Open WebUI: Path traversal / SSRF in terminal server proxy via encoded path traversal

Open WebUI is a self-hosted artificial intelligence platform designed to operate entirely offline. Prior to 0.9.6, the terminal-server reverse proxy in `backend/open_webui/routers/terminals.py` does not fully confine the user-controlled `path` segment before forwarding it to an admin-configured terminal server. An authenticated user who has been granted access to a terminal server can craft `path` values containing encoded `../` traversal sequences that escape the intended path (or policy) scope on that server, reaching unintended endpoints and files on the terminal-server host. Where the terminal server fans requests out to internal services, this also gives SSRF-style reach into those services. This is a separate code path from the `/api/v1/retrieval/process/web` SSRF (GHSA-c6xv-rcvw-v685), with its own input. Two distinct vectors are consolidated here: first, raw path forwarding / single-encoded traversal (original report); and second, a bypass of the subsequently-added `_sanitize_proxy_path` mitigation using double-encoded dots (`%252e%252e`). The attacker-controlled input is the request `path`, supplied by the non-admin user, not anything an administrator configures, so this is not an admin-trust / Rule-9 situation. Version 0.9.6 fixes the issue.

Hermes WebUI < 0.51.296 Workspace Boundary Bypass via api/workspace.py

Hermes WebUI before version 0.51.296 contains a workspace boundary bypass vulnerability that allows authenticated attackers to circumvent blocked-root path checks by exploiting an early return in the SSH/remote terminal profile workspace resolution logic within _remote_terminal_workspace_candidate(). Attackers can configure a remote terminal working directory to a system directory such as /etc, causing the workspace resolution path to accept it as a trusted local workspace root before the _is_blocked_workspace_path() guard executes, enabling read access to local system files through workspace file-read helpers.

Budibase: SSRF via OAuth2 Config Validation — Missing fetchWithBlacklist Protection

Budibase is an open-source low-code platform. Prior to 3.39.0, the OAuth2 token fetch function in packages/server/src/sdk/workspace/oauth2/utils.ts uses raw fetch(config.url) with no SSRF protection. The safe wrapper fetchWithBlacklist() exists in the same codebase and is used in every other outbound HTTP call (automation steps, plugin downloads, object store), but was not applied to the OAuth2 token endpoint. A user with BUILDER role can point the OAuth2 token URL to internal services (CouchDB, cloud metadata) to exfiltrate sensitive data. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.39.0.

Koel Vulnerable to SSRF via Podcast Episode Enclosure URLs

Koel is a free, open-source music streaming solution. Prior to version 9.3.5, Koel validates the podcast feed URL via the SafeUrl rule (DNS resolution + public IP check), but the individual episode <enclosure url="..."> values extracted from the RSS XML are stored directly into the database without any SSRF validation. When a user plays an episode, the server downloads the full HTTP response from the unvalidated enclosure URL via Http::sink()->get() and streams it back to the user, enabling full-read SSRF against internal services. This issue has been patched in version 9.3.5.

Sync-in Server: SSRF protection bypass via IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses in regExpPrivateIP

Sync-in Server is a secure, open-source platform for file storage, sharing, collaboration, and syncing. Prior to version 2.3.0, the private IP blocklist regex used in the URL download feature does not match IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses (e.g. ::ffff:127.0.0.1), allowing SSRF protection to be bypassed on dual-stack systems. Budibase: SSRF via trivial `.tar.gz` substring bypass in Plugin URL upload (`/api/plugin`)

Budibase is an open-source low-code platform. Prior to 3.35.10, the Plugin URL upload endpoint (POST /api/plugin) validates the submitted URL with a single substring check: url.includes(".tar.gz"). Any URL containing .tar.gz anywhere in the string — in the path, query string, or fragment — passes this check. The URL then proceeds directly to fetchWithBlacklist() with no further validation of host, scheme, or path. Standalone, this vulnerability is blocked by Budibase's default SSRF blacklist, which covers private IP ranges. But the URL validation layer itself is broken regardless, and it directly enables SSRF in two realistic situations: (1) when chained with the BLACKLIST_IPS bypass ([001]), where the blacklist is empty; and (2) when the plugin server follows HTTP redirects from an external URL to an internal target (the default node-fetch behavior with redirect: 'follow'). This vulnerability is fixed in 3.35.10.

WWBN AVideo: SSRF Protection Bypass via HTTP Redirect and DNS Rebinding in isSSRFSafeURL()

WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions up to and including 29.0, two endpoints (plugin/AI/receiveAsync.json.php and objects/EpgParser.php) in AVideo call isSSRFSafeURL() to validate user-supplied URLs, then fetch them using bare file_get_contents() without disabling PHP's automatic redirect following. An attacker can supply a URL pointing to a server they control that returns a 302 redirect to an internal/cloud-metadata address (e.g., http://169.254.169.254/latest/meta-data/). Since isSSRFSafeURL() only validates the initial URL, the redirect target bypasses all SSRF protections. Commit 603e7bf77a835584387327e35560262feb075db3 contains an updated fix.

Openshift/router: openshift/router: cloud metadata ssrf via fqdn-typed endpointslice bypasses destination validation

A flaw was found in the OpenShift Router. A user with EndpointSlice write access can exploit this vulnerability by creating a Service backed by an FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) EndpointSlice that resolves to a cloud metadata endpoint. This allows the router to proxy requests to the cloud metadata endpoint, leading to the disclosure of instance credentials and other sensitive metadata. This bypasses previous security measures for validating IP addresses.

Xibo: Authenticated Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) in Library Upload via URL functionality

Xibo is an open source digital signage platform with a web content management system and Windows display player software. Prior to 4.4.1, an authenticated Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the Xibo CMS allows users with Library upload permissions to make arbitrary HTTP requests from the CMS server to internal or external network resources. This can be exploited to scan internal infrastructure, access local cloud metadata endpoints (e.g., AWS IMDS), interact with internal services that lack authentication, or exfiltrate data. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.4.1.

Istio Vulnerable to SSRF via RequestAuthentication jwksUri

Istio is an open platform to connect, manage, and secure microservices. Prior to versions 1.28.6 and 1.29.2, when a RequestAuthentication resource is created with a jwksUri pointing to an internal service, istiod makes an unauthenticated HTTP GET request to that URL without filtering out localhost or link local ips. This can result in sensitive data being distributed to Envoy proxies via xDS configuration. This issue has been patched in versions 1.28.6 and 1.29.2.

AVideo's SSRF via same-domain hostname with alternate port bypasses isSSRFSafeURL

WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions 29.0 and below, the `isSSRFSafeURL()` function in `objects/functions.php` contains a same-domain shortcircuit (lines 4290-4296) that allows any URL whose hostname matches `webSiteRootURL` to bypass all SSRF protections. Because the check compares only the hostname and ignores the port, an attacker can reach arbitrary ports on the AVideo server by using the site's public hostname with a non-standard port. The response body is saved to a web-accessible path, enabling full exfiltration. Commit a0156a6398362086390d949190f9d52a823000ba fixes the issue.

Server-Side Request Forgery via MCP Tools Endpoint in FastGPT

FastGPT is an AI Agent building platform. Prior to version 4.14.9.5, FastGPT's MCP (Model Context Protocol) tools endpoints (/api/core/app/mcpTools/getTools and /api/core/app/mcpTools/runTool) accept a user-supplied URL parameter and make server-side HTTP requests to it without validating whether the URL points to an internal/private network address. Although the application has a dedicated isInternalAddress() function for SSRF protection (used in other endpoints like the HTTP workflow node), the MCP tools endpoints do not call this function. An authenticated attacker can use these endpoints to scan internal networks, access cloud metadata services, and interact with internal services such as MongoDB and Redis. TypeBot: SSRF via Open Redirect Bypass in HTTP Request and Code Blocks

TypeBot is a chatbot builder tool. Versions 3.15.2 and prior contain an SSRF via Open Redirect Bypass as the HTTP Request block and Code block validate the initial request URL via validateHttpReqUrl() to block private IPs and cloud metadata hostnames. However, the HTTP clients (ky and fetch) follow 302 redirects without re-validating the redirect destination. An authenticated user can point a bot block to an attacker-controlled server that responds with a redirect to an internal IP, causing the Typebot server to reach internal services. An authenticated Typebot user can reach AWS metadata (169.254.169.254), private subnets, and container-internal services. Exploitable to extract cloud IAM credentials or probe internal APIs inaccessible from the internet. This issue has been fixed in version 3.16.0.

Movary has Authenticated SSRF via Jellyfin Server URL Verification that Allows Internal Network Probing

Movary is a self hosted web app to track and rate a user's watched movies. Prior to version 0.71.1, an ordinary authenticated user can trigger server-side requests to arbitrary internal targets through `POST /settings/jellyfin/server-url-verify`. The endpoint accepts a user-controlled URL, appends `/system/info/public`, and sends a server-side HTTP request with Guzzle. Because there is no restriction on internal hosts, loopback addresses, or private network ranges, this can be abused for SSRF and internal network probing. Any ordinary authenticated user can use this endpoint to make the server connect to arbitrary internal targets and distinguish between different network states. This enables SSRF-based internal reconnaissance, including host discovery, port-state probing, and service fingerprinting. In certain deployments, it may also be usable to reach internal administrative services or cloud metadata endpoints that are not directly accessible from the outside. Version 0.71.1 fixes the issue.

Path Traversal in Folder Component Leading to Local File Inclusion

OpenOlat is a web-based e-learning platform for teaching, learning, assessment and communication, an LMS, a learning management system. In affected versions by manipulating the HTTP request an attacker can modify the path of a requested file download in the folder component to point to anywhere on the target system. The attack could be used to read any file accessible in the web root folder or outside, depending on the configuration of the system and the properly configured permission of the application server user. The attack requires an OpenOlat user account or the enabled guest user feature together with the usage of the folder component in a course. The attack does not allow writing of arbitrary files, it allows only reading of files and also only ready of files that the attacker knows the exact path which is very unlikely at least for OpenOlat data files. The problem is fixed in version 15.5.8 and 16.0.1 It is advised to upgrade to version 16.0.x. There are no known workarounds to fix this problem, an upgrade is necessary.

OpenObserve has a SSRF Protection Bypass via IPv6 Bracket Notation in validate_enrichment_url

OpenObserve is a cloud-native observability platform. In 0.70.3 and earlier, the validate_enrichment_url function in src/handler/http/request/enrichment_table/mod.rs fails to block IPv6 addresses because Rust's url crate returns them with surrounding brackets (e.g. "[::1]" not "::1"). An authenticated attacker can reach internal services blocked from external access. On cloud deployments this enables retrieval of IAM credentials via AWS IMDSv1 (169.254.169.254), GCP metadata, or Azure IMDS. On self-hosted deployments it allows probing internal network services.

Incomplete fix for CVE-2026-33399: SSRF in Wallos

Wallos is an open-source, self-hostable personal subscription tracker. In versions 4.8.4 and prior, the incomplete SSRF fix in Wallos validates webhook URLs via gethostbyname() but passes the original hostname to cURL without CURLOPT_RESOLVE pinning on 10 of 11 outbound HTTP endpoints, leaving a DNS rebinding TOCTOU window. At time of publication, there are no publicly available patches.

Langflow vulnerable to Server-Side Request Forgery

Langflow is a tool for building and deploying AI-powered agents and workflows. Prior to version 1.7.0, Langflow provides an API Request component that can issue arbitrary HTTP requests within a flow. This component takes a user-supplied URL, performs only normalization and basic format checks, and then sends the request using a server-side httpx client. It does not block private IP ranges (127[.]0[.]0[.]1, the 10/172/192 ranges) or cloud metadata endpoints (169[.]254[.]169[.]254), and it returns the response body as the result. Because the flow execution endpoints (/api/v1/run, /api/v1/run/advanced) can be invoked with just an API key, if an attacker can control the API Request URL in a flow, non-blind SSRF is possible—accessing internal resources from the server’s network context. This enables requests to, and collection of responses from, internal administrative endpoints, metadata services, and internal databases/services, leading to information disclosure and providing a foothold for further attacks. Version 1.7.0 contains a patch for this issue.

Wallos: SSRF Bypass - Incomplete Fix for CVE-2026-30839/30840

Wallos is an open-source, self-hostable personal subscription tracker. Prior to version 4.7.0, the SSRF fix applied in version 4.6.2 for CVE-2026-30839 and CVE-2026-30840 is incomplete. The validate_webhook_url_for_ssrf() protection was added to the test* notification endpoints but not to the corresponding save* endpoints. An authenticated user can save an internal/private IP address as a notification URL, and when the cron job sendnotifications.php executes, the request is sent to the internal IP without any SSRF validation. This issue has been patched in version 4.7.0.

Unauthenticated Arbitrary File Access in Jellyfin

Jellyfin is a Free Software Media System. In Jellyfin before version 10.7.1, with certain endpoints, well crafted requests will allow arbitrary file read from a Jellyfin server's file system. This issue is more prevalent when Windows is used as the host OS. Servers that are exposed to the public Internet are potentially at risk. This is fixed in version 10.7.1. As a workaround, users may be able to restrict some access by enforcing strict security permissions on their filesystem, however, it is recommended to update as soon as possible.

Directory Traversal

spring-boot-actuator-logview in a library that adds a simple logfile viewer as spring boot actuator endpoint. It is maven package "eu.hinsch:spring-boot-actuator-logview". In spring-boot-actuator-logview before version 0.2.13 there is a directory traversal vulnerability. The nature of this library is to expose a log file directory via admin (spring boot actuator) HTTP endpoints. Both the filename to view and a base folder (relative to the logging folder root) can be specified via request parameters. While the filename parameter was checked to prevent directory traversal exploits (so that `filename=../somefile` would not work), the base folder parameter was not sufficiently checked, so that `filename=somefile&base=../` could access a file outside the logging base directory). The vulnerability has been patched in release 0.2.13. Any users of 0.2.12 should be able to update without any issues as there are no other changes in that release. There is no workaround to fix the vulnerability other than updating or removing the dependency. However, removing read access of the user the application is run with to any directory not required for running the application can limit the impact. Additionally, access to the logview endpoint can be limited by deploying the application behind a reverse proxy.

Server-Side Request Forgery in MinIO Browser API

MinIO is a High Performance Object Storage released under Apache License v2.0. In MinIO before version RELEASE.2021-01-30T00-20-58Z there is a server-side request forgery vulnerability. The target application may have functionality for importing data from a URL, publishing data to a URL, or otherwise reading data from a URL that can be tampered with. The attacker modifies the calls to this functionality by supplying a completely different URL or by manipulating how URLs are built (path traversal etc.). In a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) attack, the attacker can abuse functionality on the server to read or update internal resources. The attacker can supply or modify a URL which the code running on the server will read or submit data, and by carefully selecting the URLs, the attacker may be able to read server configuration such as AWS metadata, connect to internal services like HTTP enabled databases, or perform post requests towards internal services which are not intended to be exposed. This is fixed in version RELEASE.2021-01-30T00-20-58Z, all users are advised to upgrade. As a workaround you can disable the browser front-end with "MINIO_BROWSER=off" environment variable.
