A flaw was found in the networking subsystem of the Linux kernel within the handling of the RPL protocol. This issue results from the lack of proper handling of user-supplied data, which can lead to an assertion failure. This may allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to create a denial of service condition on the system.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: octeontx2-af: Workaround SQM/PSE stalls by disabling sticky NIX SQ manager sticky mode is known to cause stalls when multiple SQs share an SMQ and transmit concurrently. Additionally, PSE may deadlock on transitions between sticky and non-sticky transmissions. There is also a credit drop issue observed when certain condition clocks are gated. work around these hardware errata by: - Disabling SQM sticky operation: - Clear TM6 (bit 15) - Clear TM11 (bit 14) - Disabling sticky → non-sticky transition path that can deadlock PSE: - Clear TM5 (bit 23) - Preventing credit drops by keeping the control-flow clock enabled: - Set TM9 (bit 21) These changes are applied via NIX_AF_SQM_DBG_CTL_STATUS. With this configuration the SQM/PSE maintain forward progress under load without credit loss, at the cost of disabling sticky optimizations.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: bonding: Fix nd_tbl NULL dereference when IPv6 is disabled When booting with the 'ipv6.disable=1' parameter, the nd_tbl is never initialized because inet6_init() exits before ndisc_init() is called which initializes it. If bonding ARP/NS validation is enabled, an IPv6 NS/NA packet received on a slave can reach bond_validate_na(), which calls bond_has_this_ip6(). That path calls ipv6_chk_addr() and can crash in __ipv6_chk_addr_and_flags(). A remote denial of service vulnerability was found in the Linux kernel’s TIPC kernel module. The while loop in tipc_link_xmit() hits an unknown state while attempting to parse SKBs, which are not in the queue. Sending two small UDP packets to a system with a UDP bearer results in the CPU utilization for the system to instantly spike to 100%, causing a denial of service condition.
A NULL pointer dereference vulnerability in the Linux kernel NVMe functionality, in nvmet_setup_auth(), allows an attacker to perform a Pre-Auth Denial of Service (DoS) attack on a remote machine. Affected versions v6.0-rc1 to v6.0-rc3, fixed in v6.0-rc4.
A bug affects the Linux kernel’s ksmbd NTLMv2 authentication and is known to crash the OS immediately in Linux-based systems.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: bridge: vlan: fix memory leak in __allowed_ingress When using per-vlan state, if vlan snooping and stats are disabled, untagged or priority-tagged ingress frame will go to check pvid state. The Linux kernel NFSD implementation prior to versions 5.19.17 and 6.0.2 are vulnerable to buffer overflow. NFSD tracks the number of pages held by each NFSD thread by combining the receive and send buffers of a remote procedure call (RPC) into a single array of pages. A client can force the send buffer to shrink by sending an RPC message over TCP with garbage data added at the end of the message. The RPC message with garbage data is still correctly formed according to the specification and is passed forward to handlers. Vulnerable code in NFSD is not expecting the oversized request and writes beyond the allocated buffer space. CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sunrpc: fix handling of server side tls alerts Scott Mayhew discovered a security exploit in NFS over TLS in tls_alert_recv() due to its assumption it can read data from the msg iterator's kvec.. kTLS implementation splits TLS non-data record payload between the control message buffer (which includes the type such as TLS aler or TLS cipher change) and the rest of the payload (say TLS alert's level/description) which goes into the msg payload buffer. This patch proposes to rework how control messages are setup and used by sock_recvmsg(). If no control message structure is setup, kTLS layer will read and process TLS data record types. As soon as it encounters a TLS control message, it would return an error. At that point, NFS can setup a kvec backed msg buffer and read in the control message such as a TLS alert. Msg iterator can advance the kvec pointer as a part of the copy process thus we need to revert the iterator before calling into the tls_alert_recv.

As usually with such warnings three conditions must be met for the warning to trigger: - there must be no skb size rounding up (e.g. reply_size of 684); - string set must be per-device (so that the header gets populated); - the device name must be at least 12 characters long. all in all with current user space it looks like reading priv flags is the only place this could potentially happen. Or with syzbot :)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: m_can: m_can_read_fifo: fix memory leak in error branch In m_can_read_fifo(), if the second call to m_can_fifo_read() fails, the function jump to the out_fail label and returns without calling m_can_receive_skb(). This means that the skb previously allocated by alloc_can_skb() is not freed. In other terms, this is a memory leak. This patch adds a goto label to destroy the skb if an error occurs. Issue was found with GCC -fanalyzer, please follow the link below for details.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: riscv, bpf: Fix potential NULL dereference The bpf_jit_binary_free() function requires a non-NULL argument. When the RISC-V BPF JIT fails to converge in NR_JIT_ITERATIONS steps, jit_data->header will be NULL, which triggers a NULL dereference. Avoid this by checking the argument, prior calling the function.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: sched: fix memory leak in tcindex_partial_destroy_work Syzbot reported memory leak in tcindex_set_parms(). The problem was in non-freed perfect hash in tcindex_partial_destroy_work(). In tcindex_set_parms() new tcindex_data is allocated and some fields from old one are copied to new one, but not the perfect hash. Since tcindex_partial_destroy_work() is the destroy function for old tcindex_data, we need to free perfect hash to avoid memory leak.
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: sctp: disable BH before calling udp_tunnel_xmit_skb() udp_tunnel_xmit_skb() / udp_tunnel6_xmit_skb() are expected to run with BH disabled. After commit 6f1a9140ecda ("add xmit recursion limit to tunnel xmit functions"), on the path: udp(6)_tunnel_xmit_skb() -> ip(6)tunnel_xmit() dev_xmit_recursion_inc()/dec() must stay balanced on the same CPU. Without local_bh_disable(), the context may move between CPUs, which can break the inc/dec pairing. This may lead to incorrect recursion level detection and cause packets to be dropped in ip(6)_tunnel_xmit() or __dev_queue_xmit(). Fix it by disabling BH around both IPv4 and IPv6 SCTP UDP xmit paths. In my testing, after enabling the SCTP over UDP: # ip net exec ha sysctl -w net.sctp.udp_port=9899 # ip net exec ha sysctl -w net.sctp.encap_port=9899 # ip net exec hb sysctl -w net.sctp.udp_port=9899 # ip net exec hb sysctl -w net.sctp.encap_port=9899 # ip net exec ha iperf3 -s - without this patch: # ip net exec hb iperf3 -c 192.168.0.1 --sctp [ 5] 0.00-10.00 sec 37.2 MBytes 31.2 Mbits/sec sender [ 5] 0.00-10.00 sec 37.1 MBytes 31.1 Mbits/sec receiver - with this patch: # ip net exec hb iperf3 -c 192.168.0.1 --sctp [ 5] 0.00-10.00 sec 3.14 GBytes 2.69 Gbits/sec sender [ 5] 0.00-10.00 sec 3.14 GBytes 2.69 Gbits/sec receiver
