xfrm: interface: fix use-after-free after changing collect_md xfrm interface

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: interface: fix use-after-free after changing collect_md xfrm interface collect_md property on xfrm interfaces can only be set on device creation, thus xfrmi_changelink() should fail when called on such interfaces. The check to enforce this was done only in the case where the xi was returned from xfrmi_locate() which doesn't look for the collect_md interface, and thus the validation was never reached. Calling changelink would thus errornously place the special interface xi in the xfrmi_net->xfrmi hash, but since it also exists in the xfrmi_net->collect_md_xfrmi pointer it would lead to a double free when the net namespace was taken down [1]. Change the check to use the xi from netdev_priv which is available earlier in the function to prevent changes in xfrm collect_md interfaces. A use-after-free flaw was found in smb2_is_status_io_timeout() in CIFS in the Linux Kernel. Similarly to the previous known CVE-2023-25012, but in asus devices, the work_struct may be scheduled by the LED controller while the device is disconnecting, triggering a use-after-free on the struct asus_kbd_leds *led structure. A malicious USB device may exploit the issue to cause memory corruption with controlled data.

qlcnic: prevent ->dcb use-after-free on qlcnic_dcb_enable() failure

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: qlcnic: prevent ->dcb use-after-free on qlcnic_dcb_enable() failure adapter->dcb would get silently freed inside qlcnic_dcb_enable() in case qlcnic_dcb_attach() would return an error, which always happens under OOM conditions. This would lead to use-after-free because both of the existing callers invoke qlcnic_dcb_get_info() on the obtained pointer, which is potentially freed at that point. Propagate errors from qlcnic_dcb_enable(), and instead free the dcb pointer at callsite using qlcnic_dcb_free(). This also removes the now unused qlcnic_clear_dcb_ops() helper, which was a simple wrapper around kfree() also causing memory leaks for partially initialized dcb. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with the SVACE static analysis tool.

dm thin: fix use-after-free crash in dm_sm_register_threshold_callback

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dm thin: fix use-after-free crash in dm_sm_register_threshold_callback Fault inject on pool metadata device reports: BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in dm_pool_register_metadata_threshold+0x40/0x80 Read of size 8 at addr ffff8881b9d50068 by task dmsetup/950 CPU: 7 PID: 950 Comm: dmsetup Tainted: G W 5.19.0-rc6 #1 Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS 1.14.0-1.fc33 04/01/2014 Call Trace: <TASK> dump_stack_lvl+0x34/0x44 print_address_description.constprop.0.cold+0xeb/0x3f4 kasan_report.cold+0xe6/0x147 dm_pool_register_metadata_threshold+0x40/0x80 pool_ctr+0xa0a/0x1150 dm_table_add_target+0x2c8/0x640 table_load+0x1fd/0x430 ctl_ioctl+0x2c4/0x5a0 dm_ctl_ioctl+0xa/0x10 __x64_sys_ioctl+0xb3/0xd0 do_syscall_64+0x35/0x80 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x46/0xb0 This can be easily reproduced using: echo offline > /sys/block/sda/device/state dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/mapper/thin bs=4k count=10 dmsetup load pool --table "0 20971520 thin-pool /dev/sda /dev/sdb 128 0 0" If a metadata commit fails, the transaction will be aborted and the metadata space maps will be destroyed. If a DM table reload then happens for this failed thin-pool, a use-after-free will occur in dm_sm_register_threshold_callback (called from dm_pool_register_metadata_threshold). Fix this by in dm_pool_register_metadata_threshold() by returning the -EINVAL error if the thin-pool is in fail mode. Also fail pool_ctr() with a new error message: "Error registering metadata threshold".

ieee802154/adf7242: defer destroy_workqueue call

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ieee802154/adf7242: defer destroy_workqueue call There is a possible race condition (use-after-free) like below (FREE) | (USE) adf7242_remove | adf7242_channel cancel_delayed_work_sync | destroy_workqueue (1) | adf7242_cmd_rx | mod_delayed_work (2) | The root cause for this race is that the upper layer (ieee802154) is unaware of this detaching event and the function adf7242_channel can be called without any checks. To fix this, we can add a flag write at the beginning of adf7242_remove and add flag check in adf7242_channel. Or we can just defer the destructive operation like other commit 3e0588c291d6 ("hamradio: defer ax25 kfree after unregister_netdev") which let the ieee802154_unregister_hw() to handle the synchronization. This patch takes the second option. runs")

nvme: fix a possible use-after-free in controller reset during load

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvme: fix a possible use-after-free in controller reset during load Unlike .queue_rq, in .submit_async_event drivers may not check the ctrl readiness for AER submission. This may lead to a use-after-free condition that was observed with nvme-tcp. The race condition may happen in the following scenario: 1. driver executes its reset_ctrl_work 2. -> nvme_stop_ctrl - flushes ctrl async_event_work 3. ctrl sends AEN which is received by the host, which in turn schedules AEN handling 4. teardown admin queue (which releases the queue socket) 5. AEN processed, submits another AER, calling the driver to submit 6. driver attempts to send the cmd ==> use-after-free In order to fix that, add ctrl state check to validate the ctrl is actually able to accept the AER submission. This addresses the above race in controller resets because the driver during teardown should: 1. change ctrl state to RESETTING 2. flush async_event_work (as well as other async work elements) So after 1,2, any other AER command will find the ctrl state to be RESETTING and bail out without submitting the AER.
