VMware Aria Automation does not apply correct input validation which allows for SQL-injection in the product. An authenticated malicious user could enter specially crafted SQL queries and perform unauthorised read/write operations in the database.
The xfs implementation in the Linux kernel before 2.6.35 does not look up inode allocation btrees before reading inode buffers, which allows remote authenticated users to read unlinked files, or read or overwrite disk blocks that are currently assigned to an active file but were previously assigned to an unlinked file, by accessing a stale NFS filehandle.
Spring Data REST is vulnerable to SpEL expression injection through map-typed properties when processing JSON Patch (application/json-patch+json) requests. When a persistent entity exposes a Map-typed property, the JSON Pointer path segment used as the map key is embedded directly into a SpEL expression without sanitization or validation. Affected versions: Spring Data REST 3.7.0 through 3.7.19; 4.3.0 through 4.3.16; 4.4.0 through 4.4.14; 4.5.0 through 4.5.11; 5.0.0 through 5.0.5.
Vulnerability in Spring Spring Security. SubjectX500PrincipalExtractor does not correctly handle certain malformed X.509 certificate CN values, which can lead to reading the wrong value for the username. In a carefully crafted certificate, this can lead to an attacker impersonating another user. This issue affects Spring Security: from 7.0.0 through 7.0.4.
VMware SD-WAN Edge contains a missing authentication and protection mechanism vulnerability. A malicious actor with physical access to the SD-WAN Edge appliance during activation can potentially exploit this vulnerability to access the BIOS configuration. In addition, the malicious actor may be able to exploit the default boot priority configured.
A fully compromised ESXi host can force VMware Tools to fail to authenticate host-to-guest operations, impacting the confidentiality and integrity of the guest virtual machine.
Client Integration Plugin (CIP) in VMware vCenter Server 5.5 U3a, U3b, and U3c and 6.0 before U2; vCloud Director 5.5.5; and vRealize Automation Identity Appliance 6.2.4 before 6.2.4.1 mishandles session content, which allows remote attackers to hijack sessions via a crafted web site.
The ActiveDirectoryLdapAuthenticator in Spring Security 3.2.0 to 3.2.1 and 3.1.0 to 3.1.5 does not check the password length. If the directory allows anonymous binds then it may incorrectly authenticate a user who supplies an empty password.
VMware Workspace ONE Assist prior to 22.10 contains an Authentication Bypass vulnerability. A malicious actor with network access to Workspace ONE Assist may be able to obtain administrative access without the need to authenticate to the application.
Spring Security, versions 4.2.x up to 4.2.12, and older unsupported versions support plain text passwords using PlaintextPasswordEncoder. If an application using an affected version of Spring Security is leveraging PlaintextPasswordEncoder and a user has a null encoded password, a malicious user (or attacker) can authenticate using a password of "null".
Spring Cloud Config Server may not use Vault token sent by clients using a X-CONFIG-TOKEN header when making requests to Vault. Your application may be affected by this if the following are true: * You have Spring Vault on the classpath of your Spring Cloud Config Server and * You are using the X-CONFIG-TOKEN header to send a Vault token to the Spring Cloud Config Server for the Config Server to use when making requests to Vault and * You are using the default Spring Vault SessionManager implementation LifecycleAwareSessionManager or a SessionManager implementation that persists the Vault token such as SimpleSessionManager. In this case the SessionManager persists the first token it retrieves and will continue to use that token even if client requests to the Spring Cloud Config Server include a X-CONFIG-TOKEN header with a different value. Affected Spring Products and Versions Spring Cloud Config: * 2.2.1.RELEASE - 4.2.1 Mitigation Users of affected versions should upgrade to the corresponding fixed version. Affected version(s)Fix versionAvailability4.2.x4.2.2OSS4.1.x4.1.6OSS4.0.x4.0.10Commercial3.1.x3.1.10Commercial3.0.x4.1.6OSS2.2.x4.1.6OSS NOTE: Spring Cloud Config 3.0.x and 2.2.x are no longer under open source or commercial support. Users of these versions are encouraged to upgrade to a supported version. No other mitigation steps are necessary.
BCryptPasswordEncoder.matches(CharSequence,String) will incorrectly return true for passwords larger than 72 characters as long as the first 72 characters are the same.
VMware Horizon DaaS (7.x before 8.0.0) contains a broken authentication vulnerability that may allow an attacker to bypass two-factor authentication. Note: In order to exploit this issue, an attacker must have a legitimate account on Horizon DaaS.
When using the CAS Proxy ticket authentication from Spring Security 3.1 to 3.2.4 a malicious CAS Service could trick another CAS Service into authenticating a proxy ticket that was not associated. This is due to the fact that the proxy ticket authentication uses the information from the HttpServletRequest which is populated based upon untrusted information within the HTTP request. This means if there are access control restrictions on which CAS services can authenticate to one another, those restrictions can be bypassed. If users are not using CAS Proxy tickets and not basing access control decisions based upon the CAS Service, then there is no impact to users.
VMware vCenter Server 4.0 before Update 4b and 4.1 before Update 3a, VMware VirtualCenter 2.5, VMware vSphere Client 4.0 before Update 4b and 4.1 before Update 3a, VMware VI-Client 2.5, VMware ESXi 3.5 through 4.1, and VMware ESX 3.5 through 4.1 do not properly implement the management authentication protocol, which allow remote servers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via unspecified vectors.
The Update Installer in VMware ESXi 4.1, when a modified sfcb.cfg is present, does not properly configure the SFCB authentication mode, which allows remote attackers to obtain access via an arbitrary username and password.
com.springsource.tcserver.serviceability.rmi.JmxSocketListener in VMware SpringSource tc Server Runtime 6.0.19 and 6.0.20 before 6.0.20.D, and 6.0.25.A before 6.0.25.A-SR01, does not properly enforce the requirement for an encrypted (aka s2enc) password, which allows remote attackers to obtain JMX interface access via a blank password.
VMware Workspace ONE Assist prior to 22.10 contains a Broken Authentication Method vulnerability. A malicious actor with network access to Workspace ONE Assist may be able to obtain administrative access without the need to authenticate to the application.
Arbitrary Authentication Relay and Session Hijack vulnerabilities in the deprecated VMware Enhanced Authentication Plug-in (EAP) could allow a malicious actor that could trick a target domain user with EAP installed in their web browser into requesting and relaying service tickets for arbitrary Active Directory Service Principal Names (SPNs).
Spring LDAP's DirContextAuthenticationStrategy implementations do not reject a bind request where a non-empty username is paired with an empty or null password. Affected versions: Spring LDAP 2.4.0 through 2.4.4; 3.2.0 through 3.2.17; 3.3.0 through 3.3.7; 4.0.0 through 4.0.3.
X509AuthenticationProvider could issue a fully authenticated X509AuthenticationToken when a presented certificate mapped to UserDetails, without applying Spring Security's standard account lifecycle checks (disabled, locked, expired, or credentials-expired accounts). Affected versions: Spring Web Services 5.0.0 through 5.0.1; 4.1.0 through 4.1.3; 4.0.0 through 4.0.18; 3.1.0 through 3.1.8.
VMware Workspace ONE Access has two authentication bypass vulnerabilities (CVE-2022-22955 & CVE-2022-22956) in the OAuth2 ACS framework. A malicious actor may bypass the authentication mechanism and execute any operation due to exposed endpoints in the authentication framework.
VMware ESXi contains an authentication bypass vulnerability. A malicious actor with sufficient Active Directory (AD) permissions can gain full access to an ESXi host that was previously configured to use AD for user management https://blogs.vmware.com/vsphere/2012/09/joining-vsphere-hosts-to-active-directory.html by re-creating the configured AD group ('ESXi Admins' by default) after it was deleted from AD.
Missing Authorization When Using @AuthorizeReturnObject in Spring Security 6.3.0 and 6.3.1 allows attacker to render security annotations inaffective.
Single Sign-On for Vmware Tanzu all versions prior to 1.11.3 ,1.12.x versions prior to 1.12.4 and 1.13.x prior to 1.13.1 are vulnerable to user impersonation attack. If two users are logged in to the SSO operator dashboard at the same time, with the same username, from two different identity providers, one can acquire the token of the other and thus operate with their permissions. Note: Foundation may be vulnerable only if: 1) The system zone is set up to use a SAML identity provider 2) There are internal users that have the same username as users in the external SAML provider 3) Those duplicate-named users have the scope to access the SSO operator dashboard 4) The vulnerability doesn't appear with LDAP because of chained authentication.
VMware Carbon Black Cloud Workload appliance 1.0.0 and 1.01 has an authentication bypass vulnerability that may allow a malicious actor with network access to the administrative interface of the VMware Carbon Black Cloud Workload appliance to obtain a valid authentication token. Successful exploitation of this issue would result in the attacker being able to view and alter administrative configuration settings.
SFCB (Small Footprint CIM Broker) as used in ESXi has an authentication bypass vulnerability. A malicious actor with network access to port 5989 on ESXi may exploit this issue to bypass SFCB authentication by sending a specially crafted request.
VMware Carbon Black App Control 8.0, 8.1, 8.5 prior to 8.5.8, and 8.6 prior to 8.6.2 has an authentication bypass. A malicious actor with network access to the VMware Carbon Black App Control management server might be able to obtain administrative access to the product without the need to authenticate.
VMware Workspace ONE Access and Identity Manager, allow the /cfg web app and diagnostic endpoints, on port 8443, to be accessed via port 443 using a custom host header. A malicious actor with network access to port 443 could tamper with host headers to facilitate access to the /cfg web app, in addition a malicious actor could access /cfg diagnostic endpoints without authentication.
The vRealize Operations Manager API (8.x prior to 8.5) contains a broken access control vulnerability leading to unauthenticated API access. An unauthenticated malicious actor with network access to the vRealize Operations Manager API can add new nodes to existing vROps cluster.
vRealize Operations for Horizon Adapter (6.7.x prior to 6.7.1 and 6.6.x prior to 6.6.1) has an improper trust store configuration leading to authentication bypass. An unauthenticated remote attacker who has network access to vRealize Operations, with the Horizon Adapter running, may be able to bypass Adapter authentication.
VMware vFabric tc Server (aka SpringSource tc Server) 2.0.x before 2.0.6.RELEASE and 2.1.x before 2.1.2.RELEASE accepts obfuscated passwords during JMX authentication, which makes it easier for context-dependent attackers to obtain access by leveraging an ability to read stored passwords.
DataHub is an open-source metadata platform. When not using authentication for the metadata service, which is the default configuration, the Metadata service (GMS) will use the X-DataHub-Actor HTTP header to infer the user the frontend is sending the request on behalf of. When the backends retrieves the header, its name is retrieved in a case-insensitive way. This case differential can be abused by an attacker to smuggle an X-DataHub-Actor header with different casing (eg: X-DATAHUB-ACTOR). This issue may lead to an authorization bypass by allowing any user to impersonate the system user account and perform any actions on its behalf. This vulnerability was discovered and reported by the GitHub Security lab and is tracked as GHSL-2022-079.
n8n is an open source workflow automation platform. Prior to 2.27.4 and from 2.28.0 prior to 2.28.1, n8n instances configured with more than one trusted token-exchange issuer resolved external identities to local accounts using only the JWT sub claim and ignored the iss claim, allowing an attacker with a valid token from one trusted issuer and a sub matching a victim under another issuer to authenticate as that victim. This issue is fixed in versions 2.27.4 and 2.28.1.
Unit4 Financials by Coda versions prior to 2023Q4 suffer from an incorrect access control authorization bypass vulnerability which allows an authenticated user to modify the password of any user of the application via a crafted request.
OpenFGA is an authorization/permission engine built for developers. Prior to 1.18.0, OpenFGA's OIDC authenticator skipped JWT audience validation when authn.method was set to oidc, authn.oidc.issuer was configured, and authn.oidc.audience was not set, allowing a token minted for an unrelated service by the same identity provider to authenticate to OpenFGA. This issue is fixed in 1.18.0.
Logto is the modern, open-source auth infrastructure for SaaS and AI apps. Prior to 1.41.0, Logto's Account Center step-up check accepted any active verification record that belonged to the current user and had isVerified === true. A WebAuthn registration verification record for binding a new passkey could be created and verified with only an existing Account API bearer token, then sent in the logto-verification-id header and treated as identityVerified=true by Account Center routes, allowing MFA factor management without proving possession of an existing password, identifier, or MFA factor. This issue is fixed in version 1.41.0.
Improper authentication in Windows Admin Center allows an authorized attacker to elevate privileges over a network.
The Profile Builder – User Profile & User Registration Forms plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized password resets in versions up to, and including 3.9.0. This is due to the plugin using native password reset functionality, with insufficient validation on the password reset function (wppb_front_end_password_recovery). The function uses the plaintext value of a password reset key instead of a hashed value which means it can easily be retrieved and subsequently used. An attacker can leverage CVE-2023-0814, or another vulnerability like SQL Injection in another plugin or theme installed on the site to successfully exploit this vulnerability.
Zohocorp ManageEngine ADSelfService Plus versions 6510 and below are vulnerable to account takeover due to the session mishandling. Valid account holders in the setup only have the potential to exploit this bug.
A security flaw has been discovered in JeecgBoot up to 3.9.0. The affected element is an unknown function of the file jeecg-boot/jeecg-module-system/jeecg-system-biz/src/main/java/org/jeecg/modules/system/controller/SysTenantController.java of the component Multi-Tenant Management Module. Performing manipulation of the argument ID results in improper authentication. The attack can be initiated remotely. The exploit has been released to the public and may be exploited. The patch is named e1c8f00bf2a2e0edddbaa8119afe1dc92d9dc1d2/67795493bdc579e489d3ab12e52a1793c4f8a0ee. It is recommended to apply a patch to fix this issue.
In WS_FTP Server versions before 8.8.8 (2022.0.8), a Missing Critical Step in Multi-Factor Authentication of the Web Transfer Module allows users to skip the second-factor verification and log in with username and password only.
Caddy is an extensible server platform that uses TLS by default. Prior to 2.11.4, forward_auth copy_headers deletes the exact client-supplied identity header before copying the trusted value from the auth gateway. But when the request later goes through php_fastcgi, Caddy normalizes HTTP headers into CGI variables by replacing - with _. This lets a client send an underscore alias that survives the forward_auth delete step but becomes the same PHP/FastCGI variable. Result: a remote client can inject or sometimes override identity/group headers trusted by PHP/FastCGI applications behind Caddy. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.11.4.
IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6.1.1, 7.6.1.2, and 7.6.1.3 could allow a user to bypass authentication and obtain sensitive information or perform tasks they should not have access to. IBM X-Force ID: 236311.
In Eclipse Dataspace Components, from version 0.5.0 and before version 0.9.0, the ConsumerPullTransferTokenValidationApiController does not check for token validity (expiry, not-before, issuance date), which can allow an attacker to bypass the check for token expiration. The issue requires to have a dataplane configured to support http proxy consumer pull AND include the module "transfer-data-plane". The affected code was marked deprecated from the version 0.6.0 in favour of Dataplane Signaling. In 0.9.0 the vulnerable code has been removed.
Improper Authentication vulnerability in Apache APISIX. When the cas-auth plugin is used in a route, an attacker can possibly authenticate itself with credentials from a different source. This issue affects Apache APISIX: from 3.0.0 through 3.16.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 3.17.0, which fixes the issue.
SFTPGo is configurable SFTP server with optional HTTP/S, FTP/S and WebDAV support. SFTPGo WebAdmin and WebClient support login using TOTP (Time-based One Time Passwords) as a secondary authentication factor. Because TOTPs are often configured on mobile devices that can be lost, stolen or damaged, SFTPGo also supports recovery codes. These are a set of one time use codes that can be used instead of the TOTP. In SFTPGo versions from version 2.2.0 to 2.3.3 recovery codes can be generated before enabling two-factor authentication. An attacker who knows the user's password could potentially generate some recovery codes and then bypass two-factor authentication after it is enabled on the account at a later time. This issue has been fixed in version 2.3.4. Recovery codes can now only be generated after enabling two-factor authentication and are deleted after disabling it.
Trustee is a set of tools and components for attesting confidential guests and providing secrets to them. The ART (**Attestation Results Token**) token, generated by AS, could be manipulated by MITM attacker, but the verifier (CoCo Verification Demander like KBS) could still verify it successfully. In the payload of ART token, the ‘jwk’ could be replaced by attacker with his own pub key. Then attacker can use his own corresponding private key to sign the crafted ART token. Based on current code implementation (v0.8.0), such replacement and modification can not be detected. This issue has been addressed in version 0.8.2 and all users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
An issue was discovered in Mattermost Server before 4.0.0, 3.10.2, and 3.9.2, when Single Sign-On OAuth2 is used. An attacker could claim somebody else's account.
Improper authentication of an HTTP endpoint in the S3 Gateway of Apache Ozone 1.4.0 allows any authenticated Kerberos user to revoke and regenerate the S3 secrets of any other user. This is only possible if: * ozone.s3g.secret.http.enabled is set to true. The default value of this configuration is false. * The user configured in ozone.s3g.kerberos.principal is also configured in ozone.s3.administrators or ozone.administrators. Users are recommended to upgrade to Apache Ozone version 1.4.1 which disables the affected endpoint.
