommu/s390: Implement blocking domain

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/s390: Implement blocking domain This fixes a crash when surprise hot-unplugging a PCI device. This crash happens because during hot-unplug __iommu_group_set_domain_nofail() attaching the default domain fails when the platform no longer recognizes the device as it has already been removed and we end up with a NULL domain pointer and UAF. This is exactly the case referred to in the second comment in __iommu_device_set_domain() and just as stated there if we can instead attach the blocking domain the UAF is prevented as this can handle the already removed device. Implement the blocking domain to use this handling. With this change, the crash is fixed but we still hit a warning attempting to change DMA ownership on a blocked device.

idpf: Fix RSS LUT NULL ptr issue after soft reset

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: idpf: Fix RSS LUT NULL ptr issue after soft reset During soft reset, the RSS LUT is freed and not restored unless the interface is up. If an ethtool command that accesses the rss lut is attempted immediately after reset, it will result in NULL ptr dereference. Also, there is no need to reset the rss lut if the soft reset does not involve queue count change. After soft reset, set the RSS LUT to default values based on the updated queue count only if the reset was a result of a queue count change and the LUT was not configured by the user. In all other cases, don't touch the LUT. Steps to reproduce: ** Bring the interface down (if up) ifconfig eth1 down ** update the queue count (eg., 27->20) ethtool -L eth1 combined 20 ** display the RSS LUT ethtool -x eth1 [82375.558338] BUG: kernel NULL pointer dereference, address: 0000000000000000 [82375.558373] #PF: supervisor read access in kernel mode [82375.558391] #PF: error_code(0x0000) - not-present page [82375.558408] PGD 0 P4D 0 [82375.558421] Oops: Oops: 0000 [#1] SMP NOPTI <snip> [82375.558516] RIP: 0010:idpf_get_rxfh+0x108/0x150 [idpf] [82375.558786] Call Trace: [82375.558793] <TASK> [82375.558804] rss_prepare.isra.0+0x187/0x2a0 [82375.558827] rss_prepare_data+0x3a/0x50 [82375.558845] ethnl_default_doit+0x13d/0x3e0 [82375.558863] genl_family_rcv_msg_doit+0x11f/0x180 [82375.558886] genl_rcv_msg+0x1ad/0x2b0 [82375.558902] ? __pfx_ethnl_default_doit+0x10/0x10 [82375.558920] ? __pfx_genl_rcv_msg+0x10/0x10 [82375.558937] netlink_rcv_skb+0x58/0x100 [82375.558957] genl_rcv+0x2c/0x50 [82375.558971] netlink_unicast+0x289/0x3e0 [82375.558988] netlink_sendmsg+0x215/0x440 [82375.559005] __sys_sendto+0x234/0x240 [82375.559555] __x64_sys_sendto+0x28/0x30 [82375.560068] x64_sys_call+0x1909/0x1da0 [82375.560576] do_syscall_64+0x7a/0xfa0 [82375.561076] ? clear_bhb_loop+0x60/0xb0 [82375.561567] entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x76/0x7e <snip>

clk: qcom: ipq8074: fix PCI-E clock oops

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: clk: qcom: ipq8074: fix PCI-E clock oops Fix PCI-E clock related kernel oops that are caused by a missing clock parent. pcie0_rchng_clk_src has num_parents set to 2 but only one parent is actually set via parent_hws, it should also have "XO" defined. This will cause the kernel to panic on a NULL pointer in clk_core_get_parent_by_index(). So, to fix this utilize clk_parent_data to provide gcc_xo_gpll0 parent data. Since there is already an existing static const char * const gcc_xo_gpll0[] used to provide the same parents via parent_names convert those users to clk_parent_data as well. Without this earlycon is needed to even catch the OOPS as it will reset the board before serial is initialized with the following: [ 0.232279] Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address 0000a00000000000 [ 0.232322] Mem abort info: [ 0.239094] ESR = 0x96000004 [ 0.241778] EC = 0x25: DABT (current EL), IL = 32 bits [ 0.244908] SET = 0, FnV = 0 [ 0.250377] EA = 0, S1PTW = 0 [ 0.253236] FSC = 0x04: level 0 translation fault [ 0.256277] Data abort info: [ 0.261141] ISV = 0, ISS = 0x00000004 [ 0.264262] CM = 0, WnR = 0 [ 0.267820] [0000a00000000000] address between user and kernel address ranges [ 0.270954] Internal error: Oops: 96000004 [#1] SMP [ 0.278067] Modules linked in: [ 0.282751] CPU: 1 PID: 1 Comm: swapper/0 Not tainted 5.15.10 #0 [ 0.285882] Hardware name: Xiaomi AX3600 (DT) [ 0.292043] pstate: 20400005 (nzCv daif +PAN -UAO -TCO -DIT -SSBS BTYPE=--) [ 0.296299] pc : clk_core_get_parent_by_index+0x68/0xec [ 0.303067] lr : __clk_register+0x1d8/0x820 [ 0.308273] sp : ffffffc01111b7d0 [ 0.312438] x29: ffffffc01111b7d0 x28: 0000000000000000 x27: 0000000000000040 [ 0.315919] x26: 0000000000000002 x25: 0000000000000000 x24: ffffff8000308800 [ 0.323037] x23: ffffff8000308850 x22: ffffff8000308880 x21: ffffff8000308828 [ 0.330155] x20: 0000000000000028 x19: ffffff8000309700 x18: 0000000000000020 [ 0.337272] x17: 000000005cc86990 x16: 0000000000000004 x15: ffffff80001d9d0a [ 0.344391] x14: 0000000000000000 x13: 0000000000000000 x12: 0000000000000006 [ 0.351508] x11: 0000000000000003 x10: 0101010101010101 x9 : 0000000000000000 [ 0.358626] x8 : 7f7f7f7f7f7f7f7f x7 : 6468626f5e626266 x6 : 17000a3a403c1b06 [ 0.365744] x5 : 061b3c403a0a0017 x4 : 0000000000000000 x3 : 0000000000000001 [ 0.372863] x2 : 0000a00000000000 x1 : 0000000000000001 x0 : ffffff8000309700 [ 0.379982] Call trace: [ 0.387091] clk_core_get_parent_by_index+0x68/0xec [ 0.389351] __clk_register+0x1d8/0x820 [ 0.394210] devm_clk_hw_register+0x5c/0xe0 [ 0.398030] devm_clk_register_regmap+0x44/0x8c [ 0.402198] qcom_cc_really_probe+0x17c/0x1d0 [ 0.406711] qcom_cc_probe+0x34/0x44 [ 0.411224] gcc_ipq8074_probe+0x18/0x30 [ 0.414869] platform_probe+0x68/0xe0 [ 0.418776] really_probe.part.0+0x9c/0x30c [ 0.422336] __driver_probe_device+0x98/0x144 [ 0.426329] driver_probe_device+0x44/0x11c [ 0.430842] __device_attach_driver+0xb4/0x120 [ 0.434836] bus_for_each_drv+0x68/0xb0 [ 0.439349] __device_attach+0xb0/0x170 [ 0.443081] device_initial_probe+0x14/0x20 [ 0.446901] bus_probe_device+0x9c/0xa4 [ 0.451067] device_add+0x35c/0x834 [ 0.454886] of_device_add+0x54/0x64 [ 0.458360] of_platform_device_create_pdata+0xc0/0x100 [ 0.462181] of_platform_bus_create+0x114/0x370 [ 0.467128] of_platform_bus_create+0x15c/0x370 [ 0.471641] of_platform_populate+0x50/0xcc [ 0.476155] of_platform_default_populate_init+0xa8/0xc8 [ 0.480324] do_one_initcall+0x50/0x1b0 [ 0.485877] kernel_init_freeable+0x234/0x29c [ 0.489436] kernel_init+0x24/0x120 [ 0.493948] ret_from_fork+0x10/0x20 [ 0.497253] Code: d50323bf d65f03c0 f94002a2 b4000302 (f9400042) [ 0.501079] ---[ end trace 4ca7e1129da2abce ]---

net/rds: fix possible cp null dereference

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/rds: fix possible cp null dereference cp might be null, calling cp->cp_conn would produce null dereference [Simon Horman adds:] Analysis: * cp is a parameter of __rds_rdma_map and is not reassigned. * The following call-sites pass a NULL cp argument to __rds_rdma_map() - rds_get_mr() - rds_get_mr_for_dest * Prior to the code above, the following assumes that cp may be NULL (which is indicative, but could itself be unnecessary) trans_private = rs->rs_transport->get_mr( sg, nents, rs, &mr->r_key, cp ? cp->cp_conn : NULL, args->vec.addr, args->vec.bytes, need_odp ? ODP_ZEROBASED : ODP_NOT_NEEDED); * The code modified by this patch is guarded by IS_ERR(trans_private), where trans_private is assigned as per the previous point in this analysis. The only implementation of get_mr that I could locate is rds_ib_get_mr() which can return an ERR_PTR if the conn (4th) argument is NULL. * ret is set to PTR_ERR(trans_private). rds_ib_get_mr can return ERR_PTR(-ENODEV) if the conn (4th) argument is NULL. Thus ret may be -ENODEV in which case the code in question will execute. Conclusion: * cp may be NULL at the point where this patch adds a check; this patch does seem to address a possible bug

ipv6: prevent NULL dereference in ip6_output()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipv6: prevent NULL dereference in ip6_output() According to syzbot, there is a chance that ip6_dst_idev() returns NULL in ip6_output(). net: phy: fix phy_get_internal_delay accessing an empty array

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: phy: fix phy_get_internal_delay accessing an empty array The phy_get_internal_delay function could try to access to an empty array in the case that the driver is calling phy_get_internal_delay without defining delay_values and rx-internal-delay-ps or tx-internal-delay-ps is defined to 0 in the device-tree. This will lead to "unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0". To avoid this kernel oops, the test should be delay >= 0. As there is already delay < 0 test just before, the test could only be size == 0.

serial: rp2: use 'request_firmware' instead of 'request_firmware_nowait'

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial: rp2: use 'request_firmware' instead of 'request_firmware_nowait' In 'rp2_probe', the driver registers 'rp2_uart_interrupt' then calls 'rp2_fw_cb' through 'request_firmware_nowait'. In 'rp2_fw_cb', if the firmware don't exists, function just return without initializing ports of 'rp2_card'. But now the interrupt handler function has been registered, and when an interrupt comes, 'rp2_uart_interrupt' may access those ports then causing NULL pointer dereference or other bugs. Because the driver does some initialization work in 'rp2_fw_cb', in order to make the driver ready to handle interrupts, 'request_firmware' should be used instead of asynchronous 'request_firmware_nowait'. This report reveals it: INFO: trying to register non-static key. the code is fine but needs lockdep annotation. turning off the locking correctness validator. drm/amd/display: Fix null check for pipe_ctx->plane_state in dcn20_program_pipe

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/amd/display: Fix null check for pipe_ctx->plane_state in dcn20_program_pipe This commit addresses a null pointer dereference issue in dcn20_program_pipe(). Previously, commit 8e4ed3cf1642 ("drm/amd/display: Add null check for pipe_ctx->plane_state in dcn20_program_pipe") partially fixed the null pointer dereference issue. However, in dcn20_update_dchubp_dpp(), the variable pipe_ctx is passed in, and plane_state is accessed again through pipe_ctx. Multiple if statements directly call attributes of plane_state, leading to potential null pointer dereference issues. This patch adds necessary null checks to ensure stability.

mm: fix NULL pointer dereference in alloc_pages_bulk_noprof

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm: fix NULL pointer dereference in alloc_pages_bulk_noprof We triggered a NULL pointer dereference for ac.preferred_zoneref->zone in alloc_pages_bulk_noprof() when the task is migrated between cpusets. When cpuset is enabled, in prepare_alloc_pages(), ac->nodemask may be &current->mems_allowed. when first_zones_zonelist() is called to find preferred_zoneref, the ac->nodemask may be modified concurrently if the task is migrated between different cpusets. Assuming we have 2 NUMA Node, when traversing Node1 in ac->zonelist, the nodemask is 2, and when traversing Node2 in ac->zonelist, the nodemask is 1. As a result, the ac->preferred_zoneref points to NULL zone. In alloc_pages_bulk_noprof(), for_each_zone_zonelist_nodemask() finds a allowable zone and calls zonelist_node_idx(ac.preferred_zoneref), leading to NULL pointer dereference. __alloc_pages_noprof() fixes this issue by checking NULL pointer in commit ea57485af8f4 ("mm, page_alloc: fix check for NULL preferred_zone") and commit df76cee6bbeb ("mm, page_alloc: remove redundant checks from alloc fastpath"). To fix it, check NULL pointer for preferred_zoneref->zone.

Kernel: ipv4: null pointer dereference in ipv4_send_dest_unreach()

A NULL pointer dereference flaw was found in the Linux kernel ipv4 stack. The socket buffer (skb) was assumed to be associated with a device before calling __ip_options_compile, which is not always the case if the skb is re-routed by ipvs. This issue may allow a local user with CAP_NET_ADMIN privileges to crash the system.

media: v4l: async: Fix notifier list entry init

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: v4l: async: Fix notifier list entry init struct v4l2_async_notifier has several list_head members, but only waiting_list and done_list are initialized. notifier_entry was kept 'zeroed' leading to an uninitialized list_head. This results in a NULL-pointer dereference if csi2_async_register() fails, e.g. node for remote endpoint is disabled, and returns -ENOTCONN. The following calls to v4l2_async_nf_unregister() results in a NULL pointer dereference. Add the missing list head initializer.

ARM: 9170/1: fix panic when kasan and kprobe are enabled

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ARM: 9170/1: fix panic when kasan and kprobe are enabled arm32 uses software to simulate the instruction replaced by kprobe. some instructions may be simulated by constructing assembly functions. therefore, before executing instruction simulation, it is necessary to construct assembly function execution environment in C language through binding registers. after kasan is enabled, the register binding relationship will be destroyed, resulting in instruction simulation errors and causing kernel panic. the kprobe emulate instruction function is distributed in three files: actions-common.c actions-arm.c actions-thumb.c, so disable KASAN when compiling these files. for example, use kprobe insert on cap_capable+20 after kasan enabled, the cap_capable assembly code is as follows: <cap_capable>: e92d47f0 push {r4, r5, r6, r7, r8, r9, sl, lr} e1a05000 mov r5, r0 e280006c add r0, r0, #108 ; 0x6c e1a04001 mov r4, r1 e1a06002 mov r6, r2 e59fa090 ldr sl, [pc, #144] ; ebfc7bf8 bl c03aa4b4 <__asan_load4> e595706c ldr r7, [r5, #108] ; 0x6c e2859014 add r9, r5, #20 ...... apparmor: avoid crash when parsed profile name is empty

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: apparmor: avoid crash when parsed profile name is empty When processing a packed profile in unpack_profile() described like "profile :ns::samba-dcerpcd /usr/lib*/samba/{,samba/}samba-dcerpcd {...}" a string ":samba-dcerpcd" is unpacked as a fully-qualified name and then passed to aa_splitn_fqname(). aa_splitn_fqname() treats ":samba-dcerpcd" as only containing a namespace. Thus it returns NULL for tmpname, meanwhile tmpns is non-NULL. Later aa_alloc_profile() crashes as the new profile name is NULL now. general protection fault, probably for non-canonical address 0xdffffc0000000000: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP KASAN NOPTI KASAN: null-ptr-deref in range [0x0000000000000000-0x0000000000000007] CPU: 6 PID: 1657 Comm: apparmor_parser Not tainted 6.7.0-rc2-dirty #16 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS rel-1.16.2-3-gd478f380-rebuilt.opensuse.org 04/01/2014 RIP: 0010:strlen+0x1e/0xa0 Call Trace: <TASK> ? strlen+0x1e/0xa0 aa_policy_init+0x1bb/0x230 aa_alloc_profile+0xb1/0x480 unpack_profile+0x3bc/0x4960 aa_unpack+0x309/0x15e0 aa_replace_profiles+0x213/0x33c0 policy_update+0x261/0x370 profile_replace+0x20e/0x2a0 vfs_write+0x2af/0xe00 ksys_write+0x126/0x250 do_syscall_64+0x46/0xf0 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x6e/0x76 </TASK> ---[ end trace 0000000000000000 ]--- RIP: 0010:strlen+0x1e/0xa0 It seems such behaviour of aa_splitn_fqname() is expected and checked in other places where it is called (e.g. aa_remove_profiles). iio: light: veml6030: fix IIO device retrieval from embedded device

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iio: light: veml6030: fix IIO device retrieval from embedded device The dev pointer that is received as an argument in the in_illuminance_period_available_show function references the device embedded in the IIO device, not in the i2c client. dev_to_iio_dev() must be used to accessthe right data. The current implementation leads to a segmentation fault on every attempt to read the attribute because indio_dev gets a NULL assignment. This bug has been present since the first appearance of the driver, apparently since the last version (V6) before getting applied. A constant attribute was used until then, and the last modifications might have not been tested again.

Bluetooth: hci: fix null-ptr-deref in hci_read_supported_codecs

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci: fix null-ptr-deref in hci_read_supported_codecs Fix __hci_cmd_sync_sk() to return not NULL for unknown opcodes. __hci_cmd_sync_sk() returns NULL if a command returns a status event. However, it also returns NULL where an opcode doesn't exist in the hci_cc table because hci_cmd_complete_evt() assumes status = skb->data[0] for unknown opcodes. This leads to null-ptr-deref in cmd_sync for HCI_OP_READ_LOCAL_CODECS as there is no hci_cc for HCI_OP_READ_LOCAL_CODECS, which always assumes status = skb->data[0]. phy: qcom: qmp-usb-legacy: fix NULL-deref on runtime suspend

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: phy: qcom: qmp-usb-legacy: fix NULL-deref on runtime suspend Commit 413db06c05e7 ("phy: qcom-qmp-usb: clean up probe initialisation") removed most users of the platform device driver data from the qcom-qmp-usb driver, but mistakenly also removed the initialisation despite the data still being used in the runtime PM callbacks. This bug was later reproduced when the driver was copied to create the qmp-usb-legacy driver. Restore the driver data initialisation at probe to avoid a NULL-pointer dereference on runtime suspend. Apparently no one uses runtime PM, which currently needs to be enabled manually through sysfs, with these drivers.

Normally this program will not cause kernel crashes. But before the munmap system call returns to user mode, a potential task_numa_work() for numa balancing could be added and executed. In this scenario, since the child process has no vma after munmap, the vma_next() in task_numa_work() will return a null pointer even if the vma iterator restarts from 0. Recheck the vma pointer before dereferencing it in task_numa_work().

octeon_ep: Add SKB allocation failures handling in __octep_oq_process_rx()

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: octeon_ep: Add SKB allocation failures handling in __octep_oq_process_rx() build_skb() returns NULL in case of a memory allocation failure so handle it inside __octep_oq_process_rx() to avoid NULL pointer dereference. __octep_oq_process_rx() is called during NAPI polling by the driver. If skb allocation fails, keep on pulling packets out of the Rx DMA queue: we shouldn't break the polling immediately and thus falsely indicate to the octep_napi_poll() that the Rx pressure is going down. As there is no associated skb in this case, don't process the packets and don't push them up the network stack - they are skipped. Helper function is implemented to unmmap/flush all the fragment buffers used by the dropped packet. 'alloc_failures' counter is incremented to mark the skb allocation error in driver statistics. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.
