A directory traversal vulnerability exists in the httpd update.cgi functionality of FreshTomato 2022.5. A specially crafted HTTP request can lead to arbitrary file read. An attacker can send an HTTP request to trigger this vulnerability.
/cgi-bin/wapopen in Boa 0.94.14rc21 allows the injection of "../.." using the FILECAMERA variable (sent by GET) to read files with root privileges. NOTE: multiple third parties report that this is a system-integrator issue (e.g., a vulnerability on one type of camera) because Boa does not include any wapopen program or any code to read a FILECAMERA variable.

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files on affected installations of Ivanti Avalanche 6.3.3.101. Although authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability, the existing authentication mechanism can be bypassed. The specific flaw exists within the AgentTaskHandler class. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied path prior to using it in file operations. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to disclose stored session cookies, leading to further compromise. Was ZDI-CAN-15967.
Path Traversal vulnerability in Deytek Informatics FileOrbis File Management System allows Path Traversal. This issue affects FileOrbis File Management System: from unspecified before 10.6.3.
Path Traversal vulnerability in Digitek ADT1100 and Digitek DT950 from PRIMION DIGITEK, S.L.U (Azkoyen Group). This vulnerability allows an attacker to access arbitrary files in the server's file system, thet is, 'http://<host>/..%2F..% 2F..%2F..%2F..%2F..%2F..%2F..%2F..%2Fetc%2Fpasswd'. By manipulating the input to include URL encoded directory traversal sequences (e.g., %2F representing /), an attacker can bypass the input validation mechanisms ans retrieve sensitive files outside the intended directory, which could lead to information disclosure or further system compromise.
The $uri$args concatenation in nginx configuration file present in Open Security Issue Management (OSIM) prior v2025.9.0 allows path traversal attacks via query parameters.
Caddy is an extensible server platform that uses TLS by default. Prior to 2.11.4, on Windows, Caddy path matchers treat /private\secret.txt as outside /private/*, but file_server later resolves the same request path as private\secret.txt on disk. An unauthenticated remote client can bypass Caddy path-scoped auth/deny routes protecting /private/*. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.11.4.
Avigilon – CWE-22: Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal')
This affects the package elFinder.AspNet before 1.1.1. The user-controlled file name is not properly sanitized before it is used to create a file system path.

Hoverfly is a lightweight service virtualization/ API simulation / API mocking tool for developers and testers. The `/api/v2/simulation` POST handler allows users to create new simulation views from the contents of a user-specified file. This feature can be abused by an attacker to read arbitrary files from the Hoverfly server. Note that, although the code prevents absolute paths from being specified, an attacker can escape out of the `hf.Cfg.ResponsesBodyFilesPath` base path by using `../` segments and reach any arbitrary files. This issue was found using the Uncontrolled data used in path expression CodeQL query for python. Users are advised to make sure the final path (`filepath.Join(hf.Cfg.ResponsesBodyFilesPath, filePath)`) is contained within the expected base path (`filepath.Join(hf.Cfg.ResponsesBodyFilesPath, "/")`). This issue is also tracked as GHSL-2023-274.
Taipy 4.1.1, fixed in commit 129fd40, contains a path traversal vulnerability in the ElementLibrary.get_resource() method in taipy/gui/extension/library.py that allows unauthenticated attackers to escape the intended module directory by exploiting an incomplete path containment check using str.startswith() without a trailing path separator. Attackers can send crafted GET requests with path traversal segments targeting a prefix-matching sibling directory on disk, bypassing the directory containment check because Flask's path converter and Werkzeug's WSGI layer preserve the traversal segments while the resolved path still satisfies the flawed startswith comparison, enabling unauthorized file access outside the intended library directory.
The Simple File List plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to arbitrary file deletion due to insufficient file path validation in the eeSFL_DeleteFile function in all versions up to, and including, 6.3.7. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to delete arbitrary files on the server, which can easily lead to remote code execution when the right file is deleted (such as wp-config.php). The simplefilelist_edit_job AJAX action is registered via wp_ajax_nopriv_, making it accessible without authentication, and the is_admin() guard that would otherwise restrict access is bypassed because is_admin() always returns true for requests to the admin-ajax.php endpoint.

Jenkins Embeddable Build Status Plugin 2.0.3 and earlier allows specifying a `style` query parameter that is used to choose a different SVG image style without restricting possible values, resulting in a relative path traversal vulnerability that allows attackers without Overall/Read permission to specify paths to other SVG images on the Jenkins controller file system.
Mesop is a Python-based UI framework designed for rapid web apps development. A vulnerability has been discovered and fixed in Mesop that could potentially allow unauthorized access to files on the server hosting the Mesop application. The vulnerability was related to insufficient input validation in a specific endpoint. This could have allowed an attacker to access files not intended to be served. Users are strongly advised to update to the latest version of Mesop immediately. The latest version includes a fix for this vulnerability. At time of publication 0.12.4 is the most recently available version of Mesop.
xiaomusic v0.5.7 contains an unauthenticated path traversal vulnerability in the GET /music/{file_path:path} endpoint that allows unauthenticated attackers to read arbitrary files outside the intended music directory by exploiting an incomplete path prefix check. Attackers can request files from sibling directories whose names share the music_path prefix by crafting traversal sequences, bypassing the path restriction due to the missing trailing separator in the comparison logic to retrieve arbitrary files from the server.

An issue was discovered in mod_alias_physical_handler in mod_alias.c in lighttpd before 1.4.50. There is potential ../ path traversal of a single directory above an alias target, with a specific mod_alias configuration where the matched alias lacks a trailing '/' character, but the alias target filesystem path does have a trailing '/' character.

When attempting to open a file using a specific path, the user's password hash is sent to an arbitrary host. This could allow an attacker to obtain user credential hashes.
A vulnerability was found in Shenzhen Ruiming Technology Streamax Crocus 1.3.40. Affected by this issue is the function Download of the file /DeviceFileReport.do?Action=Download. Performing manipulation of the argument FilePath results in path traversal. The attack may be initiated remotely. The exploit has been made public and could be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.

A vulnerability in NLTK versions up to and including 3.9.2 allows arbitrary file read via path traversal in multiple CorpusReader classes, including WordListCorpusReader, TaggedCorpusReader, and BracketParseCorpusReader. These classes fail to properly sanitize or validate file paths, enabling attackers to traverse directories and access sensitive files on the server. This issue is particularly critical in scenarios where user-controlled file inputs are processed, such as in machine learning APIs, chatbots, or NLP pipelines. Exploitation of this vulnerability can lead to unauthorized access to sensitive files, including system files, SSH private keys, and API tokens, and may potentially escalate to remote code execution when combined with other vulnerabilities.
