OpenBao's Certificate Authentication Allows Token Renewal With Different Certificate

OpenBao is an open source identity-based secrets management system. Prior to version 2.5.3, OpenBao's Certificate authentication method, when a token renewal is requested and `disable_binding=true` is set, attempts to verify the current request's presented mTLS certificate matches the original. Token renewals for other authentication methods do not require any supplied login information. Due to incorrect matching, the certificate authentication method would allow renewal of tokens for which the attacker had a sibling certificate+key signed by the same CA, but which did not necessarily match the original role or the originally supplied certificate. This implies an attacker could still authenticate to OpenBao in a similar scope, however, token renewal implies that an attacker may be able to extend the lifetime of dynamic leases held by the original token. This attack requires knowledge of either the original token or its accessor. This vulnerability is original from HashiCorp Vault. This is addressed in v2.5.3. As a workaround, ensure privileged roles are tightly scoped to single certificates.

Cryptomator Hub OAuth token exchange HTTP downgrade via getAuthority() scheme confusion (CVE-2026-32303 bypass)

Cryptomator is an open-source client-side encryption application for cloud storage. Version 1.19.1 contains a logic flaw in CheckHostTrustController.getAuthority() that allows an attacker to bypass the security fix for CVE-2026-32303. The method hardcodes the URI scheme based on port number, causing HTTPS URLs with port 80 to produce the same authority string as HTTP URLs, which defeats both the consistency check and the HTTP block validation. An attacker with write access to a cloud-synced vault.cryptomator file can craft a Hub configuration where apiBaseUrl and authEndpoint use HTTPS with port 80 to pass auto-trust validation, while tokenEndpoint uses plaintext HTTP. The vault is auto-trusted without user prompt, and a network-positioned attacker can intercept the OAuth token exchange to access the Cryptomator Hub API as the victim. This issue has been fixed in version 1.19.2.

Use of weak cryptographic key in TP-Link Archer C7

Inadequate Encryption Strength vulnerability in TP-Link Archer C7 v5 and v5.8 (uhttpd modules) allows Password Recovery Exploitation. The web interface encrypts the admin password client-side using RSA-1024 before sending it to the router during login.  An adjacent attacker with the ability to intercept network traffic could potentially perform a brute-force or factorization attack against the 1024-bit RSA key to recover the plaintext administrator password, leading to unauthorized access and compromise of the device configuration.  This issue affects Archer C7: through Build 20220715.

Cisco Webex Meetings Certificate Validation Vulnerability

A vulnerability in the integration of single sign-on (SSO) with Control Hub in Cisco Webex Services could have allowed an unauthenticated, remote attacker to impersonate any user within the service. This vulnerability existed because of improper certificate validation. Sigstore Timestamp Authority has Improper Certificate Validation in verifier

Sigstore Timestamp Authority is a service for issuing RFC 3161 timestamps. Versions 2.0.5 and below contain an authorization bypass vulnerability in the VerifyTimestampResponse function. VerifyTimestampResponse correctly verifies the certificate chain signature, but the TSA-specific constraint checks in VerifyLeafCert uses the first non-CA certificate from the PKCS#7 certificate bag instead of the leaf certificate from the verified chain. An attacker can exploit this by prepending a forged certificate to the certificate bag while the message is signed with an authorized key, causing the library to validate the signature against one certificate but perform authorization checks against another. This vulnerability only affects users of the timestamp-authority/v2/pkg/verification package and does not affect the timestamp-authority service itself or sigstore-go. The issue has been fixed in version 2.0.6.

Before commit 0c7d133c3c7e37c00b6d46b658a02244fdd3c784, jq used MurmurHash3 with a hardcoded, publicly visible seed (0x432A9843) for all JSON object hash table operations, which allowed an attacker to precompute key collisions offline. By supplying a crafted JSON object (~100 KB) where all keys hashed to the same bucket, hash table lookups degraded from O(1) to O(n), turning any jq expression into an O(n²) operation and causing significant CPU exhaustion. This affected common jq use cases such as CI/CD pipelines, web services, and data processing scripts, and was far more practical to exploit than existing heap overflow issues since it required only a small payload. This issue has been patched in commit 0c7d133c3c7e37c00b6d46b658a02244fdd3c784.

Apache Log4j Core: verifyHostName attribute silently ignored in TLS configuration, allowing hostname verification bypass

The fix for CVE-2025-68161 https://logging.apache.org/security.html#CVE-2025-68161 was incomplete: it addressed hostname verification only when enabled via the log4j2.sslVerifyHostName https://logging.apache.org/log4j/2.x/manual/systemproperties.html#log4j2.sslVerifyHostName system property, but not when configured through the verifyHostName https://logging.apache.org/log4j/2.x/manual/appenders/network.html#SslConfiguration-attr-verifyHostName attribute of the <Ssl> element. Although the verifyHostName configuration attribute was introduced in Log4j Core 2.12.0, it was silently ignored in all versions through 2.25.3, leaving TLS connections vulnerable to interception regardless of the configured value. A network-based attacker may be able to perform a man-in-the-middle attack when all of the following conditions are met: * An SMTP, Socket, or Syslog appender is in use. * TLS is configured via a nested <Ssl> element. * The attacker can present a certificate issued by a CA trusted by the appender's configured trust store, or by the default Java trust store if none is configured. This issue does not affect users of the HTTP appender, which uses a separate verifyHostname https://logging.apache.org/log4j/2.x/manual/appenders/network.html#HttpAppender-attr-verifyHostName attribute that was not subject to this bug and verifies host names by default. Users are advised to upgrade to Apache Log4j Core 2.25.4, which corrects this issue.

Improper Certificate Signature Verification in X.509 Chain Validation Allows Forged Leaf Certificates

wolfSSL_X509_verify_cert in the OpenSSL compatibility layer accepts a certificate chain in which the leaf's signature is not checked, if the attacker supplies an untrusted intermediate with Basic Constraints `CA:FALSE` that is legitimately signed by a trusted root. An attacker who obtains any leaf certificate from a trusted CA (e.g. a free DV cert from Let's Encrypt) can forge a certificate for any subject name with any public key and arbitrary signature bytes, and the function returns `WOLFSSL_SUCCESS` / `X509_V_OK`. The native wolfSSL TLS handshake path (`ProcessPeerCerts`) is not susceptible and the issue is limited to applications using the OpenSSL compatibility API directly, which would include integrations of wolfSSL into nginx and haproxy.

Improper Certificate Validation in rfc3161-client

rfc3161-client is a Python library implementing the Time-Stamp Protocol (TSP) described in RFC 3161. Prior to 1.0.6, an Authorization Bypass vulnerability in rfc3161-client's signature verification allows any attacker to impersonate a trusted TimeStamping Authority (TSA). By exploiting a logic flaw in how the library extracts the leaf certificate from an unordered PKCS#7 bag of certificates, an attacker can append a spoofed certificate matching the target common_name and Extended Key Usage (EKU) requirements. This tricks the library into verifying these authorization rules against the forged certificate while validating the cryptographic signature against an actual trusted TSA (such as FreeTSA), thereby bypassing the intended TSA authorization pinning entirely. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.0.6.

Botan has a certificate authentication bypass due to trust anchor confusion

Botan is a C++ cryptography library. In 3.11.0, the function Certificate_Store::certificate_known had a misleading name; it would return true if any certificate in the store had a DN (and subject key identifier, if set) matching that of the argument. It did not check that the cert it found and the cert it was passed were actually the same certificate. In 3.11.0 an extension of path validation logic was made which assumed that certificate_known only returned true if the certificates were in fact identical. The impact is that if an end entity certificate is presented, and its DN (and subject key identifier, if set) match that of any trusted root, the end entity certificate is accepted immediately as if it itself were a trusted root. , This vulnerability is fixed in 3.11.1.

OCSP designated-responder authorization bypass via missing signature verification

Improper Certificate Validation vulnerability in Erlang OTP public_key (pubkey_ocsp module) allows OCSP designated-responder authorization bypass via missing signature verification. The OCSP response validation in public_key:pkix_ocsp_validate/5 does not verify that a CA-designated responder certificate was cryptographically signed by the issuing CA. Instead, it only checks that the responder certificate's issuer name matches the CA's subject name and that the certificate has the OCSPSigning extended key usage. An attacker who can intercept or control OCSP responses can create a self-signed certificate with a matching issuer name and the OCSPSigning EKU, and use it to forge OCSP responses that mark revoked certificates as valid. This affects SSL/TLS clients using OCSP stapling, which may accept connections to servers with revoked certificates, potentially transmitting sensitive data to compromised servers. Applications using the public_key:pkix_ocsp_validate/5 API directly are also affected, with impact depending on usage context. This vulnerability is associated with program files lib/public_key/src/pubkey_ocsp.erl and program routines pubkey_ocsp:is_authorized_responder/3. This issue affects OTP from OTP 27.0 until OTP 28.4.2 and 27.3.4.10 corresponding to public_key from 1.16 until 1.20.3 and 1.17.1.2, and ssl from 11.2 until 11.5.4 and 11.2.12.7.

Missing Encryption of Sensitive Data in antrea.io/antrea

Antrea is a Kubernetes networking solution intended to be Kubernetes native. Prior to 2.4.5 and 2.5.2, a missing encryption vulnerability affects inter-Node Pod traffic. In Antrea clusters configured for dual-stack networking with IPsec encryption enabled (trafficEncryptionMode: ipsec), Antrea fails to apply encryption for IPv6 Pod traffic. While the IPv4 traffic is correctly encrypted via ESP (Encapsulating Security Payload), traffic using IPv6 is transmitted in plaintext. This occurs because the packets are encapsulated (using Geneve or VXLAN) but bypass the IPsec encryption layer. Impacted Users: users with dual-stack clusters and IPsec encryption enabled. fast-jwt has an incomplete fix for CVE-2023-48223: JWT Algorithm Confusion via Whitespace-Prefixed RSA Public Key

fast-jwt provides fast JSON Web Token (JWT) implementation. In 6.1.0 and earlier, the publicKeyPemMatcher regex in fast-jwt/src/crypto.js uses a ^ anchor that is defeated by any leading whitespace in the key string, re-enabling the exact same JWT algorithm confusion attack that CVE-2023-48223 patched.

Improper certificate validation in identity provider connection components in Amazon Athena ODBC driver

Improper certificate validation in the identity provider connection components in Amazon Athena ODBC driver before 2.1.0.0 might allow a man-in-the-middle threat actor to intercept authentication credentials due to insufficient default transport security when connecting to identity providers. This only applies to connections with external identity providers and does not apply to connections with Athena. To remediate this issue, users should upgrade to version 2.1.0.0.

Bulwark Webmail: Information Exposure: password returned in /api/auth/session

Bulwark Webmail is a self-hosted webmail client for Stalwart Mail Server. Prior to version 1.4.10, the GET /api/auth/session endpoint previously included the user's plaintext password in the JSON response. This exposed credentials to browser logs, local caches, and network proxie. This issue has been patched in version 1.4.10.
