n8n versions before 2.30.1 contain a privilege escalation vulnerability in the AI Agents feature where the node-execution tool lacks proper authorization checks. A Project Viewer user can escalate privileges by chatting with an agent that has node tools enabled, executing arbitrary nodes and accessing credential secrets without proper authorization verification.
n8n before 2.29.8 and 2.30.x before 2.30.1 (affected from 2.27.0, when the OAuth 2.1 consent and token-issuance flow was introduced) does not verify that the authenticated user has access to the workflow referenced as the OAuth resource. On instances with at least one active MCP Server Trigger workflow configured with n8n OAuth2 authentication, a member-level user can register an OAuth client, self-approve consent for another user's workflow, and obtain a valid token. The workflow then runs in the owner's project context with the owner's stored credentials, and the attacker can set tool inputs and read outputs (potentially including data from the owner's connected integrations), breaking user and project isolation.
n8n before 1.123.64, 2.29.8, and 2.30.1 fails to enforce the "Allowed HTTP Request Domains" restriction on HTTP-based credentials (Header Auth, Basic Auth, Query Auth, OAuth) in the GraphQL node, unlike the HTTP Request node. An authenticated user able to create or edit workflows can point the node's endpoint at a server they control and exfiltrate restricted credentials. Only instances where a credential has "Allowed HTTP Request Domains" configured and is usable by non-owner users are affected.
n8n before 2.25.7 and 2.26.x before 2.26.2 contains an authorization bypass in the Public API execution retry endpoint, which authorizes access using the workflow:read scope instead of workflow:execute. An authenticated user with read-only access to a shared workflow can use the Public API to retry executions of that workflow, bypassing the intended permission boundary between read and execute access. This affects instances where workflows are shared with other users or across projects.
n8n before 1.123.55, 2.25.7, and 2.26.2 contains an authorization bypass in the POST /workflows/{workflowId}/test-runs/new endpoint, which authorizes access using the workflow:read scope instead of workflow:execute. An authenticated user with read-only access to a workflow can trigger a real evaluation test run, causing the workflow to execute via the internal workflow runner and resulting in unintended outbound API calls, data mutations, or other side effects in connected downstream systems. The issue primarily affects instances using the Evaluations feature where RBAC project roles grant workflow:read without workflow:execute.
n8n is an open source workflow automation platform. Prior to version 2.8.0, when the `N8N_SKIP_AUTH_ON_OAUTH_CALLBACK` environment variable is set to `true`, the OAuth callback handler skips ownership verification of the OAuth state parameter. This allows an attacker to trick a victim into completing an OAuth flow against a credential object the attacker controls, causing the victim's OAuth tokens to be stored in the attacker's credential. The attacker can then use those tokens to execute workflows in their name. This issue only affects instances where `N8N_SKIP_AUTH_ON_OAUTH_CALLBACK=true` is explicitly configured (non-default). The issue has been fixed in n8n version 2.8.0. Users should upgrade to this version or later to remediate the vulnerability. If upgrading is not immediately possible, administrators should consider the following temporary mitigations: Avoid enabling `N8N_SKIP_AUTH_ON_OAUTH_CALLBACK=true` unless strictly required, and/ or restrict access to the n8n instance to fully trusted users only. These workarounds do not fully remediate the risk and should only be used as short-term mitigation measures.
n8n is an open source workflow automation platform. Prior to 1.123.55, 2.25.7, and 2.26.2, a member-level user with editor access to a shared workflow could reference credentials they do not own via specific public API endpoints. Credential ownership checks were only enforced partially leading to cross-user credential access. This issue affects instances where workflow sharing is enabled and at least one workflow has been shared with a member-level user as an Editor. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.123.55, 2.25.7, and 2.26.2.
n8n is an open source workflow automation platform. Prior to versions 2.6.4 and 1.123.23, an authenticated user without permission to list external secrets could reference a secret by the external name in a credential and retrieve its plaintext value when saving the credential. This bypassed the `externalSecret:list` permission check and allowed access to secrets stored in connected vaults without admin or owner privileges. This issue requires the instance to have an external secrets vault configured. The attacker must know or be able to guess the name of a target secret. The issue has been fixed in n8n versions 1.123.23 and 2.6.4. Users should upgrade to one of these versions or later to remediate the vulnerability. If upgrading is not immediately possible, administrators should consider the following temporary mitigations: Restrict n8n access to fully trusted users only, and/or disable external secrets integration until the patch can be applied. These workarounds do not fully remediate the risk and should only be used as short-term mitigation measures.
Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. From 0.9.6 before 0.10.0, _verify_knowledge_file_access only checked read access while file write and delete routes later trusted object-derived access through writable model meta.knowledge entries, allowing a user with read-only knowledge file access to upgrade to file write or delete operations. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.
Open WebUI is an extensible, feature-rich, and user-friendly self-hosted AI platform. From 0.8.11 before 0.10.0, POST /api/v1/images/edit required only a verified account and did not enforce the global image-edit switch or the per-user image-generation permission, allowing a non-admin user to invoke server-side image editing with administrator-configured provider credentials. This issue is fixed in version 0.10.0.
Mythic before 3.4.0.60 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability that allows authenticated spectator-role users to perform unauthorized write operations by accessing the eventing_import_automatic_webhook endpoint registered under spectator-permitted middleware. Attackers with spectator role can exploit this misconfigured access control to create and delete automation workflows, making unauthorized modifications to operation automation configuration and EventGroups.
The WP Hotel Booking WordPress plugin before 2.0.8 does not have proper authorisation when deleting a package, allowing Contributor and above roles to delete posts that do no belong to them
A user changing their email after signing up and verifying it can change it without verification in profile settings. The configuration option "verify_email_enabled" will only validate email only on sign up.
The myStickymenu WordPress plugin before 2.6.5 does not adequately authorize some ajax calls, allowing any logged-in user to perform the actions.
OpenProject is open-source, web-based project management software. Prior to 17.3.3 and 17.4.1, a cross-project IDOR / authorization context confusion in the Calendar and Team Planner modules allows a user with management permissions in one project to delete public Calendar or Team Planner Queries from another project where they do not have the corresponding management permissions. Both modules authorize the request against the project identified by :project_id in the URL, but the actual Query object is loaded later by :id from Query.visible(current_user) without verifying that the loaded Query belongs to the authorized project. As a result, an attacker can use permissions from Project A to delete shared/public Calendar or Team Planner views from Project B, causing integrity impact and limited availability impact for users relying on those shared views. This vulnerability is fixed in 17.3.3 and 17.4.1.
An issue was discovered in cyrus-imapd in Cyrus IMAP through 3.12.2. The vacation "fcc" feature skips the destination-mailbox ACL. A user whose vacation Sieve script used :fcc (to save a copy of the sent message) could deliver vacation auto-reply copies into any mailbox the script could name, regardless of whether the script owner had insert permissions on the destination mailbox.
pyLoad is a free and open-source download manager written in Python. Prior to 0.5.0b3.dev97, the /json/package_order, /json/link_order, and /json/abort_link WebUI JSON endpoints enforce weaker permissions than the core API methods they invoke. This allows authenticated low-privileged users to execute MODIFY operations that should be denied by pyLoad's own permission model. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.5.0b3.dev97.
Opencast is a free, open-source platform to support the management of educational audio and video content. In Opencast before version 9.2 there is a vulnerability in which publishing an episode with strict access rules will overwrite the currently set series access. This allows for an easy denial of access for all users without superuser privileges, effectively hiding the series. Access to series and series metadata on the search service (shown in media module and player) depends on the events published which are part of the series. Publishing an event will automatically publish a series and update access to it. Removing an event or republishing the event should do the same. Affected versions of Opencast may not update the series access or remove a published series if an event is being removed. On removal of an episode, this may lead to an access control list for series metadata with broader access rules than the merged access rules of all remaining events, or the series metadata still being available although all episodes of that series have been removed. This problem is fixed in Opencast 9.2.
A logic error in the remove_password() function in Checkmk GmbH's Checkmk versions <2.4.0p23, <2.3.0p43, and 2.2.0 (EOL) allows a low-privileged user to cause data loss.
The Chef Habitat builder-api on-prem-builder package  with any version lower than habitat/builder-api/10315/20240913162802 is vulnerable to indirect object reference (IDOR) by un-authorized deletion of personal token.  Habitat builder consumes builder-api habitat package as a dependency and the vulnerability was specifically due to builder-api habitat package. The fix was made available in habitat/builder-api/10315/20240913162802 and all the subsequent versions after that. We would recommend user to always use on-prem stable channel.
The WP-Optimize plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized access of functionality due to missing capability checks in the `receive_heartbeat()` function in `includes/class-wp-optimize-heartbeat.php` in all versions up to, and including, 4.5.0. This is due to the Heartbeat handler directly invoking `Updraft_Smush_Manager_Commands` methods without verifying user capabilities, nonce tokens, or the allowed commands whitelist that the normal AJAX handler (`updraft_smush_ajax`) enforces. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to invoke admin-only Smush operations including reading log files (`get_smush_logs`), deleting all backup images (`clean_all_backup_images`), triggering bulk image processing (`process_bulk_smush`), and modifying Smush options (`update_smush_options`).
A vulnerability was detected in Sipeed PicoClaw up to 0.2.9. This vulnerability affects the function rt.ReloadConfig of the file pkg/channels/pico/pico.go. Performing a manipulation of the argument message.send results in missing authorization. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploit is now public and may be used. The reported GitHub issue was closed automatically due to inactivity.
A vulnerability has been found in LitmusChaos Litmus up to 3.19.0 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects unknown code of the file /auth/delete_project/ of the component Delete Request Handler. The manipulation of the argument projectID leads to missing authorization. The attack can be initiated remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
Vikunja is an open-source self-hosted task management platform. Starting in version 0.20.2 and prior to version 2.2.0, the `DELETE /api/v1/projects/:project/background` endpoint checks `CanRead` permission instead of `CanUpdate`, allowing any user with read-only access to a project to permanently delete its background image. Version 2.2.0 fixes the issue.
An improper default REST API permission for Gamma users in Apache Superset up to and including 2.1.0 allows for an authenticated Gamma user to test database connections.
Discourse is an open source discussion platform. Prior to version 3.0.4 of the `stable` branch and version 3.1.0.beta5 of the `beta` and `tests-passed` branches, the lack of restrictions on the iFrame tag makes it easy for an attacker to exploit the vulnerability and hide subsequent comments from other users. This issue is patched in version 3.0.4 of the `stable` branch and version 3.1.0.beta5 of the `beta` and `tests-passed` branches. There are no known workarounds.
An authenticated attacker granted a Viewer or Auditor role on a BIG-IQ can upload arbitrary files using an undisclosed iControl REST endpoint. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated.
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in WoWonder. Affected is the file /requests.php which is responsible to handle group messages. The manipulation of the argument group_id allows posting messages in other groups. It is possible to launch the attack remotely but it might require authentication. A video explaining the attack has been disclosed to the public.
In Splunk MCP Server app versions below 0.2.4, a user with access to the "run_splunk_query" Model Context Protocol (MCP) tool could bypass the SPL command allowlist controls in MCP by embedding SPL commands as sub-searches, leading to unauthorized actions beyond the intended MCP restrictions.
A weakness has been identified in SourceCodester Alumni Management System 1.0. This issue affects the function delete_forum/delete_career/delete_comment/delete_gallery/delete_event of the file admin/admin_class.php of the component Delete Handler. Executing manipulation of the argument ID can lead to missing authorization. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploit has been made available to the public and could be exploited.
Nextcloud Server is a self hosted personal cloud system. After an attacker got access to the session of a user or administrator, the attacker would be able to create, change or delete external storages without having to confirm the password. It is recommended that the Nextcloud Server is upgraded to 28.0.12, 29.0.9 or 30.0.2.
Due to inconsistent authorization permissions, data.all may allow an external actor with an authenticated account to perform restricted operations against DataSets and Environments.
A security vulnerability has been detected in macrozheng mall-swarm up to 1.0.3. Affected is the function delete of the file /member/readHistory/delete. Such manipulation of the argument ids leads to improper authorization. The attack can be executed remotely. The exploit has been disclosed publicly and may be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
Incorrect Authorization vulnerability in WP Chill Htaccess File Editor htaccess-file-editor allows Accessing Functionality Not Properly Constrained by ACLs.This issue affects Htaccess File Editor: from n/a through <= 1.0.18.
Mattermost fails to properly validate the permissions when soft deleting a team allowing a team member to soft delete other teams that they are not part of
The Fluent Forms plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to incorrect authorization via the 'subscription_id' parameter in versions up to, and including, 6.2.1. This is due to insufficient ownership authorization checks in the payment cancellation AJAX flow. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to submit cancellation requests for other users' subscriptions.
Open WebUI is a self-hosted artificial intelligence platform designed to operate entirely offline. Prior to 0.9.0, the ydoc:document:update Socket.IO event handler checks whether the sender is a member of the document's Socket.IO room (line 678) but does not verify that the sender has write permission. Users with read-only access join the document room via ydoc:document:join, which only requires read permission (line 520). Once in the room, the user can emit ydoc:document:update events that modify the in-memory Yjs document state and are broadcast to all other collaborators in real time. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.9.0.
FreeScout is a free help desk and shared inbox built with PHP's Laravel framework. Prior to version 1.8.217, a user holding the PERM_EDIT_USERS permission (intended for general user-profile editing) can read and modify the notification subscriptions of any other user, including admins, by sending a single POST request. This is a sibling of CVE-2025-48472's notification authorization bypass — the prior fix did not cover this code path. A non-admin attacker can silently disable an admin's email/browser/mobile notifications, suppressing security alerts and conversation-assignment notices. This issue has been patched in version 1.8.217.
Froxlor is open source server administration software. Prior to version 2.3.6, in `Domains.add()`, the `adminid` parameter is accepted from user input and used without validation when the calling reseller does not have the `customers_see_all` permission. This allows a reseller to attribute newly created domains to any other admin, bypassing their own domain quota (since the wrong admin's `domains_used` counter is incremented) and potentially exhausting another admin's quota. Version 2.3.6 fixes the issue.
Foreman versions before 2.3.4 and before 2.4.0 is affected by an improper authorization handling flaw. An authenticated attacker can impersonate the foreman-proxy if product enable the Puppet Certificate authority (CA) to sign certificate requests that have subject alternative names (SANs). Foreman do not enable SANs by default and `allow-authorization-extensions` is set to `false` unless user change `/etc/puppetlabs/puppetserver/conf.d/ca.conf` configuration explicitly.
Soft Serve is a self-hostable Git server for the command line. Prior to version 0.11.2, an authorization bypass in the LFS lock deletion endpoint allows any authenticated user with repository write access to delete locks owned by other users by setting the force flag. The vulnerable code path processes force deletions before retrieving user context, bypassing ownership validation entirely. This issue has been patched in version 0.11.2.
Operation restriction bypass in the management screen of Cybozu Remote Service 3.1.8 to 3.1.9 allows a remote authenticated attacker to alter the data of the management screen.
Adobe Commerce versions 2.4.7-p2, 2.4.6-p7, 2.4.5-p9, 2.4.4-p10 and earlier are affected by an Improper Authorization vulnerability that could result in a Security feature bypass. A low-privileged attacker could leverage this vulnerability to bypass security measures and have a low impact on integrity and availability. Exploitation of this issue does not require user interaction.
The node management page in SolarWinds Orion Platform before 2020.2.5 HF1 allows an attacker to create or delete a node (outside of the attacker's perimeter) via an account with write permissions. This occurs because node IDs are predictable (with incrementing numbers) and the access control on Services/NodeManagement.asmx/DeleteObjNow is incorrect. To exploit this, an attacker must be authenticated and must have node management rights associated with at least one valid group on the platform.
Improper authorization in GitLab EE affecting all versions since 13.4 allowed a user who previously had the necessary access to trigger deployments to protected environments under specific conditions after the access has been removed
